Purpose Gifts Talents

Hello, this is Jesse Ferrill back in the offices of Just Talk speaking coaching firm. This is just a quick little video message. This is not going to be any big production. We're in our offices. We're doing a quick film. What is this about? You are about ready to receive what we call pgt. Purpose, gifts and Talents. Those of you that are out there, that are thirsting to discover what are your best gifts and talents. Oftentimes we don't know what they are. Even if we're performing them, we may not be in touch with that. I know because I was one of those folks quite a few years ago. So what I've delivered for you will be it's going to be in an Excel base and it's purpose, gifts and talents will be three steps. The first will be an instructional page. I want you to read those instructions. They're very simple, very easy. I'll come back to that in a second. Number two, it is going to be a sample of someone else's purpose, gifts and talents. Just a snapshot of it so you get a sense of the flow. You'll see that then the third will be a blank tab for you. So here's how the process goes. All I want you to do, and you'll get this in the instructions is you will determine these two questions. The two questions are, they are to be said identically. And then you want to the people that you connect. You want to choose 10 to 15 people that know you well. And you want to ask them and have to be diverse too. Don't ask all the same people. Ask folks that you work with. Ask folks, perhaps relatives. Ask either clients or former clients or friendships or connections, people that know you well. And here's what I want you to ask them. Ask them this, what are my best gifts and talents? You're going to ask them, what do you believe are my best gifts and talents? You want them to write their answers out, so you want to send this to them either in an email or a text message, whichever they prefer. And the question will be two questions. Number one, what do you believe are my best gifts and talents? That's it. And once they answer that, then say the second question is, how do you see me using those best gifts and talents? What profession, what industry, whatever, and let them tell you. Now what you're going to do is you're going to take all that information. You're going to copy paste both the first, the answers to the first question and you're going to put those in column number one. And then you're going to take a copy of their answers up to where they believe you can apply that profession and put those in number two. Then you're going to put their name and the last column in terms of who recommended those recommendations for you. Then. Now what you're going to do is you're going to fill up that spreadsheet with 10 or 15 of the very best, then go through and read them. Once you read them, just read them for clarity, put it down, then come back and read. For synergy, look to see which of those particular perspectives that were given to you are similar, are either identical or very, very similar in terms of your attributes. They may say that you have great leadership skills or you are a wonderful speaker or you're a wonderful educator. No matter whatever it is they say about you, find that synergy that most people seem to be saying about you because that is literally where your best gifts and talents are going to lie. And that's going to allow you to discover your purpose. So once you do that, once that's done, then we want you to reach out to Lisa or myself and you'll have options to reach us. And we want you to take the color code. When you take the color code now, you're going to have a true super solid personality assessment that lets us know who you are. And the color code says when you get self, you get others. So along with purpose, gifts and talents, you want to learn who you are innately, what drives your behavior? Why do you do what you do? You're going to put those two pieces together and you're going to be set to write your defining statement to strike a vision for what you believe is your best gifts and talents. And how that's going to serve in the marketplace, that's going to be unbelievable. So I'm going to close with this now. All I wanted you to do was understand just those dynamics, to hear me say them. They're all in instructions already. It's couched in an Excel spreadsheet. We call it Purpose, Gifts and Talents. We also short for short, we call it pgt.
