The Colors of Communication

A short interview (host JESS with SPEAKER B) about the Color Code personality system as a tool to improve personal and workplace relationships. The guest cites several statistics (85% of firings tied to relationship problems; managers spend 1.5–2.5 hours/day on personality conflicts; ~40% of US children lack strong emotional bonds; divorce rates by marriage order), summarizes the four Color Code types (reds: power/execution; blues: being understood; whites: inner peace; yellows: fun), and promotes taking the Color Code assessment (full report ≈38 pages for $39.95).

Okay, Jess, why color code and why is it so important for relationships?
Well, that's actually a very good question. I would say why color code is. If you really want to create a quality relationship, it starts with self, actually. When you learn to speak your own language, when you learn what your strengths and your limitations, then you get a chance to get a sense to know who you are, how you are, and how you may be coming off to others.
They say when you get self, you get others.
Absolutely. That's a great line from color code. You learned it well.
Thank you.
When you get self, you get others. So when we talk about that, the why color code, I looked up some interesting facts I want to share with you. And also you that are watching and listening to this, that this is. 85% of people fired last year were fired because of relationship problems.
Wow.
85%.
I would think. Relationship problems. But I would also think communication would be number one.
I think communication.
Communication is number one.
I totally agree with you. I think the communication definitely is number one. But it's tied to why the relationships fail. To your point, to the lack of communication. Also, another stat I found that I thought you would like and appreciate. Well, not like, but appreciate is the average manager spends 19 to 29 of his or her time resolving personality conflicts. That's roughly one and a half to two and a half hours out of every eight hour cycle.
Wow.
That's almost three hours of the eight hour day managing conflict, Right?
It doesn't surprise me.
Resolving personality conflict. Really?
Well, if you think about your coaching sessions, is a lot of that conflict.
It is. It is. Resolving conflict, you mean?
So there you go.
The coaching sessions aren't conflict, but helping our clients resolve conflict is a large part of what we do on the coaching side.
Absolutely. Yeah.
Good call, Jinx. By the way, I said. We said absolutely at the same time.
Okay.
And then finally, the other stat I want to share with you is nearly 40% of US children lack strong emotional bonds with their parents. So divorce statistics say first marriage, 40% failure or divorce ratio, 67% in second marriages and 74% divorce in third marriages. Don't you think it should be going any other direction?
Wow. That means they haven't done personal and professional development work.
Exactly.
To strengthen those relationships. And that is one of the things that color code will do for your relationship.
100%. So let's talk about three major facts about why color code. Number one is to raise your importance with others, learn how to make other people feel important, learn to speak their language, learn to know their color. So with the color code, there are four different colors. As you can see. There are red, blue, yellow and white. And just as a short brief, reds are motivated by power and the execution of getting things done, getting from a point A to point Z. Blues are motivated by being understood.
Right, Right.
And they like being heard. And whites are motivated by inner peace. They do not like conflict or confrontation.
Do you know one of those?
I do know one. I'm actually married to one right there. So she's a. She's a core white. And you'll learn more about what a core white is. And then the yellows are motivated by fun. Well, I'm comfy with that being said, that gives you the description. So how this works is you'll take the assessment. Will take you roughly half hour or less.
First, I would like to say, if you're interested and we left a cliffhanger for you, this the best way to take this assessment. You can take it for free, see below or you can take the full assessment and get all four of your color distinctions with the link below.
Absolutely. Less than $40. For $39.95, you get a full 38 page report, or it's approximately 38 pages that you'll get that talks about your strengths, your limitations, your wants, your needs. It lets you know who you are at the core level and it lets you know your driving core motive, your dcm, why you do what you do, which is powerful. So thanks for reminding them to take a look down there.
Absolutely.
I love that.
