A Complete Weight Loss Strategy

Jim Katsoulis presents a holistic weight-loss framework delivered on the Yourself Thin Podcast. He argues that sustainable weight loss requires a three-part strategy—mindset (foundation), lifestyle (walls), and eating/exercise (roof)—rather than isolated diets or tactics, and describes his Program Yourself Thin offering (goal-weight blueprint, rehearsal/self-hypnosis techniques, daily/weekly hypnosis support).

Everyone, welcome to today's program Yourself Thin Podcast. Today we're talking about a complete weight loss strategy. Now, before I share it with you, I need to just take a step back and make you realize you probably don't have a complete weight loss strategy. You don't really have a weight loss strategy, most likely, because we can't just look at a strategy as being just told what to do. Because if all you needed in life was just be told what to do, then we wouldn't have college, right? You could just listen to videos, you could just read a book. There's got to be more to things than just knowing or being told what to do. And so when it comes to your weight, it's important that you realize a complete strategy is not just a meal plan, just a workout, just nutritional knowledge that you're going to try and, you know, implement yourself. That's not a strategy, that's a tactic that you're trying to make everything and it's not well thought out. And I think if you can understand this distinction, I think it is so important, because what's going to happen as soon as you realize you don't have a complete strategy for weight loss? You've never had one. You've never been within 1,000ft of a complete strategy for weight loss. You've never even heard, most likely, of a complete strategy for weight loss, which means that the reason that you haven't lost weight long term for good is because you don't have a strategy, you don't know how to do it. So what's a complete strategy for weight loss? Well, it's going to have to take into account that you need more than just information. And this, to me, is one of the most fundamental things you need to understand is that, yes, you need information. There's a great chance that how you think about food, how you think about working out, weight loss, all the rest of it, it probably is valuable, right? Like, again, there's things you thought you knew, you didn't know. You learned something great. You learned about carbs, you learn about all this stuff. Great, okay. But at the end of the day, every diet fails because of this core fact that you can know what to do. But your struggle is always are you able to get yourself to do it consistently. And this is where you realize that you have had no strategy the whole time. Because never in your life have you ever gotten close to learning how to actually get yourself to do the things that you know you should. Instead, what you do is you just keep accumulating More things of what you should do. You listen to podcasts, you watch videos, you read articles, you read books, and you are given more and more and more and more and more information about what to do. And if we go right below that, we realize almost never do you implement that information in a long term way, right? You, you find some new information, you read a listen to a whole podcast about keto and next thing you know, you're into keto for a couple days or a couple weeks. Read a whole thing about weight watchers, join them, you're in there for a couple weeks, couple, a couple months, okay? And so what happens is you are always gaining lots of information, but rarely are you taking that information and turning it into long term behavior.
Right? You get, you do the diet, you do it 100% and then you stop the diet 100%. Very rarely when you stop your diet does it really linger over into your normal life. And so this is the core problem. You've never learned how to influence yourself so that you do what you're going to do. So you do what you want to do, right? Because all weight loss, at the end of the day, it really does all come down to your calories. And the number one way to influence your calories is to influence how you eat. So in program yourself, then I'm going to show you what I believe is a complete strategy to dealing with your weight. I'm going to show you a picture of it is that in programming yourself, then we break it down into three components and we use the shape of a pyramid to imply the importance of each and the role of each. All right, so we put eating on the top, but underneath the eating we put lifestyle. And underneath the lifestyle we put mindset. And I believe that this is the right way to approach your weight loss in a systematic, strategic way. Because I think what all you've been doing pretty much is focusing on eating, maybe a little working out. And I don't put working out as lifestyle, right? I put working out really is just the flip side of the coin of trying to influence calories. So you have eating and you have working out, and that's what most people focus on. Lifestyle I do not consider to be working out. Okay? So what happens for most people is they get some eating plan or workout plan and again you try and force yourself to do it, but you never shift your lifestyle and you never shift your mindset. And so what happens is you will use your willpower and your focus to force yourself to do something for a little while and then you stop doing it. And it's that simple. You jump into something 100%. You jump out of it 100%. Kind of like you're doing the Hokey Pokey. You're doing the Hokey Pokey with your diets, right? You put one foot in, you put one foot out, you put both of it out, and then you put them back out again, though. So always coming back out of it. And this is the core problem, that there's no thread. When you look at your whole weight loss history, there's no thread that ties it all together. There's no. From the first time you wanted to lose weight, there's no thread back to that moment where you just keep improving and growing and evolving and learning. There's none of that. There's these starts and stops, and you find yourself in the same spot or worse. Now, when you start to approach your weight with this kind of mindset, with this kind of idea that I'm going to work on my mindset simultaneously, I'm going to work on my mindset, my lifestyle, my eating. Now, you don't have to fix all of it at once. Do you understand? We're not jumping into all three categories 100% at once, but we're going to jump into all three of them 10% at once. 5, 10, 15. You can mix them up, doesn't matter. But the point is, we want to have a sense of all three of these, because what do you think is influencing your reading? Do you think that you read a book about carbs and now all of a sudden, because you learned that cutting refined carbs out is going to be great for your weight loss, that you're just going to do it from now on? You can't believe that at this point your behavior says otherwise. Okay? So you can believe what you want to believe, and you can believe it wholeheartedly, even, but you still need to make space for what is going to support your new eating patterns. Let's just say you want to go keto. Let's just say you want to do the most ridiculous one of them all. We're going to go keto. Fine. Okay, so if you want to go keto, though, what is going to support you making keto decisions? Do you think you're the same person every day, just make the same decisions every day? Or do you recognize that you change like the sun and the stars, right? Some days you got energy and focus and motivation, and some days you're exhausted, tired, and have lots of unhealthy cravings, right? It's not knowledge that keeps you on the path or takes it off. When you're doing well with your diet and when you're doing not well with your diet, you have the same information in your head, right? Whether you're doing your keto plan or not, you have the same knowledge of carbs and weight and all the rest of it. It's not a knowledge issue, it's a state issue. If you're in a good mood, basically you have a better chance of following along with the plan. If you're in a bad mood, you have a way less likely chance of following with that plan. If you got more energy, more likely, less energy, less likely. So what we have to start to understand is that you're eating up here is directly dependent on your lifestyle down here and your mindset down here. And if you're not thinking the right things, if you're not living the right way, you're not going to have the mindset, the thoughts, the motivation, the focus or the energy, physical, mental or emotional to get yourself to follow the eating plan that you believe is best for you. So you know, you have not had a strategic plan to losing weight. You've had this tactical plan where you just focus on one piece and you try and force yourself to do it. And it hasn't worked. And it's not going to work because again, it's almost, I use the pyramid shape because the house shape the same thing where again, the, the mindset is the, is the foundation, the lifestyle are the walls and the eating is the roof. And if you try and build a house from the roof down, that's not how they build houses, okay? And you're not going to build your, your ideal goal weight on a foundation of nothing. You know, with no walls, you can't build it that way. You've got to start with the right mindset layer the right lifestyle on top of that. Now you're in the game, you know, now you have a chance of getting your reading where you want it to go. Because once your mindset's in the right spot, once your lifestyle's in the right spot, the now you start to have the thoughts and the focus and the energy going the right direction and you have the, the energy, the physical, mental, emotional energy to carry it out. And once you start looking at this way, I think it's game changing because I think if you only look at the eating, what happens is you end up like most dieters and they're just perplexed. Dieters are walking around flummoxed how come I know everything to do and I don't do it? Well, it's because your mindset's going the wrong direction or it's fighting itself and your lifestyle is setting you up for failure. Your lifestyle. Are you getting good sleep? Are you well rested? Are you relaxed? Are you hydrated? Are you nourished? Are you moving regularly? Is your mind nice and quiet? Can you make it quiet? Are you steeped in gratitude? No, probably not. And so if you're not, again, you're just wasting energy and you're depleted. Are you depleted? Again, I'm not here to tell you you're depleted. Are you, are you energetically depleted? Because if you're energetically depleted, then how are you going to change your eating behaviors long term? Where the, where is the energy for that come from? So again, I'm not telling you of all the answers, but I am saying that if you can start to look at this in a more holistic way, in a more strategic way, almost instantly it becomes so obvious what the core problems are. And it's not you. It's not that you just don't have some magical willpower to force yourself to eat the right things. It's that you don't have a good strategy. You don't have a holistic strategy that sets you up for success. And once you do that, though, everything changes. And so that's what I urge you to do. And if you want some support doing that, click the link in my bio or go to program yourself then.com and go get the free hypnosis session I made for you. It's called the new Thin me. Right? It's kickstart session. It's 10 minutes long, right? It's a really good session. And I'd suggest listening. It's completely free. And I made you a training, so it's a 20 minute training. It'll just break down this whole system. Check it out. I mean, if you're serious about your weight, what are you doing? Are you just going to keep on winging it with the eating? That's all. So come on, you know, start. Start another way or at least look into another way. See if it doesn't make sense to you. All right? And again, all that's free. So go check that out. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Sugar Hond says, is keto going to help in making me thin? It may help in making you thin, but it's not going to help in keeping you thin. If you're like most people, keto really is just this ridiculous response to, you know, weight issues in America. And I say that again. I mean, listen, I. I'm gonna guess that the majority of people here right now have done keto at some point and lost weight doing it. So I'm not here telling you you won't lose weight with keto in the beginning. I am not saying that most diets, you're gonna lose weight in the beginning, you're gonna lose weight when you do them. I'm not arguing that point. The point I'm making is that no one sticks with keto plans. Not long term. It's very rare that someone sticks with a keto plan long term. Well, I just want to lose the weight and then I'll figure it out. Well, what, what's that mean? What does that mean? 95 of people that lose weight on a diet put the weight back on. So what does it mean when you say you're going to lose the weight and then figure it out? What does that mean.
Really? Like, think about that. You know, I always feel like with weight loss, so much of the. The secrets are hidden in the. The. The story of the Emperor's got no Clothes, you know, and what I mean by that is that a lot of times you have these ideas in your mind that you say, and on their surface level, they kind of bring you some sense of understanding and peace. But when you really look into them, what do they mean? Like, for example, you know, even if you were losing weight on a diet, because I've asked so many dieters this, and it's such a easy way to trigger people, but I say, what are you doing? You know, okay, you're losing weight, and that's great. What are you going to do when you get to your goal weight? I'll figure it out then. I always hear that. I'll figure it out then. And tell me you're not treating your maintenance as an afterthought, right? Because you're saying, I'll figure it out when I get there. But then shouldn't it worry you that 95% of dieters that have successfully lost the weight. So I'm not talking about people that just tried dieting. I'm talking about people that successfully followed a plan, stuck with it, and got to their goal weight. Those are the people I'm talking about. 95% of them put the weight back on.
So don't you think that your maintenance ought to be a little bit more on the forefront of your mind than this idea that you just deal with it Later. And I think this is, this is the core, because again, most dieters. You're bullshitting yourself. I'll figure it out later. Well, what do you mean? What's that mean? You're going to do keto forever?
No, I don't want to do that, but I'll just figure it out. Well, what's figured out mean? You, you mean you'll magically come up with some answer that you've never been able to come up with? Is that what figure it out later means, that I'll just magically, magically figure it out? Like what, what's that mean? Is that what you want to put your hope into? Is that your strategy, that I just hope magically a miracle happens? What's your strategy? I just hope that for the first time in my life, all of a sudden I get an insight and I know how to eat like a thin, healthy person. All of a sudden, like, what? What are we talking about? And I think once you realize that you have no plan for maintenance.
Well, then I hope you say, well, what am I doing here exactly? You know, and that's the question you want to start asking because a lot of people what they're doing, and it's not your fault. It's that. It's that diets have really conditioned us, you know, to think in a broken way.
You know, so that's why I say, you know, when I show you the pyramid.
And by the way, I just got all the, all the new workbooks were delivered today, so I'll be selling these again. So if you're in the program, you want to get one of these, it will be available, start today. It'll be in there, but okay, so, right, so. So mindset's the biggest platforms, the biggest section, because at the end of the day, it's the most important. Again, you could have the perfect eating plan. I mean, a lot of you have had eating plan. You go to a nutritionist or dietitian, they will literally customize a plan for your body for you. Do you think that's going to help you lose weight? No, not unless you know how to run your mindset. If that was the case, everyone just go to a dietitian. There wouldn't be a weight issues. So obviously it's got the mindset piece, you know, so at some point you got to deal with your mindset.
But yeah. So keto, will it help you become thin? I don't know. Yeah, maybe it'll help you become thin, but it's not going to help you stay Thin. So I don't care. I just want to get them. What's up, Carrie? But you better care because I'll tell you, there's no more depressing story than the story of someone who fought and worked to lose weight and then put it all back on it is the saddest. Sup, Sherry? Sherry? Absolutely. He open to growth. Fearless. Mental health is a balance of all the components that make you you. I agree with that.
That's a good. I like that description.
And by the way, I'm not even talking about mental health. I'm not a mental health practitioner. I'm really. I'm talking just more straight. What's a thin and healthy mindset? How do you think like a thin, healthy person? How do you. Even more specific. How do you think like a thin, healthy version of you? That's really what program yourself thins out there for. The invincible Sing says, is turmeric plus a pinch of black pepper tea really effective to improve gut health? No, I think that's. I think anything that's a pinch or a touch or anything that's so easy is probably not going to change, you know, so, no, I would not believe that turmeric and black pepper would do much for your gut health. I'll tell you what will do a lot for your gut health. Go have a salad. Go, go have a salad of fresh, whole natural fruits and vegetables and eat some greens and eat some carrots and some celery and some tomatoes and some cucumbers and some radishes and some peppers.
You know, maybe, maybe sprinkle some, some garbanzo beans on there. That's going to help your gut health. Okay, stop looking for sprinkles and pinches of stuff. Sprinkles and pinches aren't going to help. I'm joking. They might help something. But again, I would not want to put my faith into turmeric and black pepper pinches, you know, and I'm not saying they won't help at some point, but. But again, I would much rather focus on whole natural foods, fruits, vegetables, whole grains. You know, that's what I'd be focusing on. Social. What's going on? Do you recommend affirmations for the positive mindset? Not really. Not really. I think affirmations as usually understood, meaning that someone just writes down some nice sayings. I find more often than not. Now, let me just preface this by saying I am referring to my clients. So what's that mean? My clients are usually people that are overthinkers, perfectionists, action, takers usually well educated, successful, professionally, personally, whatever they've put their mind to in life. That's usually my clients. Okay? Now, that being said, I have had. Listen, I've been doing this for over 20 years. I've done with 6,000 private weight loss sessions. My clients, that type of person, typically when they try the affirmation stuff, they'll be saying the positive affirmation over here. And another part of their brain is saying bullshit is.
You know what I mean? So I think that I don't believe in just general generic affirmations because I find most of the time your brain's not going to accept them. And in a weird way, it's almost like you're just reinforcing that voice in you that just says, I don't believe that. So I. In program yourself, then what we do is we use mantras. You may say, well, that's the same thing. It's just a different word. I don't think so. Okay? And I'll tell you why. Because I think the. The affirmations, a lot of times it'll be like, well, it's hard. I mean, there's a million affirmations. So I guess it depends, you know, I'm sure you could find some good affirmations, but to me, it's like, I would rather find more cause and effect things. So, for example, I will give you one from program yourself that one. One example of a mantra using the program is mistakes are your greatest teachers. Okay? So I know now that you're going to make mistakes. So I want to put this idea that mistakes are your greatest teachers in your mind. And to me, it's a halfway point. Okay? So I'm not saying I love mistakes. Right? That might be a bridge too far. Right? That might be like an affirmation land. Oh, I love mistakes. I love mistakes. I wouldn't want to say that anyways. And you wouldn't believe it. I don't love mistakes. I don't want to make any mistakes. Right. Mistakes are our greatest teachers is a mantra that I think makes sense. But you have to understand that mantra is directly related to teachings in the program. So a lot of program yourself then is built around the idea that we're going to make mistakes. How do we learn and grow from them? You learn the program yourself, then rehearsal technique, and it's how we learn and redo mistakes we make so we learn and grow from them. So it all fits together. So now that mantra that you're consistently hearing and putting into your mind, reference a strategy and an idea that has more context to it as opposed to this affirmation, oh, I'm thinning, I'm thin and healthy. I'm thin and healthy. I mean, does that hurt? I don't know. It may hurt even. I don't even know. But if you don't believe that, I'll give you another example of a mantra in the program that nothing tastes as good as thin and healthy feels. Now again, that's the idea. Like you can say that, and you might at first, that's bullshit. But if you stop and think about it, I think you'll find that nothing tastes as good as thin and healthy feels. And I can prove it with a, with a question. What would you take if I, if I came to you and said you can have the most delicious meal you've ever had in your life right now or can wake up tomorrow morning at your goal weight? Which would you pick? So again, I think I like the idea of, I like, like the idea of affirmations as an idea. I think the execution typically is this idea that you're going to listen to this phrase and say it to yourself. Because I find most of the time people don't, don't believe it. And now all of a sudden it becomes a counter affirmation where this isn't going to work, this is stupid. And so I don't know, if you don't have that experience, then, then I would say keep going with them. But a lot of my clients, that's their experience. So I wish I could just give you a simple answer, but I don't, I don't find that most affirmations are effective if they're custom made for you. Now again, I don't even like the word affirmations because I think of hypnotic suggestions, which is a much, much more layered meaning and idea. So I think hypnotic suggestions given in a specific way for someone to say to themselves, I love the idea of affirmations. Like, I'm just going to write, I don't know, most of the time I don't buy into it. Now again, you might see an affirmation that you really resonate with. Now that's a different story. Okay, But I think you should judge the affirmation.
I like how I like. Yeah, judge your eyes. I'll write a book. That's a, I'm in book writing mode. Yeah, judge your affirmations. And if deep down you just don't believe it, don't just keep saying it to yourself. I guess that's where I'll end On that one. Yeah. So it says, I love that I have 100 so much time repeating affirmations I don't believe. Yeah, there you go. Exactly. That's what I mean. Now again, you might randomly I read, you know who's my favorite affirmation person is Louise Hay. And I think she's just wonderful. And now again, same thing though with her, this was really great because back in the day I used to read her style and say this and I was like, nah, some of it's great and I agree with. And some of it I'm just like, just don't buy into. And I think now that's really the big thing I do is that I, I judge it. I say, do I believe this? Is this valuable for me or is it not? And if I don't believe it, obviously I'm not gonna waste my time. I'll only work on the ones I do believe and. But the ones I do believe, yes, that's what program yourself then is so much about. Because program yourself then there's three main components to program yourself. Then there's this goal weight blueprint, which is really like knowing what to do, right? So you have this here with your goal weight blueprint. It's the road map you follow. It's the how do I think live and eat like a thin healthy person customized to you. That's how you, you have to know what to do, number one. Number two is you need to be able to get yourself to do it. That's, that's the program yourself then rehearsal technique, how to program your mind. 60 Second Self Hypnosis Exercise used to program your subconscious mind. That's how you get yourself to do it. Then I believe you need a support system to kind of support the whole process. And there's a bunch of support system in there, but one of the main pieces is the goal weight hypnosis system. So every morning for eight weeks you get a five minute hypnosis session that has a weight loss mantra in it, all different ones. So every day you're getting different ideas put into your mind in a calm, relaxed way. And then every night you listen to your weekly session. So each week you get one core weight loss mantra, that's a 10 minute session until you listen at night. So you kind of bookend your day with a 5 minute session in the morning, 10 minute session at night. And that puts all these ideas in your mind in a very deep way and they support everything in the program. But you know, again, I've put a lot of people through the program at this point. And you know, even that some people say, well, this one resonates with me more than that one. That's just normal. But yeah, start judging them. And if the affirmation just doesn't sit right, you don't believe it. You know, question it. See if you can get to a place where you do believe it. But do not say to yourself repeatedly things that you do not believe. I can't think of a bigger waste of time. And on the flip side, if you start saying things to yourself rep repeatedly that you do believe that are helpful to you, I think that is really what you want to be thinking about because that is extremely empowering. All right.
Irene says, so exhausting seeing people looking for any kind of quick fix. The common sense and logic go right over their heads. No, that's true. I mean, that's just the dieting world, and that's what I'm here for, is to help everyone kind of see through that. Because again, we've been so inundated with diet marketing our whole lives that we're very susceptible to it. So we've got to learn to push back from that and kind of recognize it.
The invincible Singh says, what do you want to say about the Carnivore diet? When I asked some of them that fiber is the fuel for your good gut bacteria, they said some myth and one of them sees carbohydrates as an enemy. Yeah, no, I get that. I mean, listen, I always say this, that it's the information age. And I, I think, at least I did when I thought of the information age back in the day, I always thought it was going to be good information. We will have, you know, clear cut good information. It'll be easy to make decisions. I didn't realize there's going to be unlimited information. So, you know, literally you can believe whatever you want at this point in time, you know, and so literally at one point you can have people that say, you know, carnivore is great. Carbs are the worst for you. You don't need fiber. And other side, you'll see people that say, you only want any meat. You know, that's really bad for you. You need as much fiber as possible. I definitely trend more towards the fiber side. Okay. I think Carnivore is the silliest thing I've seen the diet industry come up with so far. And it really is just an extension of keto, you know, at the end of the day, but it's a ridiculous one. And again, to the people I Know that they will pull out their studies and they will dazzle you with. But I think at the end of the day there's a few core factors I can never get over. And the first one is that if you look at your digestive tract, you have the digestive tract of a omnivore. You know, mostly, you know, for plants. You know, again, if you look at a carnivore's track, it's way shorter. I mean the teeth of a carnivore, you don't have fangs and you know, I mean like you're not built like a carnivore.
So I don't know how you get around that. I don't know exactly. I haven't listened to enough of them. I don't really waste my time with it because I don't. You can believe anything if you listen to enough of it or you certainly get confused enough. So I don't really understand the idea of being a carnivore. I don't know what. Here's another one I'll tell you is when it comes to carnivore or keto, I don't know what large population they are pointing to as an example of low carb, high high protein diet as being good for your health. I, I have heard him mention the Inuit, Eskimo. I've heard him mention those tribes out in Africa. I don't know what, what large country, population they are pointing to saying, well, look at this country. All they do is eat meat and they're thriving. I've never heard that. Now on the flip side, you can literally look at pretty much any color that any country that's thriving health wise has a low protein, high carb diet, starting with the blue zones. Which I'm sure is all a myth and a lie, right? It's always a myth and a lie. Everyone's out to get you. But use your brains and start to look at what country out there eats just meat, what group.
You know, what country.
I'm not saying there aren't countries out there that eat more meat than others. I, I know there are. I'm asking you for the country that eats exclusively meat, the population that eats exclusively meat. Who are they, these people.
And how's their health? You know, so they conflate the numbers. Listen, if all of a sudden you know you've been eating bullshit and you're way overweight and obese and have health issues and you just eat carnivore and you're consuming less calories and your weight goes down, well in that period of time, your health's going to improve. I. I said this the other day. Like, let me just put in a different context so it's just crystal clear. It's like, if you're morbidly obese and you go on a dry fast.
For a month, what's going to happen is your weight's going to go down and most likely your health markers are going to go, look, improve. So someone could say, look at that. Dry fasting is great for your health.
Well, for that month, it was. I'll give you that. Okay, but what happens the next month? What happens the second month if you don't put any food or water in your body? Is it good for your health? You see what I'm saying? So we can't get confused by initial shifts in blood markers and health markers that happen when someone loses weight, regardless of what they do. I just saw that the. The person, the stupid McDonald's eater, you know that story that all they did was eat McDonald's and they lost weight? You know, it's all. It's all of us about calories with the weight, and weight's directly related to health issues. Most. For most people. So if you reduce weight, your health markers are usually gonna look good in the short term. You know, the question becomes, what about the long term? And back to my original question, what big population of people are you looking at that have only consisted of meat their whole lives or for decades? Who. Who are these people that you're basing this giant decision in your life on?
So.
I don't know. I'm not a nutritionist, though. Don York says your language makes it hard to receive your message. Yeah, I get that sometimes.
Other Wilson says, just loving your call out the BS approach. I'm still working, but listening in and have chuckled out loud. We need teachers like you to say how it is. Pragmatic, realistic, but supportive. Thank you, Heather. Yes, that's what I aim to do. And I do use some blue language. I can't help it. I don't. It's just how I talk, to be honest. And.
It'S just. It's not for everyone, is all I can say, you know, So I know some people, the message is, you know, the language just gets too much in the way, and they just can't deal with it. And I respect that, you know, but I just can't help it because I get too mad. This for me, you know, you have to understand that I do this. It really is a mission for me. I'm literally here Every day, Monday through Friday, to help you all. I just do this for free, okay? And for me, it's a mission because I'm trying to help as many people as possible live at their goal, weight.
For the rest of their lives. And it's not just about looking good in their bathing suits. You know, for me, my story started. My father died at 54 of a heart attack. Directly weight related, lifestyle related. And so for me, this is life and death. And so I get mad all the time at the diet companies, the food companies, lots of, lots of things. And when I get mad, I can't help but say bad words and I just don't care anymore. So I'm sorry, Don, but it's just how it is. Melancholy Green, how's it going? Melancholy Green says, my main goal right now is to stop looking at other people and caring what they're doing. I don't spend near enough time really looking at and caring about my own self. Yeah, Melancholy, I think that's a great insight and I think that's probably true if you're like most of us. I think all of us have to deal with that to some degree, myself included. All of us. Right. And it's just built into us as a human being. There's this concept that it's what, again, most things. Right. Blessing and the curse. But one of the things that makes us, you know, such a interesting species is this theory of the mind concept that there's something about our minds that kind of tie us together and so, you know, part of our ability to connect with other people and, you know, look at what other people are doing and learn from them and emulate them. And all this stuff is part of what makes us great, but it's also part of what brings us, you know, some struggles when we don't necessarily need them. So, yeah, I get it. Melancholy. That's a smart, smart distinction. The invincible thing says there are researches which show people who ate more red meat have an increased chance of colon cancer. Reduced gut microbiome diversity. Yeah, I mean, I'm sure there's researches and studies that show that. I mean, I wouldn't. That doesn't surprise me, you know, and again, I'm not against meat. I want to make that crystal clear. I'm a pescatarian, so I eat fish meat. You know, I'm not against meat. I just, I'm against the over consumption of meat. It's weird to me. I don't know what, what again, Once again, we'll go back to this, but what population Are you looking at that ate so much meat? You know, meat's energy intensive. It's extremely expensive. Not just with money, dollars, just with resources. So that, you know, I mean, like, they're in history. When did you have the ability for so many people eat so much meat ever in history as we do right now? It's a giant industry and I think that they, they confuse a lot of people is what I think. And so, yeah, it makes sense to me that you don't eat any fiber, you're going to have gut issues. Not everyone, right? Because, I mean, there's people that could be a coal miner and smoking for, you know, 80 years and not have lung cancer. So, I mean, there's always outliers. But again, statistically, you know, I think it makes sense, that connection.
Yeah. Any questions? I am here. Tick tock. So I know I always say that that's been slower lately, but I think Tick Tock's probably winding right down. I don't know what it's going to look like when I. I just saw that this weekend that they're gonna sell it, but they're selling it. It's going to be like Fox News and it's gonna be very conservative, from what I understand. It's going to be a very conservative app, I guess, or maybe they won't mess with it, I don't know. But it'll be interesting. I don't know if it'll be the same as it's been and I'll miss that, but whatever, we move on. Irene says, I know those who have lipidemia have found great results with carnivore diet. Everybody can be different depending on various health conditions, but your average person should not be eating meat only. Ridiculous. Yeah, exactly. Now, fair enough, right? If you got lipidemia, if there are like extreme, extreme situations, I'm not talking to you. Do you know what I mean? Like, I want to make that crystal clear. I'm not here giving medical or nutrition advice. I'm not a doctor or a dietitian. Okay? I'm talking about the average person. Though I do understand the dieter's mindset, and I think most dieters think about options for them that are completely unnecessary or irrelevant. You know, like on a carnivore diet or a keto diet. Keto diet wasn't made for weight loss. It was made to help epileptics. So again, I'm not saying that there aren't uses for like a keto diet in that context. I'm not talking about that. I'm talking about using a keto tire for someone who doesn't have using for epilepsy, someone trying to use a keto diet to manage their weight. That's what I'm talking about. And it's, it's a ridiculous and I think the same thing with the carnivore. So if we're talking about managing your weight, the average person, you know, are there, is there going to be a person out of, you know, 400 million people in America who does carnivore diet and just thrives on it for years and years and years? Of course. But is that the majority of people? I don't think so. You know, it doesn't make any sense to me if it was so, you know, I think we got to look at it with context.
Ash says. So do you believe more in the works of hypnosis or manifestation? Well, you know, to be completely honest, I'm going to answer this in a little more of a complex way than you probably just want a simple answer. But I, I think that neither one of them on average are very helpful. I don't think hypnosis or manifestation for most people is going to do a whole lot if that's all you use. So I think if all you do is rely on hypnosis or manifestation to change yourself, I don't think either one of them are going to get very good results. So now that being said, I think if you deep dive and study hypnosis and start to understand self hypnosis now I think you've got. Now, now self hypnosis is way out in front of way better chance manifestations. A half baked, half assed philosophy. I love it too by the way. I use manifestation techniques and components in the program and in my life. So I love aspects of manifestation. That being said, I think the traditional way that manifestations taught is, is shenanigans. I think it's, it's, it's, it's a, it's a incomplete, not well thought out system. That's what I think. Now I think self hypnosis has much more, if you deep dive into it, I think there's much more psychology and study and it quickly is reinforced with neuroscience and just, just a lot of evidence. But you've got to research it because most hypnotists don't even know that stuff. So probably not the answer you wanted. But, but I definitely at the end of the day self hypnosis is what I believe in most. Melancholy says I've been noticing a shift away from blaming outside things for my own issues. So what if someone said or did something? It's not my problem unless I make it my problem. Well, melancholy like a self discovery path here. I like that. Yeah, I would agree with that. I think the more you can stop blaming other people and just stay with yourself, I think is because, listen, here's the reason why I think that too is that when we blame other people, we're giving our power away. You know, I mean we're saying, okay, that person has to change or do something in order for me to feel better. And I don't want to give people that power. I don't want to have to rely on other people for me to feel okay. So that's one of the big reasons why I don't like to blame people is that I don't want to again. It's instantly giving my power away. Oh, they got to do this for me to feel this, you know, I don't want to feel that way. It's up to me, you know, I'll figure it out. And I may not like what they did and what they did maybe make things harder for me or unfair and all that. And I acknowledge that. But even if those things happen, I still want to say, okay, how do I want to respond to this? So I agree 1000% melancholy with, with you. Yeah. Invincible sin. Yeah. Okinawa, Japan is one of the blue zones. They ate 90 vegetarian, 10 non veg diet. Yeah. And they are very healthy and live a long time. So again, the blue zones. I know, you know, it's just so funny and it just shows you that these. I don't know, I, I don't, I don't know. It's just, it's just weird now because there's so much money being made and letting you astray. It's all an industry, you know what I mean? So listen, I, I'm tempted by it every day, you know what I mean? Like I'm constantly, every single day I get emails and messages from different people wanting me to sell their. It's everything. I mean it's supplements, you know. And again you watch the supplement thing. It supplements, protein. I'm saying protein supplements because it's everything. It's protein powders, bars, you know, just, just a million ways to put more protein in your body. That's, that's a lot of it. But then there's all the other kinds. There's testing, genetic testing. I mean I get, I get so much bullshit that I could easily just like put my okay on and make a ton of money. And so I know this business works. And so what happens is you get a lot of people saying things that, you know, whether they believe it or not, they. They say it because they're. They're motivated to say it through making more money. And I think there's so much money right now to sell protein, you know, and so, I don't know. I just think you have to recognize that. But.
Machine says the best thing to do is to. The best thing to do is to do something you can keep up with for the rest of your life. Well, that's brilliant, Racine. I agree a thousand percent. I think that's. That's right there in a nutshell. Yeah. The best thing to do is to do something you can keep up with the rest of your life. If you really internalize that and believe that and build your whole system and process around that, you end up in a completely different place. You know, it's really amazing because you. When you can keep doing something consistently, you can improve at it. That's the secret. I always tell people this. Weight loss is. Is a practice. You're practicing, you're improving, you're getting better. Most dieters approach their weight loss like they already know what to do. They just need to force themselves to do it. There's no room for growth or practice. You just do it. You're either doing it or you're not doing it, you know, but that's not true. It's practice. And in order to practice something, you have to do it consistently. And the only things you're going to do consistently are things that aren't overwhelming to you and stressful to you. So. Agreed. Racine?
Yeah. When Amuka says humans are omnivores. Yeah, agreed. I mean, this is. Again, I don't know how anyone's going to look at the old digestive track over here and say, no, that's a. Carnivores. They're. They're just fundamentally different. My dog's digestive track is way shorter and smaller and smoother, and so it's like straighter stuff, goes through a lot faster. Carnivores, dietary tracks look like that. You know, there are scientific things you can look at an animal and classify it. So I don't know. I don't know who is the genius who has just gotten rid of however many centuries of biology and says, actually. Actually is a carnivore. Well, not carnivore, omnivore. You can, you know, we're just. We can just do whatever. We're humans. We're Adaptable. Okay. You're so adaptable that you're gonna overwrite millions of years of evolution and these types of fruit eating, plant eating bodies. Can we eat meat? Yeah, obviously. Is it the best thing for you? What's the evidence that, of that, what's the long term population you're looking at of a population that was thriving on eating only meat? I, I've never gotten this answer. So if anyone even knows what it is, could you, could you share it? What population are carnivores looking at and saying that's, that's what the best is and, or is there no population yet? Because we're the, we're the, the head of it. We're the first ones that have ever been able to do this and we're going to be amazed at the results. Scary. What's up, Shereen? Shereen says, hey, Jim. I've been vacationing, lots of walking. Then just ended with our epic States Fair. I increased less than £1. I'm ecstatic. And have to be back to normal. Wonderful job, Shereen. That's awesome. I know. I'm going to the fair on Wednesday. I cannot wait. I was gonna go last Wednesday. I'm kind of glad because it's a little cooler now, so it definitely feels. I was saying to my wife, I remember going back to the. Because I used to live in that town where the fair is, where the biggie is. And so I have so many memories with it. But yeah, go in there, man. High school, being there at night, cold air. Those are the days, huh? See, I can't wait to go there. But that's awesome, Shereen. That, that's, that's what we're talking about. You know, again, Shereen's in the program. So it's like that's what we're looking to do, is to be able to go vacation, to go to fairs, to live your life and be at your goal weight. That, that's the goal. It's not as crazy as it sounds, folks. It's really not okay. When you stop dieting, you set up a plan for the rest of your life. You can live your life and weigh what you want. I'm not here to make it sound like it's the easiest thing in the world. It takes effort and energy. I'm not gonna deny that. But what I'm saying is it's like college. If you commit and put the time into college, you're going to come out the other end with a degree and whatever you decide to study. Even though in the beginning you don't know about that, right? As you keep going through and you dedicate to it, you're going to end up in a place where you know it, you know. So I always say, like, if you have no mechanical ability, if I put you into mechanic school and you do the work, you're going to come out. A mechanic may not be the best mechanic, but you're not a mechanic. And with weight, if you learn how to run your mindset, lifestyle and eating strategically for yourself, you come out thin and healthy. On the other end, It's. It's not rocket science. Great job, Sherene. That's awesome. What's up, Kim? Happy fall to you. Yes, it feels like fall, too. It's so beautiful. It is just. Oh, man, today was awesome. I was taking a nap outside of my dogs, taking a snooze in the sun, all laying there. Oh, it's just. I mean, like.
It'S beautiful. And this is why I love New England so much, because we really do go through the seasons and it's just extremes all over the place. But I'm telling you, I love it. I really do buy into the, you know, that the sweet's not as sweet without the bitter routine. And my God, this summer was just ridiculous with the heat and the dryness. So the, the weather, oh, my God, it just feels like, oh, I just want to sit there and just soak it all in. It is just. It is beautiful. And leaves, I mean, really start to change as that's coming too. And that's always fun. I love fall. I mean, it's hard not to around here, so. Yes, it is nice. Oh, there's Shereen. I want to put her little message up there. That's so great, Shereen. And that's what I mean, like in Shereen. So she. She's following her own plan, you know. And the best part of Program yourself then, in this approach is that now for Shereen, like, she goes into it this year, vacation Biggie doesn't put a lot of weight on. And so now what happens as she goes forward, she has so much more faith and belief in herself. That's what I'm trying to say. See, most dieters really only look at the number on the scale, the weight. But with Program Yourself, then we take the weight and rapid and personal development. So you're growing, evolving, improving as a person. And so for Shereen, it's like, it's not just that the weight stayed at the same level, it's that she starts to believe and trust herself, love Herself more, enjoy herself more, have more faith in herself. More confidence, more happiness, more lightness, more relaxation, more peace.
Do you see what I'm saying? Like, there's so much more beyond just your weight is one number. That's great. I don't. That's fun. We all know that's fun. But there's so much more, too. Great job, Shereen. Our pain says all the way you deliver your message. It's refreshing and honest. Well, thank you, Laura. That's what I'm here for. I do take the no oath, so I, I do attempt to be refreshing and honest because I think weight loss is just full of bullshitters. I just think weight loss out of like, oh, my God, weight loss is the most full of. I don't know what you want to call it, you know, industry or just, it's just so full of. And it drives me crazy because again, I go back to life and death thing, you know, it makes me nuts. But I appreciate you saying that.
Patricia said, what I learned from you is if you have a bad day or day is eating bad, you can go back to eating healthy again. It's okay. Absolutely. Patricia, I'm so happy you said that. That's like the cornerstone of program yourself then, you know, the cornerstone of programming yourself then is that you're gonna make mistakes. I was talking about this last week. Most dieters approach their weight loss and the first day is always like, it's like an endurance test, how long can I be perfect for? And the second mistake happens. Forget it, blew it. You know, it's all over. But program yourself then. We start with the mistakes. We know you're gonna make mistakes. Not a big deal. And we give you a process to learn from your mistakes and get back on track quickly. I think that's more valuable than the fairy tale that you're just never going to make a mistake this time. So I love that, Patricia. Thank you for saying that.
It says, I'm in the steaming tenders, Whiskey bread pudding. Yum. My strategy was sharing everything I ate. That's a good one, Shreen. Steaming tenders, Whiskey bread pudding.
Whiskey bread pudding. I've never heard of that one. I know. I, I. What did. Someone told me there was something I wanted to try. That sounded pretty good to me. It was. I think it says colossal shrimp. Maybe I do like shrimps. I might have one of those.
Heather says I work in construction gym. Swearing only resonates with an aggressive, not supportive tone.
Not supportive tone. I just hear the passion behind the language. Thank you, Heather. Yes. Yeah, in construction. I'm sure you hear all the time, hey, that's me, too. What do you want, folks? You know what I mean? My dad was a mechanic, and everyone around me growing up was basically Greek immigrants, blue collar, you know, working people. So, you know, what do you want? It's just the language of my peoples that may sound like a. An excuse. I don't want to, because I just like to swear, too. I just enjoy it, and I think it makes a point sometimes, and it's just how I talk, so it is what it is. Irene says I'm trying to only eat meat if I go out to eat, but I'm struggling to find some great tasting and satisfying recipes without it. If anyone can point me in the right direction.
Oh, I'm trying to only eat meat if I go out to eat.
Oh, you're struggling to find recipes without meat. Yeah, I get that. I get that. That's. That's common. My opinion. You know.
I think the first thing I always suggest are beans. I think beans. Beans really are the meat alternative in my life, you know, and so I do eat fake meat occasionally. You know, I'm not opposed to it, but I don't love it, you know, so I make some space for it. I will eat it, but I primarily like to eat beans as a replacement. So I'll let you kind of look in that direction because. And I think if you keep an open mind, I think you'll find that the beans really do.
The beans are very satisfying, and I don't think people realize that beans are basically as satisfying as meat, I think you'll find. You know, so that may sound strange, but that's what most vegetarians end up finding. Kelly says your method is teaching me to love myself through my weight journey, making it possible. Well, that's awesome, Kelly. I like that so much. I'm going to screenshot it. Yeah. Because that's the idea here, is that I don't understand the point of losing weight through beating yourself up and hating yourself. I just don't understand that. What's the point? You know, And I see that a lot. I see people losing weight through just being mean to themselves, hating their bodies, hating themselves, and I don't. I don't know, kind of missed the point of that.
Keep swearing. All right, I will.
I've got. Anyways. I don't know. I've thought about it a lot, but I just don't. It would be disingenuous for me, and I can now. There was, for most of my career I didn't swear it. I just, like, kept it clean and now it's like I just don't have to anymore. So I don't want to. So, I mean, I have to swear my personal life either, but I like it. So.
Anyways.
I'm saying here.
Mercedes says started my medically supervised diabetes in March 2025. My A1C has been lowering and expect to be in Pre diabetes by January 26th. What's improved my situation? Calorie deficit, added fiber, regular exercise, higher protein, intermittent fasting. Also loving the health journey. That's great. That's great, Mercedes. I think that's perfect. I love that. I love that approach. Right. I see lots of things there. You know, calorie deficit, fiber, regular exercise, higher protein. I mean, fat. And that's wonderful. Right? So it's a holistic strategy. So nice job. Keep it up. Keep it up. Rochelle says I did hypnosio, but it didn't work. Is that my mind is. Is it that my mind is, too. Cannot be hypnotized. No. Hypnosio is a clown show. You know, most hypnosis is clown shows, folks. I've got the number one hypnosis program on the planet, and I don't even know if my hypnosis program would make you thin and healthy forever. I think personally, you need the three pieces of the puzzle. I think you need to know what to do customized to you. I think you yourself need to know how to run your own brain. And then I think the hypnosis is really a powerful support system amongst other things. So I don't think there's like, again, I just wish listen to my hypnosis sessions make you thin and healthy. And I've seen it work for people, so I'm not going to say I haven't seen that. But it's just, I don't see how anything magical is going to change your mind. So hypnosio. Yeah, I, I again, I, I don't like to, you know, I want to be supportive of my colleagues in a sense, but I just find, listen to hypnosis sessions for most things, certainly for weight loss, I find it to be not very effective. So, no, Rochelle, I would say it's not because you can't be hypnotized. You're absolutely hypnotizable. I promise you, every human's hypnotizable, and every human gets hypnotized every day. Whether you would let a hypnotist do that to you is another story. Whether you'd let a Session do that to you is another story. But everyone can go into hypnosis. Everyone does go into hypnosis every day. So it's just learning how to use it intentionally, you know, effectively.
Oh, Irene, you're in a mask too. Okay. Yeah. Sitting outside enjoying my day off. Oh, yeah. What a day off it is. Is legit. The beautiful day ever.
Today. So that's awesome. Yeah. Enjoy it. E Picket, how's it going? Hi, Jim. Just got back from two weeks in Morocco last Thursday. We ate a lot of food and I had a few, if any, cravings for sweets, and I actually lost weight. Yes. Again, they're in the program, so you know what I mean? Like, if this sounds magical, this is what happens. When you learn how to run your mind, when you learn how to have the right strategies, you can do this. Right? But then they say, but this weekend the craving came back and that'll happen again. You have to understand when things are wobbly, right? You go away from Morocco and you're gone for weeks eating different foods in different situations, going, you're gonna come back, and it might throw you off a little bit because you're depleted. You're depleted physically, mentally and emotionally from all the traveling, all the different foods, all the rest of it. So that's completely normal. Okay. And so, you know, just relax, get yourself back up to normal. I would really focus on getting your kind of depleted energy back up to normal. And I think that you'll find a lot of the cravings start to fade. Let me know if they don't.
Yeah, yeah. Shereen said yes. I used to always have a big gain at the end of the summer. Yeah. Not anymore. It's nice too, isn't it? It's a lot better. The invisible. Singh says also currently the Indians are over consuming carbs lack important nutrients like protein, vitamin D and B12. India is now the diabetes capital of the world. Wow. Yeah. Diabetes America really, you know, exported that around the world. You know, we really did. China didn't have any cases of diabetes practically, and now they have huge numbers as well. It's really. It's the westernized diet. It's processed foods is really the. The core, core issue at the end of the day.
And it's not carbs. I wish. I wish everyone stopped with the carbs. I know. Like, we can look at it as carbs, and you may technically be correct, but I think it's important to watch with the carbs because carbs are wonderful, folks. The healthiest, longest living goal, weightiest countries on the Planet are high carb diets. So carbs are not the problem. Refined carbs are the problem. And they do that on purpose to confuse you because I've seen keto people that don't want to eat fruits and vegetables, they worry about their carb numbers, eat the shit out of fruits and vegetables. Foods. You don't have to worry about your carb numbers. Now, again, if you're in a real extreme situation, don't listen to me. If you're extreme diabetic, you know what I mean? Like, don't listen to me if you're an extreme situation. I'm not a doctor. I'm talking about the average person. Getting rid of all the carbs is, I don't think is the good is the right answer.
I think getting rid of the processed carbs, getting rid of processed food I think is probably a good start. Increasing whole natural foods. And that's smart.
Melancholy Green says, I don't swear and don't like it, but if I value a message and walk away having learned something, I'm cool with it. I'm strong enough to hear it without letting it ruin the moment. Grow people. Yeah, fair enough. Fair enough. Yeah, that's how I feel. Not for everyone. That's okay because if you don't like that, you're probably gonna like a lot of other stuff. So I'm just saving people time. All right, we get out of everyone.
