A brief motivational message by Jim Katsoulis arguing that to create lasting change you must first shift your self-image ("be it before you become it"). He advises pairing identity-focused imagination (e.g., seeing yourself as wealthy or thin) with behavioral changes to accelerate results.

You have to be it before you become it. So often when people want to create a change in their lives, they try and do the behaviors that may lead to that change, but the whole time it's like they got the anchor dropped because they don't believe they're really that person. So what you want to start doing when you want to create a change in your life is to shift your self image right from the beginning. So if you want to make more money, you start imagining that you are a person who is surrounded by abundance and wealth. If you want to lose weight, you start imagining yourself as a thin, healthy person. And as you start focusing on the self image in addition to the behaviors you're taking, you're going to supercharge your results.
