Jim Katsoulis (YouTube) explains how to handle weight-loss plateaus: treat plateaus as practice for maintenance rather than failure. He advises stabilizing and optimizing current behaviors (making them easier and more enjoyable) instead of immediately cutting more calories; this may restart weight loss, and if not, positions you to make strategic calorie reductions. Tone is practical and coaching-oriented.

How to deal with weight loss plateaus. Listen, they're a part of the process. No matter what method you use you are going to hit some plateaus along the way so you better have some strategies to deal with them effectively. The best one that I've seen is when you think about your plateaus as an opportunity to practice your maintenance because remember the goal here is to get to the ultimate plateau which is your goal weight and then stay there. So when you hit a plateau don't freak out. What you do is you start optimizing what you've done to get here and what that means is not cutting more calories is it means stabilizing what you've been doing and optimizing it by focusing on making it easier and more enjoyable and eventually the plateau's probably going to start going back down again. But even if it doesn't you're now in a better spot to strategically figure out where you can cut the calories out to restart the weight loss.
