How tired is the extra weight making you? One of the challenges of weight is that it comes on a pound at a time, so you habituate to it in real time. So one of the things you can do to really appreciate just how much energy it takes to carry that extra weight around is what I call the pet food experiment. And so the next time you're in a supermarket or pet food store, what I want you to do is go over to the pet food aisle and I want you to pick up the bag of dog food that is closest to the extra weight that you're carrying. And so if you're 40 pounds overweight, go get the 40 pound bag of dog food. Now, what I want you to do is I want you to hold that bag of dog food in your arms for a minute or two, and I want you to notice just how tiring it is to carry all that extra weight. What this experiment does is it sends a signal to your subconscious mind of just how much energy and how tired that extra weight is making you. And you're going to find that you're probably a lot more motivated to make that shift and change.
