How to make healthier food choices without relying on willpower. And so the secret is to start thinking about food differently when you're making food choices. Typically when you're making a food choice you are focusing on the anticipation of getting the food and the consumption of eating it and this drives the desire and the craving for the food way up and you're trying to use your willpower to fight against that. But a much more efficient way to do this is when you're thinking about what food you're going to eat is. Don't just think about the anticipation and consumption of eating it. Focus on the consequence that starts immediately after you take your last bite. As soon as you finish that ice cream, cookie chips, pizza, and as you start to focus on that feeling on that consequence, you're going to notice that your desire and craving for the food starts to go down and that makes it much easier to make a healthier choice without relying on willpower.
