How To Make Weight Loss More Important

Transcript of a live YouTube/Podcast session by Jim Katsoulis (Program Yourself Thin) titled “How To Make Weight Loss More Important” (posted Jan 15, 2026). The speaker explains why most dieters fail (motivation is extrinsic and focused on appearance), and argues the missing piece is mindset: intrinsic motivation, self‑image/identity, and a comprehensive personalised plan to “think, live and eat like a thin, healthy person.” He contrasts one‑tactic diets and the diet industry’s incentives with a holistic approach (goal weight blueprint/Goalway pyramid, maintenance from day one). He discusses GLP‑1 drugs (cautions about appetite suppression, quality of life, 16‑month weight‑loss window) and offers resources (free hypnosis “New Thin Me,” book “Living at Your Goal Weight,” and the Program Yourself Thin course).

Foreign. Welcome to today's program Yourself Thin Podcast. Today we're talking about how to make weight loss more important to you, because a lot of people do this wrong. Surprisingly, you think weight loss is important to you, probably because you think about it all the time. But the real measurement of whether weight loss is really important to you or not is in how you act. And so if you're acting as if it's really important to you, then you don't need to listen to this. But if you feel like your weight's really important, you think about all the time, but you're not really acting up to that level, then this is really crucial for you. Because when you. Most dieters are walking around thinking that the weight loss is really important, when in reality, it's really not that important to them. And one of the key reasons this happens is because in your life, you have been conditioned by the diet industry through literally millions of ads that you've been exposed to that are always showing you the before and after picture of someone's weight loss success. And what that does to your brain is it starts to code in your brain that weight loss and the motivation behind it is all about looking better. It's all about looking better. And again, that's reinforced through all the before and after pictures you've seen in your life. And so when you go to try and lose weight, your main motivation most of the time is that you want to look better. And you can say you want to be healthy too, that's fine. But most of your motivation you'll probably notice is that you want to look better. You want other people to notice. Okay? And this, for most people is not enough motivation. It. In motivation science, they call this an extrinsic motivator, right? Something external. It's something that other people need to validate for you. Okay? So it's not about just losing a bunch of weight and looking great for yourself so much as it is other people are gonna notice that you look better, you're gonna feel better, more confident, be accepted, blah, blah, blah, blah, okay? But that's not enough motivation for most people. So the way we get to a deeper motivation is we look for the intrinsic drivers. And the easiest way to recognize what those are is to think about this way that usually when you try and lose weight, if you notice it, you try and all of a sudden make weight loss more important to you, right? You start to say, okay, that's it. It's the first of the year. And now, now weight loss is really important to me. Now I'm really going to change my eating, I'm going to transform it all, or it's tomorrow's Monday, that's it, new month, I'm going to do it this time, right? And, and so all of a sudden we say, that's it. Now, weight loss is really important to me. It hasn't been important to me for the last three months, but now tomorrow, it's the most important thing in the world to me. And that's what most dieters try to do. And again, the underpinning behind that motivation is that I really want to look better. It's, it's fine time for me to make a change. That's it. Starting tomorrow, weight loss is really important to me. And for most people, what happens is that works for a little while, whether it be a couple days, a couple weeks, maybe a couple months, you're up here doing all this stuff, getting results, all the rest of it. But ultimately, at some point, you feel yourself go back to doing what you always do. Feel your weight go back up, your eating go back up, all the things return to normal. And this is primarily because you're trying to make the weight loss more important, when in reality, it's not the most important thing in your life. Again, if you're currently overweight, it's not the most important thing in your life. So what we want to do to find the right weight loss motivation is to look at your life and notice what's already the most important thing in your life. And so for most people, that could be being a parent, being a partner, running your business, being an employee, earning a living, you know, hobbies, personal development, whatever is important to you in your life that you consistently show up at a high level for. And so this, this isn't something you have to figure out, it's just something. Look at how you spend your time. Look at what you show up for regularly in life. Even when you feel like, right, you're lying in bed, you're tired, you don't want to get up, but you still get up and go to bed or go to, go to work, your kid comes in and they want to eat something, you feel terrible, you still get up and make them something to eat. These are things that you show up for at a high level because they're truly important to you. And they're always important to you. Whether you feel good, whether you feel bad, whether you're motivated, whether you're not. You show up for these things at a high level consistently. Okay? So instead of trying to think that we're going to make weight loss all of a sudden way up here with those things. What we're going to do instead is weave our weight loss motiv motivation around the things that are already important to us. So I will start with being a parent, and you can just use this as an example for any other categories as well. Let's say you're a parent and you want to motivate yourself to lose weight instead of saying, okay, that's it, I'm going to do this tomorrow. Weight loss is really important. Instead, we start to look at and say, how could I be a better parent if I got control of my weight? If I started eating better, living healthier, losing weight, feeling better, how would that impact my ability to be the parent I want to be? You see? So we're starting with the things that are most important to us, and we're weaving this goal of ours to lose weight and to be the person we want to be around that, so that we can start to think about the things that are already most important to us in another way. And we start to integrate the weight loss goals with what's already important to you in your life. And when you start to think this way, you start to realize that the areas that are most important to you in your life are being dramatically negatively impacted by the weight and the behaviors that create that weight. So if you start looking at your ability to be a parent, you want to be the partner, you want to be the employer, business owner, you want to be whatever is important to you in your life, you start reflecting on how the weight and the behaviors that create that weight are impacting those areas of your life. And once you start looking at it through this lens, it becomes very obvious how much that weight and those behaviors are costing you in the areas of your life that matter to you the most. And so when all of a sudden you start to internalize that this weight and this way of eating is preventing me from being the parent I want to be. And that's the most important role that I play in my life. That's unacceptable. I want myself to be able to operate as a parent at a higher level. So I want to eat in the way that fuels that. I want to have the body that allows me to do that. And of course, if you don't have kids, you can put your partner in there, you can put your job in there, you can put school in there. Whatever you're doing right now, that's really important to you. And it doesn't have to be just One thing it be all the things that are truly important to you. Although most people, it's a relatively small list. And you start weaving around those ideas how the weight is currently impacting you. And again, not just the weight, but the behaviors, how they're impacting you in those areas. And if you change them and you really improved them, how that would impact those areas. Now we're talking, now we're starting to have some real motivation. And so I suggest you take a little bit of time and think about what I'm talking about here and start thinking about how the weights impact in the most important areas of your life and, and start thinking of your weight through that lens rather than thinking that you just want to look better. And now all of a sudden the weight's important. Okay. And if you want to go deeper into this concept or into this mindset, click the link in my bio, go get the free hypnosis session I give you. If you are over in Facebook land, I will type this link in so you can just go over here. But again, this is a free hypnosis session called the New Thin Me. And it is a kickstart session designed to help you get clear on what your goal is, connect to it and allow it to kick start your success. So you can click that link and check it out. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Any weight loss questions are welcome. I work with all kinds of people. You don't have to be in program yourself then any weight loss plan you're following, if you're struggling with it or have any questions or issues with it, feel free to ask them because I may be able to give you some insights that may help you. Yeah, this is what I do. I've been doing this for over 20 years professionally, over 30 years personally. And I like to think that actually I got an email, I gotta, I gotta respond to it. But someone say what's different about you? You know, Paul McKenna's got a program and some other person, I forget what the name was, they got a program. What's. What makes your different? You know, and I would say what makes it different is that this is probably program yourself then is probably one of the most comprehensive holistic approaches to living at your goal weight that exists, you know, and one of the things we do in this program, looking this is one of the, one of the core parts of the program is the goal weight. I know this is flipped tick tock so you can't see this. So hold on, there we go. One of the, the Core parts of the program is the goal weight blueprint. And we basically. What? That's not it. I was going to show you the Gway pyramid. There we go. So we follow the goalway pyramid, okay? So we're going to learn how to think, live and eat like a thin, healthy person, right? That's the goal. And so we're aiming in that from day one. And I think that when you approach your weight loss with a more strategic, comprehensive approach, I'm not saying it's easy, I, I, I don't think anything worthwhile is easy, but I think it starts to make sense. I think it starts to feel like a real plan. Because I think if you look at your weight loss plan now, you're going to notice that it's woefully inadequate. That if you're, your weight loss plan, if you're like the average dieter, your weight loss plan consists of basically one tactic. You're going to try and not eat for 16 hours. You're going to count your points. You're gonna, you know, stop eating carbs. You're gonna only eat meat. You're going to track your points and count every calorie. You know what I mean? Like, are you gonna work out every, every Thursday, whatever. It's always kind of like one thing it's based around, right? And the diet industry's trained you to think this way about your weight, that you just got to change one thing, you know, because the diet industry does not want you to lose weight. The diet industry is there to profit off of you, but more importantly to condition you so that you never succeed. Because the diet industry is a branch of the food processing industry. Weight Watchers was owned by Heinz. Jenny Craig was owned by Nestle Atkins. Food Products is owned by the same company, owns onions, pretzels and Cinnabon. Slim Fast, owned by the same company, owns Ben and Jerry's ice cream. These companies do not want you to get in your head that eating healthy, living a slimmer life, is really what you want to do, because it would dramatically impact their bottom line. So instead what they do is they teach you how to diet. And we all know dieting doesn't work. But that's intentional. That's the part I think we don't realize. And so a lot of things you've learned as a dieter are completely ineffective. And the concept of just changing one thing, right? Because most diets are built around the one thing concept because again, they know people are overwhelmed, and so they need to make it sound as simple as possible. And if you look back at over all the weight loss plans, it's always built around one core idea, one simple idea. And I do not believe that there's one simple thing you can change that is going to allow you to live at your goal weight forever. I, I, I don't believe that's possible. I believe you need to have, again, a comprehensive holistic plan that addresses how to think like a thin, healthy person, how to live like a thin, healthy person, and how to eat like a thin, healthy person. And then there's one more part of this, there's another part of the program, which is how to program your mind so that you do all these things, you know, but when you put all those things together, then all of a sudden it starts to make sense. I like to think of program yourself. Then I usually say, like, it's like a college course for living at your goal weight. It's a weight mastery college course. That's how I think of it. And if you approach it that way, well, you say, well, okay, maybe a little bit of work, but at least there's a sense of, okay, this makes sense. And I don't think you have that right now with your weight loss. I think right now, if you want to lose weight, there's a huge missing piece, which is that you don't know how to get yourself to do any of the things you feel like you know you should do. So everyone's got their, you know, their plan that they follow. Right? Again, most people, you know, you've tried Weight Watchers 30 times, you've tried intermittent fasting 50 times, you've tried, you know, you've tried these things many times. And you probably, you know, really have one main one you do. But regardless if there's one main one you focus on or multiple different ones you cycle through, the same problem. Appears that you can't get yourself to do it consistently. And the core reason why you can't do it consistently is you don't know how to run your mind. You do not know how to get yourself to do the things that you know you want to do and, or to stop doing the things you know you want to stop doing. And that becomes the core problem you're dealing with. And that's the core problem that diets never, ever teach you how to figure out. Diets are never teaching you how to get your mindset right. I ask this every day. Give me one, give me the name of one diet plan, one weight loss plan, one weight loss guru who is teaching you how to change your Mindset, just the name of it. And I bet you can't even think of the name of one. That's how. How much it doesn't exist in the diet industry. It. The mindset piece exists so little that you can't even probably name a mindset program. And at that point, once you realize you can't even name a mindset program or person that teaches this, then you have to ask yourself the question, do you think your mindset's important? Do you think being able to run your mindset, what's going on in here, matters to your weight ultimately? Or do you think you just need to be told a plan and then you'll just do it? Or do you realize there's a deeper problem going on and that no matter which diet you layer on top, you end up getting the same result? Because ultimately, the core problem is you do not know how to change your mindset. You don't know how to think like a thin, healthy person. That's your core problem, is it not? And if it's not your core problem, is it not a huge problem at the least, how could it not be? And so this is what I mean. The diet industry has completely distracted you from your mindset, so that most people that want to lose weight never really think about that. They never focus on that, they never fix that. And it's not for lack of trying, because dieters are some of the hardest working people on the planet. It's like dieters put so much effort and energy into these diets. So it's not that you're scared to do it or you're not willing to put the work in, it's just that you're never told about it. So you don't think about it, you know, but you got to start thinking about it, because I think it's the missing piece. Akshara says, thank you. This really gave me something a lot to think about. Well, good. That's what I'm here for. My goal is to give you something to think about. My mission in life is to help as many people as possible live at their goal weight. And, and I think that, you know, I think the best way to do that is to change how you think. I think your thinking is probably, in my opinion, the number one challenge every dieter is dealing with. You know, Aria says you have to shift your identity. Absolutely, you do have to shift your identity. And to. To that point in the mindset piece of the program, the number two thing we deal with, after motivation, the first thing you're going to do in the whole program is define your motiv. Learn how to motivate yourself. Because there's another piece of the mindset that you don't know. You don't know how to motivate yourself. Most likely, if you're watching this right now and you're overweight, you probably really, you, you probably think about weight loss constantly and yet you probably rarely do the things that cause the weight loss to happen. That's kind of the gap, right? I want to lose weight, but I never get myself to do it. And if you find yourself in that position, you know, I think it's important to Clara clarify what the problem is. And the problem is at the end of the day, you don't know how to motivate yourself. Let's be honest. If you're like most dieters, sometimes you randomly get motivated and you're ready to go and you jump into your plan, you do it perfect, and then sometimes that motivation disappears just as quick, and now it's gone. And you can't get it back. You can't get it back. You don't know how to keep it going. You don't know how to get it back. You've never learned how to motivate yourself. Do you think motivation is important? Okay, but anyways. But after we get past motivation, what do we get to? We get to the self image, right? Which is just another phrase for your identity. If you're going to. If you've been an overweight person in your life, right. For any considerable amount of time, right? So if you've been overweight your whole life, if you've been overweight for at least the last five, 10 years, you got an extra challenge ahead of you because you identify as an overweight person. And you're always going to live up or down to your identity and your self image. And so if you think of yourself as an overweight person, you really are paddling upstream, you know, because you're always fighting against yourself. Because again, we always live up or down to our self image. And if you think you're an overweight person, you're going to do overweight things, you're going to think overweight thoughts, and that's going to guide you in the wrong direction. And then this dieting tells you you got to fight against that. But in program yourself, then we go to that level and you learn how to create a new self image, the self image and identity of a thin, healthy, happy person. You say, well, what's that? Well, you have to figure it out for yourself. Because your identity of being a thin, healthy, happy person is different than my identity of being a thin, healthy, happy person. Because we're different people. And so this is the part of programming yourself, then that I think is unique is that diets are kind of a one size fits all thing. Because diets are just a marketing idea. Diets are just to sell stuff, and they're not there to really help you. Because if they were there to really help you, obviously they talk about mindset, but the other thing they do is they would customize the process for you. How is the same plan that works for you supposed to work for a billion other people or everyone else on Earth? Everyone's supposed to be keto. Everyone's supposed to count calories. Everyone's supposed to not eat for 16 hours. Well, if that doesn't work for them, what do you do then? You know, and these diets are so rigid because again, they're just trying to sell you a bunch of. In my opinion, the only path to living at your goalway forever is to figure out for yourself what's going to work for you. Because what works for me may not work for you. We have different lifestyles, different preferences, different genetics. We're different people. So how can I sit here and, okay, you want to lose weight? This is how you eat. Why would I do that? You're not me. How can I tell you how to eat? So again, and program yourself. Then again. And this is why I say, you know, this program is not for most people, because most people don't want to put this kind of work in. And I respect that. I don't give a. Okay. But if you're willing to put the work in. Here's 144 pages. This blueprint. We go through it step by step. So you fill out what works for you, what motivates you. What motivates me may not motivate you. I get that. So you got to figure out what motivates you, though, you know, and then so on, you know, and figure out what works for you. But, yes, absolutely, you got to shift that identity. No doubt about. Was up Vicky. Vicky says, definitely the missing piece for me. Yep. Always be hopeful. I love that title. I love your podcast. I just started it, and it's what I listen to. All right. Yeah, this is a podcast, folks, as well. I. I don't say that enough. I don't think I got so many things to promote these days. I don't really mention enough. Right. But yes, this is a podcast. I'm here every day, usually every Monday through Friday. I'm here usually around noon Eastern. I do this live. So I'm happy to help you out at all. Any, any questions or challenges you're having with weight. I'm, I'm happy to talk about and help move you forward. But this is a podcast too. So if you can't make the live, I put the podcast up every day right after. Geez. It's up to 6, 675 episodes. Been doing this for a while now. It's really three years of doing this PODC podcast and it's been awesome. Also got this new new books out now so that, that's available to get right. It's a lower price has been been added so it's a cheaper price than it was too. So if you're away and you can get it now. But thanks for listening. Always be hopeful. Mary Jane says right. Diet plans are great if you stick to them, but without the right mindset, you will often not succeed. Yeah, of course, you know, and I think that's important to understand because most dieters, and you've been trained to do this subconsciously is most dieters blame themselves. Most dieters blame themselves for not being able to follow the strict plan that wasn't built for them. That doesn't work anyways, you know, and you would be well served by blaming the diet. You know, I'm not saying you shouldn't take any responsibility. Obviously you should, but I really can't blame you. Diets are estimated to fail. I mean they have a stat. There's a bunch of stats. They've studied this a lot. And people, dieters that have lost weight and put it back on. It's estimated that 83 to 95% of dieters that succeed in getting to their goal weight put the weight back on. You know, that doesn't even count the number of people, which must be way higher of people that try to lose weight. Just never, it just never happens. Okay? We're talking about people that actually succeed, follow the plan, they put the weight back on because these plans aren't built for them. These plans aren't built for the long term. So your entire life you have been taught how to lose weight and you've never learned how to live at your goal weight. And they're two completely different things. Again, this is, that's what this book's about. Okay. It's living. Living at your goal weight. And let me ask you, I'll ask you, have you ever thought about living at your goal weight or are you Just fixated on losing the weight. And you treat this part as an afterthought, don't you? Right. You're going to figure this part out once you. Once you lose the weight. Right? But how's that working? Is that working for you? And especially if you've lost weight, that, that's, that's where it all falls apart, is, what if you've lost the weight? What if you've gotten your goal and you put the weight back on? What happened? You know how to lose weight. You got the willpower, you got the plan, why you put the weight back on. All right, you're not going to tell me that. Part of it is that you never focus on living at your goal weight. You never focus on maintenance. It's an afterthought. And program yourself then. Maintenance is. We start on maintenance day one of the program. The entire program is about living at your goal weight. See, you dieters are breaking into two phases. You're thinking you're going to lose the weight, and then you think you're going to maintain it. But I just told you, 83 to 95% of people cannot maintain with a diet because diets are not built for maintenance. Diets are about losing weight as quick as you can, and they really have nothing to do with weight maintenance. That's why there's not one diet that's above all else. Think about it. We've had diets for 100 years. What's the top diet? What would you say the top diet is? I'll give you Weight Watchers. And it's only because of the social piece of it. You take the social piece from Weight Watchers, you would never even know what weight. You'd never have heard that. It's basic. They just cartoonized counting calories. You know what I mean? It's not a magical plan. So you tell me, what do you think the best diet is? Anyone feel, please, feel free to write. What do you think the best diet of all time is? What do you think the most successful, effective diet of all time is? And watch your brain go blank. Watch your brain go blank. 100 years of diets and you can't pick one diet that you think is best because you know none of them work. There is no best diet. There's not one best diet. Now, you could say, oh, the Mediterranean diet's the healthiest diet. Fair enough. But I'm talking about the diet that helps most people live at their goal weight. Notice how your mind goes blank. What are you going to say? You know, and I hope that reveals the, the, the scam that diets are and the diet industry is. And you know, now they just shifted over to injections, silently diagnosing you. I like that. It's also addressing our relationship with food. Eating is for fuel, not a pastime. Yes, absolutely. That's definitely a shift. You know, we, that's a big part of the program is the concept of separating food into two categories, fuel and fun. You know, and I think you need to do this intentionally because we live in a culture where we're constantly being conditioned to think of food as fuel, as fun. You're seeing thousands of ads every single day that are reinforcing and conditioning you to think of food as fun and not as fuel. So agreed. Yes, we, we, absolutely. If we're going to get control of our weight, we have got to create a different relationship with food. And the way you create a different relationship with food is you change the way you think about it. Just so you know, you cannot create a new relationship with food thinking about it the same way that you've been thinking about it. Just, just so we're clear on that. Aria says, I pretended I was slim until I got slim and now stay slim naturally. Diets don't work. I love that Aria. Yes. What Ari is saying again, it's simplified. But, but absolutely, you start thinking yourselves a thin, healthy person. That's what program yourself. That's the main strategy right there. In a nutshell. Program yourself then there's a lot of other stuff we kind of put on top of, but the very core of program yourself then is the idea that we're going to step into. It's an inside out approach to weight loss. And so we start the change on the inside. Most dieters change the start on the outside, right? You're going to wake up Monday and you're going to act different, you're going to eat different, you're going to behave differently and program yourself. Then we start by focusing on thinking differently. And if you start thinking differently, you're going to start behaving differently naturally. Okay, so the goal of program yourself then is that we start to think of ourselves as a thin, healthy person. We define who we are as a thin, healthy person. We define who we are. At our best, we steep ourselves in that. We think about that, we connect to that. We see the world through those eyes regularly. That's the program yourself thin method. That's how we program ourselves. To think like a thin, healthy person, to live like a thin, healthy person and to eat like a thin healthy person until we become a thin healthy person and it feels normal and natural again. That's a very simplistic kind of explanation of it, but it works. It works because we're focusing on what we want. As a dieter, you're fixated and focused on what you don't want. You don't want to overeat, you don't want to eat the desserts, you don't eat the chocolates, you don't want to be a size whatever, you don't want to, you know, be this way, you don't want that weight. And it's always about what you don't want. Very rarely are you focusing on what you do want, who you do want to be, how you do want to eat. So makes a huge difference. And I see. All right, tick tock. It's hard getting the tick tock questions. All right, I think we got them all though. But, but tick tock. If you have more questions, feel free to ask them. Sorry if I missed any. Rewrite them again. I, I, it's hard to catch those questions sometimes. Tree says having challenges finding this noon session at times. Sometimes linked FB or YouTube or. I keep searching and eventually find an easier way to get to it. Oh, yeah, I, I apologize for that. I don't know what's up with that. It's, you know, the, these sites change constantly how they work, you know, and so at one point, you know, like you'd get a notification if someone you followed went live. But I feel like they've stopped that a lot, so. That's a good question. I've talked to people about that. I've thought about how can I make that best. I actually have a Circle app which I was going to open up to everyone for free and I kind of had to just delay that a bit and think it out because it can be a lot of people in there and I just, I gotta think it out before I do it because once I do it, I do it. But that was an idea that in the Circle app there would be like a link that when we go live. That hasn't happened yet. But anyways, I, I hear you, Therese. I don't know what a simple answer that is and I've gotta, I've gotta look into it. Yeah, but I mean, like, yeah, if you're linked to it, like I said, Between 11 and I'm almost always on not, not 11. I'm always, always on between 12 and 12:30. So I will think about that though, because I wish there was just an Easier way. I'll think about it. What's up, Lois? Lois says no diet works. Living, enjoying life and change relationship with food. Agreed. Yes, I agree with that, Lois. Mary Jane says, isn't it better to not have a goal weight, but to have a goal of being healthier? Weight involves both fat and muscles. There's a balance there too. I mean, I think that's fair. But me personally, I have a goal weight and I like it. You know, it's a. I think it's a robust idea for me. It's not just a number on a scale, but I find, looking at a goal weight for me, I find to be. I like it. I. I don't know, like, I find it's a way to kind of pen a lot of things. I want to be healthier too, but I think being healthier, well, there's the concept of like, that which is measured improves. Right. And I think I'm always worried when I get like amorphous goals, you know. Now of course, I have amorphous goals like being healthier. I have an amorphous goal of being healthier, but I don't trust it enough to live just that. So I also have a lot of specific measurable goals as well. Right. What weight I am, what weight range I am. Okay. How many push ups I do, how much yoga I do every day, how much meditation I do every day, how much water I drink every day, how much sleep I get every day, how much relaxation and breath work I do every day. You know, how much movement I get every day. So I, I have like that general, yeah, I want to be healthier idea. And I could go into that more detail in a general way. But I also have the, the specifics of the nuts and bolts things as well. And so me personally, I like having a goal weight. Do you need to have a goal weight? You don't have to do anything. You know, you could do whatever you want. You know what I mean? Like, anyone can choose to do what they want to do. So I respect that point of view. But I would be nervous if I had a client. I would definitely explore that a bit with them. And I think we'd come out the other side that having the goal weight range was probably a better idea because it kind of focuses the mind better, I think. But that's my opinion. And if someone's dead set against that, then that's fine too, you know, some. Jody. Jody says, did you see the interview with Oprah? She said she tried coming off the GLP1 to see what happened? And she gained a significant amount of weight, reportedly 20 pounds in a month. You know, I did. I saw something about that real quick. I'm gonna. I'm gonna look that up. I remember I did a thing on her when she did her big GLP1 special. Oh, God. I, I. And again, I'm not against GLP1s. Please understand. Okay. But I just. I don't like the unbalancedness of it. I. I'm not a big fan of the pharmaceutical industry in the way they do business sometimes. You know, I love medicine. I love science. I like the GLP1s. I think they're a net positive for the world. Okay, so there it is. That being said, I don't think it's the, you know, the perfect answer, and I think there's a lot of issues with it as well. And so I didn't appreciate Oprah. It bothers me, too. Like, when one. The thing that bothers me most about GLP1s, I would say, is that in order to sell them, they really go out of their way to make it seem that there's zero way you can lose weight. And I think there's a lot of people out there that believe there's no way they can lose weight on their own without. Without injections or surgery. And that is a very intentional concept and idea that's put in there by the. The pharmaceutical companies, by the, you know, the medical industry, you know, for these surgeries and stuff. So, yeah, Oprah, to me, it's like, again, I. And I like Oprah a lot, too, but when it comes to weight, it's like, you shouldn't listen to her. She's not good at it. Just because she's an amazing businesswoman doesn't mean she knows anything about weight. And I know if people can relate to her, and I respect that. But as far as, like, learning or you, you know, using her as some kind of, like, expert on this. Yeah, I don't know, but I actually met. You know what? Never mind. Because I. I have the same issue with David Kessler, who I. I'm a big fan of his, and I think he's brilliant. I think he knows more about weight loss than anyone on the planet, genuinely. But at the same time, I think he almost knows the least about how to live as a thin, healthy person, you know? So it's like, I. I see that difference. So, anyways. But yeah, yeah, I heard that. I mean, that's the thing with GLP ones. I told you that, Jody. Remember? I told you I, I'm telling all you this. My big thing with the GLP ones that I'm waiting for because we're in the honeymoon phase of. Please understand that. And what I mean by that is that the one thing that a lot of people don't know about GLP1s is you get about 16 months of weight loss with them. That's it. You get about 16 months and this is all of them, right? So unless they come out with some new, you know, compound or something, this is where we're at with all of them. You get about 16 months of weight loss and then the weight loss stops. And so whatever level you're at, that's that. Okay? So we are right about now approaching that 16 months for a significant population is going to hit that mark starting right about now. And this is my biggest question with GLP1s is that I don't think. See, because you, you can never listen to a person, never listen to a person who's actively losing weight. If there's one person I can tell you to avoid like the plague, it's a person who's actively losing weight because they are full of. They will do the craziest and tell you they feel absolutely amazing. So people on GLP1s, they are feeling nauseous, they don't really care about food anymore, but they're losing weight, so they don't give a. And dieters are like this, right? They don't care what they're doing. If they're losing weight, they don't give a. Oh, you know, oh, my God. All I'm doing is eating meat. I've never felt better in my life because they're losing weight, right? Oh, my God, I haven't touched a carbon in a month and I'm losing weight. It's amazing. I've never felt better, never felt clearer headed. Okay? And so please don't listen to dieters who are actively losing weight. They are the absolute worst person on the planet to listen to because they're just gassed up on the weight loss. They're like, they're like addicts going into a bender. That's. That's what dieters are like. Dieters that are losing weight are like addicts on a bender. Get away from them because they cannot be trusted. And so when we, when we think about GLP1s, we're thinking about people right now. We're listening to people that are actively losing weight. They're high on their own supply, they're so happy they're losing weight, they don't give a shit about any of it. They don't care if they feel nauseous, they don't care if they're not eating, they don't care about any of that. But once the weight loss stops, because, let me back this up, what most dieters do is they trade the pleasure and the excitement of the food for the excitement and the pleasure of losing weight. That's what most dieters do. Same thing's going on with the GLP1s. But what do you do once you get to your goal weight? Where does the pleasure and the excitement come once you get to your goal weight? That's the big question. Now, I know most of you think, well, once I get to my goal weight, I'm just gonna be so happy all the time that I'll never. I'll never put the weight back on. Which begs the question, how'd you get in this position in the first place? Then? If being at your goal weight was so amazing, why are you not there now? Why did you ever go up to your weight you're at now if being at your goal was just so incredible? For wonder that. So with the GLP1s, one of the things you gotta. No one talks about this. I've never heard anyone say this. So this is a. This is a gym special. Take it or leave it. My big question with GLP1s, is that what it's doing? Is it. Basically, it does a bunch of things, but one of the big things it does is it activates your aversion system. So they have dialed these GLP1s in. What they're really looking to do is they're looking to get you right to the point where you're nauseous here. They want to get you right to there. So you're not. You're not like, you're not noticeably nauseous, but you're just under it, so you're not hungry and you feel full. Now, let me ask you, when you have felt full or when you felt slightly nauseous, how much have you enjoyed eating food? How much do you enjoy food when you feel completely full or medium? Mostly full and. Or nauseous. Not much. Right? You don't enjoy food then. That's why these medicines work. So what you're doing, right? And so anyway, when you're losing weight, you don't give a. You're so excited you're losing weight, but let's say you're six months in, you're at the same weight now. You're on the GLP1s. You don't really think about food anymore. You don't really care about it that much. Not a big deal anymore. Great. But now you got a birthday coming up. Birthday's coming up. The big one, too. And you want to celebrate. You're gonna go somewhere special. But a restaurant, what do you do? Go there? I don't give a about food anymore. And I think pleasure of food is a core human experience. And I cannot imagine my life without enjoying food. I just went to New York this weekend. Oh, my God, the food was just off the charts. And that was. I went to go see Hadestown. Hadestown was so good. And it was rivaled only by the food. And so that's what we're talking about with GLP1, in my opinion. That's one of the biggest things I'm curious about is are you willing to go through your life never really enjoying food again? Because you don't enjoy food the same. Don't tell me. Don't tell me that. Why do you think you're not eating as much of it? You know, that's what it does. So you're basically signing up for the rest of your life to never enjoy food the way you used to. Special occasion meals, special restaurants, vacation trips, all those things. Now all of a sudden, you go to the places, but it's just muted. And that's the experience people are signing up for. And while you're losing weight, no one gives a. But once you start to adjust to that reality and realize this is your life, I think there's gonna be a lot of questions. I think when the weight loss stops, I think people are gonna reconsider a lot about these GLP1s. That's my thought. Because as soon as the weight loss stops and it stops blinding you from the real effects of it, now all of a sudden, people are gonna realize I can never look forward to a meal really again. I always feel kind of half nauseous. I'm always feeling kind of full. Food doesn't bring me joy anymore. I like being my goalie. But now I don't really look forward to food at all anymore. I don't know if people are going to want to live that way. I wouldn't want to live that way. But we will see. Why did Oprah come off it? It's so great. Why would Oprah come off it? She already knows. Everyone knows you put the weight back on. The companies themselves tell you that. So why don't Oprah try and come off it? Is it not amazing? Is it not amazing isn't a perfect drug. She did her whole special. Why would she try and come off it, you know? And this is what people are going to find, you know, And I'm not even talking about the normal stuff that you hear that you're signing up for a very expensive monthly bill for the rest of your life. We don't know what it does to you. But my main thing is the quality of life and your relationship with food. Once you normalize to your goal weight and you've got the rest of your life to live where you never really look forward to food anymore. That's the one I'm curious about. Oh, there you go. Jody said on YouTube and Instagram you can get a notification. So Treece, again, I will look into that at some point. I won't get to that anytime soon. I know I won't. So if you're, if you are in YouTube or Instagram, you're watching this, just, just Google search how to get a notification when a live goes on. You should do it. Sheila says I am losing weight because I have afib. You are so helpful, thank you. Yeah, you're welcome. Glad to help you. Jenny says GLP1s had absolutely no effect on me at all. Tried it for months, went up the doses, thinking I just needed more, but nothing at all. Didn't lose a pound. Didn't quite any food, noise, nothing. Yeah, I mean, that's the other piece too. I mean it's estimated that, you know, 20% ish of people that try it, it just is not the right fit. So there's that. But I, I'm not gonna talk about them because that's medicine. You know, medicine doesn't work for 100 of people, so, so I get it, you know, and again, I, I like GLP1s because I think GLP1s for a lot of people really is the only chance they got. And so people that are dealing with, you know, obesity or other weight related issues, I think it's a godsend. But I do think for the average person who's not dealing with those things, I think it's going to be a different conversation ultimately for them. So anyways. But yeah, if anyone's any questions, feel free to ask them. Yeah, Vicki says too bad she's never worked on her mindset. Oprah. Yeah, I, I don't know what she's done. I don't follow it too closely. I know she's always hawking her diets and I don't blame, Listen, she just, she represents dieters you know, I mean, I think that's why there's one of the reasons she's so popular. I think she, people can connect to her and relate to her, and I think her weight loss struggles are very representative of what a lot of people have experienced, you know, and I think the important thing to recognize is that even, because what do we all say, right? Oh, if I could have my own chef, I'd have no problem with weight? Well, Oprah's got her own chef, you know what I mean? At the end of the day, in my world, everything is kind of mindset. And I say to myself, yeah, too bad she's never worked on her mindset. And I don't know what Oprah's doing, but one thing I do know is that who would she have worked on her mindset with? Who's out there teaching weight loss how to be a thin, healthy person? Mindset. I ask this every day. Give me a name. You know, give me a name. And I never get a name. Rarely. Sometimes I get a name, but rarely, you know, and I think that it's, I, I think that's, that's a pretty insightful idea that even Oprah, with all her resources, struggles. I would love to have a conversation with Oprah. I, I, that would be a dream for me. I think about it all the time because I coach, I, I coach smart, successful people, you know, and I would, I would just love to talk to her. I, I, that, that would be my dream. I bet I would knock her socks off in a half hour. That's what I think, I think, but who knows? You know, what a funny thing, what a funny world, right? But that's one of those things, again, you can see that that's part of the diet mindset, is that there's no concept of a mindset piece to it. Do you know what I mean? Like, so the big problem there is that most dieters don't even realize what they're missing because there's no concept of having a mindset with weight loss. It's just, it's a vague idea. I mean, don't get me wrong, people will use the word, but there's no real understanding of it. And that's what I find most dieters, unfortunately, are kind of saddled with is that they, they know something's wrong, but they can't pinpoint it. And it's because you've never learned, you know, about your mindset. You know, you've never really been taught that. And we live in the world of what We've been taught to some degree. So most people are kind of approaching their weight loss with a wrong mindset and not even aware that it's wrong, I guess, is one way to put it. Teresa's yeah, I should do it. A session with you and Oprah. We get to listen in. I would love that. That actually reminds me of something else, though. Like, one, one thing I, I had done, I did a couple of them. I don't know, I just didn't really stick with them. But I had, I, I had done like a coaching call. I done a couple coaching calls when we recorded it, you know, and I put that out there. I think about doing that sometimes. I don't know, but I don't know. Like, it's, it's fascinating stuff. I will tell you, I think some of the most compelling, if you want to call it content, right? If I look at my. My week. Some of the most compelling content. Well, the most compelling content I think, is the coaching calls. I do. You know, when I do my coaching with my clients, I think that's the most compelling there is, you know, because we get in deep with it and I get to work with these people regularly, so I get to know them and really deep dive with them. But it's very compelling content because we hit the, the same walls all everyone hits with their weight loss, you know, the motivation ones, the, you know, falling off track, all the stuff that you struggle with, you know, but we, we deal with it differently, you know, we approach it differently. And that makes all the difference in the world, as you can imagine, you know. But I always wish everyone could see this, so I think it'd be really helpful. But. Yeah, but anyways, I guess the closest thing you do is you can get this, this here book, right? The dow of living at your goal weight. It is available now, right? So it is sold over on the big A. You can get either the electric version or the physical version. Okay, it's $10 now, so I just lowered the price. It's down to its normal price. It'll be $10, but nine, not even $10. It's 9.99. But this book's available. This book is a game changer and you can, don't take my word for it, take the over. Over 50 reviews we got. Thank you so much for everyone who reviewed it. I really appreciate it. The views are. They're so beautiful to read. But again, this book here is probably one of the quickest ways you can kind of start to dive into the mindset of Program yourself then the second best way is to click the link in your bio or go to program yourself then. Or click the link in the comments if you're on Facebook or Instagram and go get the free hypnosis session. I am literally putting the finishing touches on the program yourself then. Spark program. Okay. A lot of people like to listen to it while they're working or while they're walking. And again, the more you listen to these podcasts, the more in control of your mind and your weight you will probably feel. I get feedback all the time from people that just lose weight just from listening to the podcast. So again, I'm here to help you as best I can. So I'm gonna get out of here now.
