if you put my brain in an overweight body

Jim Katsoulis says if his brain were put in an overweight body, he'd lose the weight fast because he's mastered the habits that keep him lean: hydration, sleep, yoga, meditation, daily movement. His father died of a heart attack at 54, which shaped his discipline.

If you transplanted my brain into an overweight person's body, they would instantly start losing weight. And I don't care what the situation is, it could be a 65 year old postmenopausal woman and they would instantly start losing weight. Why? Because I have mastered my weight. And before you get upset with me, let me explain to you what that means. As soon as that transplant was finished, this new body would have a brain that prioritized my weight above all else. Why? Because I equate my weight with life and death. I had a father who died at 54 of a heart attack that was directly related to his lifestyle and weight. And so to me, looking good is really not that important. Being alive for my family is. And so right away, my weight becomes the primary focus of my life. And from that point there, what happens is I choose different food. I choose boring foods that are the most nourishing. And the second thing that changes is my lifestyle. I have a lifestyle that I've developed over the last 30 years. So instantly when I got into that body, I am hydrating myself perfectly every single day. I'm getting seven to eight hours of deep quality sleep every single day. I am doing yoga for a little while every single day. I'm meditating every single day. I'm walking or moving or exercising every single day. And these are just some of the things that I do every single day and developed into my lifestyle. So I don't tell these things to impress you. I tell them for you to understand the depth of what I do to master my weight, so that regardless what the situation is, you can change it. But you may have to do a lot more than you thought you had to.
