Program Yourself Thin Live 7-17-26

Jim Katsoulis argues that perfection sabotages weight loss. Real change requires accepting mistakes and 1% improvements, reshaping your self-concept first, then your habits. He covers buying clothes that fit now, ditching artificial sweeteners, and redefining goal weight by how you feel, not BMI.

Hey everyone, welcome to today's program, Yourself Thin Podcast. Today we are talking about Why perfection is impossible and why that's a good thing. Now, a lot of times when people want to lose weight, what they're subconsciously thinking is that they're going to be perfect, right? Monday is going to come and I'm going to follow my plan perfectly. Now, it doesn't matter what the plan is. I want you to put that part to the side. Doesn't matter if you're keto, Weight Watchers, intermittent fasting, all three of them. Doesn't matter. Monday is going to come and you're going to follow whatever your plan is perfectly. You're going to start out perfect. You're going to maintain perfection all the way until you get to your goal weight. And that is how you think of it in your mind. But why that is so damaging is that you can't be perfect because perfect is a relative thing. And so you could be 95% better. But if you still make a mistake, it feels like you screwed up and it feels catastrophic. And this is the key part, is that when we aim at perfection, it is such a difficult thing to do. It's like walking a tightrope, right? Even if you go 80 feet into the tightrope and then slip, it doesn't matter. It's set up for failure. And when you're living a human life as a human being, it's impossible to be perfect all the time. You've got moods, you've got stress, you've got life, you've got relationships, you've got work, you've got all these different things going on in life, and they're gonna knock you off track sometimes. And again, off track is a relative thing. When you're doing terrible, doing well feels good. But then once you expect perfection, the tiniest mistake feels like a failure. You could eat ice cream every night of the— every week of the night for the last 10 years. You could have a week where you didn't eat any ice cream and then you had some ice cream one night and feel like a total failure. Right. So again, the idea of aiming at perfection is the problem right from the beginning. Because any little mistake is internalized as catastrophic. It totally blew us off the, off the path. And to get this point even deeper, it's important to understand that perfection is linked up with almost like a sprint mentality. If you think about a running race, a sprint is a race where you need to be absolutely perfect to win. You trip a little bit out the gate, you've lost a sprint. Now, if you think of it like a marathon, then you can make a little trip out the gate and still make up for it because there's more time for it. There's more, there's more room for you. But when it comes to a sprint, the The only thing that wins is perfection. So it's really important that when we do this weight loss process, that we internalize it as more of a marathon, something that mistakes and challenges are going to come our way and we might wobble a little bit here and there, but that's to be expected. And we just have to get ourselves back on track. This is a very kind of sports mentality almost, right? So I'm going with running, but you can really apply this to a lot of sports. That the best teams are the ones that are able to absorb the adversity and keep going. But a lot of that ability happens beforehand when they imagine, okay, I know I'm going to get down, I know I'm going to get tired, I know I'm going to screw up, I know I'm going to miss shots, but I have to keep going. And that's the mindset you want to have when it comes to your weight. And when you shift that mindset, it is so profoundly powerful because now you have space in your process for making a mistake. And so when the mistake happens, it's not catastrophic. It was expected. And when something's expected, you can now prepare for it. And if you're prepared for the mistake to learn from it and then get yourself back on track quickly with those learnings and an optimized plan, then all of a sudden the mistakes are almost welcomed as part of the process because they're the things that trigger the most growth and improvement. And now you frame it totally different. And when you do that, it's really, really helpful as opposed to any mistake you make feeling like it's absolutely catastrophic and blowing you 100 miles off the path, as you can imagine. So start shifting your mindset from one that's focused on perfection to one that's focused on improvement, on progress, on getting 1% better each and every day so that at the end of a year, you're considerably better than you were, than you could, than being perfect for a week or a month or even a couple months. And this is the mindset that really unlocks a lot more results for you to get. And if you want to go deeper into this mindset, click the link in my bio or go to programyourselfthin.com and go get the free hypnosis session that I made for you. It's there, it's waiting. It's called The New Thin Me. And it is ready for you to listen to and to start to change your mindset for how you're approaching weight loss. So go check that out. If you have any questions, feel free to ask them. Hope you're all having a wonderful day here on a Friday. I love Fridays. And this one's no different. I kind of— a weird week because I took Monday off. And, um, yeah, uh, Maria says, hello, I was wondering if you have tips for summer when fat and insecure. I feel so bad to go outside. Um, yeah, I, I think I do have tips for it, and they may not be the tips you really want, um, but maybe they will be. I don't know, let's see. Because I believe Program Yourself Thin is really an inside-out process Right. So dieting is typically an outside-in process. With dieting, you're going to change, uh, you're going to change your, uh, behavior. That's going to change your body. And then you're going to change how you think about yourself. I don't believe in that, that, that kind of direction. I think you're going to get much better results if you start focusing on what you think about yourself first, and then let that transform into behaviors and then let that transform into what your body and your weight are. So yes, I think working on, you know, feeling more confident and secure now, uh, is the play. I think that's the answer. Uh, you start working on feel more comfortable, uh, more secure now being overweight. You can do it, I promise. Can you feel even more secure and confident once you lose the weight? Sure. But you can absolutely feel more secure now. There's no question about that. All right. Because most feelings of security or insecurity are generated by our mind. It's not just our weight. Again, I, I understand weight is a real factor. I'm not ignoring that, but I'm saying that your mind is a huge factor as well. And you can shift that a lot faster than you can shift the weight and the body. All right. So again, I want to shift both of them, but I'm just going to reverse the order. And so the question becomes. How can I feel more secure and comfortable during the summer? Um, first thing I'm saying is go find some clothes that fit your body. Now, this is one of the biggest mistakes I see people making. They hold the new clothes or the clothes that fit right or the clothes they feel they're going to look good in until they lose the weight. They kind of hold it as hostage in front of them to motivate them to get to it. But then the whole time they're feeling insecure and uncomfortable. They don't like the clothes they have. It makes them not like their body. Don't do that. That one of the best things I've seen work for my clients, and I say this all the time to them, go get some clothes today that fit you better. You don't have to get a whole new wardrobe, a couple things that fit you today well, and you like how they look. And this is a real powerful way to start working on feeling more secure now. Again, you can still want to get something that looks good now on your body and want to lose weight. You can do both. That's what I'm trying to say, because I think most people will again wait. They'll say, I don't deserve clothes now. I'm not going to get clothes now because I don't like how I look. I'm going to wait. I think that's a huge mistake. And I've seen this so many times with real women that I've worked with, that when they have gone out and gotten clothes at their current size, even that actually fit, they're more stylish, they're more flattering. They feel better immediately. Immediately. And I think this is something a lot of people overlook. And I've seen it work so many times because now you start to feel better and now that feeling better starts to become a different sense of motivation to build on because now you say, I want to feel even better. Even better to me is where we want to be. I feel better and I want to feel even better is the road I want to be on. I don't want to be on. I feel insecure and I feel like shit. And once I lose the weight, then I'll feel amazing, and then I'll get clothes, and then I'll feel better. I don't, I don't believe in that path. I feel more often than not that path is really a dead end, right? So that's my big suggestion, I would say. Um, it says, I am not losing— oh, hold on, there it is. I'm not losing weight, but I eat healthy, 2 meals and 1 snack, and I track calories too. Help me out, please. Um, yeah, okay. So you, you started changing your eating, it sounds like, right? Stick with that. The weight loss may or may not happen quickly. We never know. Um, I always say weight loss is inconsistent and unpredictable in the short term and long— very consistent and predictable in the long term. So I think when it comes to our weight, the first thing we do is kind of stabilize our eating. We want to start improving it, right? So it sounds like you've kind of made some improvements to your eating structures. And that's great. Now we want to kind of maintain them a bit and see where our weight goes. And if you've made these improvements and your weight doesn't change over the next 4 weeks, then you at least have a structure that's solidified somewhat, right? You've been eating this way for 4 weeks now, and now you can adjust what you've been doing and dial down calories in the easiest way possible. But we need to start with some stability. And I think a lot of people kind of go right into it and try and just like make drastic cuts all over the place. So the big thing I would suggest is how long have you changed your eating? You've been tracking calories, changing your eating. How long has it been? If it's been 2 weeks, that's just not long enough in my opinion. You know, I think really 4 weeks is, is really kind of where we want to be at, at least to be able to judge something. So, Christy, how's it going? Christy says your program is definitely the answer if anyone's remotely on the fence about purchasing Plunge. Thank you, Christy. Yes. Christie, long-term, a long-time client. I hope things are going well. Yeah. And that's one of the things, you know, that I love and I get to see every day. I know most people believe weight loss is temporary with diets, and they're right. But in my world, I see permanent changes all the time. I see people living at their goal weight for years and years and years and decades all the time. Because again, when you change the programming that's running underneath, you change your weight for good. Dieting never changes your programming, okay? It just fights against it, and that's the big difference. And so when you start to genuinely change the programming that's running underneath, you genuinely change the weight. So thank you, Christy, I appreciate the, the vote of confidence there. And yeah, and again, if you're not ready to get the program, just make sure you go get the free hypnosis session at least. All right, um, all right, Maria says it's been a month. Okay, a month, great. So yeah, to eat around 1600, usually great. Okay. So right now I would say, you know, a month into it, you're tracking, you're doing stuff. And so now you can look at what you've been doing and maybe dial it down a little bit more, maybe another 100 calories out, make it easier, make it more consistent, because usually when people do something initially, they're not as good as they think they're doing with it. That just happens. If this is the first month you've ever really tracked calories and changed your eating, you know, you think you're doing a lot better and you probably are, but you might not be doing good enough. All right, so that's something to keep in mind. Um, so hold on a second. So yeah, so keep that in mind, but don't freak out either. Um, it's, it's also important to— because I know a month can feel like a long time, can feel really frustrating. Oh my God, my body's not working. I promise you, your body's working. If you cut the calories down long enough, your weight's going to go down. There's just no question about that. So now it's a mind game of sticking with it, you know, even if you're not getting results right away, and kind of fiddling with the dials until it starts moving the direction you want. But congrats on doing it for a month. That's a huge accomplishment. But now stick with it. The first month is really, you know, you're not an expert. That's the big lie of dieting, in my opinion, is it's always like, okay, here's what to do now, just do it. I don't believe that at all. I think learning how to master your weight is a learning process. And I think that it takes, um, it takes it. I mean, really takes a lifetime. I've been working on this for over 30 years personally. And it's a, it's a focus of mine where I keep getting better and better and better. So it brings me back to Tony Robbins. Just always say, how long would you give your kid to learn how to walk? You know, how long would you let your kid kind of practice walking until you finally cut them off and said, that's it. You just, you don't know how to do it. You're not getting it. How long do you think you're done? Right. And it's a silly question because you have no time limit on that experience, right? You're, you approach and you say, I don't care how long it takes. I'm going to do this until I master it. Right. But when it comes to weight, most of the time people kind of, okay, let me see what happens. Let me, I'm going to give it a week. I'm going to give it a month. I'll get a couple of months. That's the wrong attitude. I gotta let you know, because honestly, nothing, you can't accomplish anything big in life in a couple of months. You know? So again, I honor and I congratulate you on getting started. But now you're in the game of sticking with it, okay, and making it part of your lifestyle, making part of who you are, and getting really good at it, okay? Uh, what's up, Jen? This is a long, long time no see for me. However, I've still been around, sound, um, I've still been sound sleep, sleepnosis every night now. Goal for 1 year and 7 months. Holy shit. Yeah, that's what we're talking about, right? There's another one. There's— that's what I mean. Nice job, Jen. Super proud of you. Yeah, faithfully doing sleep gnosis every night. Yeah, again, that's one of the parts of the program. But yeah, 1 year, 7 months. That's so awesome. I love that. It's funny, I was just— I don't know, like, again, I don't know how to beat a drum here, but, uh, or beat a dead horse. But, uh, yeah, it's— that's the big difference with Program Yourself Then is, you know, I get to see people that, again, the changes last. So That's awesome, Jen. Keep it up. Love to hear from you. Thank you for sharing that. So yeah, this is what we're talking about again, the difference between, um, the difference between getting to your goal weight and living at your goal weight. That's, that's the whole game, right? And diets are about getting to your goal weight, but that's not the same thing as living at your goal weight. Hope that makes sense. Maria says, I add sauces but they have no added sugar, so sugar-free and no calories. Um, so yeah, add sauces. Well, okay, Maria, but this is what I mean. This is part of getting better at what you're doing, right? So again, you— the first month, you're just— you just dropped right into it. So it's a lot of stuff you're all of a sudden paying attention to. Okay, so even sauces, I would start dialing those down. Sugar-free sauces, in my opinion, are not your friend. I was talking this about— yes, this yesterday. That a lot of times the sugar— sugar-free stuff is artificial. And what it does is it calibrates your tongue to sweeter flavors, and it triggers to your body that here comes some calories. So your body starts getting ready for it, starts releasing insulin in preparation for glucose spikes and all the rest of it. And then that never comes. So again, they've done studies with diet sodas, and they tracked a group that drank diet sodas and a group that drank regular soda., and the diet sodas put more weight on over the study. So again, I don't know if they figure out the exact mechanisms necessarily, but I don't think there's much evidence that, that sugar-free things are very good for you. Me personally, I would rather have whole natural real foods. Anything artificial, I'm really looking to exclude as best as I can so that my body can interact with natural foods as kind of normally and naturally as possible. So it's just a little suggestion, but Stick with it, Maria. Again, you're just in the beginning phases of understanding this, and as you stick with it, you're going to get better. You know, I think a lot of people kind of forget that. No, uh, Miss Nobody, how's it going? Says, I'm gonna lose my life's purpose once I get to my goal weight. Well, Miss Nobody, what did I tell you? This is what I was talking about yesterday, so I'm glad you're giving this some thought, right? Better to think it now. You're gonna have to deal with it at some point. I always say it this way, That what most people do, you have to understand, if you're overweight and have been for a while, you have an overweight mindset. Just keep it real simple. You have an overweight mindset. Now you go and diet. Sometimes dieting is not a mindset. Your mindset is what you just do naturally, right? So if you're not focusing on food, you're not focusing on eating, exercising, whatever, you're just living your life and you're overweight. That's your mindset. That's your programming, right? That's what you do naturally and automatically. And that's what feels normal. So dieting is not a mindset because it's just an anti-mindset. All dieting is, is saying no, no, no, no. I want to have ice cream. No, I want to have that piece of pizza. No, I want to have the extra thing. No, no, no, no, no, no. And you know yourself down to your goal weight. Okay, but the same problem exists because you can't diet forever because eventually you get your goal weight and the no fades away. But the same problem exists. You only have an overweight mindset. The difference with programming yourself then is you're creating a thin and healthy mindset. It's really— that's the whole game of what we're playing here. And so you're— what you're articulating, Miss Nobody— Miss Nobody has lost 40 pounds in 3 months doing fasting. What were you doing? Fasting? What's the other thing you're doing? Walking a lot and fasting? I forget. But, um, you're doing extreme stuff, right? 40 pounds in 3 months is really something. That's extreme weight loss. And extreme weight loss can only happen from doing extreme things. So that's Miss Nobody's plan. And so yes, Miss Nobody is living in this world where again she's traded the pleasure and the excitement of the food for the pleasure and the excitement of the weight loss, right? They're both built around dopamine. And so she is exciting herself, and that's a goal weight goes down. But what is going to drive you once you get to your goal weight? Once you don't have that scale, um, to look forward to, that, that weight loss to look forward to, once you have that, that goal weight to, that fairy tale goal weight where everything's going to be amazing and perfect, when you don't have that to look forward to, what's going motivate you? This is the big question, because again, 85 to 95% of dieters that get to their goal weight put the weight back on. It goes back to that idea of the overweight mindset. If you have an overweight mindset now, you're still going to have an overweight mindset when you get to your goal weight from dieting, because the dieting is not changing your mindset, it's just fighting it. So this is why I think it makes— it makes a lot more sense Let me show— this is why in Program Yourself Thin we don't just prescribe eating, right? The eating prescription's about that much, right? That, that every diet is about that much of this goal weight pyramid that I'm showing you. So in Program Yourself Thin, we follow the whole goal weight pyramid— mindset, lifestyle, eating on top. And the mindset, the big piece there is creating the mindset of a thin, healthy person so that what we're looking to do is have a holistic comprehensive approach to living at our goal weight by learning how to think, how to live, and how to eat like a thin, healthy, happy person so that once we get to our goal weight, we just keep running it because this is how we're programmed. This is what we do. And so, yes, Miss Nobody, you're— you've, you've struck on something, and I don't want you to get scared about it. I want you to, you know, you have to fix it right away, but exist with that idea that, yes, once you get to your goal weight, your entire focus, which your whole focus has been on, like a laser, you focused in your weight loss. You all know this feeling. You've all done this where you got hyperfixated on your weight loss, right? And it's like, as long as you had that to focus on, you were okay, you were motivated and all the rest of it. The problem is always when you get to your goal weight. That's the problem for everyone. Again, this is why in Program Yourself Thin, we start day one talking about maintenance. Maintenance, because the goal is not to get to your goal weight. The goal is to live at your goal weight for the rest of your life on your autopilot. So that's a very big realization to have, Miss Nobody. I'm proud of you. That's, that's very good work, right? Again, I'm really happy that you realize that, right? But here's the difference, okay? So here you said, I'm going to lose my life's purpose once I get to my goal weight. No, no, no, no, no. Okay, we're going to shift that. You're living your life's purpose now to live at your goal weight. Just shift it just a degree. You don't want to just get to your goal weight, folks. Who the fuck wants to get to their goal weight for one day and then start putting the weight back on? That's not your goal. The goal is to live, living, living at your goal weight. That's why I wrote this book, because I want you living at your goal weight for the rest of your life. I don't want you to get there I didn't say the Tao of getting to your goal weight for the day, for one day. It's the Tao of living, living at your goal weight, living there. So just shift it, Miss Nobody. Just open, look up a little bit, right? You're so busy looking down at the scale. I want you to look up and see the rest of your life and imagine living it at your goal weight and make that your life's purpose. And now your life's purpose can last the rest of your life. And one other suggestion, take your weight loss rapid and personal development. Don't let this just be about that number on the scale. Make this about being the best version of you, the best version of you, and you keep getting better each and every day. And make that your life's purpose, and then you don't have to worry about it ending. So I hope that helps you out, but I appreciate you saying that comment because that's so real. That is such a real thing. All right, there's Kent. Kent says, 2 years on PYT this October and over a year at my goal weight. Thanks, Jim. Yeah. That's, uh, again, I try and tell you this, folks. I, I know, I know, because it's so outside the norm that things outside the norm, we don't— it's like, what? No way, that can't be, it can't be possible. I mean, I'm just saying, here's the third person today who's over a year at their goal weight. I had someone the other day, 11 years at their goal weight. Imagine 11 years at your goal weight. By the way, postmenopausal woman. So 11 years at your goal weight. Imagine that. Imagine those 11 years compared to the last 11 years of fighting your weight. Know the difference there? This is what I'm talking about. Make your goal bigger than just getting to your goal weight. That's the first step. I think it's real important. Um, Jen says, if I can summarize, the best thing about this program is how little I have to think and focus on food. Autopilot is now my friend, not my foe. PYT works. Thank you, Jen. I love this. This is This is awesome. I wasn't expecting this today. You never know. That's why I love this podcast. I never know what I'm going to get. And this is a fun one, right? Because I'm hearing a bunch of, you know, I love people's success stories. It's literally the reason I do this. And that's exactly it. If once we get off of— see, when we talk about getting to our goal weight, we're talking about kind of a short-term thing relatively, right? Getting there is relatively a short-term process compared to living there. Okay. But once we shift that goal to living Now, at first, when you do that, you start freaking out because you think living at your goal weight is going to mean you're going to have to diet and fight and do that for the rest of your life, and it scares you. But what I want to point out is that when we talk about living at our goal weight, we've got to do it in a way that's comfortable. And that's what Program Yourself Thin is really all about, is not just how, how to live at your goal weight. It's not just that. It's how to live at your goal weight comfortably in the easiest way possible, because it needs to be easy. The way you lose the weight is the way you keep the weight off. So if you have to fight tooth and nail to get the weight off, then you're going to have to fight tooth and nail to keep it off, which is why no one keeps it off. Statistically, literally 5 to 15% of people that lose weight keep it off. So why not lose weight comfortably and easily so that you can keep it off comfortably and easily? And this is not some pie-in-the-sky fantasy. It just takes thinking differently. It takes having a different strategy than dieting. It's not rocket science. It's just that you're never shown this way because again, we're just bombarded by diet industry bullshit. So yeah, thank you, Jen. I really appreciate that. And thank you, Ken. I appreciate you sharing that. Yeah, running. Okay. Yeah, running. And, uh, yeah, Miss Nobody says, yikes, you're so right. That's all right. Again, no freak outness. Nobody just relax, relax into this. Okay. Because again, when we first kind of come face to face with scary things, we start freaking out. That's okay. Just relax, calm down, okay? Let yourself kind of mull it over and think about it. I'm here, you can come and ask me questions. I'm here every Monday through Friday. I'm happy to help you work through this. Again, I told you, um, you're the type of person that I'm here for more than anyone. My favorite type of person to help is the person who does— takes a lot of action, who's doing a lot of things to make things happen but doesn't have the right path, you know? And I suggest a little bit, Miss Nobody, that that's you in terms of living at your goal weight. Right? You're running a great path in terms of getting there, but it's, it's a relatively— historically, for most people, that's an unsustainable path of extreme running and extreme fasting to get the weight off. That's typically, for most people, a very short-term thing. Again, it's fighting tooth and nail to some degree. Now, I know you're really into it now, and it feels like, no, I'm going to live this way forever right now. And maybe that's the truth. So if that's the case, then again, believe it. But, um, some people, yes, uh, you know, most people aren't going to want to live that way though. And it's okay if you don't want to. Um, Dre says you can figure that out once you get there. That is bullshit. That is not true, Drea. Um, you can figure it out when you get there? Oh, famous last words of a dieter. Every dieter thinks they're going to figure it out once they get there, right? And how many do? Well, 5 to 15%. So that's not very good odds. And again, the way you get there is the way you're going to keep it off. And program yourself then We start on our maintenance from the day— day one. Program Yourself Thin is a one-step plan. The plan is to live at your goal weight. So everything from the moment you start, everything is about how do I think, live, and eat like a thin, healthy, happy person in the easiest, most comfortable way possible? That is everything we focus on. And so once you have the answer to that, you're done. Now you've got your system, you've got a customized system, you've got customized program put into your mind. That allows you to live at your goal weight. All the dieters are drastically cutting calories so they lose weight really quick and then completely changing into another mode where they're supposed to figure out some maintenance, which is bullshit because no one ever figures out the maintenance as far as I can tell. Have you all been able to figure out the maintenance? Have you figured it out once you got to your goal weight or not? Again, not trying to be an asshole here, but we've got to— we got to recognize reality. And tell me that's not reality for you. You answer me honestly. Have you ever figured out once you got to your goal weight? You haven't. So we need to recognize that because it's a bullshit thing. And if we think that, we're setting ourselves up for failure, in my opinion. I think Miss Nobody says, I haven't thought that far. My reason for losing the weight so fast and naturally is because I think everybody in my life thinks I'm lazy, so I want to prove them wrong by doing it. Um, with no supplements and by myself, but I didn't think about living it afterwards. No, that's fair, Miss Snowy. That's why I'm here, by the way. That's literally why I'm here every day for free, is exactly to help people like you, to help all of you. I know if you're here watching this, you're an overthinker, you're an action taker, you're smart, you're intelligent. Um, you just haven't been shown the right way. Um, and again, I, I want to show that to you by showing you that even your goal is wrong, just to be honest. Because most of you, your goal is, I just want to lose the weight, I just want to lose the weight, once I lose the weight then I'll figure it out. That— what? Why would you say that? How many times you've all lost weight and then put the weight back on? So how the fuck could you possibly believe that this time when you get there, then you're going to figure it out? Why would this time be any other different than the other times? And Miss Nobody, if you want to really impress your friends and family, live at your goal weight for the rest of your life. Become a person who's internalized being at the weight you want to be at. That's even a higher goal, just I'm saying. So again, I'm taking everything you're bringing here and I'm saying great, great, great, but Come on, that level? No, kick it up a notch. Kick it up a notch. Demand more. Ironically, this is one of those weird situations in life where demanding more is actually an easier path. It's actually easier to lose weight for good than it is to lose weight quickly for a little while. Do you understand that? Right. Because again, we can starve ourselves, run ourselves silly, work ourselves out crazy, restrict like nuts, and lose weight really fast. But that's all a short-term temporary thing, and it's super fucking hard. What I'm talking about, we start day one listening to a 5-minute hypnosis session, start to relax, you start to calm down, start to think a little differently. You start understanding how you think, how you live, how you eat, and start weaving in thoughts, lifestyle habits, eating patterns, and structures that support you. We do it in a comfortable, sustainable way. We never overwhelm ourselves. It may take a little longer, but what's taking a little longer actually mean? If we lose, you know, 30 pounds in a month and then put it all back on, was that fast weight loss or no weight loss versus losing 5 pounds a month until we get to our goal weight comfortably and easily and then staying there? Which one's fast and which one's slow? Exactly. I think it depends on your frame of reference. Blurp06 says, thank you so much for what you do. You really don't know how much you help people that struggle daily. Thank you, I really appreciate you saying that. And that's literally why I do this. And I, I do have a sense of it. I really— I get so many wonderful messages. And again, this really is, you know, my mission in life, and I'm thrilled to do it. And, uh, so yes, I'm very happy to be able to help people, and I'm going to be helping you a lot more. I am— the final draft today is being recorded of my new training, Reprogram It— Reprogrammed: How to Live at Your Goal Weight Without the Fight. Um, that will be available next week. So if you're already on my email list, you'll, you'll get the link to that next week. Uh, and this is another reason to get on my email list now. And this is just one thing out of many that I give you for free to help you. I also have PYT Daily, which is literally daily coaching emails I send you for free every day. And, uh, that's my gift to you, you know, to help you out along with the hypnosis session, the goal weight quiz. I give you a bunch of stuff. So thank you though. I really appreciate that. And that's what I'm here for. Ken says, lost 50 pounds with no exercise. Now I exercise at my goal weight because it makes me feel better. Yeah, agreed, agreed. I've done the exact same thing. I lost the weight and kept it off really with no exercising, and I've begun kind of exercising more resistance stuff over the last year or so. Same thing though, it's for other reasons, um, than, than weight, you know, because I've learned how to manage my weight through my eating, my lifestyle, my thinking. Um, the exercising really is just to feel stronger, feel better. So I agree, Ken, I am right there with you. Um, yeah, Miss Nobody says, ah, that's what you meant by imagining what it's like to be at your goal weight. I never understood. Yeah, great, great. And that's part of it, Miss Nobody. That's what I mean too. Please understand that this is a journey you're on, you know, and, and don't let it just be that your weight goes down. God, it's like, you know, you just miss— it takes a lot of effort to change your weight. There's no way around that, you know, short of— but I mean, even the injections are effort, you know. That's probably the easiest way, I would say, relatively. And I don't think it's easy personally because I think there's a lot of downsides to it. But, um, but there's no easy way in life to get valuable stuff, right? To do big things, there's no easy way. You got to put the work in.. And so changing your weight genuinely is effort. It's work. There's no question. But why not get way more value out of it than just the scale going down? Right. So as I look at the, the weight piece is really just one benefit I get. Again, I take the weight loss rapid and personal development because I noticed that everything in my life that matters to me improves when my eating is better, when my lifestyle is healthier, and when my thoughts are better, everything gets better. My work is better. My relationships get better. My relationship with my kids and my wife gets better. My energy gets better. My productivity gets better. My moods are higher. I mean, everything is better and my weight's in control. So it's like, again, dieting has taught us to like focus in on just the scale, but it's like, we're going to put this work in. Why not get all these other benefits too and appreciate them and make it about that as well? Because again, when you, when you take the weight loss and wrap it in personal development, now this process becomes one of becoming the best version of you. That's the focus. And one piece of that is you being at your weight. See, it's a huge shift psychologically because now all of a sudden the weight's not the, the biggest thing that matters. Because it's not the fucking biggest thing that matters anyways, I promise you. Your weight's a means to an end. Just being at a certain number does not mean everything's perfect. If it did, you'd already be at your goal weight because you've already been at your goal weight. So if being at your goal weight was this magical, um, you know, perfect land, why did you— why did it— how did you ever put weight on after that? So if you think getting to your goal weight is the answer that fixes all the other problems, then how come when you were at your goal weight last time you went above it? I don't know, you know. So yeah, we got to start thinking differently. I think we need to think differently in order to get different results. And so it's an internal focus, um, with Program Yourself Then. TNM Com says even those who have maintained our goal weight for years still need to work on it. Yeah, of course, of course. And that's true too, there's no question about it. That— then I think that's important to understand because I think the diet industry kind of— they don't say it necessarily like explicitly, but they implicitly kind of imply that, well, just do this to get to your goal weight, and once you're at your goal weight, you'll figure it out. It's just— it's all set, you're all set. And it's so weird because it's like dieters have like amnesia, you know? And you have to remember that getting to your goal weight, yeah, you still gotta do something, you still gotta think about your eating, I'm managing my shit every day now. I don't have to manage it intensely, but I'm still like, I'm aware of like what I'm eating, how I'm thinking, my lifestyle, adding more things. I'm paying attention to all this stuff and always optimizing, always improving. So I don't make it sound like I just did this program and now I never think about food or my behaviors. That's not what I'm saying at all. I treat managing my weight like I treat playing guitar, and playing guitar is a lifelong thing I'll do. And sometimes I focus on this thing, and then I focus on this thing, but forever I plan on focusing on it. And my weight's no different. It's like brushing my teeth. I'm just gonna brush them really good. I'm a super brusher now, and now I don't brush them anymore, right? No, I plan on brushing for the rest of my life because I want the benefit of brushing them, right? It's the same thing with managing my weight. Yeah, you gotta, you gotta keep working on it forever, and I think a lot of people don't realize that. What's up? Mm said hi. I had Weight loss surgery 3 years ago and lost 147 pounds and still 30 to go. Just stuck for over a year now. Um, yeah, yeah, right. And then M says, 100%, I feel like I lost so much but that was it. No one taught me what to do after surgery. I agree, and that's one of my biggest pet peeves with the medical industry is, Jesus Christ, you do this big-ass surgery and you get no mental support most of the time. Most people I've talked to have no mental support afterwards. And, um, congratulations. First of all, that's quite an accomplishment. 3 years, wonderful. Um, my big point to you is really internalize what you've accomplished so far. I, I find this a lot too. So let's just say, you know, your ultimate weight loss goal is 180 pounds. You want to lose 180 pounds and you've lost 150 pounds so far. Okay, so the 30 pounds really is about 17% of the weight loss you want to achieve. Another way to put it is you're 83% of the way to your goal. So my question to you, Em, is do you feel 83% better or do you feel like you're still miles away from your goal? That's a big question because a lot of my clients I've worked with, a lot of people have gotten the weight loss surgeries and/or have lost a lot of weight. In whatever capacity, and they still have more to go, though. But they still feel like a failure. They still feel stuck. They still feel overweight. They still feel miles away from their goal. And I think that's a big indicator of when you don't do the mindset work, is that you're not able to internalize the success you've already achieved. Again, do you feel 83% better when you started this process? When you started this process, 147 pounds ago? If I said, 'M, how do you think you're gonna feel 147 pounds from now?' What you thought then versus how you feel now, do they match up? Bet they don't. I bet they don't. I bet you still feel like you've only lost 50 pounds or 100 pounds. You still feel really far from your goal, probably. And I bet that's part of the struggle. And there's more to it even than that, but Janine says, did you try getting isolated rinsed canned beans 20 minutes before you eat? No. Did you try getting isolated rinsed canned beans 20 minutes before you eat? No, I didn't try that, but that's a great strategy for people. I mean, eating beans before you eat will definitely fill you up, there's no question. Um, that doesn't sound that appealing to me, but I'm glad it works for you. I don't see— I don't feel I have a lot of motivation to try that, but I guess I do believe you. I do believe you. Uh, M says, yes, I feel like my doctor just took the money and ran. Yeah, I mean, that's just— that, that is the norm, I would say. I'm not saying there aren't some doctors that seem to value the mental health piece of it as well, um, but overall it seems like a lot of these weight loss surgeons really, you know, do not— I think really do not follow up with, with people that get this surgery with the psych— psychological kind of support they need. It is such a big shift. And that's why, you know, a lot of people get the surgery, put the weight back on anyways. And so even though their stomach's this big and they can only eat tiny bits of food, they just eat all day long, or they blend their food to drink it. It's like, again, it's just— it's such a bummer to me that people that get to such an extreme spot that they're going to get surgery do not get the mental support most of the time that they, you know, would probably do better with, would thrive with, you know. So Anyways, I'm glad you're here. And what I strongly suggest is make sure that you, um, you're over on TikTok, click the picture of me up at the top left, go get the hypnosis session I give you. Just click my picture. You'll see the link in my bio. Click that. It'll take you 2 minutes. Go get the hypnosis session and get in my world. Um, I also got a new training coming out next week called Reprogrammed: How to Live at Your Goal Weight Without the Fight. Um, I would love for you to watch it because again, you've put so much time and effort into this that I think when you understand the mindset piece a little more, I think it could be the missing piece for you to, you know, again, get to your, your goal weight where you want to be, um, and be able to stay there. All right, so Carolyn, Carolyn said, just grabbed that book, not even waiting for my Audible credit. I ate good during the day and can't stop fixating on food in the late evening, watching Netflix, falling asleep in the chair. Makes no sense. And it's fairly healthy cottage cheese and berries. Um, yeah, just grab that book. This book here, by the way, is, uh, also on Audible now. So if it— for those of you that like to listen to audiobooks, this is actually available now. Just, uh, went on sale this week, I believe. So, uh, that's there too. Um, yeah, Carolyn likes that. Wow, just love how you change that to 83% feel better. Yes. Um, yeah, again, we lose sight of that. And the reason why, by the way, um, why certain clients I have can— or why a lot of people can lose a significant amount of weight but not really feel, um, not really feel why. Oh, I see. M says, so sorry, got kicked off the line and totally missed what you were telling me. Um, basically what I was saying, M, is that you had a goal initially of losing 180 pounds and you've lost 147 so far. So you're basically 82% of the way to your goal. You're 80%, 82% of the way to your goal. And my question was, do you feel 82% better? Do you feel 82% of your goal, or you still feel miles and miles away? When you were starting this whole process, if you thought to yourself, how do I think I'm going to feel 147 pounds lighter? Do you feel that way now? Does that feeling you feel now match up with what you expected to feel? And most of the time the answer is no, because dieters are taught to think in a binary way, all or nothing. I'm either at my goal weight I'm overweight. I'm either at my goal weight or I'm a failure. And this really, really messes with people's heads, you know. So again, it's just something to pay attention to, is to start to internalize right now, internalize your success. Okay, great, great. Yes, I feel great, but I still feel like I have so far to go. Um, I'll tell you, and everyone's goal weight is theirs to choose, okay. But what do you think is going to be so much different 30 pounds away? And I'm telling you, this is part of it because I think that really clarifying what our goal weight is— how are you choosing that weight? Is it a BMI chart? Because BMI chart is not really choosing your goal weight. You know, you can be in the normal range, pretty much into the overweight range, and your health implications are the same. And so in that rage, it just becomes your preference, you know? Yeah, yeah, exactly. Miss Nobody says the goalposts keep shifting, it's hard not to beat yourself up. Yeah, again, the goalposts absolutely keep shifting when you're doing this based on the number on the scale or the size only. When you make this about being the best version of you, the goalposts shift in the opposite direction. It gets easier and easier not to beat yourself up. I, I get what you're saying though, you know. Yeah, says that makes sense. Yeah, it's, um, yeah, the goal weight thing, that's another thing. Again, I'm redoing the goal weight quiz, so I will have that probably in 2 weeks. I'll have the new version ready to go as well. Um, I want to make some tweaks to that and some improvements I've been thinking about. Um, because ironically, as much as we live in a culture where everyone's obsessed about their weight, very few people know how to choose their weight, right? Because you've never learned how to choose your weight. A BMI chart's not choosing your weight. A BMI chart is figuring out the weight that was chosen for you based on a study based around middle-aged white European men. So it's not even an inclusive chart, A. And then B, like I said, people don't really understand there's a big old range there health-wise where your health markers are pretty much all going to be the same as you start getting closer to obese. Yes, there are more statistical, you know, factors that are going to impact your health. But pretty much halfway into the overweight range, your health's gonna be the same or better than in the normal range, is what that shows. And so now it just becomes a matter of where you get the best quality of life, what weight gives you the best quality of life. And most people have no idea how to figure that out. So again, I'm working on helping you all figure that out a little bit more effectively. Diane says, I have finally given up the all-or-nothing approach, knowing now because of you that this is a long-term approach. Understanding to shift back when having to stay healthy. No more rabbit holes to doom. A balance of give and take. Thank you for what you're doing. Thank you, Diane. I really appreciate you sharing that. That's exactly it. Again, we, we in program yourself thin world, we go from all or nothing to all or something. So we're always doing something, you know. Again, we understand we're humans and sometimes we can do more, sometimes we can do less. We always want to just be doing something. That mind shift's tremendous, you know, because it's the flip of on 100% or off 100%. That's really damaging. And once you start thinking of it as a dimmer instead, and we can dim up, we can brighten up to 100% still, but now we also have the option to dim down to 90, 80, 70, sometimes down to 10, to be honest. But doing 10% is way better than doing 0%. Doing 10% for a year is way more than doing 0% for a year. That's what I'm trying to say. Those times of 0% add up very quickly when you're a dieter. And they start to become kind of a black hole that you can't escape from eventually. All right, so always doing something is really— so it's such a shift, you know, because it feels like you're always in the game. And so now it's not about whether you're in the game or not, it's really just about how much am I in the game. And that is such a different conversation in your head, um, between the all or nothing, you know. Uh, this— nobody says you can get as close as you want but you're still far away. Yeah, it can feel that way if the only goal is your— is the number on the scale. This is, again, this— you're, you're on to something there. Um, it's kind of true, you know. Uh, M says, literally just thought on my own, 175 to 180 is where I put my goal. I'm 5'8". Um, yeah, literally just thought on my own. And again, there's nothing necessarily wrong with that, but you want to stress test it, okay? And so I'll just give you a quick— because I'm gonna— again, please just get in my world, because once you're on my email list, I When I— because I release free stuff all the time. And so like I said, I'm going to redo the goal weight quiz. I got some, some fundamental shifts I want to make. They're going to improve it. But here's that. Let me give you a quick talk on the goal weight thing. Your goal weight, again, has been given to you your whole life. The BMI chart gave it to you. A doctor gave it to your mom, gave it to you. A magazine gave it to you. And you just pick the number. Most likely, maybe you're picking the number when you're 18, the number your doctor said, number the BMI chart says, whatever. But here's the thing. How do you choose the right goal weight? And I want you to just recognize for a second, you have no idea. I just want to point that out, right? So the most important thing in your life, the thing you think about as much as anything else, your weight. You don't even know exactly what your goal weight is or why it should be that. How did you choose it? And you're going to notice there's not a lot of, not a lot of reasoning behind it. Here's what I would suggest, that the goal weight you choose, that your goal weight should be the weight that gives you the best quality of life. Best quality of life. So what does that mean? It means we can't just look at the scale side of it, and that's what most dieters do. They just look at the number and they say, that's the number I want, but they're not taking into account what they need to do to achieve it, which is kind of crazy, right? Because again, you could have a financial goal, but if you only want to work 20 hours a week, well, that's going to affect your financial goals, I hope, right? If you're only willing to work 20 hours a week, you better You better, you know, calibrate your money goals to that. Okay. So if you pick a weight goal and I think this is most dieters, I think most dieters are choosing a goal weight that's too low for them because they're not willing to live at that weight. Anyone can live at whatever weight they pick. This ain't rocket science, but the number you keep picking and saying you want to do, you don't want to live and eat that way in order to achieve it. Why? That's the key question. Because eating that way reduces your quality of life. It's that simple. That the number on the scale does not make up for how you're living your life. This is why most of you have gotten to a goal weight and then put the weight back on. So we need to figure out the sweet spot, the best return on investment. Where do I want to be? If I can never go out, I can never go out with my partner and have a glass of wine and dessert at a restaurant. Well, maybe I'll take an extra 5 pounds on my body so I can do that sometimes. You know, you ever imagine that? And so it gives you a different approach to figuring it out. And the important part of this approach is that it's based on how you want to feel. That's the key thing, because even you, Emma, I can guarantee you're putting way too much pressure and effort on that number. Think about it. You're 83% of the way to your goal. Do you feel 83% better? No. And you think when I get to my goal weight, then everything's going to be amazing. What's going to be that much more amazing? It's 18 more percent. You think you feel that 18%? You can feel 100% better. Why would you? Just to be honest, you know what I mean? So again, I think you could get a lot of benefit. And I'm not saying to give up on that goal either. Please understand, it's not up for me to tell you what to weigh. Our goal weight is really one of the most personal freedoms we have in life. We get to choose what we're going to weigh. So, so please understand that you choose whatever weight you want, but really stress test that weight. What exactly are you going to get 30 pounds away from now that you're not already getting now? And again, I'm not saying don't aim for that. Fine. But start to internalize all the good stuff you did. Now, this is what I see every client I work with who's lost a significant amount of weight. This is one of the main things we work on is internalizing all the benefits, because right now, 150 pounds lighter, you move easier. You're more comfortable. You got more stamina. You probably sleep better. I don't, I don't know what else. Okay. So I want you to really internalize those things and really live in those things and use all those wonderful things you've achieved for yourself so far to drive you the rest of the way to whatever goal weight you choose. But I don't want you to sit here feeling like, oh, I feel stuck. I'm never going to get it. What's going to happen between those 30 pounds? You know? So it's a good, it's a good mental thing to kind of think about. Yep. Miss Nobody says, yikes, my goal weight for the end of the year is based off of the BMI chart. Yeah, again, Miss Nobody, I mean, you're doing typical things, so it's not a bad thing, right? Because at least now you're questioning it. But it's important to kind of say, okay, what am I doing? Because again, right now your whole reality is based around that number you chose from the BMI chart and achieving it by the end of this year. That's become your whole focus. We all know what this feels like. We've all done this. The problem is what happens January 1st? What happens January 2nd? You're already setting this up to be a temporary thing. You're thinking about it as a temporary thing. That's setting you up to not have that motivation and not have that mindset. Literally January 1st. I see this all the time. So again, we gotta address it now, but again, I'm very happy for you that you're thinking about it now in July because now you can change it now. Instead of waiting till January and being freaked out that all of a sudden your motivations disappeared. What's up, Baked by Jackie? Starting July 1st, I was doing really good every day for 10 days, and then the scale— and the scale was going down. Then I messed up over a weekend and the scale jumped up by several pounds. That turned into now a week, 7 days of old ways and bad eating, and now I can't get back to what I was doing to lose. I feel mad stuck. Yeah, but again, Baked by Jackie, I bet, um, it's, it's, it's right there in what you said. Um, starting July 1st, I was doing really good every day for 10 days. That's the— that I knew there was a problem right there. As soon as I heard that, I know there's a problem because again, you dieters are always approaching your weight loss like it's an endurance test. How long can I do this? Oh my God, it's been 10 days. Oh my God, 10 days. I did it. 10 days. 10 days is a great start, you know, fine. But it's like, who gives a shit about 10 days? Your weight's not dictated by 10 days. It's not dictated by a month. It's not dictated by a year. It's dictated by a lifetime. And so stop making it so hard. This is why you can't get back on, because see, you— and we say it so casually, I was doing really good, really good. The devil's in the details. What's really good mean? I bet it was something strict. I bet it was no carbs, no eating for 16 hours. Um, restricting calories down to a certain— I bet really good, I bet, was really extreme, and then you messed up and got off track, and now it's like you gotta get back to extreme and you can't get yourself to do it. And you may not be able to get yourself to do it for the 3, 4 months. This is what I'm talking about. It's the all or nothing. This is the evidence of what I'm talking about, because I bet really good was all extreme, and then you screwed up because you couldn't keep it up. It's again, it's white knuckle, it's white walking a tightrope. 100 feet up in the air, and then as soon as you, you make a mistake, you fall those 100 feet. Now you got to go all the way back up to 100 feet. Shit. Program Yourself Thin's 2 inches off the ground. It's a 2x4, 2 inches off the ground, so it's harder to fall off of. And if you do fall off, it's easy to get back on. Your diet's 100 feet up in the air, tightrope. You climb all the way back up, start walking again knowing you're gonna fall again. So there's nothing wrong with you, Jackie. Please understand that there's nothing wrong with you. This is completely evidence of why your approach and strategy sucks, because it's set up for failure. If you're not perfect, then you fall right off the path, and then you can't get yourself back on because the path is really hard. It's that 100-foot up in the air tightrope. Yeah, Miss Nobody says, it's hard for me to think in non-scale victories. It's a different language. Yes, exactly, exactly. Congrats. Here's a sharp one, Miss Nobody. You really— you— I think you have a lot of insights very quickly, I would say, is my impression of you. Um, so yeah, again, this is what I'm trying to say. You don't have the language. You don't have the language. Most of you don't have the language or the ability to see your weight loss in more ways than just what the scale says. You don't appreciate how your energy is improving, how your, uh, mindset's improving, how your emotions are improving. How your flexibility is improving, how your stamina is improving, how, you know, your moods are a little bit brighter. Most of you are— you're not trained to see that because that's not what dieting's taught you. And so you miss all these other wonderful benefits with— in addition to the weight loss piece. But when you start to realize them, you start to fold more things into this process and it makes it more motivating, more exciting, and it's more, um, kind of ties you to it, right? Becomes more important, I would say, as well. Yeah, M says, yep, I am for sure putting too much pressure on myself. Yes, yes, yes, there you go, M. And so, M, let me just say this to you too, um, yes, M, you got to see this new training I'm doing, okay? So make sure you get this Fucking hypnosis session. Get this hypnosis session today. I'm really important for you. Put so much work and effort in this. You got to see this. Now you might watch it, sounds a bunch of bullshit. Fine, who cares? But it could be the thing that really makes the shift from 82% to 100%. Okay, because you, you hit the nail on the head, putting too much pressure on yourself. Okay, what's that do? And let me know if any of you can relate to this. When you put lots and lots and lots of pressure on yourself to lose weight, you're literally working against yourself. Because what does lots of pressure on yourself do? It releases cortisol into your body. What's cortisol do? Well, it tells your body to hold on to weight and to make you hungrier. So if I want to master my weight, the last thing I want to do is start flooding my body with cortisol so that I'm hungrier and holding on to weight more. So a lot of times that last 15, 20% is really about mastering. And part of the mastering is always building on a foundation of calm. Being more calm, being more relaxed, learning how to flow with your weight, flow with your food decisions. That might be the piece that kind of kicks you over that final, that final, uh, phase, you know. All right, Em, yes, went to the beach for the first time in 20 years. Congratulations, MC, really, really enjoy that. I know you're always so focused on how you're stuck and not at your goal weight. Take one day Just one day. You know what? Take 10 minutes and just really connect to that accomplishment. And there was times in your life where you never thought that was going to be possible and you did it. Okay. But this is the problem of having a human brain is that once we achieve the thing we want, it's like we just let forget about it. I don't know. It's weird. We have to focus on it and realize, wow, look what I did. This is fucking awesome. That was awesome. Look at me, I did it. And I know that can feel weird, but this is an important piece of the puzzle. This is the mindset piece where you start being nice to yourself, where you start supporting yourself. And that's a piece that so many dieters never get to, even if they've lost 147 fucking pounds. You're still as hard on yourself as you were 147 pounds ago. You don't need to be. And my suggestion would be that the next 30 pounds are going to be driven by a whole different mindset, one that actually is encouraging and supportive to you, one that has a loving energy, one that appreciates what you've done, one that celebrates all your victories and accomplishments. That's what I think is going to get you over the finish line. That's my opinion, you know. Uh, That Vegas Smile says, I really like how your approach is also based on self-concept work, being the person who has already lost the weight and behaving like that person now. A different in common mentality. Thanks so much. You're welcome. Yeah, I appreciate you, you kind of pointing that out because that's so much what we do. And it's right in line with— I was just saying to Em that it's like we have to practice being the person we want to be because here's what I mean. Em, a big part of program yourself thin is the self-image, right? So we talk about mindset. The second most important thing we focus on is self-image. And Em, I bet when you reflect on it, even though you're 147 pounds down, You still think of yourself as that 147-pound heavier person. You're still thinking of yourself as that M. And at some point, you've got to start thinking of yourself as this new version of you. And if you, if you can be 82% of the way to your goal and still not be able to do that, that's a huge red flag because the next 30 pounds is not going to magically make you think differently. That's what I'm trying to point out to you. You would have never believed that you could be 147 pounds down and still feel kind of like you're still the overweight Em inside. That needs to change as well, right? Em says, all I ever want is protein coffees and granola bars, never hungry, but that's my own fault. Uh, yeah, well, some foods are addictive. It is true, it is true. What's up, Ames? How's it going? Watch on the daily now. Nice. Yes, yes, Tina, I'm calm. Yes, too much pressure, too much cortisol makes it a lot harder. Yeah, Baked by Jackie says, true, I'm stressing out over it. Yes, and that's not what we want, you know. And, and Jackie, you know that you got yourself so stressed out to follow it for 10 days that then, you know, you just ran out of gas and fell off, and now you don't have the energy to get back up that 100-foot tightrope again, you know, because it's all pressure. That's the point, folks. Listen, if you associate weight loss with pressure, it's always going to be a challenge and difficult, and I think that's evidence you're on the wrong path. Personally. M says, I need you as my therapist and dietitian and trainer. Yes, yes, yes, you do. That's what Program Yourself Then System is. It's me doing all those things, and even trainer. Um, that is something, you know, over the next year I really have a goal of putting out. I am actually a yoga instructor, not a physical trainer, but, um, I, I actually have an idea, uh, for kind of a fitness fitnessy movement program. I do have a program called Comfortable Yoga that I give people in my program. I'm going to redo that. I'm going to add some exercise to it. So yeah, but most people do need that, right? So that's what I, that's what I do for a living. Yeah, Tina M. Kemp says, focus on until you make it, fake it. I, I don't agree with that part because you're not faking it, you know. Again, I think fake it till you make it really is the wrong way to think about it. Because, you know, if you look at someone who lifts a lot of weights and works out, they're not— they're not faking it till they make it, right? When someone's lifting a lot of weights, you're not saying, oh, you're faking it till you make it. No, you're saying you're building muscle, you're coming stronger, right? So when you imagine yourself as the person you want to be, you're not faking shit because your subconscious mind can't tell the difference between vivid imagination and reality. And so it's literally creating neural connections. You can literally change your neural connections by imagining. So, so it— I agree with the kind of the sentiment except for the fake part. You're not faking shit. You're imagining yourself the way you want to be, but that is literally doing work to help you become that version of you too. And I think it's important to recognize that because we can elevate to a higher level of importance. Um, yep, Dan says, yep, absolutely, always in the game, guilt-free. Yes, yes, exactly. Yeah, there Carolyn says, I can't even imagine what my goal weight would be and what the doctor tells me would be so wrong. Yeah, and again, I don't blame doctors. I mean, doctors— no one really knows how to choose a goal weight. And again, I'm not saying the BMI chart is useless. I think it's a, it's a data point, and I think it, it can be, it could be one piece of the puzzle, but I don't think it's a whole piece either, you know. And I think ultimately, again, your weight loss is so personal that you need to really understand Um, you really need to understand why you want— you, you need to understand why you want to weigh that goal weight. You know, you've got to have more reasons why you want to be that weight than just, oh, that's what the doctor said, those would be my chart said. Okay, you're going to base one of the most important decisions in your life on what? Because someone told you to do it? That makes sense. And says, so I just came up on your live, just followed you. Great, great. And but take it one step further, and you got to do this. Do it now. Click the picture of me in the top left there. Go to my bio, click the link, and get on my email list. Get you— I give you a hypnosis session, okay? Take you 2 seconds to get it. You'll get it. You can listen to it. I give you a training that's there. I got a new training coming out next week, but get on my email list. That's the key thing because I give you a bunch of free stuff, all right? And it's going to help you so much. I promise you it's going to help you more than it helps most people because I think program yourself, then I think who it helps the most is people that have lost some weight already. I think it helps everyone, but I think people that have already lost weight, because once you've lost a significant amount of weight, especially if you lost 147 pounds, you got 30 pounds to go, you're just getting smacked in the face with your mindset because your mindset has not changed the way you expected it to. Again, you do not feel 80, 82% better. You don't feel 82% of the way to your goal. You don't. And, uh, so again, that points out that it really is a mindset thing. It's not your fault. No one's ever taught you about mindset. Once you understand it, it's not rocket science, you know. It just— it's something that needs to be dealt with, right? Um, Miss Nobody Says, you articulate things so well. Well, I always appreciate hearing that, right? I've spent 30 years working on that. I really appreciate that. Again, I am a hypnotist by trade. That's my main profession. I'm a neuro-linguistic programming trainer. And master hypnotist. Um, I'm a yoga instructor as well, but, but words matter a lot to me, right? I think of when I talk about programming yourself, then I think of programming your subconscious mind. Your subconscious mind is very, very literal. It's like a computer. And just like when you program a computer, you have to be extremely specific with the words you use and the commands you put in there. And so yes, over 30 years of doing this, 20 years professionally, it's the specificity of the words I use The concepts I'm using that are doing a lot of the heavy lifting and you hear it and it's like, you've never heard this before, you know? And again, it's just, cause I'm, I'm sharing with you all the best things that I've learned from people I've studied who have lost weight and kept it off, you know? And what I've noticed is I'm taking a look at their mindsets. That's what I really am fascinated by. And once you start studying mindsets, the importance of the words just becomes so self-evident, you know? So I appreciate you saying that. That does mean a lot to me. All right, I'm nice. I knew you would too. Again, the other thing I love about people that have lost some weight is they're action takers, you know. So again, um, it's really a mission in life for me to help as many people as possible with their goal weight, but I swear it's an extra mission for me to help people that have lost weight keep it fucking off. You've worked so hard, you've worked so hard to do this, you deserve to be able to keep it off for the rest of your life. And I know as you get closer— and by the way, I'm gonna give you one more thing, Em, real quick. Is one other thing that can freak us out. All right, I told you before, most people trade the pleasure and the excitement of the food for the pleasure and excitement of the weight loss. So as long as the weight loss is happening, um, they're, they're still kind of in the game, they're still motivated, whatever. But I also told you that most of you have kind of an overweight mindset, and the weight loss or the surgery or the diet is just kind of a— you're doing that until you get there, then you still have an overweight mindset. A lot of people know this subconsciously. And so a lot of times, as people get closer to their goal weight, they start kind of like low-key freaking out because they're like, I know how to lose weight, I know how to be overweight, and I know how to kind of lose weight. I don't know, what do I do once I get to my goal weight? And there's almost like this, you know, like when you hold magnets, same poles together, kind of a repulsion. You can almost feel like this repulsion to getting to your goal weight. Part of that subconscious fear, because you have no idea or sense who is M at my goal weight. Who is M when I'm not fixated on losing weight? This is a fascinating concept. I could talk about this all day long. It's really, really interesting, um, but it's something that needs to be addressed, you know, because if we're low-key anxious and worried about being at our goal weights, we don't know what that means, right? You all know how to be overweight. You all know how to lose weight. Do you know how to be at your goal weight? And a lot of you don't. And so you're scared of it because every time you've gotten to your goal, you put the weight back on. And that's what I find fascinating, especially about dieters, is their main mantra becomes, I just want to lose the weight, I just want to lose weight. And as they get close to their goal weight, the mantra shifts over. I just want to put it back on. I don't want to put the weight back on, you know. And there's this anxiety with it. So that's why it's so important to master living at our goal weight. Once you're mastering living at your goal weight, that fear fades away. And you step into that reality, and it's a much more comfortable, calm, grounded place to live from, you know. Yeah, Miss Nobody says it's almost like being in prison your whole life. Yeah, absolutely, I would agree with that. But you have to understand, there's two prisons. There's the physical prison, which everyone focuses on, but I'm talking about the mental prison. The mental prison that the diet industry has put there. A literal lifetime of diet programming is all in our minds at this point. We've got to escape it, because dieting programming always assumes that you're going to be overweight and you have to do this short-term bullshit to get your weight down, but it never deals with the core issue, which is your programming. And once you start to realize that, that's how you escape the mental prison first and the physical prison second. All right, everyone, thank you so much. You guys are awesome today. This is a really fun one because again, obviously I love hearing my success stories of all my people. It's what keeps me going. So I really appreciate all of you sharing that with me. It was awesome. And I really appreciate talking to all you. This is what I love to do.. And, um, you make it all worthwhile to do it. So thank you so much. Um, if you are not in my world, please click the link in my bio or go to programyourselfthin.com or click the link I just put in the comments section. Um, if you're on Facebook or YouTube, go get that hypnosis session. Once you get that, you'll be on my email list.
