Program Yourself Thin Live 7-23-26

Jim Katsoulis explains why drinking more water is the simplest way to feel fuller and manage weight. Dehydration often masquerades as hunger, and modern processed foods lack water and nutrients. He recommends a single large water bottle and water-rich foods like watermelon, celery, and carrots.

Hey everyone, welcome to today's Program Yourself Thin podcast. Today we're talking about the easiest way to feel more full, and I truly think this is the easiest way Although it's not easy, it's probably gonna take a little bit of extra work for you to do this, but it's way, way easier than obsessing on food and calories and what you're eating and all the rest of it. And the simple way to feel more full is to drink more water. You have to understand that our bodies have evolved in a natural environment where a lot of the hydration that went into our body, we ate, because a lot of the foods we eat, the whole natural foods we eat in nature, have a way higher water content than processed foods, right? Because processed foods are built to last a long time. And so the first thing they do is get the water out of it, right? That tends to decrease the, the shelf life of foods. So you have to realize if you're eating a, a high processed food diet, and again, that can be anything from something in a box, in a bag, all the way up to, you know, hyper-processed, ultra-processed junk food, fast food, all the rest of it. All of that food generally is going to have a low hydration content, right? Low, low water content. And that's going to contribute to you having not have the hydration levels that you need. And so in a historical context, we've always consumed a lot of our hydration through eating. And so evolutionarily, the message we get to drink more water is kind of tied up with our hunger. Right? Because through most of history, they were, they were closely related. So a lot of times if you're dehydrated, if you don't have the hydration levels that are optimal, you're going to get a thirst signal, but your body is going to interpret it as a hunger signal. And this is a core problem for a lot of people. One of the reasons why they feel always hungry, even if they eat enough, is because sometimes you're not getting the hydration you need and you're not getting the micronutrients you need. That's a little bit different story, but as you start to increase your hydration levels through drinking water and by eating more water-rich foods, you're most likely going to feel your hunger start to subside in a way that you have never felt before. Because again, you have to understand your, your hunger is not just about calories. It is about calories, but it's also about the nutrients you're getting and the hydration levels you've got. Those are the big three. And so we don't want to just look at the calorie piece. You're going to be confused. 'Cause you say, "Yeah, I ate enough calories. Why am I still hungry?" Well, did you eat enough nutrients? And do you have enough hydration in your body? And again, if you're eating a lot of processed food, um, from simple processed to ultra processed, you're typically going to have less nutrients and less water in those foods. And so you're going to eat those foods and still feel a hunger to eat more because your body's saying, "Hey, we need nutrients. We still need water." But again, our body doesn't— it's not able to see those signals so clearly, so kind of blurs them together. So it's up to you to intentionally boost the hydration levels. I'd suggest boosting the nutrient levels too and seeing what that feels like, because for a lot of people, especially if you live in America, you might have gone your entire life and never been properly hydrated, never been properly nourished. And if you've never given yourself that gift, then you don't realize how much easier it can be to manage your weight. Because again, when your hunger subsides, it's so much easier to make the right choices that help you get the results you want. So start to focus on your hydration. And again, it's a two-part process of drinking more water and eating more water-rich foods. And that's why I was saying earlier, while I do believe this is the easiest way to manage your hunger and feel more full, I also think that it does take some work. So understand A few tips for drinking more water. Number one, get yourself a big bottle. Okay. You do not want to be trying to track 8 glasses of water a day. That's too much. The cognitive load's too high. So if you track one bottle a day, it's a lot easier for your mind to pay attention to that than it is to track a bunch of glasses. That's one of my big ones. Make sure the water is clean and pure and fresh. If you need to get a filter system, you know, again, there's opportunities out there to do that. But start hydrating yourself and make it a focus and then see how you feel. You may feel fundamentally different than you did before, and it can make all the difference in the world because, again, the hydration not only will help you with your hunger, but it helps in other profound ways, too. First of all, it helps you think more clearly. Again, the more hydrated you are, the more optimal everything starts to run. Your thoughts are quicker, clearer, more in control. Your moods are more balanced, your energy levels are higher, your physical comfort is, is more improved. Because again, when you think about even the cartilage in your— between your knees, your kneecaps, your knee bones, it's mostly water, right? So again, the more hydrated we are, the more kind of lubricated we are and the more comfortable we are. So there are so many benefits to hydrating at a proper level that you really do owe it to yourself to experience what they are. And see what difference it makes for you. So go check that out. And if you want some support actually making that happen, it's nice to have the mindset behind it. And that's what I made this free hypnosis session for you. It's called The New Thin Me. Go check it out. It is there for you waiting, and you can listen to that and it'll help you get in the right state of mind to drink the water and make the choices to help you get to the weight that you want to. So go check that out again. It's in my profile, in my bio. Or go to programyourselfthen.com and go get it. And if you're over in Facebook or YouTube, I'll put the link in the chat window. And yeah, I hope you're all having a nice day. Friday's here. Hope you all have a nice Friday planned and the weekend you get to hang out a little bit. Here we go. Boop. And, uh, yeah, it is gorgeous where I am. It is the most beautiful day it could possibly be. So yes, summer is in full effect and it's the perfect temperature. It's warm, not too warm, not too humid. It is just perfect out there and, uh, I love it. What's up, Connie? How's it going? I know that's you. I know, I know your handle. Also, it's easier if you live alone, but you're right. I love eating watermelon, pineapple, and oranges. Yes, yes, exactly. Thank you, Connie, for sharing the specific foods, um, that are especially water-rich. I mean, basically any fruit, any vegetable, um, any green, you're going to get a more— a way higher water content than anything in a box or a bag, typically. Okay, so that's kind of a general rule of thumb you can rely on. But yeah, so when we get into specifics, yeah, watermelon, pineapple, oranges, wonderful options. Apples, bananas, all of it. You know, it's all got higher— celery, carrots, just keep going, right? Grapes. Anything you can think of that's a fruit or vegetable is pretty much going to have a higher water content than chips, cookies, biscuits, crackers, potato chips, all that stuff. Right. Because those foods, on top of taking the water out of the food, they also usually replace it with oil too. And then that gets into calorie density. Right. So, yeah, there's a lot to it. And so when you start eating more whole natural foods, more water-rich foods, boy, the benefits just really compound, I would say. And I can sit here and talk for hours about all the benefits you get out of it. But we focus on— we tend to focus on one benefit a day when we're talking here at the podcast. Um, but yes, so, uh, yeah, if you're not in my world, make sure you click the link in my bio and go get that free hypnosis session because I not only give you that, that hypnosis session, but I'm so excited. I am literally on the last 5 feet of this new training I did called Reprogrammed: How to Live at Your Goal Weight Without the Fight. It's completely finished and done. I just edited the copy for my customers. So, so if you're in the program already, um, that'll be— I'm going to put that in the Circle app today. You can go watch that if you want. It's probably about 20 minutes or so. Go check that out. And for anyone who's not in the program, I will be sending an email out over the next few days with a link to it so you can go check it out. But I think it's one of my best trainings. And again, that's completely free. Go check it out. But I give you a bunch of free stuff and I'm so excited because now I got this thing done almost. Today's the day. Today's going to be completely done. And boy, am I going to celebrate it tonight. I can't wait. That's going to be a big thing to celebrate for me. I've been working on this for a long time. But the exciting part for me is that on the other side of that, next week I get to work on, I'm kind of going through the program again, optimizing some things. And, um, in addition to optimizing the program, I'm also optimizing the free things that I give you. So again, regardless of whether you get the program or don't, I'm here to support you and help you out. And I've got a bunch of cool things coming, um, even if you're not on the program. Okay. And I really take it to heart that I intend to give you more help and support for free that most people will give you when you pay for it. So that's a goal of mine. And I think that I already do that, but I'm going to be kind of packaging it together in a really cool way so that even if you don't get the program, I think it's really going to support you and help you understand the path, at least to actually get to your goal weight and live there, you know, because so much of managing your weight is mindset, is really conceptual understanding what it is you're actually doing. You know, it's funny because I just redid that too. I am— I used to have a goal weight quiz, I kind of a first version of it, and I just completely redid that and kind of shifted the name to the Goal Weight Finder. And that, that's just— it's so funny doing that because, you know, I believe that all successful weight loss really begins with the right goal weight. And I think most people do not have the right goal weight because most people have never learned how to choose their goal weight. You've never chosen your goal weight. Most likely it's been given to you. And so this goal weight finder is really a cool way for you to choose your own goal weight. You know, you never chose your goal weight. Your doctor gave it to you. Your mom gave it to you. You know, some chart— BMI chart gave it to you. Magazine gave it to you. Most people have never picked their goal weight properly and have no idea how to do that. So it's really cool for me to be able to give this to you. And this is, again, another free thing. You do have to watch the training first, though. I used to just give the goal weight quiz away. Um, but as usual, if you give something away for free, people don't value it. So, um, the way reprogram set up is that's free, but if you make it to the end, I send you a special gift, um, which is this goal weight finder. And there's a couple of gifts behind that too, but the goal weight finder will help you to figure out the right weight for you. And there is a really great chance that the weight you're aiming at right now is not your goal weight. It's not the right goal weight. And is one of the core reasons why you're struggling to make it stick. So that's something, again, I just help you with for free. On top of that, again, I have a program, PYT Daily, completely free that I just give you. So again, I'm really excited. I'm gonna package this a little bit differently, but I'm really excited 'cause again, as I said, even if you don't get in the program, I still, I've got the support system for you, you know, and I'm really excited to share it with you.. So like I said, um, the first step is go click the link in my bio or program yourself, then go get the free hypnosis session. Because once you do that, you're on my email list, and then I'll let you know about this stuff here. Um, yeah, Connie's excited to hear the new training. Yeah, I would be too. I think it's really good personally, so I'm really excited to hear what you all think about it. Um, but I really— I think it's a great one. I've been working on for quite a while here, so, um, yeah, I'm excited to share it, see what people think. Uh, what's up, Pat? Pat says, I wake up and hear your voice saying, picture yourself at your goal weight. I do, but then I get up and there's a full-length mirror and my image disappears. Um, yeah, but that's okay. They're not— it's not an either-or. I mean, we're not, we're not pretending, we're not like believing we're at our goal weight, Jonny. We're not, we're not— I'm not saying like be delusional. They're two, they're two separate things, right? So I think it's, it's more to understand it. Let's just imagine you wanted to play a musical instrument or you wanted to play a sport. Um, and you wanted to perform better. Okay. So maybe you're going to start playing the piano. And if you're going to learn a song, you're going to learn it however you learn it. But wouldn't it help if you also imagine yourself playing it? If you took part of your training was just relaxing for a second, just imagining your hand, even if you didn't know where the notes were, if you just imagine yourself relaxed, calm, playing the song and hearing the song in your mind. And feeling your body kind of move with the rhythm. Or if you're going to swing a golf club, right, there's swinging, there's actually doing it, but to do all this. But how in the world could it not help if you also imagine yourself kind of the perfect swing, being relaxed, calm, everything just flowing? You're flowing, you're soft, you're relaxed, you're loose, and you swing exactly where you want to. How could that mental rehearsal not support you? Well, you'd never convince me that it doesn't, because I believe it does. But at that point, I don't have to— I'm not tricking myself. I'm not imagining myself playing the song. And then when I stumble with the song, oh, that didn't work. What the hell? I imagine myself playing it perfect and now I'm not playing perfect. That's not real. You know what I mean? Like, it's not that. It's like it's a step to bring us to that point. It's a— it's part of the practice. So, yeah. So, you know, when you imagine yourself being at your goal weight, it's to step into that reality. It's not saying like, oh, now I'm 50 pounds lighter. I'm 50 pounds. Oh, what? What happened? I thought I was 50 pounds lighter. You know what I mean? Like, don't be shocked. It's not— don't be delusional. We're not going all the way to delusion. We're stepping into that reality because the more you can start to feel like that 50-pound lighter version of you, the more you start to think that way, the more you start to respond that way, the more you start to act that way, the more you start to be that way. So it's a, it's a practice tool. It's not, okay, Jim said, hey, you're a thin person, and then I look at myself in the mirror, I'm not thin. Well, no shit. It's a, it's a path. It's a road. It's a path you walk. The imagining yourself is a path you walk to get where you want to go. And how could imagining yourself the way you want to be not support you in that journey? How could it not? Now, again, in Reprogrammed, I give you literal scientific proof that it does do a lot as well, but you got to go watch the training to see that. But again, don't— this is not like, oh, Jim said I'm 50 pounds lighter and I looked at myself and I'm 50 pounds— I'm on the same weight. Well, no shit. I'm not trying to trick you here, right? We're working with our mind. We can't trick ourselves. We know what we are. You know, the goal is we want to step into— I want to become— I want to practice being the person I want to be. And so it's a practice step. It's a way to get there. You know, it's like this. It's like you go to the gym and you say, I want to build up muscles. And the first day you go and you do, you know, all your sets and you do your stuff. And you look at yourself in the gym, you said, what, what the shit? I'm not bigger yet. I'm not bigger yet. What the hell? Well, yeah, because this, this is just a step to get to the, the goal. Right. And so you got to see it that way or otherwise, oh, this is dumb. I thought I was thin and I looked at myself. Now I'm not thin. Well, no shit. It's, it's about stepping into that version of you consistently, regularly. So it starts to feel more and more normal, more and more automatic until being that version of you just feels like who you are. That's the point. But again, that's why having your goal weight helps too. So again, I'm really— I hope you all, um, if you're not in my world yet, uh, I hope you get in my world and get the hypnosis session. Uh, but again, as soon as you sign up for that hypnosis session— not yet, I gotta make it live this weekend, it'll be live, um, but I'll email you anyways— but go watch that reprogram training this weekend once it's up live. Um, I think it's gonna explain a lot of things to you. It's gonna explain a lot of things. I think it's the best description I've ever put together of how your mind really works, how your weight works for sure, and how your mind, um, supports it or doesn't support it, right? Again, it's either or. Your mind is your, you know, your greatest friend or your worst enemy. It's both. It depends on how you use it, but it's not a neutral thing. You know, you really, really have to Um, you really have to learn how to manage your mind. It's, it's just fundamental. It's, it's essential. It's necessary. It's required. I don't know how in the world you'd ever be able to change your behaviors, your thinking, and ultimately your weight if you don't know how to change your mind. I, I don't know how that would happen, and I don't know how this gets overlooked. I'm flummoxed by it, and especially because I 74% of the population today, right now, right now at this moment in time, 74% of American adults are overweight or obese. So you're like, okay, shit, something's not working, right? Clearly, like, we've never had more diets ever. We've never had more weight, you know, interventions ever. And none of them are working clearly. Even the GLP-1s, we're finally getting to it. I said this, I've been saying it the whole time. I'm on the record. So I've been saying this. The real issue with the GLP-1s is when you have lost the weight and now it's 6 months, a year into that. Because as soon as the excitement of the weight loss wears off, it starts dawning on you. I, I gotta fucking inject myself for the rest of my life. Oh, I don't really like food that much anymore. Oh, I don't really look forward to my favorite restaurant when I go on vacation. Oh, Grandma's famous Christmas dish, I don't give a shit about it. Huh, I don't really like this. I like, I like that I lost the weight. That's cool. But, uh, I don't know. I don't really look forward to food that much anymore. Then I realized food was a big part of what I look forward to. Yeah, because you're a human being. Most of our senses are focused on food. So yeah, to just dial that down. Yeah, great. Where's all your excitement and pleasure coming from in life if part of it's not gonna be from food? She's gonna give that up. Oh yeah, Jim Katsoulis, just not gonna be thin. Okay, great, because you're gonna be thin, you're gonna realize, oh, I still got stresses, still got problems, and now I have no food ever to look forward to. I don't know, I want to eat as much good food as I can and live at my goal weight. That's my goal. So anyways, um, yeah, so Program Yourself Thin is really an approach to change your weight long term so you can live at your goal weight. That's the key. And again, in Program Yourself Thin, we build around the goal weight pyramid which you're going to notice this is a much more robust, holistic approach to managing your weight than anything you've ever seen, but certainly any diet. Right there, mindset on the bottom, then lifestyle, then eating, right? We have a holistic, comprehensive approach. Makes a lot of sense and it answers a lot of questions, to be honest. Pat says, looking forward to the new training. You're a joy. Thank you, Pat. I appreciate that. Appreciate that. Um, oh, look at that. Yep. Connie says, when I was a child, there were no fast food places. Even DQ is only open in the summer. Oh yeah, it's— listen, folks, it's kind of a war zone out there, just to be honest. I mean, it's— I love it, right? Well, I love having that. What a time to be alive, right? It's exciting. But you have to understand, we live in an alien world. That's the best way to describe it, in my opinion, is that we live in this alien world. It's so unnatural. It just— we've evolved over a million years on Earth in one environment, and then the last 50 years, everything's completely changed into an alien environment. And so our biology, our psychology, our nervous systems are not prepared to deal, um, they're not prepared to deal with this environment we live in. And so we're caught off guard. And so to me, You can change the environment, which is a huge— that's hard. That's why I say though, never go to those diet weight loss like retreats because you'll lose the weight, you'll come back, put it right back on. So we can either change the environment or we can change the programming in our mind. And I would suggest that changing the programming in your mind and learning how to run your mind in this new environment is the secret to living at your goal weight. And diets never teach you to do that. Right. But yeah, the environment is wild right now. The environment is completely transformed, um, to literally do everything possible to get us to overeat from, from the actual ingredients and what the thing is, right? How it's engineered. So the foods are engineered to be as addictive as humanly possible. And then on top of that, there is nonstop conditioning through advertising, through culture, um, you know, constantly reinforcing to eat this thing that's so addictive. It's one of the most addictive things ever in the world because again, what it lacks in addiction quantity, potential, you know, compared to some substances, it makes up for the fact that it's just absolutely everywhere and it is legal, right? It is something we have to do. And so learning how to manage your eating in this alien environment is really what I've been focused on for over 30 years. I've been obsessed with this personally for over 30 years. I've been doing this professionally for over 20 years. And my goal is how can you live in the environment you live in and run your mind so that you're able to get yourself to think, live, and eat like a thin, healthy, happy person? That's the goal. And when you make that the goal, that's a different goal than dieting, because dieting is just about how extremely can I change things so I lose weight as fast as possible. That's not a forever plan. Program Yourself Thin, we're focusing on living at your goal weight for the rest of your life. So maintenance is the main focus right on day one. Because the goal is not to just lose weight. You've all lost weight, then put it back on. The goal is to stay at that weight, to live at that weight for the rest of your life on near autopilot. That's the goal. We wanted to not— we want to not only lose weight, we want to do it in a way that's as easy and comfortable and enjoyable as possible. And these are not questions you've been taught to ask, and so they're not answers that you have now. Okay, and so in Program Yourself Thin, this is totally what we're looking to do, and it's really not rocket science. It's like once you start aiming in that attraction, once you start looking for this simple, comfortable, enjoyable way to manage your weight, which you've never done, not even once, not even for a second— once you start doing that, new strategies start to appear, and your path of managing your weight starts to become something that is completely different than what you've done in the past, because it's built for the long term. User 934 says, you've been so helpful to someone who has done so many destructive plans. It all drives me crazy. I get it, I get it. And that's why I'm here. This really is a mission in my life. And so, yeah, this is why I do this, because again, if you don't know, my father died when he was 54 of a heart attack. And so for me, this is making up for that as best I can. You know, it was first helping me not follow that path and then helping as many people as possible not follow that path either. And that's why for me, weight is really so much bigger than just your weight, you know, or wearing the clothes you want to wear. That's important too, you know what I mean? Don't get me wrong, I think that's important, but we want to add so much more to it. And again, that's one of the things the Goal Weight Finder is going to help you do. But you'll never get the Goal Weight Finder unless you watch the reprogram training. Um, I put it behind kind of a— what would you call it— an action wall. I'll call it that, right? Still free, it's all free, but you got to take some action because a lot of people just won't even watch a 20-minute training. And that gets to the core problem that most people really aren't even that motivated to lose weight. So that's kind of the first step. But anyways, um, yeah, once we add more motivation to the process by going beyond just what we're going to look like, I think that's the first key to getting better results. Um, because yeah, I mean, any change is hard, really, you know. I think it's important to recognize that, uh, that it's not just that food's addictive and tastes good and, you know, that's a challenge for sure, but it's also hard just to change anything. You know, if I sit here and tell you, okay, for this week here, use your other hand when you use your computer mouse, or use your phone with the other hand for the week, like, that would take a lot of cognitive energy for you to do that, right? Because we, we operate on autopilot. So, so someone like the phrase, you know, in a big NLP phrase, unconscious competence, um, reading, writing, driving a car, using your computer mouse, using your phone Brushing your teeth, how you take a shower, you do it the same way. All of these things run on autopilot. You're not thinking about them, right? You have unconscious competence. You just do it automatically. Well, guess what? Your eating is the same shit. It's the same thing. You're eating in patterns. You're, you're never eating in brand new ways. You're not, you're not going to wake up today and eat something you've never eaten before. Most likely you're going to wake up today and eat at a time you never eat at. You just— that's not how it works. You're gonna eat what you always eat. You're gonna do what you always do. And so things run in patterns. And once you realize this, then it starts to dawn on you, I can change my programming. And the beauty of changing your programming— yes, it takes some work in the beginning, I'm not going to argue that. The difference here between focusing on your programming, trying to diet, is when you focus on your programming, you get long-term results. Because when you focus on programming, eventually the program becomes automatic. Once the programming comes automatic, then you focus on another program, make that one automatic, then you make another one automatic. And so in Program Yourself, then we break this down into 3 categories: mindset, lifestyle, eating. So we focus on the mindset programs, right? And we start getting those lined up so that they're running automatically, running right. Then we add the lifestyle habits one at a time, get them running automatically. Let me give you an example what that feels like. Brushing your teeth. You brush your teeth every day on near autopilot. You don't think about it. You got whatever routine you got, and you're usually— next thing you know, you're brushing your teeth before you even realize you're doing it. You just did it. And that's the secret. That's the secret. That's the part of your brain you want to build your weight management around. You do not want to micromanage your weight loss. It's torture and it's ineffective. You want to program your new weight into your subconscious mind so that you do these things naturally. You want to get to the point where you think, live, and eat like a naturally thin and healthy person, because then not only do you lose weight, but you're able to maintain it in a relatively comfortable way. That's the secret. We got to add that little extra bit on though. It's not enough to say, I'm going to micromanage and force myself to do this. So I lose some weight for a little while. We need to build for the long term. And once you focus on that, again, it's, it's not rocket science. I swear it takes less energy to do this than it does to diet. And it leads you to such a better place. So I hope you all go and get that hypnosis session I give you. That's the starting point for all of you. And again, oh, there's a whole bunch of free stuff I give you. I'm here to genuinely help you. Yes, I have a program. Yes, I know not all people can get it. I understand that. But I offer nonstop free stuff to you all, and I got more stuff coming. So make sure you click the link in my bio or go to programyourselfthin.com and go get that hypnosis session. And watch that reprogramming training I'm going to send you this weekend. Go check that out. And if you like this, I'm here every Monday through Friday, usually around noon Eastern. So pop in here, ask your questions. I'm happy to help you out any way I can. If you like listening to this and can't make the lives, it's also a podcast. So go to a podcast platform, search Program Yourself, then boom, up it goes and you can listen anytime you want. And yeah, have a super duper weekend. All right. Have a nice day, everyone, and we'll talk soon. Bye.
