Everyone, welcome to today's program Yourself Thin Podcast back from vacation and talking about how to recover from vacation. Because if you. Whenever you go anywhere, it's a bit of a challenge to get back on track. That's always going to be the way it is if you're going to enjoy your vacations. So you need to have kind of a plan for how you're going to do that. And before I left, I talked about how to approach vacation, which is a key part of being able to recover from vacation quickly. So if you haven't listened to that, you might as well listen to that first to get the full kind of effect to it all. But, so how do you recover from vacation? I'm back here, it's been a week. And you got to understand, you know, it's not just the week I'm gone, it's the lead up to it as well. A lot of times the lead up to it, the eating is not as clean as it normally is because I'm anticipating vacation. I'm kind of already in a little bit of vacation mode. So I respect that. I understand that. And I also take that into account when it gets to be the Monday after vacation and realize it hasn't even just been a week. It's really been a couple weeks where I've been, you know, a little more loose with what I've been doing. So. Okay, so how to get back on track? Well, the first thing that I really want you to understand is that I'm not getting back on track with a strict diet. All right? So the plan that I'm looking to get back on track with, I have created for myself. So I have a mindset lifestyle eating plan that I follow that I customized for me. So when I get back on track, I'm not trying to do some extreme thing like cut out carbs completely or quit sugar completely or cut my calories down really low. I'm not doing any of those things. I have a complete comprehensive system I'm looking to step back into. And the truth is, I never really fully stepped out of it last week either. So it doesn't feel so much to me, like I'm starting all over again or I'm going from zero back to a hundred. I feel like I'm going, you know, before I left, I was at like 85%, you know, compliance in that range. Vacation, I'm around 60%, 50%. And now I'm looking to get back up to 85%. And so I will do that systematically and slowly. I understand that As I step into Monday, my taste buds, my body has been calibrated to eat more sugar, more bullshit, more alcohol. And so my body's going to start craving those things more. So I am not surprised if when I get back, I'm craving sweeter things, you know, more processed foods, more wine, more alcohol, because that's what I've been doing for last week, you know, so I understand that. And so my approach to get back on track really is about starting to do the things that I typically do, and I don't care if I do them perfectly. That's one of the biggest things I could share with you. And again, I know this doesn't make a lot of sense in dieting, because in dieting you're all or nothing, but program yourself, then we're all or something. And so again, when I go on vacation, I'm not completely leaving everything I do. I. I'm still doing a lot of it. And now when I get back here, I'm not looking to go right back to 100%. I'm looking to go, let's just say 50% to 70% this week, to 98, you know, 80, 85% next week. And then, you know, move it up to where I want to go so I can do this kind of systematically and strategically so that I start, you know, with some of the basics right now. What do I mean? I come to my lifestyle habits and I'll start with those before I get to the eating piece, which I know is probably what you want to know about. But I'll start my water now. My water never even flagged last week. That was a big breakthrough for me because typically the water where I go isn't that great. And I don't drink a lot of water. This time I brought a water filter. And so my water consumption stayed the exact same all week long. But again, I'm back to drinking it here in the way that I do it here. Back to my meditations, which again, I maintained as well, but I'm doing them longer. Back to moving and walking more, back to doing my stretching at night before I go to bed, you know, back to kind of a lot of my lifestyle routines. Now, eating wise, it's similar. I'm looking to get myself back on track now. What's that look like? Well, I want to get my normal breakfast. I eat the same breakfast Monday through Friday. So I want to start by eating there. I noticed today I'm hungrier than I typically am at breakfast. Okay. So luckily today I just, I had a Lot of work to do, so I just did that. But if I got into today and I'm feeling a lot more cravings for food, if I eat a little more today, I don't care. Because to me, the first week really is about getting my core habits back in place, getting my breakfast in place, my lunch in place, my dinner's in place, my lifestyle routines in place. And if in between, all of a sudden this week here, a couple times I get a muffin or a donut or something between breakfast and lunch, I'm okay with that. You know what I mean? Again, I look at this as a re entry week where I'm really focusing on doing the things I normally want to do, getting those put back in place and then starting to do more and more and more of those and build on those. So it's different than diving right back into a perfect plan. And so for me, I don't feel any stress, I don't feel any nervousness or worry about getting back on track because I don't set a goal of being perfect for myself. I really just want to be better. And again, for me, being better is getting my breakfast, my lunch, my dinner is back in place, and also having more grace with myself. You know, understand that I have been on vacation and I have been kind of in vacation mode with it. And so if I crave, you know, sweeter, more processed foods, that's okay. You know, if I eat a little bit more than this week, it's not the end of the world. And next week, once I have my foundation kind of underneath me again, then I will go to work on cutting those sweet, sweeter foods out, the extra foods out. Okay? But I'm not going to try and do all of that this week, right away. And beyond that, mindset wise, you know, when I get back, I did put weight on and I don't know, I put about four or five pounds on and I don't give a shit. You know, again, it doesn't matter because I was. Last week was an outlier week. How I lived, how I ate, what I did. Last week's a lot different than what I normally do. And so me putting some weight on, it doesn't matter. You know, again, you know, you do this naturally. Like if you eat well for a week, you don't think that's really gonna do much for your weight, right? But if you overeat, it makes it feel like you've totally blown everything forever. You haven't. You know, if you overeat for a week and you put five pounds on and you start to go back to a normal routine. When you get back, your weight's gonna go back down too. So again, mindset wise, I am okay. You know, I acknowledge and understand that I put some weight on because I was eating more stuff last week. I get it. Not a big deal. Because as I get back into my normal routines, my, my calorie consumption is going to go down, my weight's going to go down. And so I'm okay with that whole process and I'm prepared for it. And so I don't have any stress. I'm not freaking out when I look at the scale and see when I'm five pounds. I was expecting that. And so it's no big deal. And so I'll drop it over the next couple weeks, you know, my weight will go right back to where it was and I will be relaxed and calm that entire process, which I think also supports that process. So, you know, here's just a couple ideas for you, but for you, if you are starting, maybe you don't have the structures that I have in place and you want to recover from your vacation. My suggestion to you is that you start by focusing on what you consider to be the most important habit. Maybe it's sleeping, maybe it's water. Lifestyle habit. Maybe it's sleeping, maybe it's water, maybe it's moving more, maybe it's relaxing, maybe it's nourishing your body, maybe it's meditation. Focus on one of those things and start doing those, those kind of anchor you down into your other mindset then eating wise, same type of thing. I would suggest that you start by really locking in your breakfast. Get your breakfast fixed in first because that becomes the foundation which you build upon. All right, so those are my two big suggestions for you. Don't try and change everything all at once. When you're coming back from vacation, be strategic about it and choose certain things that you can build upon and have a longer term time frame in your mind. You know, even if you put £5 on a week doesn't mean you have to lose it the next week. If you lose it over the next two or three weeks, who gives a shit? What, what, what difference does it make? Because then the goal here is not to lose weight, it's to live at your goal weight. And so when you go back to your normal routines, your weight's going to go back to its normal weight. All right? So just relax about that piece as well. And so I hope all these things help you out if you want more support with this, click the link in my bio or go to program yourself. Then go get the free hypnosis session I give you. I made a training video for you, and I got a bunch of cool stuff coming. So go check that out. And if anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them. It's nice to be back. Great vacation, but I always miss you all when I'm gone. Tough. Toasted bagel, cream cheese. All right, what's going on? Yeah, things are going great for me. I had a super duper vacation, super relaxing vacation, I would say. Definitely one of the more relaxing ones I've had in a while. So it was good.
And everything went super smooth as well. So everything. It was just a smooth vacation, I would say. Even though. Even though we take a ferry to get over there and I missed the ferry. I left too early. It's, you know, it's. With no traffic, it takes us about five and a half hours to get to it. But I didn't factor in the traffic, so we missed that. But it didn't even matter. It was such a smooth trip. It was nice. But anyways. What's up, Jody? How's it going? Yes. Welcome back. Thank you. It's nice to be back. Nice to see you all again. I know. Jump right back into it. That's how you know, though, I guess I always think that, you know, it's like, I love going on vacation. I really, really love going on vacation. But I also love coming home. And I guess that's a good sign, right? Because if you're, like, coming home, like, going back to work, that's. That's pretty good. So I feel very blessed.
What's up, Sherry? Sharing. Hi, Jim. I see you. I hope you had a wonderful vacation. I did have a wonderful vacation. It was so nice. Like I said, it was just. Just relaxing. The weather was nice. It was nice. Nice time.
Heather says, what is self hypnosis, exactly? Now, that's a great question. And, you know, I swear every time I get asked this question, I answer it a little differently. So I'm going to look to answer it in a consistent way here because I have a kind of a couple different explanations of what self hypnosis is. All right, so I'll give you the one that I think is most practical in which I really build everything around personally and I believe what self hypnosis is. It's how we talk to ourselves. So I'm a big believer that we are all our own best or worst hypnotist, because we're all up in our head talking to ourselves, and we have an internal dialogue. That's what we call it in hypnosis, internal dialogue, where you're constantly chattering away to yourself. Now, most people have a very negative voice in their head, and it could be, you know, it doesn't. You can have a great parent, by the way. You have great parents, but they were also the disciplinarian. And so sometimes we internalize that voice, and sometimes people didn't have great parents on top of it. But even if you had great parents, you might have internalized their disciplinarian voice. And that's how you talk to yourself a lot now. And what ends up happening is this. This internal dialogue, this running dialogue that you have inside your head all day and night long, really, really strongly influences you. And most likely you've never even learned about this voice. You might have a general sense that you kind of talk to yourself, but you may not realize just the total and complete impact this talking to yourself has on you day in and day out. It's constantly this whispering in your ear, and it's literally dictating and creating your reality, what you think is possible, how you think you can achieve it, everything. So to me, self hypnosis is taking control of that process and. And learning how to speak to yourself differently. And so I believe that all hypnosis is self hypnosis. I don't really. I am a hypnotist. I'm a master hypnotist. I've had a hypnosis office where I literally. People come and pay me money, and I hypnotize them. So I know what it's like to be a hypnotist. And for certain things, that's a great. That really works well. Okay. So there's a lot of things. You can just go see a hypnotist, get your hypnosis done, and you're. You're fixed, you're better. Okay. Weight loss is not one of them, in my opinion, because ultimately, weight loss is such a big thing, you know, like a phobia. You don't have to do any self hypnosis. You got a phobia, you come in about 15 minutes, I should be able to fix it. Okay. And you're done and done, Done and done. See you later. Never need to come back. Okay. With weight, it's different because weight loss, it's just so many different components that you make. It's estimated to make over 200 food decisions a day. So to change your weight means you have to change your behaviors. And I believe in order to change your behaviors, you have got to learn how to run your own head. I've been doing this for over 20 years and I have professionally and I have hypnotized people. And what I typically see is the people that are most suggestible and seem to get the best results initially if they don't learn how to do the process to themselves, it doesn't last. So what I've seen work 100% of the time when a person commits to it is when you start to run your own mind, when you understand how to run your own thinking and what you're saying to yourself. That's how you get the best results possible. So to me, self hypnosis is really the process of how to program your own mind. And that is literally the core of program yourself then, which is that we're learning how to run our own brains, not just how to speak to ourselves, but really how to run our minds. And one piece of that is how we talk to ourselves. So we start to be more supportive, more encouraging, more honest, more aware of what we're doing as we move forward. And so we gain more control over our mind and our bodies. So that's what I think of self hypnosis as. And yes, there are hypnosis sessions you listen to right now. A lot of times people think of that as self hypnosis. I think of that as hypnosis. I think of self hypnosis. And program yourself, then use the program yourself then technique. It's just, it's a 60 second self hypnosis exercise. But that's where you run your own mind. And I'll give you an example of what you may do. So one of the things we may do, say you went and you had a, you know, you had lunch, you had a healthy lunch, great lunch, and then in the afternoon, you went to the vending machine and got a bag of cookies. Okay? Say you're not happy with that decision. Now, most people in that situation are going to beat themselves up, right? You're going to say, God, what'd you do? You did so good. And then you screwed it all up. That's what you always do. You always screw it up. You're always messing it up. Why can't you stick to anything? Why always struggling. That's what a lot of people are going to say to themselves. And program yourself. Then what you're going to learn to say to yourselves. Wait, wait a second. That's not what we want to do. We want to lose weight. We want to feel better, we want to be happier. If I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, what could I have done differently? And so we start to speak to ourselves differently about what's going on. And that is the first step to really finding better solutions and getting ourselves to follow them. And that to me is the heart and soul of programming yourself then. And self hypnosis is being able to take control of your own mind. Because I believe mindset's ground zero of your change. And if you're always putting yourself down it, you wouldn't believe it. I mean, I wouldn't have believed that if I hadn't. I've done almost 6,000 private weight loss sessions, so I would not believe this if I hadn't seen my own eyes. But you know, I see people, they'll be losing weight and they'll feel discouraged and frustrated. You all know this, right? I mean, geez, it's estimated that, you know, 95% of people that lose weight on a diet put it back on. So how do we explain that, right? They've got the ability to lose the weight, they can't keep it up because they don't know how to change their mindset. So to me, ultimately self hypnosis is the whole story. And I don't know, I just. Unless you just luck out magically, I think trying to create change in your life without understanding self hypnosis is virtually impossible. And I don't say that lightly. I genuinely think if you can't get some influence over what you're saying to yourself and what you're thinking and what you're feeling regularly, I don't know how you would maintain your success. I don't even know, you know. So that's my idea of self hypnosis. But again, if you go to my bio or if you go to program yourself then dot com, you can go experience hypnosis as well. I'll give you a free hypnosis session. It's a really great one. It's called the New Thin Me. It's a kickstart session designed to get you clear headed, focused, motivated and all, you know, inspired to, you know, start doing the right things to lose weight. So go check that out and experience it firsthand, you know, because it'll be quite an experience for you probably. But yeah, if anyone's got any questions, feel free to ask them. I see Casey saying, where do I start?
I don't even know what that means. Does that mean where do I start with the program where do I start with the hypnosis session? Where do I start losing weight?
So I will say where you start with program yourself then is you go and click the link in my bio, or you go to program yourself then.com and go get the free hypnosis session. Go watch the training I made. I mean, the training's 20 minutes. You know, it's like when I tell you, and I don't. Again, I don't say this stuff lightly. I want you to know this. When I tell you that you're completely on the wrong path with your weight loss. I mean it very, very literally. I genuinely mean that. I think that dieting, you. You've been taught to diet your whole life and it doesn't work, but it's the only thing you know. You know. So again, once you get a different.
Once you get a different.
Perspective on this, it's a lot easier. It really is. I mean, well, I'm not saying weight loss is easy. No change is really easy. But weight loss is way easier than you think it is. You've been trained to lose weight like a dieter, and dieting doesn't work. So, you know, because of what you've been taught about weight loss, you now believe that it's impossible for you to lose weight. And I would agree that it is impossible for you to lose weight as a dieter. You know, the numbers don't lie. So I do think that is true. But you absolutely can master your weight if you approach it differently. You know, Casey says, lost a lot of weight last year eating nothing. Now I gained it all back and even more binging for months. Yeah, I'm sorry to hear that, Casey. Again, your story is the reason I'm even here.
Literally, and I really mean this. The reason I come here every day for free is literally people like Casey who put all this effort and energy into losing weight like a dieter, and lose some weight and then put it all back on. Because again, dieting is about losing weight. Program yourself then, is about living at your goal weight for the rest of your life on your autopilot. Those are two totally different things. You've been conditioned by the diet industry. Just think about losing weight fast, as fast as you possibly can. And when you think about weight loss that way, you think of it like a sprint. You think the goal is just to get to your goal weight as fast as you possibly can. And you do things like that, like you just starve yourself. You just stop eating. You cut all the calories down, you stop eating carbs, you stop eating Sugar. You do this short term approach, this really intense, extreme short term approach. And to prove the point, you do the exact same approach every diet. That's why every diet fails, by the way. There's not, there's been a hundred years of diets. There's not one diet that, that rises to the top as being very effective long term, not a single one. Isn't that crazy? And that's what you have to do. You have to start looking at the diets not as the nutritional philosophies because that'll confuse you because they all have different nutritional philosophies, but they're all exactly the same because of their mindsets. It doesn't matter what, what unifies vegan car, low carb, low fat, keto Paleo, one meal a day, intermittent fasting, Mediterranean diet, slim, fast weight watchers. What unifies them and makes them all the same is that you're going to approach all of those exactly the same way. You're going to jump into each one of them 100 on Monday morning and you're going to try and be perfect with any of them as long as you can until you reach your goal weight. And the second you make a mistake, though, it's very difficult to stay on track. You've got an all or nothing mindset. So the mindset that has been installed into your brain about how to lose weight is completely wrong. And you're trying to lose weight with an incorrect map and strategy, and that's where you're at. And so again, the focus needs to be on living at your goal weight, not just getting there as quick as possible. The metaphor I always use sticking back with the sprint is that you dieters are like sprinters in a marathon, meaning that you're going to run a marathon, right? You're at the, the starting line for the marathon and they're about to shoot the gun and you say, you know what, I'm gonna, I'm gonna win. Everything's out. You know what I'm gonna do? I'm just gonna sprint the whole thing. No one's ever thought of that. I'm just gonna sprint the whole marathon. Then I'm definitely gonna win. Gun goes off and you start sprinting. And for the first eighth of a mile, you're way out in front of everyone. You're, you're way ahead. You're looking back like, holy, I can't believe my plan's really working. You're way ahead. But then you collapse. Next eighth of a mile. And then though, here's where The. The part is. This is. The big problem is you say, oh, God damn it. I was doing so good. You know what I need to do? I just need to try harder. I need to try harder. I need to sprint further. Well, guess what? You can never. You can't sprint a marathon. It's the wrong strategy for the race. You see what I mean? And that's how you are with your weight loss. You're all been conditioned to sprint a marathon because your weight is a marathon. Yes, it is. I know that freaks you out. You're only good, I got to diet forever. No, you don't have to diet forever, but how long do you want to live at your goal weight for? Wait, how long? Yeah, Forever. You always forever want to live at your goal weight, right? So you need to come up with a plan that feels comfortable. This is how I can go on vacation, come back from account. I'm calm. I'm cool as a cucumber. I'm gonna get right back on my plan. I'm already back on it. I'll get more and more on it as the week goes on. The next couple weeks go on. But again, I got a firm foundation. I love. I love how I control my weight. I love how I think, live and eat in order to have control and live in my goal weight. I love it. So for me to get back on track's not that hard. I mean, get me wrong, I enjoy eating, too, for a week. It's fun, you know? But I love getting back on track, too, because the plan is customized for me. And program yourself. Then it's like you go, there's three main parts to it, right? But one of the main parts is the goal weight blueprints. Okay? This is a blueprint that takes you through the goal weight pyramid, which is mindset lifestyle eating, right? That simple. And so you go through the questions, so you create your own mindset of you. How do you need to think in order to live at your goal weight? How do you need to live in order to live at your goal weight? How do you need to eat in order to live at your goal weight? And all the strategies are built around you because you're different than me. What motivates me and what motivates you is probably different. You know what I mean? Like. Like what I want to do in my lifestyle is probably different than yours. So you got to figure out what works for you. But once you have a customized plan that's built around you, it still takes effort. Don't get me written. Still takes Me, effort to follow it and do it. No, no doubt. But it's not. It's way easier than trying to follow some dumbass diet that wasn't built for you at all. You know, I don't know. And so. And then again, Casey, because you're seeing it now, right? So you say, Yeah, I lost 70 pounds and maintained the same weight for a year, but for some reason now I'm all over the place. Yeah, loop. It is a loop. And there's a lot of reasons why. I mean, nice job. Maintaining for a year is pretty good. But again, I think what you're going to find, Casey, is that you did something extreme that was very difficult to keep up. It was very difficult for you to eat such low calories for a long time. And I bet something stressful happened, threw you off track, and you couldn't maintain that intense calorie restriction. And I. I don't know your story, but it's the same story every dieter shares with me. It's always the same story, ultimately. And, you know, again, you have no mindset component, probably. So you have no. In program yourself in the mindset section, there's six components. Because if I say to you, okay, create the mind. You got to create the mindset of a thin, healthy person in order to be a thin, healthy person. I can say that to you, and you might even say, yeah, you know what? You're right. I need a. I need to shift my mindset. But now I say to you, okay, go ahead and shift it. How do you shift your mindset? How are you going to shift your mindset to think like a thin, healthy person? How? You. You probably have no idea how to even go about that. And what's even worse than that, beyond the fact you have no idea how to create a thin, healthy mindset, is that you don't even know where to look. You don't even know where to look to create a thin, healthy mindset. I ask this every day. Where would you say you wanted to learn how to create a thin, healthy mindset? Say finally, all of a sudden, say, jesus, you know what? I need to work on my mindset. My mindset's a little off here, I think. Great. So where are you going to learn? Who are you going to go learn from how to create a thin, healthy mindset other than me? Who else you going to learn from? Where are you? Who's out there? Who's the most famous weight loss mindset guru?
That's a big problem. Okay, so what I'm trying to tell you is that you have no idea how to create a thin, healthy mindset and program yourself. Then I take you through six categories in the mindset section. Your motivation. Do you know how to motivate yourself? You don't. If you're not currently losing weight, it's because you're not motivated. And you do not know how to motivate yourself. Because your motivation, if you're like all the other dieters, your motivation is you step on the scale, you see a picture of yourself, you catch your reflection, someone says something shitty to you, your big clothes don't fit anymore, you get really upset. That's how you start every diet. You get really upset at how big you are and you get really emotional. And that's it. I got to change this. And you dive right into some dumbass plan 100%, and you do it perfectly for a couple days or a couple weeks and then you quit.
And you have no idea to really motivate yourself. Okay, so motivation is the first step of creating a thin, healthy mindset. The next one is a self image. You've got an identity, folks. We all have a self image. We, we all live up or down to the self image that we hold of ourselves. If you've been overweight for a long time, you think of yourself as an overweight person. You've got to change that. You've got to get comfortable being a thin, healthy person. And if you're not right now, you're not comfortable with it. I'm telling you, that's part of it. You got to figure that out. Next one's habits. Do you have a strategic, neuroscientifically backed plan for how to manage your habits? Or are you just winging it? Are you just trying to stop, stop the bad habits? You know, it's just, it's not enough. Your emotions. Do you know how to deal with your emotions? Do you know how to feel the emotions you want to feel and deal with the shitty emotions you don't want to feel without food? I bet you don't. And if you don't know how to do that, how are you ever going to be able to control your eating? So that's another section we cover in the program. Next one's thinking literally the nuts and bolts. What questions to ask, what words to say. How do you think like a thin, healthy person? You have no idea. You know how to think like a dieter, you know how to think like an overweight person who wants to lose weight, but you do not know how to think like a thin healthy person. And then finally is maintenance. Do you know how to maintain your behavior so that you can maintain your results? Do you know how to maintain your mindset? Do you know how to deal with stress? Do you know how to deal with setbacks? Are you prepared for situations? Do you know how to maintain from day one to day two, never mind once you lose the weight, do you know how to stay on track? That's a whole section we go through with questions and examples. We go through all six of those things. Now you compare that to what you're doing. What are you doing to lose weight? I'm gonna start my plan tomorrow. What plan is starting? Blah, blah, blah, blah. Doesn't matter. Oh, okay. What are you gonna do to follow it? I'm just gonna do it. I'm just gonna do it, right? I'm just gonna do it. I really want to lose weight this time, so I'm just going to do my keto plan. I'm just not going to eat till 12. I'm just going to. Whatever. There's no strategy. There's no structure. There's no there there. And you wonder why you're not successful. Again, if you get anything else out of my message, it's this, that the reason you're overweight is not because you have a lack of willpower or character or self control. It's primarily because you had literally never learned how to be a thin, healthy person. You've never learned it. And my clients are smart, intelligent people. So it's like once they learn the right information, the results they get are just phenomenal, you know? But again, here's Casey. Casey, I don't know how many times you've lost weight and put it back on, but I bet this was not the first time even. And I bet what you did to lose weight is probably the same thing you've done in the past to lose weight and then put it back on again. Folks, if we keep doing the same things, we're gonna keep getting the same results. You gotta do things differently if you want different results. You know what's up, Karina? Karina says you're like a breath of fresh air. Well, thank you. Yes. That's what I'm here for. I am literally here to be a breath of fresh air for all you dieters. It doesn't have to be this hard. It really doesn't. And I know, like, people always say that. I'm not. I'm not sharing any hacks with you. Jesus. Every diet, every workout, every weight loss thing is a hack. You know, and it's like, I don't have no hacks for you, Okay, I got a couple hacks for you. But it's a complete system. You need a system. You need to approach your weight. If you're serious about your weight and your health and God damn it if you're not, I will tell you, being 50 years old, how the are you not obsessed with your, your health and your body? I, I don't understand. But anyways, that's, that's not my, that's up for up to you what you want to do with that. But if you are serious about your weight and your health and your happiness, you've got to make a commitment to it, a big commitment to it. You've got to really study this and learn it and come up with your system and. Oh, God, I don't have time for that. Do you not. You don't have time for it. How long have you been fighting with your weight? Good Lord. You know, it's like, you think about, you've been trying to lose weight for decades. You've never really just done the work. That's not your fault. You've never been able to do the works. No one's showing you the work. You know, program yourself then. As I always say, it's like a college course for mastering your weight, for living at your goal weight, you know, so, so there is work to be done, but once you do it, you got it. You know what I mean? Again, when, when you figure out what motivates you, it's those same basic things are going to motivate you forever, right? When you understand what self image you know you're going to have as a thin, healthy person, it's the same self image, tweak it a little bit, you know, and on and on. So it's like once you fill out your goal weight blueprints, it's a living, breathing document. You're always optimizing and improving on it. Okay? But it's like you have like this roadmap you can follow. You all don't have a roadmap. Casey starts, starts eating and the weight goes up. You know, she lose 10 pounds, 70 pounds. And now she's maintaining it for a while. Now something goes on, something's wrong. Now she starts eating more and now the scale goes up £10. Just, oh, oh. Because you dieters, that's what you do. You dieters go from the mantra of I just want to lose weight, I just want to lose weight, I just want to lose weight. I just Want to lose weight to once. If you actually lose the weight, then you start saying, I just. I don't want to gain the weight. I don't want to gain the weight. God, please don't gain the weight. Don't gain the weight. That's what you dieters, that's how you think. I just want to lose the weight. I just don't want to gain the weight. That's how you think. And here goes. Poor Casey loses 70 pounds, maintained it for a while, and all of a sudden something happened, knocked her off track. I don't know. I would love to know what happened. I know something happened. Probably something stressful. Maybe you moved. Maybe you've gotten in or out of a relationship. Maybe you started or quit a new job. Something probably happened and you didn't know how to deal with it. Emotionally, your eating started to come back the way it always used to come back, right? And the weight starts going up and you have no way to nip it in the bud. So program yourself. Then you go back to your blueprints. I don't feel as motivated as I did when I first started. Great motivation doesn't just last all the time. You know, Zig Ziglar always says, like people tell me, motivation doesn't last because neither does a shower. That's why we recommend do it. Take one daily. You know, you've got to understand motivation. That's just one piece of it. But. So I'm not as motivated as I used to be. You go back to the motivation section and. And you either forgot what you wrote or you need to tweak what you wrote to make it more impactful. But at least you got a plan. What are y' all doing now? Just winging in prayers. Winging in prayers? Hopes and prayers for weight loss. That's what it is. Let's be honest. You got no strategy. I know y' all have no strategy. I know it because I never see strategy out there. I see tactics. I see don't eat fat, don't eat carbs, don't eat sugar, don't eat for 16 hours, don't eat. It's always about one thing to do. You need a comprehensive holistic plan. In my opinion.
Gain £20, clothes don't fit, but for some reason, that's not enough anymore. Yeah, I get it, Casey. Because listen, folks, when you, all of you, base your motivation around pain.
Hear what I was saying before, right? Think about anytime you've ever started a diet, anytime you've ever even got close to losing weight or have Actually lost weight. What's going on is it's triggered by a pain based event. You stepped on the scale, like, holy. You went to the doctors, you're like, oh, I gotta face this. Someone said something rude to you, Saw a picture of yourself, Big one, right? You see the pictures? Oh my God, I think I was that big. You try and put the clothes on, they don't fit.
You catch your reflections. Holy. And you get upset. You get so upset. And so Casey here, she's gone through this now, and so now she's gotten to her goal weight. And I bet what happened is because. Here, let me bum you all out. Guess what? You're gonna get to your goal weight and there's still bullshit waiting you for you there. Life isn't a dream just because you're at your goal weight. It's a lot better, but you still gotta deal with all the bullshit of life. Relationships, financial stresses, health stresses, you know, jobs and just life. And so I think a lot of times people get to their goal weight because they're, they're chasing the fairy tale. You know, that once you get your goal, everything's gonna be perfect. And unfortunately, that's not true. But it's a lot easier to manage life at your goal weight, you know, if you do it the right way. So, yeah, Casey's finding out that even though the weight started going up, even the clothes got tighter, I couldn't get myself motivated. You've all experienced that, every single one of you. Because all of you have lost weight and then put it back on. And when the weight's coming back on, you know it's coming back on and you're freaking out because you can't get yourself motivated again to do the crazy to lose the weight that you've been able to get yourself to do.
There it is, there's the big problem. So program yourself then. You don't even got to.
It's just not like that because there's flexibility with it. Can you imagine? Did you hear what I said?
It's a goal weight plan with flexibility. Do you see what I'm saying? Like, that's what I mean. Like, I went on vacation last week and I'm still in my plan, but I'm also eating and drinking more alcohol.
I come back, I'm on my plan, but I'm not perfect with it. I'm not as on my plan today as I was two weeks ago, and I'm fine with that. But I have a plan to get back there. So I'm, I'm Very common, centered every step of the process. For me, you all are not. You are not. You're freaking out when you get on your diet. You're freaking out the whole time you're on the diet. Then if you even lose the weight, you're freaking out that you're going to not be able to stay on the diet and you can put the weight back on. You start putting the weight on and then you start freaking out that you can't get yourself to cut all the calories again. And then you finally just kind of give up and you put the weight back on and repeat the whole cycle over again. And it sucks. It sucks so much. It's literally why I'm here every day.
It says, how many people do you estimate have been successful at PYT and been 100 pounds overweight at the start? Oh, yikes. I mean, I could give you numbers, but they would be. I, I don't.
I wouldn't track enough. I mean, I've had a lot of people. I've, I've been doing this for over 20 years. I've done 6,000 probably weight loss sessions. So, I mean, I say a lot. A number, hundreds of people. I mean, probably because I, I coach and I have a program. So with the program itself, I don't get, I don't get all the numbers. I'm getting better and better at that where I'm starting to. People are kind of able to put their stats in, in the beginning, so it's, it kind of help us track better, that whole thing. But so I have my personal clients versus my program clients. And so the program clients. I don't have as clear a data with my private clients, my personal clients.
I mean, I've been doing this for so long, but I've just, I consistently, I don't know, I don't want to give you bullshit numbers. You know, I don't want to just make up numbers here. But I've consistently helped people.
To lose weight. 100 pounds is a little bit more than the average, I would say. I would say the average client of mine.
Usually I would say there's somewhere between 40 and 75 pounds. Okay, so hundreds, a little bit more on the outside of things. But I work with people that are morbidly obese. I've worked with everyone, but that's not my specialty. Again, morbid, obese. That's not.
I do work with them and they do use the program and it's helpful, but that's not the majority of my clients. The majority of my clients are usually somewhere between. Well, you know, again, it's. I, I will say on average about 30 of my clients are within 15 pounds of their goal weight. And a lot of people are surprised by that. But, you know, you wouldn't believe it. But people, a lot of times people that are 15 pounds away from their goal weight are some of the most obsessed with their weight and the most stuck. It's very interesting and I have a lot of theories on that, but I would say the majority of my clients are on average 40 to 75 pounds. You know, but 100 pounds is that much more. So again, at the end of the day, it's always the same story because it's not about how much weight you have to lose. It's about being and living as the person you want to live and be as you see what I mean? So it's about creating the mindset, the lifestyle and the eating patterns of the person you want to be. So I always say this too. That program yourself then is not just weight loss, it's weight loss wrapped in personal development. It's an inside out approach to change. So it's really important to understand that because it's not just about the weight and the numbers. It's really about being the best version you possible and having the highest quality of life you possibly can. Which is really important because a lot of people just get fixated on the number. But if you just look at the number, what a lot of people do is they choose a number that's too low. Now, I know you don't want to hear this, but I'm telling you the truth. I take the no oath. I'm here for free, so I can just say what I need to say. But yeah, most people, because you don't, you know, you can pick whatever weight you want, fine. But you got to live and eat a certain way to achieve that weight. Okay? And so if you choose a weight that is.
This low and you need to eat carrots and drink water all day to live at that weight, your quality of life goes down. Do you understand that? The weight doesn't override everything else, folks. If it did, no one have a weight issue. You always are gonna, your subconscious mind is always going to choose the best quality of life for you. And what a lot of you dieters are doing is choosing qualities of life that are worse for you. You know? Yeah, I'm losing weight, great. But I'm miserable. I'm miserable. I can't go out my friends ever. I can't have cake when I'M at a birthday party for my cousin. I can't. I can't live a normal life. I feel, I hate this. Even though I'm losing weight. I feel like you all died or she'll know what that feels like. So again, you know, choosing the right weight also requires that we compare what we have to do to achieve that weight and balance out where we get the best return on investment. So I hope that makes sense. Melissa Perry says, what is the correct strategy? I would say the correct strategy is to create a plan that has a mindset, lifestyle and eating component to it. Okay. That is built around you. So I think that's the correct strategy. And it takes some trial and error. You know what I mean? It takes some thought and some effort and it takes practice. You know, you're developing awareness, you're starting to understand yourself better, understand your kind of challenges, understand what's contributing to them, how can we change them in a way that really works for you? And I think if you take that approach and you're very solution oriented, it's impossible not to make headway in the direction you want to go in. So I think that's the correct general strategy. But if you want deeper than that, click the link in my bio and go get the hypnosis session that I made for you all and watch the training. And I got a bunch of cool again, I, I'm not joking here. Over the next, I would say two weeks, one of the things that I am excited about this, I can't, I can't wait for this actually. And I was hoping I'd have it done, but hey, you know what I mean, Planning fallacy. We always think things are going to happen quicker than they actually happen. It's called the planning fallacy. Important to that because it could feel discouraging, but I'm okay. I'm okay. But one of the things I'm so excited about is over the last, like really I've spent like the last four or five months, I retweaked all the blueprints in the program. Again, the blueprints are knowing what you need to know what to do and you need to know how to get yourself to do it. And you need support. That's the three things I think you need to succeed. So the blueprints are knowing what to do for you. And I went through and redid all of them. So again, that takes you through the mindset lifestyle needing blueprints for all that. And so.
I don't know what was saying that, but, but Once you have that, you know, it's.
It's really exciting, but. Oh, I know what I was gonna say because I spent all the time creating it and then I got it formatted. I'm this close to get the final formatting done and then I'm sending them off to get them printed and I'll. It's gonna be so cool. Wait till you see them. They look awesome. It looks so awesome. I'm at the very final thing yet, so I'm so excited this week I'll have it ready to go and off to the printers. And so again, if you're in the program, you'll be able to get those again, there is a little extra fee just because if you want that. Now, by the way, if you're in the program, you get the digital version for free. So I just want you to know that. But the physical version, you know, costs money to make. So if you want that, you'll be able to do that. It'll be like 30 or 40 bucks probably. But anyways, I'll be able to show it to you. I cannot wait. I can't wait to have this printed. I can show you different parts of it. It's going to be cool. So anyways, that's the blueprint that, that you felt in the program and then you learn the program yourself then technique, which is how to program your mind to get yourself to follow the blueprint, you know, and then there's a support piece of it and that's key too. Rhea Woodruff says, I'm considering this. However, I manage a company and have a private practice after hours. So having time for this might be a challenge. Can you give a basic outline of this, how this works? Or would it be best to ask this question via private message? Yeah, Ria, feel free to answer. Ask me private questions. So yeah, you can message me, email me at Jim program yourself then dot com. But let me take a whack at it. The way the program works in practicality, in reality, what happens is again, there's three components to it. There's the blueprints, there is the program yourself then technique, and there is the hypnosis system and support. So what it looks like time wise is this. I'm going to start with how each day looks. So each day for eight weeks, you start each morning with a five minute hypnosis session. Now everything in this program is coming together really cool now. So, so what happens is you get every morning you're going to wake up, there's going to be an email and you're going to have a little note, a little message you get through the app that we deliver the program through. This is, hey, good morning, how's it going? Here's your session for the day. It's a five minute session. This is really important because each morning what you're doing is you're starting your morning with five minutes of relaxation and calm where you're getting lots of good stuff put in your head. Each session's built around a weight loss mantra. So you hear that mantra repeatedly. Again, I'm very intentionally looking to install these ideas into your mind. And so for eight weeks, every morning you start with a five minute session, you listen to in the morning. At night you listen to a 10 minute session. Now this one's a little different because you get one of these for eight weeks, you get one each week and you listen to this one repeatedly. So ideally you're going to listen to this one each night. At night it's 10 minutes. And this has a core weight loss mantra in it. What this does is bookend your day. Five minutes in the morning, 10 minutes at night. So there's 15 minutes a day. Ideally you don't have to listen nighttime one every night. Okay, so that's, that's every day. Ideally you want to put 15 minutes into that. Then there's the blueprints. The blueprints in total will take you probably two, three, four hours to, to finish. But it's important to understand that what most people will do is they will go through the mindset and the eating blueprints first and then they will kind of pick away at the lifestyle ones. Okay, so again, within an hour, two hours, you could really have the mindset and the eating blueprints finished and your initial piece is done. You can start to work on that and following it. Okay, so again, but you can pick away at that as quickly or slowly as you want, you know, because it ain't rocket science, you know, again, you want to do the mindset one, but if you, you know, if takes you an hour or two to do that, you know, there you go and you got it finished. And then once you have kind of your blueprints, you're ready to go, then you learn the program yourself then technique. That Training is about 40 minutes, you know, and so you learn how to do it. That technique is a 60 second technique you use at night. It's just a self hypnosis. It's super easy and you just use it to reprogram your mind and that you do at night. Takes you about 60 seconds. So again, all in told, I mean, you're Talking about about 15, 16 minutes a day and then maybe, you know, half hour, hour a week for a couple weeks. And that's the. That's the. To get the core of the program done. Now listen, you know, when you have some extra time, there's a ton of material in the program, bonus stuff that you can watch, videos, there's trainings up the wazoo. We have a live weekly Q and A every Tuesday. You know, you can get on there, you can ask questions ahead of time. I got a new thing that may be coming out for clients. I might do another Q and A coming up. We'll see on that one there. Again, a lot of what I'm doing is really shifting over to really, really delivering on this program, which is going to mean I'm going to show up more for the program. And so again, that. So that's kind of what a typical day might look like. That's kind of a typical timeframe. But if that doesn't answer it for you, you know, Ria, just shoot me any other questions you may have. What's up, Denise? Denise says, welcome back. Jim just joined your program. All right. I've been listening to your wisdom daily while I walk and get my 3km in kilometers in. Your style approach is unique and so very authentic. Thank you. I simply had to join your world. Thank you. Well, great, Denise, I'm proud of you. Super job taking action. Yeah, we had a lot of people join the program over the last couple weeks here. So super excited for you. Again.
This Circle app is where a lot of the action is going to happen. The new blueprint, that's format. It's the same content. It's just updated with the format. It looks awesome. That will be available by the end of the week. And if you choose, if you want to get a physical version, I'll share some details on that. But the Circle apps, where a lot of things are going to be kicking off here over the next couple weeks as well. So make sure that you are in the Circle app a and that you ideally want to download it onto your phone. It's a way better experience. So great job. Denise. I'm super, super glad you're in here and I can't wait to see in the app. What's up, Mari? How's it going? I need to get a print out of the blueprint. I'm so happy to be on board with. You need to get the most out of your program. Hope you had A great holiday. I can't find the nighttime mantras. Okay, Mari, the nighttime mantras, if you go into the hypnosis system and you. They'll be called weekly. The weekly ones. So then the nighttime ones are the weekly ones. All right, so week one is, you know, nothing tastes as good as thin and healthy feels. That's the week one, nightly one. So listen to that one for the week one multiple times. And then week two, obviously is the next week. Those are the nighttime ones. All right.
Yeah. And the print out of the blueprint. I'd wait, Mari, wait to print the blueprint out for like another two, three days. I'm gonna have the, the digital version. It just looks cooler. It's just, it's redesigned. I think it looks awesome. It's easier to kind of go through. So wait a couple days to print that out. If you want the actual printed out version, I'm going to get made, you know, high quality cover and all that stuff there. That'll be available probably next week. And like I said, it'll be somewhere 30 to $40 if that matters to you. And if not, just print it out when the design comes out. But super awesome. Great job taking action. Super happy to hear you in the program. User694, is your method based on quantum theory?
No, it's not, because I don't understand quantum theory. So I, I don't know, I'm. Maybe it's got some. I know a little bit about quantum theory, a very, very, very little. And so maybe there's some similarities, but I wouldn't know what they were. One thing I say a lot, and I say it I kind of out of ignorance because I'm not really a quantum theorist, but I always think like transformation has a quantum element to it. So that. Meaning that a big part of programming yourself then is we're making this quantum leap where you think of yourself as an overweight person to thinking yourself as a thin, healthy person before it actually happens. And so I think that is an aspect of the program that is quantum esque. And I believe it's very important because I think that transformation from what we were to what we want to be, it's very quantum in the sense that like we can't be both at the same time, which again is a big issue for people because a lot of people, even when they lose the weight, they still identify as an overweight person. They still think of themselves as an overweight person. So we really want to make that transformation complete by internalizing the identification of being a Thin, healthy person. And I suppose that's a little quantum esque.
Cool. Who says how to create the mindset? Yeah, how do you create the mindset? I mean, the mindset really is a combination of a lot of things. I think, you know, part of it's the mantras that you say to yourself. I think that's a big part of it. We learn through mantras. We say certain phrases to ourselves over and over and over again. We don't realize that it's happening on autopilot in the background, but we do that a lot. And so that's part of the program is you're constantly getting good, healthy, happy, successful messages put into your brain and mind nervous system. I think that's valuable. I think having the blueprints and having like strategically understanding your mindset, your lifestyle, and you're eating in a way that really is built for you. I think that's another key part of having the right mindset is literally knowing what to do for you. I think that's another key piece. And then I think being able to program all that into your subconscious mindset on autopilot, that's kind of the final piece of it. All right.
Ralph says, what's the story with the word narrative?
What's the story with the word narrative? I don't know what that means. The headspace after gaining weight, after always saying, I will never look that way again. Now I do. When I was really into reading last year, I used to watch your stream every day. First time putting it back on. Oh, okay. Casey. Yeah. Well, yeah, I don't know. Again, that would be very interesting if I was working with you. It would be interesting to find out, did something happen right around that time? Usually something happens that triggers the weight gain coming on. Oh, there we go. Casey says, I actually did start a new job and I've eaten a lot since. Now that you say that, I work long hours, so I can't fast anymore. I'd be half dead. Yeah. So again, folks, you just watch that in real time. Again, the patterns are the same. You know what I mean? I. I've been doing this for so long. You really just see the same patterns over and over again. So I don't know why Casey gained weight, but I just guess something changed in her life. You know, that's typically what happens. And again, what happens with dieters, this is very common, is that as soon as something changes in their life, their plan doesn't have the flexibility to be able to adapt to the new reality. And so, you know, again, Just like you said, you can't now. You can't intermittent fast. You can't starve yourself for. I bet you were doing 18, 20 hours a day. You know that weight loss is quick. You probably did some extreme restricting and you couldn't do it with the new job. And you have no middle ground. All or nothing. You can't do all, so you do nothing. You know, and again, it's just what happens, Casey. Right. So now you need to come up with a plan that works with your new job and your new situation. But you can think of it this way, you know, because again, you have to understand, folks, diets are extremely rigid and strict. All diets are very rigid and strict. They don't teach you how to adapt. Really. Okay, so poor Casey over here, you know, when she's in one situation, one reality, one lifestyle, one job, she has a structure to her life where intermittent fasting works great. Well, now all of a sudden you got a new job with different hours. Everything's different. That same strategy may not work. It didn't work. But again, you didn't realize that you weren't aware of this. And program yourself. Then we train ourselves to be very aware of stuff like this because you can't fix something that you don't know isn't broken. So it's like if you don't realize the new job and the new shift in schedule is going to affect your intermittent fasting, you almost go into denial mode with it. We're in program yourself. Then we're looking to adapt to the new reality, make it work for us, you know, and think about the difference there, if you like. Again, Casey, right? Like, think about that. I don't. I don't even know your situation. I just randomly picked. I know something happened. I know something happened that triggered it. I picked it, I said, because I picked the big things. I picked a job. So me, Casey, without even knowing, you identified what the re trigger was to gain the weight. And you've been here, £70, you put back on, and you. Not once have you realized it was the job and the schedule and your inability to fast like you were beforehand. You didn't even know that. And so if you couldn't. If you weren't aware of that, how could you ever fix it? Because what you're doing, Casey, is just freaking out. And you're just. You don't know why. You don't know why all of a sudden you're eating more. But who have you been blaming? The whole time, Case? You've been blaming Yourself. How come I'm not doing like I used to? How come I'd eat in the same way? What are you doing? What's wrong with you? You know what I mean? And so you're beating yourself up instead of recognizing how the situation's changed and how can I manage it now, you know, in a new way. So that's very important, being able to recognize that. Yeah, 48. Oh, yeah, 48. 72 hours. Yep.
Oh, only put back on 20 pounds. I got, I got you. Yeah, got you, Casey. Well, good. Again, I mean, just recognize it. And now again, I'm not sure If I understand. 20 hours was fine. 48, 72 hours. I just get the feeling, Casey, that you did. So I'm not sure. What are you saying? Like, you fast, you would fast from 48 to 72 hours, you know.
Because I mean, if you're fasting 40 to 72 hours, that's a, that's really a lot to do consistently. It's very, that's a very. I'm not saying, you know, there's always outliers, there's always someone that's going to thrive doing that and love it, but most people, it's going to be a real challenging thing.
It's going to be very difficult to, to maintain that kind of rigid, intense restriction, you know? Yeah, I did it for six months straight. Again. I, it's just, it's a short term strategy, Casey. I, you know, I just. Do you want to keep fasting for like. Oh yeah, I do, I do. I want to keep doing it. Well, can you, with a new job? So you need to, you know what I mean? You need to become more flexible. Listen, at the end of the day, all intermittent fasting is, is just, it's reducing your calories. It's just a strategy, reduce your calories, you know, and so you can reduce your calories in a million different ways, but you need to reduce your calories in a way that works better for your new schedule. He says you're a wise man, Jim. I am. When it comes to weight loss, I, Again, I can't say I'm wise with everything in life, but when it comes to weight, I mean, you know, geez, experience does, you know, eventually you kind of figure things out.
Heather says if I do the self hypnosis sessions, will I ever not be aware, alert of my own thinking and surroundings? Oh, great. That's a great question, Heather. And I was thinking I should have addressed that too. When you're asking about the self hypnosis, let me Just share with you what hypnosis feels like is.
It feels like when you're watching like a TV show or a movie, and it's like, you know how like you're. You're in the. The movie or the TV show and you're like, you're really enjoying it, but you're. You're absorbed in it, right? Especially like a movie, right? You're totally absorbed in the movie. You're not thinking about the surroundings of people you're with or whatever else. You're just absorbed. And so as you absorb into the movie, you're less aware of what's going on, but you're still aware of. All of a sudden a fire broke out in the theater, you get up and you leave. You know what I mean? But, you know, if you're watching a show on TV and all of a sudden someone knocks on the door, I mean, you just. Your attention's here and you're absorbed in it. And all of a sudden when someone just. You bring. Bring out of it, but you're aware, you just were putting your awareness over there. So hypnosis feels. You all experience hypnosis. Hypnosis is not something that you're newly going to experience. We all have hypnotic brains. We go in and out of hypnosis constantly, every day, all the time anyways. And every time you're watching a show you like or a movie, you're going into a state of hypnosis. So, no, you're aware of what's going on. You're just allowing your attention to be on the thing that's, you know, being talked about. And if all of a sudden something pops up, you know, you're in a. You're listening to a hypnosis session. All of a sudden, you know, you feel a cold breeze, right? You say, oh, my person I live with, just open the door. You'd be aware of that, you know. So Mari says, with the daily hypnosis, how do I know it's working, that I'm doing it properly? Do I just trust the process, Jim? I'm such an overthinker. Fair enough. Fair enough. Everyone thinks that. Yes. Think of, listen, just think of the hypnosis sessions, kind of like a guided meditation. There's no pressure. You don't have to go into a hypnotic state. It's just hearing good stuff. It's relaxing, calming down, turning your attention inward, becoming more sensitive to what's going on inside of you, inside your mind, inside your body, relaxing, breathing, and then just having good ideas put into your head. Just like TV commercials. You don't have to be like entranced and I don't have to dazzle you and entrance you into some synomolistic state in order to install suggestions. That's not how this works. So it's just about relaxing and Mari, you'll find yourself relaxing deeper and deeper each time you listen to the sessions. But that's the goal. Just relax your shoulders, your chest, your stomach, your face. Connect to your breath.
Breathe more fully, breathe more deeply. Let your mind quiet down. Bring your attention inwards and just hear the words that I'm saying. Follow along with them. That's all you need to do. You do not need to be, you know, again in some deep, deep, deep trance. That, that's not necessary. The hypnosis session works anyways.
He says I look at it as. Hypnosis is meditation with a goal. Yeah, I think that's great, Denise. I think that's a perfect way to look at it. I think the same thing. I've really, I've talked a lot about this with people. I, you know, I'm a meditator and I, I find like you know.
Guided, guided meditations to me are guided hypnosis sessions. Meditation is done by yourself, quietly. I mean I've studied a lot of schools of meditation. I've never seen a school, a thousand year old school of meditation where someone just sits there and talks to you in your ear. Right? It's meditation historically has been you by yourself, quiet in your mind. Maybe you're using a mantra, maybe you're just doing introspect, whatever, but it's you by yourself. So this idea of like guided meditation, I just don't like that phrase. I, because I think meditation, hypnosis, brainwave wise, it's the same patterns, they're the same brainwave patterns. So they're the same state of mind, but they're used differently. So you go into that state of mind and meditation, you're going into this quiet or this real fixed attention span. And with hypnosis you're using, you're programming your mind with good suggestions whether they're self generated by you or generated by me, giving you good ideas, you know, so that's how I think of those words. But. But yeah, either way you do not need to go into some weird ass hypnotic trance. That's not necessary for change at all in any way.
This says okay, thank you. I have no experience with it other than seeing it as entertainment where people do stupid stuff. Yeah, I have such a love hate relationship with a stage hypnosis and I am certified as a stage hypnotist as well. My love and hate with it is that it does spread the. The message of hypnosis and how powerful and amazing it is, but then it puts this goofy frame around it, you know? And so it's important to understand that stage hypnosis is really the keyword. There is stage. It's a lot of social.
It's a lot of social components to it. More than hypnosis components. Those people wouldn't do those same things in my office by themselves. There's a lot of social pressure and technique use being used there. So I know it's such a blessing and a curse, the stage hypnosis stuff, but. Yeah, but. But again, Heather, what I would suggest is go to. I'll put it right in the. The thing here. That's another thing. I'm gonna let that go, but I'm gonna put this. This message in here for you, and you can go get the.
Oops.
You can get the hypnosis session. It's free.
Go check it out. Because then you just get this experience. It's just relaxing. Again, folks, you all have experienced hypnosis every. Literally every time you watch a movie or a show that if you hate it, you might not be as hypnotic, but if you think about a movie, you've really been absorbed in that. That's hypnosis, right? You're imagining what you're watching on the screen, and you're living in the imagination, and it's creating real feelings in you. That's the amazing part. You know, Just think about that. You watch a comedy, you're laughing.
You watch. You watch a drama, you're crying. You know what I mean? You watch sports. Your. Your adrenaline's literally being released in your body. You sit in the exact same sofa room by yourself, watching tv, having completely different experiences. You know that. That is literally hypnosis. So it's not some weird thing, again, that the stage stuff makes it seem weird, but.
Okay. Says haven't been on the stream in months. Been trying to avoid it. Don't avoid it, Casey. No, no, no, no. I know, I know. Especially now you put £20 on no big deal. Okay? I know. Relax, relax. It's not a big deal. It's completely normal. It's so normal. That's another piece of the program, really, is that, you know, if all of a sudden you have a new job that's dramatically different than your old one, we kind of save some space. Well, you might put a little bit of weight on Your eating might get a little wonky while you readjust your new reality. That's completely normal. So just relax, Casey, get back on these streams, okay? Because there's no judgment here. It's completely normal. Putting 20 pounds on is not a big deal. I know it feels like the end of the world. It's not. You're still £50 ahead of where you were, okay? But what you've got to do now is you've got to learn how to eat with your new reality. That's what you've got to focus on. And again, even showing up here, acknowledging the situation is the first step to doing it. Just relax. Relax. You're here. You did it, okay? You faced your fear. You faced it, and now you can move on towards a solution. This is so common. Again, we start to backslide a little bit. We start panicking. You know, we start freaking out. And so it's so important that we just calm down and relax and engage our solution oriented mindset, okay? Because there are so many solutions in front of you. Casey, you're starting from such a great point. You know, you would absolutely love to be in this situation from a year ago where you're 50 pounds lighter, okay? Live in the 50 pound weight loss, not the 20 pound gain, all right? And just relax. Realize that life's different now because of your job and adjust what you're doing so that it works with your job. And if you start approaching it that way, you're gonna be all right. Becky says experience is the greatest teacher. You embody that. Thank you. Yes, experience is absolutely the greatest teacher. Back to Casey right now. You know, you know, a bunch of things, Casey, that you didn't know last year. You know, that you can do this. You know, you can do extreme things. I would. The extreme things I would do. Right? So again, program yourself then, is always teaching you to do, you know, put this effort and work in so that you create a plan that really works for you and is flexible. Okay? So figure out, Casey, how your new job makes certain things impossible, and then start to adjust to that reality. And again, if you keep thinking that way, I think you'll be all right.
Yeah. And you're dealing with reality now, so. Nice job. What's up, Lisa? Slow and steady, right? Yeah, Slow and steady. Absolutely. Because, you know, it's like we always talk about the. The turtle and the hare, right? And it's like. But listen, folks, this. This isn't a race, though. That's where it's wrong. You know, it's like if you Think about, like, brushing your teeth, how long you brush your teeth till. You know what I mean? Like, there's no time frame on that. It's just you're going to do it forever. And so wanting to be able to live at your goal weight and be the person you want to be, how long you want to do that for? Forever, right? So, come on, you know, there is no time frame. So slow and steady is literally the only way. It's the easy way, too. I know you're all impatient. I get that. But again, the secret around the impatience is to realize that it's. It doesn't matter how fast you get there. It's all about how long you. You live there. Again, you don't want to lose weight. You want to live at your goal weight. And if you can make that shift, it changes everything. You know, Casey says, ever since weight gain, I've been very like, oh, I don't care anymore. No, Casey, you care. You didn't care because you didn't know what the problem was. So you were so frustrated, you just opt out. That's what all you dieters do. You dieting, you have no ability to really analyze the issues, and issues come up constantly. Dieting teaches you that you're going to get to your goal weight and you're just going to live there forever. Dieting is always selling you a fairy tale. You're going to get to your goal weight, everyone's gonna love you. You're gonna look amazing. It's. You're gonna live it that way forever. No, you're not. Not necessarily. Because what's going to happen is you're going to do really, if you're a regular dieter, you're going to do extreme, intense shit because you just want to get to your goal weight so bad. And what happens is you trade the pleasure, excitement of the food for the pleasure and excitement of the scale going down. Then let's say you do get to your goal weight, and now all of a sudden, you're living your goal weight. Now you get fucking bills. And you can start a new job where you're working all the time. You working with jerks you don't even like. You get in a relationship, you break up with someone, you know, your boss yells at you, you get a bill that you weren't expecting. You get a health scare. You weren't. But you got to move comes your way, and all of a sudden say, oh, my God, I'm at my goal weight, but life's still hard. Yeah. And so you got to Be able to adapt and manage. And so what happens with you dieters is life comes at you. You know, you say, okay, I'm gonna do this, and you do it. You're just so strict. I'm not gonna eat for three days, four days. I'm not gonna eat three days. Four days a week. Yeah, okay, you can do that. When everything else is the same. All of a sudden you start a new job and everything is wild. You don't get the, you don't get the ability to fast for four days. You know what I mean? Like, it's just, it's way different. It's a lot harder. And so. But what happens is, because you only have one way you can lose the weight, which is fasting for four days. You have no flexibility. And so in that situation, so I can't do it anymore. I can't do the four days anymore. So I can't keep the weight off anymore. Then you start eating more, because you can't do that now. You start feeling discouraged and frustrated with yourself. Now I just want to not think about it, but you got to think about it. You got to look right at it and say, oh, I started this new job. I can't do this four days. How can I? What can I do now in my new situation? You see, so you absolutely care, Casey. You just got to be some. You got to flexible because you need to come up with a new strategy. The strategy of not eating for three to four days, which is, I, I don't love that strategy. I think it's too intense. And I think this is a perfect example that, you know, that's what you dieters always do. You do your really intense. And as long as everything in life, everything else is like perfect, you can kind of stick with it because all you do is think about weight. But the second something in life goes a little skewy, it's like, well, I can't do this anymore. To me, Casey, that strategy is so intense, I think it's. I think it's too hard, personally. I'm just saying that maybe you're one of the ones that. Well, no, because it didn't last. Okay? So I think you need to adopt your strategy to, you know, adapt your strategy to the situation you're in now and you care about your weight. You're gonna tell me you don't want to keep your £20 off? You know, you drop the £20 and live at that weight at your new job and just kick ass, kill it. Of course you do, you know, so.
I see myself as a huge person. So I don't care. Obviously do, though. Yep. Yep. Vicki says self awareness is the first step towards change and periodic re. Engaging with yourself. Yes, absolutely. Vicki's a superstar. She's in the program. And again, she came to the program being a.
A Weight Watchers lifetime member. So, I mean, she already successfully was. Was controlling her weight, but she came here to learn how to really maintain it in a much more effective way. So when she says self awareness is the first step towards change and periodically re. Engaging with yourself, you also listen to that. I mean, she's a pro, a real pro at this. You know.
Keep binging on food, saying, I'll start tomorrow, so I eat everything to get rid of it. That's where £20 came from. Yeah. Again, Casey, we all get it, right? Everyone's gone through that, the start tomorrow stuff, all the rest of it, the denial, you know, we all. We all get it, you know, but again, remember, you don't have to change everything all at once, Casey. Re engage. Being here is a big step forward. So I'm proud of you for even being on this. I always, what I always tell myself and people in my program, it's like I really measure success. Success not by how much weight you lose, but by how many times you get off track and then get back on track again. That's honestly what I look at. That, to me, is more important than anything. It's it. Because you're always going to get off track. Sometimes, folks, again with dieting, you're. You're under the delusion that you're, you know, your success is really about how perfect you can be and how long you maintain perfection.
But the reality is that you can't maintain perfection. Oof. That coffee is so strong. You can't maintain perfection forever. And so you need to have the ability to get back on track. Casey's a perfect example of that. Okay, yes, it's completely normal, Casey, that something's going to go on in life that's gonna knock you off track and put some weight on. But what do you do now that that's the most important piece. Fix it now, though, because you know, again, 750 more pounds. You don't want that. Okay, so just re. Engage now. I'm proud of you that you're here. And make sure. I know you must have the hypnosis session, the training, so make sure you get that as well, because it says a lot of time. Dieting never addresses living at goal weight. Yes, absolutely.
Yeah.
Lainey says, can you hypnotize me not to sabotage my weight loss. No, I can't do that again. Hypnosis, I think a lot of times is really overstated. I can't, I can't hypnotize you to do stuff like I can influence you for sure. But listen, I've done this. I, when I had my office, I would hypnotize people and they would change. But those were the super suggestible people and we don't live in a vacuum. So yes, they would change for a little while and then they would fall prey to some other hypnosis that get them right back doing the dumb shit they did. So ultimately you've got to engage in this process. There is no magic bullet and hypnosis. That's why I don't sell my hypnosis program. I have the number one hypnosis program on the planet for weight loss. There's not a program like it. I sold it last year by itself. People used it, they got good results. I was getting feedback from it, but I didn't want to sell it because I didn't think it set people up for long term success. I think ultimately you've got to engage, you've got to create a plan that works for you. You've got to learn how to run your own mind. And then the hypnosis supports all that. So that, that's why I don't sell the hypnosis session by the program by itself anymore. And it's literally the number one hypnosis. Because I'll give an example. Because if you're here and you're thinking about, I'm going to use hypnosis for weight loss. Let me just give you an example what my program is and you'll see what all the other programs are. My program, this, the hypnosis one, the goal weight hypnosis system, eight weeks long. Okay? Every morning you get a five minute hypnosis session. Each one's unique, each one has a different weight loss mantra you're putting into your mind. So for eight weeks, you're starting every morning, relaxed, calm, hearing great stuff put into your subconscious. Five minutes, then go live your day. You're going to find yourself naturally making healthier choices, feeling better, more grounded, calm. At night, you listen to a 10 minute session. Each week you get one of those and you listen to that one repeatedly. Each one of those has a core weight loss mantra in it. All right? And you listen to that for eight weeks, right? You'll get one each week. And so that's just the hypnosis and beyond that, there's a hypnosis Library with over 25 sessions in it right now. So you look at that hypnosis program compared to any other program you're going to see online. Online, you're going to get, you know, the three sessions. Emotional eating, metabolism booster. I got those too. I. I offer those as well. I just give them to you for free. They ain't enough. And so you need a system. You need reinforcement, and you need consistency. And so again, there is no. I wish if I could just hypnotize people and make them thin forever, it'd be boring. But I, I would do it, but it just doesn't work that way. You've got to engage in the process. You have to understand what's happening. But once you do, you got the keys to the kingdom. You know, it really is the idea, like, again, is it better to give a person a fish or teach a person how to fish? You know what I mean? And so once you know how to fish, you've got the power and the control to influence it. And I think it's very important that you do that.
Yep. Yeah. Vicky says, longer you're in denial doing dieting, the worse your weight gets. Yes. So true. So true. Nyla says, is it better to lose weight slowly or faster? You know, it just depends. You know, there's. I don't think there's one answer to that is 100. Right. But I think in general, I think slower is better simply because faster is usually worse. Right. Because the fastest weight you can lose requires the most extreme process. Right. And so I think that.
It'S the more extreme thing you do, the less sustainable it is. So for me, I am way more focused on slower because typically the slower it is, the more sustainable the methods are going to be. So it's not 100%, but typically I prefer when people lose weight slower because I think it sets them up to lose it longer. That's my opinion. Mari says, how do you maintain your own goal weight? Gym. Just keep monitoring. Nothing better than watching the weight come off. So fun. You are your own project. Yeah, I agree. It is fun losing weight. Like, it's wicked fun. And I think it's addictive to some degree, you know, but ultimately, folks, we're all looking to get to a plateau forever, you know. Now, again, how I made my maintain my goal weight, I maintain a range, right? So for me personally, I use a five pound range. Some people prefer a three pound range, whatever. Some people more. So it depends on you and your body. But for me, it's a five pound range. So if I'm within the five pound range, I consider myself at my goal weight. Okay, now how do I maintain it? I maintain it because I have consistent behaviors. My eating, my eating blueprint, the way I eat week to week is very similar. So again, we have clean and pleasure days and program yourself then. My clean days are very similar. I have the same breakfast, same lunch. I don't have the same dinner, but I have the same dinners week after week, typically, you know what I mean? So, like Monday night, tonight, there's like three or four things we may eat on a Monday night, you know what I mean? And they're all pretty consistent nutritionally, calorically. There's a lot of similarities to them. Then my pleasure days, I eat very similarly, you know what I mean? So I've got a structure to both my clean days and my pleasure days, and I stick to that pretty good. And so that's my main, that's my main focus for how I control my weight. Now. I've been actively losing weight a little bit, but now I'm in maintenance. I'm right to where I'm maintaining. So I won't weigh myself as much and I'll just kind of monitor how I'm eating and what I'm doing. And if it's all kind of consistent with how I normally do it, then I, you know, I won't weigh myself as much. I will randomly do it and just make sure everything's staying the same. That's kind of how I do it, if that makes sense.
Mari says, are women more open? Are women more open to your PYT program? Fewer men. Yeah. Oh, yeah, absolutely. Women. Women are the vast majority of my clients. I absolutely work with men too, and there's men in the program, but it's, it's overwhelmingly women. And I think that's for a number of reasons, I think. And it's a very specific type of woman. You know, I, I get. The majority of my clients are overthinkers, action takers, perfectionists.
Very hard on themselves. They've died at a bunch of times, lost weight, put it back on. They're usually 45 to 70.
Feel frustrated, they can't get anything, you know, even started anymore. So again, my ideal client is really very similar, I would say. And it's usually women. Yes.
Leni says, I feel mentally stuck as a fat person. Even when I lose weight, I bounce back to fat. Yeah, I get it. Leni, again, in program yourself, then one of the mindset Pieces we really dive into is the self image piece. Right. How you identify yourself. I think this is such an important, subconscious piece of the puzzle, because I think if you think of yourself as an overweight, overeating person, it's gonna be very difficult to eat in a way where you lose weight, because you're always gonna live up or down to your self image. So I think that, you know, I get that. I get what you're saying, Leanie. And when you think yourself is an overweight person, it's really difficult to think you're ever gonna get the results you want. So I totally get that. But what I would suggest is go click my link in the bio, go get the hypnosis session, watch the video I make, because I talk a lot more about that.
Yeah. Casey doubles down on that one mentally fat thing has genuinely made me gain a lot of weight back. I get it. Again, if you think yourself as an overweight person, it's just. It's a fundamental, cognitive, dissonant idea that you're going to eat well. You know what I mean? So ironically, it's just easier to redefine yourself. I know that sounds strange, but I think that's got to be part of the process. I can't. You know, I've said this all the time, so I always think, like right now, your mindset, your. Your. Your core mindset right now is that your self image is that of an overweight person. If you've been overweight for a while or if you grew up overweight, you think of yourself as an overweight person. And how you think, how you live, how you eat on autopilot, right? You're not thinking about your weight, just living your life. You think, eat and live like an overweight person, just naturally. Okay? Now, sometimes you're gonna go on a diet, but dieting is not a mindset in of itself, right? So you've got an overweight mindset right now. That's your core problem when you're just living your life, you're overweight. Now when you diet, it's not a mindset. It's an anti mindset. And what it does is it's not a mindset in itself. It basically just keeps saying no to the overweight mindset. So the overweight mindset, let's have a donut. No. Let's have some pizza. No. Let's have another ice cream. No, no, no, no, no, no. And you know yourself down to a lower weight. But the same problem exists that you got an overweight mindset and you can't keep dieting. And so what most people do is they go back to their overweight mindset and the weight goes right back up. And then they start dieting again and repeat the whole cycle over and over. And nowhere in that process are you learning how to think like a thin, healthy person. So program yourself then, is about creating the mindset of a thin, healthy person simultaneously while you're losing the weight, so that when you get to your goal weight, you think of yourself as a thin, healthy person who's going to live this way forever. That's not how you all think as dieters. As dieters. Again, like I said, it flips from I just want to lose weight to I got. I hope I don't put the weight back on, you know?
How do you make sure your clients don't start thinking toxic thoughts and ideas? Well, there you go, Casey, right? I, I don't make sure that they don't think toxic thoughts and ideas. They all think toxic thoughts and ideas. I think toxic thoughts and ideas all the time, but I'm aware of that and I know how to deal with it. So let me give you an example. What I mean, I always joke around, you're never going to get rid of that shitty, mean voice in your head. It's never going away. That's a basic idea of neuroscience that you can't, you can't get rid of old wiring. So you know how to talk to yourself like a mean, shitty, toxic person. Okay? That's never going to stop.
It's like, it's like, how long would you need to live in China before you didn't understand English? There is no time. You, you are, for the rest of your life, you're going to understand English because you've got that wiring. So you're always going to talk shitty to yourself. That's never going to change. What changes is you develop another voice. So I always joke, my shitty voice is always first on the scene. My negative voice, mean voice is always first on the scene saying something mean and shitty to myself still to this day. But it's fine because right after that voice is my good coach voice. And so. Ah, you stupid. You shouldn't have done that. No one, you loser. Mean. I'm talking mean and that's what I say. Whoa, whoa, relax, relax. Just a little ice cream. Not a big deal. We're going to figure this out and we're going to move forward. So it's like, again, it's not, it's not an absence of a negative voice. You're never going to have that. It's about being aware of the negative voice and being able to deal with it. And so with my clients, I'm not. I'm not getting to a point where they're never going to have a negative voice. I'm getting them right from day one to be aware of that voice and learn how to deal with it more effectively. Hope that makes sense because it makes all the difference in the world, you know? Yeah. Or getting obsessed. It's all kind of the same. I already want to go. Get out of here. It's so nice to be back. Glad you're all here. Thank you for your questions, comments. I really appreciate it. Again, if you're not in my world, make sure you click the link in my bio or go to Program Yourself. Then dot com, go get the free hypnosis session. Go watch the video I made for you.
