This is a YouTube video titled "what to ask right after a binge" containing a monologue by Bethany Smith recorded in July 2025. The content focuses on strategies to understand and manage binge eating by reflecting on triggers and patterns to improve future behavior. It is a personal advice or self-help talk rather than a conversation.
The question to ask immediately after a binge. Anytime that I've overeaten or eaten the wrong foods, I always followed up with a question that helps put me back on track fast. And this stands in stark contrast to what a lot of people do of either going to denial, not thinking about it, or to beat themselves up about it. And the question is, if I could go back in time, knowing what I know now, what would I have done differently? And you're not just saying, oh, I wouldn't have eaten? Because what you want to do is you want to notice what led to that binge. Were you hungry? Were you surrounded by the wrong foods? Were you around people that kind of trigger you to overeat? Were you in a bad mood? Were you in a sad mood? The more you start to understand what leads to the binge, the more you can start to strategically resolve it, because you're going to notice that your binges follow certain patterns, and they happen at certain times in certain situations with certain people. And the more you understand it, the more you can fix it. So stop beating yourself up and stop ignoring it, and start learning from your mistakes so that you can fix them in the future.
