A short YouTube monologue by hypnotist Jim Katsoulis arguing that people should become "a little bit delusional" to lose weight. He recommends imagining and feeling oneself in the desired, thinner body to increase motivation and to learn to think and act like a naturally thin person, while still attending to real-world evidence and effects.

You need to be delusional in order to lose weight. Let me explain what I mean. So I'm a hypnotist and I help people master their weight. And the main tool that I use is I have them imagine themselves in their thin body even when they're overweight. And some people say, well, that's just delusional. You're just teaching them to imagine they're in a different body than they're actually in. But what's the alternative? You're just going to be 100% evidence based because the evidence is going to tell you I'm overweight. Now, I've tried losing weight in the past and it hasn't worked and now you're stuck. So I would suggest that you start your weight journey by becoming a little bit delusional and start by tapping into what it feels like to be in that body. Because not only is it more motivating, but it also is going to teach you how to think and act like a naturally thin person. Now, you don't want to be completely delusional, right? You still want to look at the effects. But I'm telling you, a little bit of delusion is one of the most powerful tools you can use.
