How recruiters can use AI with Linkedin

In this 12‑minute walkthrough, Joe Apfelbaum demonstrates Evvy AI, a recruiter‑focused AI platform that centralises LinkedIn outreach, data enrichment, and multi‑channel research. He shows the dashboard that tracks activity, how to upload and filter 34,000 saved connections, and the Chrome extension that captures contact details directly from LinkedIn profiles. The demo covers AI‑generated direct‑message (DM) templates, shortcut keys (Alt+1‑Alt+7), asset creation, tagging, and bulk sending while staying compliant with LinkedIn’s terms. Joe walks through contact enrichment via screen‑capture, syncing contacts to CRMs or webhooks (e.g., Bullhorn, GoHighLevel), and using the AI agent to pull data from 500+ web sources, Facebook, YouTube, and company websites. He highlights integrations with Claude and ChatGPT for image generation, the ability to create custom images (e.g., a dinosaur on roller skates), and notes that video generation is not yet supported. Pricing is explained (Pro $500 per user/month, affiliate commission 20% for three years), and the distinction between Pro and Premium plans is clarified. Throughout, Joe emphasizes building genuine recruiter relationships, personalising outreach, and leveraging the platform’s automation without violating LinkedIn policies.
Chapters
This is my Evvy AI. When I press login, it shows me my little dashboard. It shows me how many hours I spent. It shows me how many posts I wrote, how many connections, messages, how many people I saved. If you're a recruiter, one of the things you wanna do is you wanna upload all of your connections to your account here. So we have the ability for you to upload all of your connections. Yeah. You see I have 34,000 people saved here in Evvy AI. See on the bottom?
Yep.
And then I can click on filters and then I can filter where it came in from. So if it came in from my social card, or maybe it's— I can filter by people that I know. So imagine if you're a recruiter and you filter by people that you know. Now, now it shows you all the people that you actually know, that you actually have a relationship with. So for example, I have a relationship with Dylan. So I'm going to open up Dylan's profile. Now I have his email, his phone number, his job position, company. I don't have his location and I want to add it. So I'm going to click on Open Social and it opens up his social profile. Now it does say New York City here, so I can easily copy New York City here. And then I can go ahead and then just add New York City right over here.
Gotcha.
But if I use the Google Chrome extension, I don't actually have to go and do it like this. That's if you don't want the extension, you can do it like that. If you want the extension, we do have the extension that shows up right on the side of your browser.
Yeah. I downloaded that and got it, got it installed. So I'm good on that one. Amazing.
Amazing. So like over here, if I have Dylan, you could see his, uh, his connection details. It's all here. Now let's say I was looking for another recruiter. Let's say I'm a recruiter and I'm looking for another recruiter to work with. So I'm going to type in executive recruiter. Okay. I typed in executive recruiter on LinkedIn. Now what I'm gonna do is I'm going to click on people and I'm gonna look for executive recruiters that I'm not currently connected to. So I'm gonna click second degree. You see that?
Yep.
These are executive recruiters I'm not currently connected to. Now what I can do is I can click on message here and LinkedIn will let me send them a message, but I'm not sure what to say. So I push a button and the AI writes what to say. I'd love to learn more about your work as an executive. How can we support you? Strong networking starts with a real conversation. You see that? I press send. Did it take me a long time to write this message?
Yeah. No.
Took me an enormous amount of time.
What did you, what did you push on that, Joe? Was there a little icon there at the top of that message button that you, that you clicked?
No, there's no icon on the message. Um, if I open up a message, I'm going to switch now to second, to first degree. Okay. I'm going from second. I'm going to switch to first degree. Okay. So now I'm looking for executive recruiters that I'm currently connected to. For example, this guy, Ishai Pallone. I press message. Now I go into the box over here. Do you see here there's 3 dots? It's called generate and insert.
Yes.
What does it say next to the words generate and insert? Alt+G.
Oh, Alt+G. There we go. Okay.
So if I click on this, it's the equivalent to pressing Alt+G.
Ah, okay. So that's what you did. I didn't. I didn't see the. I was like, okay. What did you push that popped that in there so quick?
Yeah.
There we go.
Aisha, I am happy to grill your profile. Would you like me to be? I kind of changed it around a little bit.
Yep. Yep.
And I just sent him that. Now I could also use a template. So what are templates? Templates are assets. So I can create a new asset. I can call it Executive Recruiter First Degree. Hey, I work with executive recruiters and help them use LinkedIn more effectively. Do you mind if I send you a short video about the technology I built that helps specifically executive recruiters? Okay. So do you see, I asked that question here?
Sweet. Yep.
Okay. And now I'm gonna click on tags and I can tag it as a DM. You see?
Yep.
DM pitching.
Yep.
And now I'm gonna hit generate and it's gonna write a description for me of this DM. I'm gonna press save asset. Now this asset is here, but this asset is also here under assets, just so you know. So if we scroll here to assets, This asset's also over here and over here I can add a shortcut like Alt+3. So if I add a shortcut called Alt+3, what this will do is if I press Alt+3, it'll automatically land inside the DM. So I'm gonna press, uh, message, and then I'm gonna go here like this, press Alt+3, and the message just appeared. Do you see?
Yep. Yep.
So I can be right over here, just chilling, and I can go to each person. You see, just like this. And then click in here and press Alt+3 and press send. And I can do this all day and all night, as often as I like. I can click in here. I can click Alt+3, hit send.
Yeah.
The reason I like doing this instead of using automation is one, um, it complies with LinkedIn's terms. 2, it helps me see what they did before. Like the conversation.
Yep.
So I'm going to go through every single one of these executive recruiters and press that all 3 button and press send. And then we'll see, we'll see how, how effective this is when the responses start coming in from all these executive recruiters.
Yeah.
Now it's very possible that some of these executive recruiters, as a result of me doing this, will want to book a meeting with me or will want a video. You see?
Yep. Yep.
Most people don't realize the power of sending DMs in this way.
No.
Because DM, and especially using tool like this, let's say you had 3 messages that you need to send. I can send Alt+1, then Alt+2, then Alt+3. You see?
Oh yeah.
So I can send them separately if I wanna include a link or whatever. So I have many different, um, you know, you could do Alt+4, Alt+5, Alt+6, Alt+7, and have messages that you just go out. Depending on what message you need to send out.
Gotcha.
So this makes my life very, very, very easy.
Yeah.
When I'm, when I'm doing a campaign.
And you're in the, you're in the free version of LinkedIn. Do you have a premium account or anything that you're paying for with them?
I am paying for Sales Navigator. So I do have the ability to also use Sales Navigator with LinkedIn.
Okay.
But, you know,
it seems like on the free version, they're limiting how many messages or InMails you can do.
Yeah, they definitely, they definitely limit how many InMails you can do, but they don't message. They don't. This is not an InMail. This is just—
Yeah, you're doing a message. So message, because you're connected, is unlimited.
Yeah, you could send as many messages as you want to your existing connections. This guy Joel happens to be already a client. We have 50 recruiters that are our clients already.
Okay.
Um, and, and many of them are on the pro version of Evvy AI. So you might say, what's the difference between The premium version. You might say, what's the difference between the premium version of Evie AI and the pro version of Evie AI? Wow, what's this? I also sent an email to Tammy. Okay. What is this guy? He's a headhunter. Oh, this is good. So I'll show you the difference between the pro version and the premium version. So Let's say, for example, by the way, Rick is one of our clients as well. He's a great recruiter.
Oh yeah. I think, uh, Joy just turned me on to him. I'm gonna have a conversation with him, I think.
Amazing. Michael North is one of our clients. He's an amazing recruiter, but these are EvAI Pro members because they need strategy on how to grow their business.
Gotcha.
So if you want strategy, people sign up to EvAI Pro because we, we sit down and teach you Um, you know, how, how can a recruiter actually be able to succeed? And do you see, I'm kind of going through these to see if I message these people?
Yep.
Now this person, Diane, she looks interesting. I'm going to click on her profile just to look at her profile. She has 10,000 followers. She's in Philadelphia, but I don't know much about her. So I'm going to click on the check tab button on the top right, which will check the tab to see if I'm connected to her. Do you see it says Diane?
Yep.
I'm going to go ahead and press the open card button and I'm going to check, but I realize I don't have any contact information for her. So I'm going to click on contact info to see if she includes her phone number, but look, her phone number and email and all her stuff is right here. So I'm going to say enrich from visible screen. It's going to take a screenshot of the visible screen and then it's going to import everything in here. Her email, her phone number, her domain, her company, everything is here. And then I press save. And that gets saved. Now I push it to my CRM or my, my Bullhorn or whatever. You know, you can push it any into anywhere that accepts webhooks. And so I just push it and boom, there you go. Now I also noticed that she hasn't posted in 9 months. So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna open up my CRM and then I'm gonna call her directly, cuz that's what I believe good recruiters need to do.
Uh-huh.
But do you notice I have notes over here ready to go? There are notes here ready to go. So I'm going to go ahead and call Diane.
Hi, if you record your name and reason for calling, I'll see if this person is available.
Hi Diane, it's Joe, one of your LinkedIn connections.
Thanks, please stay on the line.
Okay, so I'm waiting for Diane to pick up the phone. Hopefully she'll pick up the phone and I'll have a very meaningful conversation with her. But I don't know what to say yet, so I'm gonna pull up my agent and in 5 seconds it's gonna look up 500 websites. You see that? Yeah. Pulled up 500 websites with everything about her. So if she did pick up the phone, I already would've asked her about her unique methodology of making great CEOs and COO matches, which is a core pillar of her search firm. I would also inquire about her vision for the advisory board and how it supports professional development in current AI job markets. And I would mention her background in the enrolled agent, the EA, and her involvement in community roles like the Swampscott Rotary Club and the Anchor Food Pantry.
I love it.
This is going to help me be able to understand. So, I see that she's in the Boston area. I'm getting a lot of details here that help me understand what she's doing that will help me as an executive recruiter be able to be more effective at having a conversation.
Yeah. Well, that's interesting because it pulled up she's in the greater Boston area, right? And yet she hasn't updated her LinkedIn profile. It still says Philadelphia.
Exactly. Her phone number is a Boston phone number, but she's in Philly. Now I want to keep sending messages to these recruiters and these headhunters. You see, it's like this guy's already a client. You see, hey, I'm Timothy. Thanks for being my client, blah, blah, blah. You see?
Yep.
So what I want to do is I want to build relationships with these people and just keep the conversation going.
Yeah.
Keep, keep building and building and building. And so Every single one of these recruiters are going to get a message from me today. And this guy, I've sent him message after message after message. He has only replied to me a long time ago when he came to my webinar. So I'm going to go to his profile now. And again, I'm going to close this out. I'm going to click on check tab. It's going to open up his little card here. I'm going to notice that I have very little information about him. I'm going to check what lists he's in. He's in a first-degree connection list. I'm going to write that I know him. 'Cause he came to my webinar and he's open for intros. Now I'm gonna see if there's a phone number here and I notice, hell yeah, there's a phone number. So this time what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna copy his information from here and I'm gonna add it as a note. 'Cause sometimes I get the information from other places.
Oh, sure.
So do you see the way I have this as a note? I'm also gonna add an additional note with some additional information over here just to kind of feed the AI. And then I'm gonna go back as a pro feature. I can say, go through all the notes that I left, go through all my notes and enrich the information based on the notes. So it's gonna scan all the notes that I just left and it's gonna fill in all the gaps. So do you see it filled in his phone number? Yeah. It filled in his gender, his birthday, his domain, his company. It filled in all these missing gaps. Now I press save and I press synchronize with GoHighLevel. You see?
Mm-hmm.
Now I'm gonna open it. I'm gonna open this guy's profile. And I'm gonna call him to wish him a happy birthday.
Yeah, there you go.
And I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna pick it up and say, hey dude, I owe you an apology. And he'll be like, for what? For what? I didn't wish you a happy birthday on October 16th. That's how I'm gonna start the call. I owe you an apology. And hopefully he'll pick up the phone. But again, I already researched him. You see?
Yep. Yep. That's awesome.
Look, I'm having the agent research him in case he picks up. Everybody.
The Google subscriber you have called is not available. Please leave a message after the tone.
Hey, Cass, it's Joe Applebaum. I owe you an apology. If you can call me back at 917-865-7631, I'll tell you why. Talk to you soon. God bless you. Okay. And when he calls me back, I'm going to tell him because I missed his birthday.
That's sweet.
Okay. And there you go. There you go. And so that's the idea. The idea is building out. Now, if I want to know who else works at his company, all I got to do is open up this little button here. And do you see it next to his domain name? It says, see who works here.
Yep.
Evvii AI has a database of 480 million people. And so I know all the other employees at his company. Kelly, MD Hassan, Craig, everybody's here. And if I want to research Craig instead, the managing partner, his partner, I just push this button and now I can call Craig instead of Charles. And I can say, hey Craig, I owe Charles an apology, but he's not picking up my phone. Do you think he's really upset at me? But look what I have about him. I have his email address. Wow. I have his phone number. I have his Facebook page. Let's just check his Facebook page. Oh my God, look at him. I can totally like and comment.
Wow.
Now the beauty is Evvy AI doesn't just work on LinkedIn, it also works in Facebook. So you see this person here, my friend Gemma?
Yeah.
I'm gonna go here and I'm gonna leave her a comment. This is powerful, and a compassionate reminder, staying alive can begin with one small decision. Thank you for writing it, Gemma. If someone reading this is in immediate danger, please contact emergency or crisis. I'm just not going to say that because that's weird. I'm going to tag her. Hope to see you at a Speakeasy Mastermind soon. Okay, just added my little touch there, you see?
Yep.
And then I press send.
Sweet.
Okay.
Wow. But that's Face—
that's Facebook. I switched.
So it's working. So literally the only difference is you just open up your Facebook tab. But then it still works the same way. Everything's still the same. You're just in Facebook.
I'm in Facebook. But then I say, you know what, let me see if this guy has any YouTube videos. Charles Moore. Okay. And I see, oh my God, Charles Moore has a Facebook thing, last assignment, or he was interviewed here, whatever. Right.
Okay.
Or I find Charles Moore right here, interview with Charles Moore. And I want to leave a comment on this post. So I go in here and I push a button and then a comment appears and I press comment. And I just left a comment on this post from, from, from 10 years ago. So now I commented on Facebook. I commented on LinkedIn. I commented on YouTube. I mean, this is A dream come true for a recruiter that wants to be able to do whatever they need to do to be successful.
Yeah.
Now I can also collect information from websites. I don't only collect information from LinkedIn. So if I'm on this website here, I could literally download everything on this website in seconds. I could do a full X-ray on the website and know everything about them.
Interesting.
I could do a full— I can know what softwares they use. I can know who all their people are. It's really powerful. And so I, I go through this and I build relationships with people and really get to know them by taking the time to go just a little bit deeper.
Yeah.
See, this is him.
Yeah.
This is him right over here. Send an email. Do you see his emails right here? I'm hovering over it.
Yep.
If I click on contact information, It's different than this one here. It looks like his email changed. Oh, look at that. He has the wrong email. Look, it says johnsword@nextgensearch.com. Meanwhile, this one is cass@nextgensearch.com. You see, he put someone else's email under his name.
Interesting.
Isn't that funny? Let me go find him on YouTube now. I just clicked on his YouTube link. His YouTube link doesn't even work. Let me click on his Twitter link. His Twitter link doesn't work either. His Facebook link doesn't work either. He's obviously on Twitter if he has a Twitter here. So let me search him on Twitter by clicking on the Twitter icon here. You see that? Nothing's coming up for him. Let me see. Castmore. Castmore Recruiter. I can't find him here. But if I did want it, let's say this was him and I wanted to reply to him, I would click on the little reply button over here. And guess who would write a reply?
Sure.
Evie AI. Boom.
And I guess it's another way to validate the data, whether it's good, bad, or bad data. If it's somebody that, let's just say they've retired or whatever, then you just remove them from your Your list?
Yeah, and remove them from my connections. Exactly.
Yeah, that's sweet.
Exactly.
So I know we can do images and stuff. Can you do videos through Avi? Uh,
you, you cannot do videos yet, but that's coming very, very soon. Okay, you definitely can do images, lots of different images. Like for example, I said I'm on LinkedIn Live right now and I shared this image or whatever, whatever.
I love the images. I had a lot of fun with that on Saturday.
Yeah.
That was a lot of fun.
You could do some great stuff with images for sure, but video, not yet. It's coming soon.
Okay. And then tell me about the referral program. How does your referral— because you mentioned that on the webinar.
Yeah. So, we have something called an affiliate program where we pay 20% for 3 years. So, we charge $500 a month per user.
Okay.
So, imagine you have a recruiting firm that has 10 users and they want to buy into this For that, it would be $5,000 a month for them. And for you, as a referral partner, you would make $1,000 a month for 3 years. That's $36,000 for each referral.
Okay. So it's not based on whether they become a member of the Pro or Premium. It's all based upon consulting services, really, where they're really actually working with you.
It's revenue. It's revenue.
Yeah.
It's revenue generation. But yeah, our software is $500 a month. for the Pro version.
Okay.
For the monthly version. So, some people are like, hey, I want to sign up to a monthly version of Pro and I want 10 employees to get on. So, I was like, yeah, it's $500 per person times 10. That's $5,000 a month.
Sweet. Yep.
That's the idea. So, you make the referral and you get the commission. That's the idea.
So, because I think, I mean, I guess as I'm thinking through this, Joe, when I look at a tool like this, if I'm working with, especially, you know, with a staffing background, but I'm even thinking non-staffing companies now, Yeah. You know, how many of them are using ZoomInfo or they're using—
And they're paying that. They're paying $5,000, $10,000 for ZoomInfo. They could be—
Yeah. I mean, they're paying a boatload of money for— and sometimes it's redundant expenditures. Yeah, they don't need it. I can do everything in one spot.
Yeah. We also have the agent can do things like, you know, write those templates that I wrote over here. The agent can write the templates. The agent can write the content. The agent can create an image. So you can say, make an image of me sitting on a chair in a professional studio wearing a suit with lights on me, like really nice white lights on me. And in back of me, there's a sign that says, photo shoot in progress. Okay, so I just press enter. Did I put an image of myself here?
No.
No, but it knows what I look like.
Yeah.
This is the only thing that knows what I look like. You see?
Yep. Yeah, I know. I had a ton of fun creating the, uh, creating images. That was, uh—
But the crazy thing about this is even if you're in ChatGPT or Claude, I can say, use Evie AI to create an image of a dinosaur with roller skates, whatever. And I press enter and it's going to use Evie AI to create an image of a dinosaur with roller skates. Do you see the way it's triangulating?
Yeah.
It's loading Evie AI now inside Claude. It's generating the image. And within 5 seconds, the image is going to load of a dinosaur with roller skates.
That's crazy.
Okay, so show image. There you go. We got a dinosaur with roller skates.
How the world has changed, my friend. How the world has changed.
Claude doesn't create images. Claude doesn't have the capability to create images, but Evie AI has an MCP for Claude. So if you go to settings and you go to MCPs, you can attach this to Claude and you're good to go.
Oh, okay.
So I'm connected to Claude and I'm connected to ChatGPT.
Okay. I'll have to do that because I'm learning more and more about Claude as well as I go. So yeah, yeah, again, it's all, it's all about the interaction, how they work. And so I don't have to do so much. I'd rather, I'd rather be on the phone having live conversations with people about their business than—
Yeah,
doing it.
And then we have, and then we have this social business card. When people scan your business card, their information goes into your connections, and then you can click on filter, and then where it came in from, social card, and you could see all the people that came in from the social card, you see.
Gotcha.
And then you can organize their information. You could enrich it and all that jazz. You can call them, email them, whatever.
Yep. Perfect. Perfect. Well, Joe, this has been great. I appreciate you doing some work this evening with me to walk through that stuff. I'm sure as I get going and stuff, I'm— I'll probably— I know I'm gonna try to do the— there's that community thing the next 3 afternoons from like noon to 5 Central Time, and then they've got the LinkedIn training on my calendar. So, I'm going to try to pop in as much of those as I can when I'm doing work-work for me. But I want to take advantage of all the things you're offering. So, this has been great.
Awesome. Well, thank you very much. Really appreciate you. And I look forward to talking to you soon.
We definitely will. Appreciate you, Joe. Thanks so much. All
right. Take care. Bye.
Hey, have a good one. Bye-bye.
