Rocky Bleier, a Notre Dame football player, survived a grenade explosion in Vietnam that destroyed his foot and hamstring. Doctors said he'd never play again. He refused to believe them, committed fully to recovery, and made it back to the NFL, proving that decisive belief and refusing doubt can overcome seemingly impossible odds.
Chapters
The book was by Frank Gifford. And one of the chapters was on Rocky Bleier. Rocky Bleier went on to win 4 Super Bowls with the Pittsburgh Steelers. But before that, and after graduating from Notre Dame, he was in Vietnam in the war and had his foot blown up, blown apart, and shrapnel and gunfire in his hamstring. He was damn near dead, actually. And multiple surgeries, and the doctors are like, your football career is over. They forget about it. And Rocky said, no, I don't believe that. I believe something different. So this is mindset. This is mindset. You make up your mind to do something and you're all in. Let me tell you something.
