90% of Trading Strategies are Garbage (Use This One Instead)

In this 30‑minute tutorial Josiah Stewart argues that the majority of YouTube‑promoted trading systems are overly complex and ineffective. He presents a single, minimalist day‑trading approach that relies on the high and low of the London session as pre‑drawn support and resistance zones for trading the New York session. After explaining global trading sessions (London, New York, Tokyo) and their overlap, he shows how to configure the free “Kill Space Zones” indicator to display session boundaries. He then details how to mark the London high (resistance) and low (support) on 1‑hour or 15‑minute charts, drop to a 1‑minute chart for entry, and follow a strict rule set: wait for price to touch a zone after the NYSE open, look for a break of the most recent swing (low for shorts, high for longs), enter on the break, place a stop just beyond the opposite swing, and target recent lows/highs or the original London zone. He demonstrates multiple live examples on futures (NQ, ES, YM, gold), including break‑and‑retest scenarios. The video also promotes his paid “Inner Circle” community (live trade alerts, coaching, trading psychologist) and a separate video on leveraging other people’s capital to amplify returns. Throughout, the tone is conversational, persuasive, and confident, emphasizing that simplicity, session awareness, and capital leverage are the real edge.

Let's be real for a second. 90% of the trading strategies that you see on YouTube are absolute garbage. They're just designed to look pretty. They use 10 different confusing indicators and they are honestly just made to look— the person selling them look smart, but they don't actually print money. Most people spend years strategy hopping, going from one strategy to another strategy, just trying to find that one secret strategy that never misses. And during that entire process, they end up blowing their accounts and losing money every single time. Now, trust me, I know this because I was that guy 8 years ago. But once I stopped looking for that magic and I started actually looking at the real data, everything changed. I realized I literally only needed one simple, boring setup to hit my first million dollars day trading. Now, look, it's important that you understand that trading is not a get-rich-quick scheme. It took me over 3 years of trial and error to get to where I'm at today. But in this video, I'm going to throw away all the trash that distracted me for those first 3 years I'm handing you the exact strategy that I wish that I had started with, the one that I literally use every single morning to pull out 5 or 6 figures a month in literally less than like 30 minutes a day. So with that being said, grab your notebook, grab your favorite snack, maybe grab some water because I'm about to show you why less is actually more. Let's jump into it. All right. So before we hop into the charts and I break down this strategy, there's one important thing that you need to understand, and that is trading sessions. If you don't know what trading sessions is, That's when the actual hedge funds and the banks and the people that are actually moving the markets, this is their trading window. This is when they're actually trading. And there's obviously people trading from all over the world. There's banks in all different parts of the world. There's hedge funds. There's people with all these different types of money in all different types of the world. So you'll see here we have the London session. This is when a lot of people that are trading the London stock market, this is when they're actually trading. It starts at about 4:00 AM Eastern Standard Time and it lasts all the way to about 12:00 PM Eastern Standard Time. Then we have the New York session. This is when all the New York traders, New York banks, hedge funds, things like that. This is when they're active in the markets, most of them from 9:00 AM up until 6:00 PM. And then Tokyo session is from 8:00 PM all the way up until 5:00 AM. Now, the reason why this is important and the reason we need to understand this is because the strategy we're about to go over, although it's extremely boring and it's extremely simple, we need to understand that we're trading based off of what previous sessions did because the London session will give us a nice tell of what will happen during the New York session. Same thing, the New York session will tell us and will affect how the New York session happens and flows. And then the Tokyo, sorry, how the Tokyo session happens and flows. And then the Tokyo session will tell us how the London session happens and flows. So we need to understand that. The main thing that we're doing with this strategy that we're about to go over is we're using the data during the London session to help us figure out what our New York session is about to do. And that's because the best trading session to actually trade, the session that has the most volume, is gonna be New York session. And you'll see here, you'll notice here actually that there's an overlap. So New York session and London session are actually open at the same time from 9 AM up until 12 PM, because London session stops at 12. So during this overlap, when New York and London, which are the two biggest markets, when those two are open, that's when most of the volume is happening. And that's when we are taking these setups. But you first need to understand trading sessions. But let's hop into the charts now so you can understand everything else about this strategy and Honestly, see how simple yet amazing it is. All right, so here we are on the charts. The basis and foundation of this strategy is all based on support and resistance. Now, in order for us to get our chart set up correctly, I do suggest for you to head over to indicators really quickly and type in this indicator called Kill Space Zones, right? You'll see it by this person named Oscar VS. Now you'll see this yellow line and this white line pop up. This is essentially telling us the yellow line, that's when London session started. And remember, this strategy utilizes what happens in London session. And then the white line tells us when New York session started. So it just makes it a lot easier for us to see when the sessions are. Now, when you first put the indicator on, uh, you should go into your settings because it'll look a lot different than mine. But if you copy my exact settings right here, then it'll make it look like how mine look right here. So under inputs, just copy this. Under style, just copy this. The ones that I have checked on, check on. The ones I have checked off, check off, and that's really it. Then you'll have your charts that look like mine. By default, it comes a bunch of different colors and it's all over the chart. I hate that because all I need to see is the London and the New York session. So as I mentioned, this is a support and resistance trading strategy based off of the London session. If you don't know what support or resistance is, you have to understand that price creates these floors and it creates these roofs. The floor is a support zone. The roof is a resistance zone. And how it works, let's say we're looking at the price of Bitcoin, right? And let's say down here Bitcoin is $1,000. And then let's say up here Bitcoin is $5,000, right? What ends up happening is, imagine this yellow line right here is the price of Bitcoin. When price of Bitcoin goes down to $1,000, most people are like, oh, that's super cheap. So everybody starts buying it. And whenever everybody starts buying it, that makes the price go up. So that indeed creates a floor. Now, same thing vice versa with the roof. When Bitcoin is at $5,000 per Bitcoin, everybody's like, oh, that's mad expensive. I should sell it right now and lock in some profits. So it gets into $5,000 per Bitcoin, everybody sells it, and that causes price to go down. And it creates this cycle of price tapping into these resistance and into these support zones.. And this is my main basis of how I day trade every single day. And this is the basis and foundation of the strategy that we're about to go over, except we're not necessarily looking at just the price of Bitcoin or the price of the underlying asset that we're looking over. Keep in mind, this strategy works and I trade across most futures pairs as far as NQ, ES, YM, and even gold. Um, I don't really trade it too much with cryptocurrency. But if you wanted to, you could test that out. But for the most part, I trade it with these indices right here that you see. But this isn't just based off of the price of the indice that we're looking at. It's based off of the market structure that's happened during London session. The reason being is because these support zones and these resistance zones, specifically the highest point that was created during London session and the lowest point that was created during London session, those support support and resistance zones are extremely respected during New York session. Meaning when price creates a— let's say this is, this entire thing is London session, right? When price creates a high, let's imagine this is the high of London session, and creates a low of London session, price can be chilling all in here. Then as soon as New York session happens, it'll tap into either the high of London session And then the low of London session, and it'll bounce off those areas. It'll treat those as if they are the strongest support or resistance zones ever created in the entire world. It's actually crazy. You're going to see a bunch of examples here when we go over it. But as I said, the first step is understanding that there are trading sessions. The second step is understanding support or resistance. And the third step is really being able to mark it off and look at it in real time on actual candlesticks. So I want to run through a bunch of examples here so you guys can see exactly what I'm doing. I can actually delete all of these right now. These are trades that we actually took live inside of my Inner Circle. Now I mentioned my Inner Circle. If you don't know what my Inner Circle is, it is where I help traders become profitable. In it, we have live trading every single day, Monday through Friday, from me and other profitable coaches. Every single trade that I take and every single trade that the other coaches take is sent out in real time as well, so you can take our same trades, the exact entries, the exact exits. You don't just get to follow our trades, but we also teach you exactly how to trade how we trade so you can do it for yourself, because the whole goal is for you guys to be able to do it for yourself, not just follow somebody else's trades. So on the live calls, we're answering questions, we're mentoring people, we're coaching people, we're walking through strategies, we're giving you reasoning for why we're looking for certain setups, why we're entering certain setups, why we're not entering certain setups. In the Inner Circle, you also get access to our dedicated trading psychologist who helps you master the mental game of trading. As we literally just went over, it's 80% psychology when it comes to trading. So it was very important for me that I did include a trading psychologist inside of my Inner Circle. I essentially made the Inner Circle to be everything that I, I wish I had when I first started off trading, to allow me to get to the point that I'm at now much quicker. So if you're somebody who's actually serious about trading, regardless if you're a complete beginner or you're an advanced trader that's just trying to get better, the Inner Circle is something that'll be of value to you. So click the link inside the description down below to have the opportunity to join my Inner Circle, to be able to elevate your trading and be able to get help to get to the point where you want to get to coming from people who are at the point that most people want to get to when it comes to trading. Anyways, as I mentioned, this is one of the strategies that we trade live literally every single morning inside the Inner Circle. But, um, let me break down exactly what we saw here, what we ended up doing on this setup right here, because this is a perfect example of it. And this will show you guys exactly how we mark this up and how we look for this entry as well. So the first thing we want to see— honestly, you can go down to the 15-minute time frame to make it a lot easier. I'm usually doing this on either the 1-hour or the 15-minute time frame. And you want to see the highest point that was created from the start of the London session, which is this yellow line, up until the beginning of New York session, which is this white line. And we want to mark off the highest point, and we also want to mark off the lowest point. Now, how I always mark off my areas, and you'll see here, is I always use the highest wick to the highest body from our resistance zones, just like this, the highest wick to the highest body. And then my support zones, I'm doing the opposite. I'm doing from the lowest wick to the lowest body, which is right here, and I'm just dragging it across. These are now my support zones from London session and my resistance zones from London session. And then all I'm waiting for at that point is during the start of New York session, I'm waiting for price to then tap back into this either resistance zone or this support zone, give me my entry criteria, and then I'm hopping into the trade. Now we're going to go over what my entry criteria looks like It's very simple, but we need to see a shift of market structure. What does that look like? So let's say this is a resistance zone and we see our candlesticks that are moving to the upside just like this, right? We're moving to the upside, creating these lows, these higher lows all the time, and these higher highs all the time, right? What I want price to do is to tap into my resistance zone. And at that point, I mark it off the most recent low that was created before it tapped into my resistance zone.. So in this example, the most recent low that was created is right here. Once I see the most recent low that was created after it tapped into my resistance zone, I'm then waiting for price to break below that area. And as soon as it breaks below that most recent low, I'm entering into the trade for a sell. I'm putting my stop loss above wherever the most recent high is, and we'll go over a real example of this in a second. And then I'm targeting some recent low areas. Let's say I could target this recent low down here., and that is how my trade is playing out. Now keep in mind, as soon as it taps into my resistance zone or my support zone, I'm going down to the 1-minute timeframe. It doesn't matter what timeframe I drew my zone on, whether I drew the support zone or resistance zone on the 1-hour timeframe, the 4-hour, the 30-minute, or the 15-minute. I'm going down to the 1-minute timeframe for my entry. That's where I'm looking for price to break below most recent low or break below most recent high in a buying example. I'll show you it right now. So same thing, price is creating all these, uh, new highs. As soon as it taps into it, I'm waiting for price to break above a most recent high. This is the most recent high, so I'm waiting for price to break above it. I'd enter into it with my stop loss below the most recent low, and then I'm targeting a recent high point. That's how it works on the flip side if price was bouncing off of a resistance zone. All right, so let's go over this example really quickly right here, this actual example that we had taken. So we're on the 15-minute time frame. Now we just fast forward until, uh, New York session obviously started, which is the white line. We'd go down to our 1-minute time frame, and let's just wait for price to tap into our either resistance zone or our support zone. Now keep in mind, with this strategy, I'm not taking an entry before the stock market opens. The stock market is different than the trading session starting. The New York trading session starts at 8 o'clock or 9 o'clock Eastern Standard Time. But the stock market doesn't open up until 9:30 Eastern Standard Time or 8:30 Central Standard Time. So I'm not taking an entry no matter what until, um, that has happened. I'll show you guys a bunch of examples here why it didn't work out, and I think right here it didn't work out as well if I had taken it before the stock market had opened. Now I'll show you guys exactly why in a second. You'll see here when this 8:30 candlestick happens Um, here it is right here. You'll see how drastic and high volume this stock market open candlestick is. This is the stock market opening. I don't take that trade specifically for the reason that it's sporadic. It is super hard to know when or what it's going to do at that point. So I usually will wait until after the stock market opens, which like I said is at 9:30 Eastern Standard Time, and then I'll look for my setup.. So here, even though we've tapped into the zone and this would've been the most recent low, or this would've been the most recent low for an entry, I still wouldn't have entered this trade, uh, because this was all happening before the stock market opened. So now that the stock market is open, let's fast forward, see if we get price to tap back into it, which we do right here. And as it taps back into it, we create a new low right here. So this would be the most recent low after price tapped into our, uh, London resistance zone, as well as the fact that we're after the stock market opening, and we simply just wait for price to see if it breaks this area right here. Let's see if we get a break of it. Still hasn't broken it just yet. Here, it broke it. So we've got an entry right here. We put our stop loss right above that recent swing high, which is what we just talked about, and we could target this low right here. We could target the London low right here, or we can try and hold it longer to target all the way down here. But let's just say we targeted this London low right here. Let's just see how this plays out. It sold down, and as you see, this would have hit our full take profit in a matter of a few minutes. And this is simply by just waiting for price to tap back into either our recent resistance zone or our recent support zone, and then waiting for our entry criteria, making sure that it's after 9:30 Eastern Standard Time, after that, uh, New York Stock Exchange open, um, candlestick, and then wait for our entry. Had a break of the most recent low, entered with our stop loss above the most recent high. We targeted a recent low. We could have obviously held this trade a little bit longer and made more money, but we're okay with this amount of money right here. And that is the trade. Very, very simple. And then we can fast forward here and we can actually see that price ends up respecting this zone once again. So if we fast forward here, let's go to a higher timeframe so it goes a little bit faster. We can see that price tapped into the area, the same area, the same London high area again. And what did it do? It ended up selling off of that same exact area again. So as you can see, these London high and London low support and resistance zones are extremely strong and extremely respected. We can literally go to this day right here, the same exact thing. Now, I didn't explain this to you guys before, but with support and resistance, right, let's just draw this back out. We know that price will continue to respect it, right? It'll continue going up and down inside of it. And then what happens if price breaks outside of it? 'cause there are times when price breaks above resistance zones or support zones. But the cool thing about support and resistance zones is the fact that when price breaks above, let's say a resistance zone, it'll break above it and it'll come back down to do what is called a retest. It'll come back down and retest that previous resistance zone and treat it as if it's a support zone. It'll bounce off of it and we can make money off of this what we call a break and retest. Now, same thing vice versa with support zones. Price will continue to support a support zone or continue to respect a support zone. And then when it breaks below a support zone, it'll buy back up and end up treating that previous support zone as a resistance zone and selling off of it. And we could catch price selling off of it. Now, this same break and retest that we just went over applies the same exact way to our London high and our London low support and resistance zones. And you can see a perfect example of it right now. We have our London low. Let's do all this over again so you can see it in real time. So if we're on the 15-minute time frame, we can mark up our high right here, right? We can mark up our low of the London session right here, just like I showed you guys, from the body, the highest body to the highest wick, and from the lowest wick to the lowest body right here. And as you see, price ended up breaking through it. It did not respect the London low support zone. But what ended up happening? What ended up happening? As soon as price came back up to that same zone that was the support zone, it tapped into it and sold off of it. We could have made money here trading the same exact thing. So if we went down to the 1-minute timeframe, as soon as price tapped into the zone right here, we see that price created a low right here. As soon as price tapped into the zone, it created a low., then we would've entered the same exact way we just entered that other trade on a break of that low. So as soon as it breaks this low, we would've entered, put our stop loss above the most recent high, which is right here, and we could target a recent low. So this could have been the most recent low that we could have targeted. And as you see, this trade would've ended up winning as well. And this is still based off of the simple support and the simple resistance zones that we literally just went over by literally just drawing out The London high and the London low. This strategy is, it takes all the guesswork out. If you're somebody who has been trading for a little bit, or you haven't been able to understand support and resistance, you don't understand what's a good support or resistance zones. With this strategy, you don't even have to think about it. And that's why I love it. And that's why I love teaching it to my students, because you're literally looking at the predetermined support and resistance zones already made by our London session traders, the London high, and the London low. We have another perfect example of it right now where we see we have the low of London created right here and the high of London created right here. If we go down to our 1-minute timeframe and wait for price to break above it, which you see right here, price ended up breaking above that London area without respecting that London resistance area. And then it came down and gave us a retest of that same area. Now what ended up happening? If we fast forward a little bit, we can see we created a high right here. So then we'd be looking for price to break above that most recent high, which is right here. We'd enter as soon as it breaks above that most recent high. We put our stop loss below the most recent low, which is right here. Or if you want a little bit of a safer stop loss, you could put it below the overall low, which is right here. And then you could target a recent high. Which is right up here. And let's fast forward and see how this ended up playing out. You see, price even came back down to retest it and retest that same exact zone and respected it before fully going up and hitting our full take profit. So as you can see, these London support and resistance zones are extremely respected. We can see it multiple times. I don't even have this drawn up right now, but we can see the high point created here on London session And I'm just going to draw this out. I'm dragging across. Look how many times price tried to break below it but couldn't stay below it. Tried to break below it, couldn't stay. Break below it, couldn't stay. It came again to it, tried to break below it, it couldn't stay below it. These zones are extremely, extremely respected when it comes to marking up and looking at your overall high and low when it comes to the London session and trading it as soon as the New York session happens. So to recap, we're simply just marking off the high and the low of London session. Once it's marked up, we're either waiting for price to tap into it and reject off of it, or break outside of it, retest it, and show us our entry criteria. We've went over the entry criteria, which is simply a break of either the most recent high created if we're looking for buys, or the most recent low created if we're looking for sells. There's literally no guesswork with finding or trying to figure out what is a good support or resistance zone because it's already plotted on the charts. We see it happening during London session and we can easily mark it off. And at that point, we're simply just waiting for price to tap it and give us either a sell or a buy opportunity. Now, everything I just showed you, the simple strategy, the clean chart setup, and the multiple examples that we just went over, that is the edge. You now have the system that 90% of people on YouTube are missing because they're too busy chasing garbage strategies and strategy hopping from this one to this one, to this one. But I'm gonna be 100% real with you. You can have the absolute best strategy in the world, but if you're trying to trade that strategy with $200 or $300 in your account, you're honestly playing this trading game on hard mode. You're stressing over pennies when you should just be focused on the process. The biggest cheat code that I've found in the recent years of trading isn't just a strategy, it's knowing how to get access to real capital and utilizing other people's money. That way you don't have to risk your own money. I've put together this video right here that breaks down exactly how I take simple $500 and I turn it into over $11,000 a month in payouts leveraging other people's money. With that being said, if you're serious about taking the strategy that we just went over and pairing it with other people's money so you can leverage to actually take real payouts, click this video right here and I'll show you all about it.
