This is a podcast titled "SSP163: From Depression to $Million Business: Liam’s Peptide & Microdosing Journey" recorded in June 2025. It features a conversation between Jordan Candlish and Liam Donovan discussing Liam's personal journey from depression to entrepreneurship, focusing on microdosing, peptides, health, wellness, and business mindset. They explore topics such as biohacking, emotional health, business growth, and the importance of alignment and energy management in entrepreneurship.
All right, brother. We're back at it.
We're back at it.
Good to have you back on the podcast, man. How are you feeling today?
Feeling good. Feeling, I would say, a lot more clear the last two days. I just feel like my energy levels are back.
Yeah. Yeah. We're like day five of our ayahuasca integration, and I feel much clearer as well. I feel like I've come back to earth a little bit, and it's allowing for more enjoyment in business tasks, doing things. The first few days, I was just a lot in resistance to anything, you know, material. I was more just wanting to hang out in that space of nothing.
Yeah.
And everything at the same time. Yeah. Which, you know, everyone says that's normal. Right. Like, take. Give yourself the space to integrate, and I get it now. It makes sense to me. Yeah, absolutely. Good to be back at it. Yeah. Yeah. Well, I wanted to chat today about some of the things that we've been up to together and some of the things that we're working towards in the future as well, because, you know, we've crossed paths in a. A few different ways, but now we have the opportunity to create something together, which is what I'm most excited about. And we're both really passionate about similar things, you know, specifically health and wellness and, you know, the bridge between that and business and entrepreneurship as well. So today we're going to explore some of that and some of our lessons that we've learned along the way. But why don't you tell some of the Listen. Listeners or viewers kind of this recent opportunity that's came our way and why we're deciding to. To collaborate on this.
Yeah. So I'll speak about. It's called Peak Human, and essentially Peak Human was started by Dr. Sanjeev. Goal. It is still a private, like, healthcare practice, a facility that has some incredible biohacking modalities. And then Sanjeev figured out that, well, peptides are amazing and they work, and his clients really want them. So it started small just for his clients, and. And then he really realized that there's a gap in the market with BPC157 specifically, and he put it into a capsule form, and it's been going for about three years. And then we both did a keynote at an event, I think, in November, and he spoke a little bit about microdosing. In my speech, I spoke a little bit about peptides, and then we just had, like, an incredible conversation afterwards, and I went to his place the next day, and I was just like, look, how can how can I be involved? How can we work together? And he was, you know, amazing enough to be very open to that idea. And then, you know, a couple months of putting some time in and you know, we figured out a deal that works really well for us. And then, you know, being able to bring you and Amanda in as well is like, it's feels very, very good for me. It's been a full circle moment. As you know, Jordan coached me I think four or five years ago, helped me kind of take that jump out of corporate and then now being business partners so feels super special and yeah, feels very much in alignment for me and I just really believe peptides are the next frontier of health.
Yeah, man. So amazing. It's gonna be a theme of our conversations as we dive deeper into alignment and how we're now choosing to operate in business and making that the primary focus to stay in alignment always. But dude, it's so amazing to see your evolution. Get to call you a soul brother now. It's so special. And get to do business together too. For those that don't know, when you transitioned out of corporate, you started a microdosing company, which is just so cool, bro. And people are always intrigued to learn more about that. Why don't you tell us a bit more about that journey and how it's led you to this point now?
Yeah, absolute. So when I, I think about five years ago, I found myself in a pretty dark depression after I just had a, a lot of pretty sad life events happen. I lost a best friend to an overdose. I lost my dog two months later unexpectedly through the ice. My father's Parkinson's symptoms was at an all time worse where he had toxicity to his brain and yeah, I thought he was going to be going to a psych ward for, for the rest of my life. So that put me into this like just a dark, dark place. Not really knowing how to emotionally regulate, not really knowing where to go to get help. And I fortunately came across a Reddit post that said LSD for depression. And I was like, okay, let me go down this rabbit hole a little bit, started learning about it, you know, what is microdosing? And microdosing is essentially taking a sub perceptual level of a psychedelic. And you're supposed to carry on with your normal day to day functions and notice enhancements in mood, energy levels, you know, creativity and focus. So I ended up giving it a go that next day and within like three attempts it was pretty life changing for me and I started feeling like myself again. I Was able to emotionally regulate again. And it really for me was a bridgeway into wellness because then I started going down the path of meditation, breath work, yoga, float therapy. And I had enhanced experiences when I microdose. And I was always a person prior that tried like meditation or breath work and always thought to myself it wasn't for me. But when I microdosed I was able to get into this nice feeling of peace and just connectedness to source or God. And yeah, it was just this beautiful bridgeway. And then once I saw what it did for my father with Parkinson's, it reduced his tremor, his walk up better. And just to see that one microdose being more beneficial than all these pharmaceutical drugs that he was on was pretty eye opening to me. And then I just felt really called to start a company and start sharing, you know, psychedelics with others because quite frankly, there's just like a pretty big gap where a lot of the psychedelic companies were all recreational rather than, you know, more on the human optimization and healing for mental health. And yeah, started that I think about three and a half years ago. It's been a ride, lots of ups and downs, lots of hurdles, but because of that it has now led me to opportunities like this. And I'm so thankful that I went down some pretty tough battles because now I just feel like my capacity is at another, I guess level where I can take on stress and a lot of things just not that used to bother me a lot. They just don't really bother me too much.
Yeah, it's huge, man. It's amazing how business can provide those lessons. And I definitely reflect on the biggest lessons in my life have come from my relationship with Amanda and my relationship with my business. And I feel like for men we get so much growth from that. Right. What have been some of the main lessons for you in the first phases of your micro grossing company? What has it taught you?
I would say for the first year after coming out of corporate, my brain was still like 10 to 12 hour work days. Go, go, go, go. Time, more time, the better. And what I've really realized after three years of entrepreneurship, it's not the more time doesn't necessarily mean the better outcome. And to really take time, especially for me in the mornings, to just get really centered and the quality of work is so much more important than the quantity. And speaking about this yesterday as well. And just like I think entrepreneurs we, there's always a million things to do, but if you actually give yourself that space to step back and to really look at your business, from an outsider's perspective, you can figure out what are the actual big levers here. And, you know, I myself got caught up a lot in just like the operations and these little tasks that, you know, you need to be able to. What's the word? Pass them off to someone else to do. And I struggled with that initially, where I was like, I got to do it. You know, I'm going to be better at this specific thing. But in order to scale that, you know, you got to switch that mindset. So I think those two things were definitely some big takeaways. And now that I understand a little bit more, to scale something.
Yeah, likewise. You know, we were talking about this over tea yesterday and how alignment being the primary thing that accelerates growth in business and that sometimes in the. To the mind, it's almost counterintuitive or counterproductive because you're saying, hey, I'm actually going to take more time for myself to do nothing in the morning rather than jump back into work. And to the mind, that's like, we don't have. I don't have time to do that. There's so many things we've got to do. But to your soul or to the. To the part of you that's wired for expansion, you start to raise in frequency or in consciousness, and then you start to see solutions that weren't available to you before because you're at a lower energy or maybe there's some fear there or whatever. So we were talking about how it's so important to keep your vibration as high as possible because you can just jump and skip, you know, so many hours or months in doing something that may not be the highest contribution as an entrepreneur or a creator, because it's.
Giving you that ability to receive.
Yeah.
And, you know, that is. It feels so much better because things don't actually have to be that hard. You know, a lot of my mindset in corporate was just like, push through the door. If something isn't working, just push harder. And now the realization, take a step back. And if, you know these certain things are supposed to be in your life, they'll come, but you've got to be in that energetic frequency.
Definitely. Yeah. I've learned a lot through Matt Gray, being one of the mentors who I've watched be really good at that. Like really hire the right people, train the people up so he stays in that zone. And probably in the last 12 to 16 months in my coaching business, I've really leaned into the discomfort of putting more intention on Training, hiring and training the right people. Because that resistance I had was like, I can't be fucked doing that. I'd rather just do it myself. It's quicker, 100%. So. And I've learned that, okay, there's some short term work, you could say, or short term effort into hiring the right person, training the right person, putting together the right system, so when this person comes on board, they're just as good as you, if not better. And in the long term, you free up so much more capacity and an energetic availability to create in the area that you're most suited to. And that's the thing that I've realized, ah, okay, I get it now. I need to shift and see the pleasure in the short term effort because the long term gain is huge rather than the short term pleasure of hey, let me just edit this video myself and get the dopamine quickly from the feedback from an audience or whatever it might be.
And I think on that it really comes down to staying in frequency of abundance because I find if you're in that scarcity mindset, you think like the times ticking. So it's like, I don't have time to do that short term lift, I'm going to just do it. But if you have that longer vision, you know, a few years out and abundant, you're like, yeah, I've got time, I can do that short term lift for a long term gain. And I think that's something I really struggled with initially. Just that just like times, times click it. Like when you cut off your income, you're like, you know, I got this many more days and I was showing.
Up for me in so many micro ways. Right. Even around how I was making content. Back in 2021, I was just in this mode of post, like creating posts, just get it out more like three videos out a day. And I wasn't putting a lot of time and effort into like the editing and how it looked and the camera. Just get it out.
Yeah.
And then when I brought Amanda on board, she really slowed me down because she was like looking at all these different ways and then I'm like, let's get the angle right, let's make sure this is perfect. I was like, nah, who cares? Just get it out. But that was coming from scarce. There's an element of scarcity and lack of abundance there. Yeah. Because I was like, we just don't have time to be playing with these, you know, details. And in doing that, what, what she has brought into the content in the slowing down planning, it Out a little bit more. Not rushing. One video can, you know, get 10 million views and completely transform business.
Then that video is more important than 20 others.
That's right, yeah. Yeah. I feel like initially it's quantity, but then as you get a bit longer into it, quality is everything. But mate, tell us more about the peptides, because the peptides, you know, for you, you've become someone who is a bit of an industry leader in terms of thought leader in this space because you've been experimenting with these things longer than anyone else that I know. And I'd love to hear more about what peptides have done for you and why you're so passionate about sharing this with the world.
Yeah, appreciate that. And I started messing around with peptides, I think in 2018, actually. Ben Greenfield, I read his book Boundless, I believe back then, and he talked about peptides and they just seem fascinating to me because. And for those of you that don't know, peptides essentially just mean a short chain amino acid. If the chain is from 1 to 49, it's considered a peptide, and if it's 50 and above, it's considered a protein. And I know that doesn't necessarily mean that much to many of the viewers, but you can think of peptides sending signals to the cells in the body to do what they're actually created to do. And that's what I really love about peptides is, you know, it is sending natural signals to your body, your natural processes to just kind of give a little nudge in the right direction. Whereas something like, you know, comparing to testosterone, it shuts down your natural processes. And I'm not against testosterone, but I like the way that peptides work in the body. It feels more natural, it feels more, yeah, I guess conducive for it just being it just working cleanly in the body. And there's a few different peptides that I have found like a lot of value, one being BPC157. So this guy here. Yeah. And that stands for body protective compound. And it's actually found naturally in your gut. And that's another thing to Note, that there's 7,000 naturally produced peptides in your body, which is amazing. And something we just did with Cambo actually just up regulates our natural peptides, which I found super fascinating as well. And BPC157, when you take additional peptides, it helps with gut recovery. The main thing is it reduces inflammation in the body. And for anyone in the world, I can't think of someone who wouldn't benefit from reducing inflammation in their body. And then it really helped my gut health which helped with my energy levels. It has neuroprotective properties in my mind. Like BPC157 is one of the most valuable, if not the most valuable supplement I've seen on the earth. And I've been playing around with supplements for over 15 years.
Wow. Wow. Huge, huge. And you know, for us being health and wellness being one of these key priorities or pillars in our life, we're always looking for leading edge stuff. And I know you are and that's why I really resonate with you, bro. We're always looking how can we play with the next thing to support us and being even better in how we show up. And being in Miami together was interesting because we got to go to some of these state of the art wellness facilities and see machines and devices that we'd never seen before. And. And it just makes you wonder what becomes possible when you have access to all of the right tools, the right information, the right supplements to really turn the body into something that works so harmoniously. And I feel like a lot of these tools and devices are almost helping us get out of our own way so the body can do its own natural thing. That's the thing that I learned through the years that I was working in wellness clinics in Toronto is the body has the ability to heal itself. Just we get in the way with some of our fear based thinking and habits and behaviors that aren't in alignment with our natural state. So how does peptides work with the natural state? Because that's probably maybe a concern that some people have around peptides. Is there long term efficacy of taking a supplement or injectable? Because that's what majority of them are. The ones we stock with peak human are capsule forms which I feel is much more approachable for people who are new. But what's your take on that and how does that peptides I guess differ from prescription or pharmaceutical drug that is less in a natural state.
I think the main thing being we have 7,000 naturally produced peptides in our body and we're just adding additional natural peptides to the body. And what happens when we age is the cells in our body, the peptides signal cells become less efficient. So when we take additional BPC or another kind of peptide, it's improving efficiency of that cell that's just doing what it's already supposed to do compared to a pharmaceutical drug. I think of something like Adderall, Xanax, something like that. Our body has no idea what that is, it can't recognize it. And that's why many pharmaceuticals, I've seen a lot of negative side effects, very addicting as well. And fortunately, all the things we've seen in terms of studies, and there's going to be a lot more in regards to the studies. And people always ask me, like, why isn't there more human trials or studies on peptides? And it's unfortunate, but from the pharmaceutical realm, they can't patent anything that's naturally produced in the body, so they haven't figured out a way to make money from it. So they have actually gone to the FDA, where they fund 50% of the FDA's funding. And then the FDA has banned some peptides because they say they're not safe, but it's just completely false. The safety profile of these things is off the charts. And, yeah, it's gonna be really exciting, especially with RFK coming in and shaking some things up. I think in the next three to five years, like, you will see the pharmaceutical market or the current pharmaceutical drugs decline significantly. Peptides go up and also psychedelics go up.
Definitely believe that, you know, if it's supporting the natural upregulation of something the body's already doing, and if some of these pathways can support wound healing and muscle repair and gut health and just overall support the body and working more effectively. Dude, it sounds like a huge, you know, like, not a hack, but just a huge upgrade to our system.
Yeah.
And our ability to. To live longer as well. Right.
Amen. And there's. There's peptides out there that help increase length of telomeres, and that's one of the ways that you can measure your biological age. So to think of that like it's going in your body, improving the land.
Yeah. Wild.
It's pretty wild.
Yeah, it's wild.
And what we're going to see in the next three to five years with the use of AI starting to create some of these peptides specifically made for, let's say, your DNA and your blood analysis, and then you're going to be able to get prescribed something like that. It's going to be pretty special.
Yeah, it's an exciting time. The people who are watching or listening from the poll that I did in my Instagram audience last month, about 50% of people still don't even know what peptides are. So they're probably still thinking, where do I even start with this? And how do I know when is the right time to start and which peptide to start with? What would you say to That I.
Would say BPC157 in a capsule form is the bridgeway into peptides. And I say that because BPC157 is naturally found in your gut, what person couldn't benefit from improving your gut health and reducing inflammation? And a capsule form is a lot more digestible for a lot of people rather than a needle. And then a lot of people are gonna say, you know, well, needles are more bioavailable. That's true. But what you can do with a capsule like bpc, you could just take two times as much. So for instance, you know, if you're taking an injectable at 200 mcgs, you could simply just take 400 mcgs of a capsule form and the body's going to be receiving the same amount of bpc. So I think for sure this is a great start.
And what can someone expect to occur when they start taking bpc?
So it definitely, it ranges, but within, I would say I found within three days my gut health just felt better. And what I mean by that is I've had or had reduced inflammation. It just felt like stronger. So even when maybe I would eat something, certain things that weren't, you know, incredible for my body, it just felt stronger and like less, less of that, like inflammation, maybe gut rot. So if you have gut issues like 100%, give that a shot. And then also from a recovery standpoint, people are recovering a lot quicker even from workouts. And then if you have a lingering injury, that's actually where it could be the most beneficial. Where people are tearing like ACLs or MCLs, then they're seeing a three times improvement in their recovery time with peptides, which is huge.
Pretty mind blowing, especially in the fitness realm. Or you're doing high impact activities, the body's getting beat down quite a bit and it's quite normal now when men or women hit their 40s, they've been exercising a lot, then the body starts to show these signs of wear and tear. And that's where the people that I speak to, especially the guys in their 40s, this stuff is turning them back into that young 20 year old and lifting strong and feeling fit and healthy. And to me that's just a phenomenal revolution that we're seeing.
Yeah, people into athletics, high rocks, high intensity training, anything like that would significantly benefit from taking bpc.
And it's weird, I was chatting with a friend who's a professional tennis player and he was saying that these supplements are banned in, you know, they're still not allowing athletes to Take these supplements. I'm like, man, isn't that just such a shame? Like, why not let a natural occurring compound in the body? Why not allow these athletes to utilize this support to see like, hey, how much, you know, how much longer can we get out of our athletes without them breaking down and getting injured all the time?
Yes. You know, I truly believe that professional athletes, they are getting certain kind. So for instance, let's BPC is banned. I believe they're creating very similar structures that isn't necessarily BPC or compound that's attached to it, where they're getting around it. Because I've heard from some good sources that like professional athletes are making use of this and an NHL player actually just got a suspension recently, last week for taking BPC or getting caught taking bpc. So they are taking peptides.
They're just, they're just finding ways to do that. Testing protocol, no doubt about it. Smart doctor who's bending the rules a little bit.
They know what's going on.
They know what's going on. That's so funny, dude. Just the other thing with peptides because when I did my research around it, the quality is important. Where the peptides are being sourced and knowing they have a certain stamp of approval. What should people be aware of when looking to dip their toe in the peptides market? How do you find one of superior quality?
Yeah, so first is certificate of analysis. They should have that on their website and you should be able to click it. And essentially it's showing the purity of the BPC and where it's coming from. The second is it being third party tested. And that's something we're working on at Peakhuman as well right now. And if something's got both of those, you can quite confidently say that it's going to be high quality. And then I would say the reputation of the company goes into it. Right. Like who's behind it? You know, do you know who's behind it? And I think that helps. You know, anything that I would say we're going to attach our names to and push, it's going to be high quality. With a lot of these companies you don't really know who's behind it. So it's a little bit more iffy, I would say. But yeah, those two things. Yeah, that's important.
That's great. Yeah. I'm just eager to see more transformation from people who take this. And also myself, bro, I'm eager to. After Ayahuasca process, we kind of integrated off all supplements and health protocols. And as we slowly come back online with these things, I'm always more sensitive to my body to notice what shifts and changes occur when you start adding certain supplements. Because what I found is spending thousands of dollars on supplements and going, is this actually doing anything? Wasting my money. The supplement companies, they market me well, man.
Oh yeah. We're a marketer's dream. Yeah, exactly.
So the way I see Peptides is if I can get a little bit more output at the gym or my workouts and my training and these supplements can support me in just staying ahead of my recovery game. Because that's probably the area where I struggle with the most, is slowing down and prioritising recovery. Then. What an amazing tool to have available. Yeah.
One other thing to note that just came to mind. My mom started taking BPC and she deals with arthritis as well at night. And she said within a week her arthritis pains have gone away. So if you're out there, maybe you got a mom, pops, grandma, grandpa that have arthritis can be something that's very helpful for them right away.
100%. Yeah. Okay, awesome. Well, mate, I know as we do business together now, there's, there's interesting energetic dynamics at play when growing and scaling a business. And now that you know, I've been running my coaching business for five plus years now, you've run your microdosing company. We're both kind of coming in this at a similar level of our business wisdom. You could say. Yeah, I mean, obviously still a baby when compared to some other founders and guys who've been running businesses for many years. But what do you think is important for someone who is an entrepreneur or maybe an aspiring entrepreneur to start to take on board when it comes to mindset and energetics to be successful in whatever venture they choose to embark on?
I think being very strong with your boundaries and really protecting your energy because there's. I've ran myself into burnout three times, like quite aggressively, where like I was out for like two weeks. I specifically remember sitting in my car outside of a grocery store and like, I couldn't get the energy to just go in a grocery store and get my groceries. And I'm like, okay, like, time to set up proper boundaries. And you just have to say no a lot. Like, I'm not going to sugarcoat it for a lot of people. Like, when you get into entrepreneurship, like, you've got to be ready to give up some things. You know, I gave up a lot of trips, family time, time with friends, nights out. But it's about having that Long term vision and sticking to that and anything that isn't conducive to that long term vision, you just gotta say no.
That's it. That's it. And how about you? Yeah, I mean, I was just reflecting on that how even yesterday I was at the gym and I was training and my body was just exhausted and I was like, my body doesn't want to be training right now. And my old patterning from my dad was you push through that, you push through that, you harden up. You know, you tough to get tough. The tough gets going. And that for me has been the hardest part about entrepreneurship is that battle of this mind that was told that you push, you know, you don't, that's, that's being lazy when you surrender and slow down when you, when your body's telling you no. But for me, that's where the most growth has come from. Because like we said at the start of the podcast, if alignment's the highest priority and if we trust that we're in our highest alignment, our frequency is the highest, then we skip, we quantum jump. We have exponential growth rather than linear growth. And you can do the respect the Goggins and the homoses or the people who operate from that certain dimensional frequency of willing your way through things. And I'm sure they work very smart as well. And work hard, but smart. But I actually believe that there is a place where you can operate from where like we said, maybe it's two hours of highly dialed, abundant creative work will far outweigh eight hours of I'm pushing. Yeah. And that's where for me being at the gym going, you know, my body doesn't want to train today. I'm gonna, I'm gonna stop, I'm gonna go home and lie on the floor and just rest. That's where all the growth has been for me in my entrepreneurial journey. Even though I've made the mistake many times of burning out and going, maybe I just need to like train a bit harder. And I' as you go, as you kind of go up in consciousness too, you just become more sensitive to where, like where you're at in terms of sensitivity and what's needed. At least that's what I found.
Yeah, 100%, I'm with you completely on that. And yeah, no, it's exciting, man. It's exciting to go on this journey. And another thing to note as well, I think this day and age, for both of us, it's about saying no to other opportunities. Because even in just the last month or Two, you know, you've had a lot of opportunities come your way. I've had a few come my way about, like, you know, advisory or partners on other companies. And, like, it's so tempting, you know, because especially if you're not in that abundant mindset, you're like, well, I want to diversify my risk a bit. Right. So you. You want to say yes to these things. You. Okay, if I'm part of five companies, one's got to be successful. But if you stay in that abundance mindset and you're very confident of taking one business and going for it, I know deep down we could be good at three to five businesses, but we're not gonna be great. And it's really important for us right now to just, like, stay. Stay on it, stay focused.
Agreed. And then that takes courage to say no. And then the sensitivity with keeping your energy high is like, then, you know, you know what to say yes to. Yes. And then for me, the challenge now is go all in. Like, go deep, rather than trying to go, you know, wide. Go. Go deep first. Yeah. And I think that's been the difference. Being in our 30s now, I know for you as well, is. Is more of these opportunities are coming. And as I've grown a brand, I'm not seeing, okay, now there's. There's all these different brands that want to collaborate, all these different areas and directions I can go. But the challenge is just staying focused on that one deep hole that we're digging, rather than just digging lots of shallow holes or just dig one deep hole. And I know for us, there's so much learning and growth that comes from trying to just scale one business. Let's get this one operating and working effectively. And then, who knows, down the line, once we've learned all these lessons, we shortcut the process on. On the next one.
You got it.
And for us, too, we also recognize that our strength is in our network. This is something we keep coming back to, which is it's who, not how. Yes. How are we going to figure this out? Or how are we going to get this. Get this to work? It's.
No.
No. Who can we reach out to to help us with this? Who can we reach out to that knows this or has done this already that can help us skip the line? Yes.
Amen. Amen. And I'm super curious as well, to just share with the audience, maybe, you know, where does your passion from health and wellness come from? You know, have you always been like that? Has that came recently? Or what does that look like on your side?
Thanks for asking. Yeah. When I was at Deloitte and I was in the accounting world and I realized that I wasn't passionate about accounting, it began me on a path of trying to find what I was passionate about. And I was always passionate about fitness as the starting point. You know, growing up in Australia, you know, you kind of just, you're at the gym, just, just the natural part of your growth as a young man. And then I was playing semi professional soccer, so fitness was a part of the game. And then I remember reading a book by Dave Asprey, his first bulletproof diet book. And I remember shifting my diet to match what he was recommending in that book. And I remember my energy just went through the roof because I was eating a lot of carbs, a lot of sugar. And then I went to high fat, high protein, and everything changed for me. And my work had all this clarity come online. So I immediately started writing blogs, wanting to share what I was learning about diet and nutrition. And then this health and wellness journey kind of began for me because I realized that spirituality kind of fits into that. I realized emotional development, emotional health was a part of that. And when I left my corporate job and flew to Toronto to pursue this passion I had for this world, the first job that I got was at a wellness clinic in Toronto in Yorkville, that use frequency technology, pulsed electromagnetic field therapy. And at the time, yeah, this is 2017, right. All these other advanced devices that I'd never seen, this multi wave oscillator, the rife machine, all of it was just putting healthy frequency into the body so that it can come back into its natural state and the body could heal itself. So Bob, who's now passed away, was the founder, former lawyer, turned his law practice into a wellness clinic, brought in some of these devices from all around the world to help his wife with some of the cancer treatment she was going through. So I got exposed to all this stuff, man.
I was like, wow, this is.
And at the time, my mind was just blown every single day about what I was learning. And it expanded my understanding of, okay, like, health and wellness. The holistic side of health and wellness was what I felt was missing in so many people. And the more I went deeper, the more I realized that our own emotions, our own energy was the main thing that was impacting our mental health, our physical health. And that so many of us start on the physical level rather than starting on the emotional level. So the minute I figured that out, I was like, oh, dude, as long as you keep your body in the state of coherence. You can stay healthy all the time. So I think there was always a passion there that then turned into the passion for meditation and Dr. Joe Dispenza and really discovering what's actually possible when we can keep our frequency as high as possible. And now we get to, you know, supplementation. Health supplements was always a big part of that. I think that was probably similar to. Similar to you. A lot of our obsession around health usually comes from a fear that's back there. And one of my fears was, I think, stemmed from when I almost died from an appendix that burst inside of me when I was 15. And this subconscious belief that, like, whenever I was sick, I just would think, there's something wrong with me. I was like, I think there's something wrong with me. There's something wrong with me.
So similar.
I was always obsessed with trying to make sure that I was never getting sick and all of these things which caused me to always be looking to try the next biohack, the next thing to get ahead of the game, which probably was coming from this fear that there was something I needed to fix inside of me, which inherently perpetuates the problem. Because if there's a belief there's something that needs to be fixed, there's a belief there's something's broken, which I think a lot of the health and biohacking industry feeds off. So if you. For me, it was about integrating, learning to process that belief and realizing, no, no, no, that's still in 4D consciousness, thinking there's something that I need to change or fix. But when you go up into 5D consciousness, you realize that in this moment, everything is perfect. Whatever's going on inside of me is just perfect the way it is. And I can let go of resisting that and learn to love it. And the. The body recalibrates itself. And then you can use these supplements and actually experience what they can do rather than thinking they're the solution to your problems, at least for me. So, yeah, I don't know. I'm curious to know how your. How you've worked around that. Because I've spent thousands of dollars unnecessarily. Maybe I just needed to stop and look at some of the fear I was running from.
Yeah, no, I'm super similar. I think it comes from, like, a subconscious fear. Fear of, you know, my father got Parkinson's 13 years ago, and I think that for sure has driven me to just, like, obsess over these things. And then once I Just found myself in that depression hole five to six years ago. And then once I saw what microdosing did for me, I'm like, oh, okay. Like, some of these tools can be incredibly valuable. And then started building neurodose out of a float center, float valley. And I just saw people's energy coming in, doing a float tank, doing an EE system, and then having a conversation with them after. And I was like, wow, this is, like, really doing something for these people. And I knew deep down, like, one day I wanted to have, like, a physical space or be a part of physical spaces because of that, number one. And number two, I have met some of my best friends to this day. And, you know, in other ships, sauna, you know, Archie, Fred, you know, Stella, all these people that are just, like, amazing and you. And what I've also learned is when I travel, find the best healing centers, go spend time there, you're going to meet people you vibe with and, you know, eventually become best friends.
Just that on that you say that because that's so true. And I'm realizing that first wellness center that I worked at, I was on admin, so I was minimum wage, was like, I just want to be in this facility. I just want to be here. And deciding to go on admin and making $14 an hour, just being in that space allowed me to meet my first life coach. That then opened me up to Dr. Joe Dispenser's work. I met clients that went there that turned into best friends. And so it's just a second what you said, that my whole trajectory in life actually transformed through being in the right space and being around the right people. So I love that you said that.
Yeah, that's it, man. And, like, I think for a lot of people out there, you know, I'm very fortunate to have best friends such as yourself and people that were very aligned and on these similar paths. And I think a lot of people, unfortunately, don't have that in their life. I would advise, go find spaces and just spend time there and get out of your comfort zone. Go introduce yourself to new people. There are so many amazing people out there. When we went to Miami, I would say the highlight for me was going to Dharma House and just vibing out with people that are on the same frequency, love psychedelics, love health and wellness, and, you know, are out in the yard on a Tuesday morning just getting some sun, you know, and yeah, I think it's just so powerful. Physical spaces and environments.
Yeah. And then back to the kind of network helping the Business growth is when you go to the right spaces, you meet the right people that open up doors of possibilities that weren't there before. If you're hammering away at home on your laptop thinking you didn't have time to go and have a sauna and ice bath and take two hours out of your afternoon, you know, and that network part for us to the quality of people in our life, mate. I always just so grateful for just the caliber of people that we attract. And I just know that success is just inevitable because I measure it by the quality of people that are around me. So we just. Just keep living our best life and, you know, the answers will reveal themselves in their own timeline. I think the challenge sometimes is to remember to just trust that. That wherever we think we're trying to get to, the speed doesn't really matter. Yes. Because if I'm always like, faster now, now, but nothing really fucking changes, dude. I'm looking around at where we're sitting right now, and, like, if this was the max and this. This is where we capped it out, I'd be like, fuck, this is pretty dope.
Pretty good, man.
I'm pretty happy. Like, there's not too much more that I want a swim in the ocean in the morning and, you know, hanging out with your best mate. But that's why remembering that, going, there's nothing in the future that is better than what's available to us right now. Yes. External things will change. And, you know, there's different levels that you can play at on a material level, but on an internal level, we're already there. Yeah.
Oh, man. Amen. I think that's something recently that shifted for me where I don't feel like I'm racing anymore. And it's like, look around. Like, yeah, this is pretty amazing. I get to work on something I'm passionate about with my best mates. I get to learn something that I absolutely love. We get to help other people and we get to now travel around. And not only the ability to travel, but it's actually beneficial for us to travel to these new cities. And I was sitting in center the other day, just in a. Just in a sauna, whatever, doing something with the biohacks. And I was just thinking, I was like, this is a fucking awesome life. We get to go into wellness facilities, get to use the modalities for free, create content around it, and then pitch our products to hopefully help others and their communities. I'm like, I know.
Come on.
And I don't say this to, like, brag or, like, But I say this because, like, there's many people out there who don't like their jobs and they're really, really scared to take that next step. And I think an important thing to realize or to sit with is just being okay with the worst case scenario. And for me, in corporate three years ago, the worst case scenario it was quit my job, start a business, fail, go bankrupt, just go back to the same corporate job. It's really not actually that bad. And you have a skill set of starting your own business, so you could maybe even get a better corporate job. And you don't have to live with this feeling of regret or fear or, you know, you don't want to be three, five years in the future. You've got a family, then you can't take those risks and think to yourself, like, what if? What if I bet on myself and I just encourage anyone who's out there who's struggling with the golden handcuffs.
Just.
Get okay with the worst case scenario and take that jump.
That's good advice, mate. I guess the challenge is that that becomes harder and harder as you get older and have more responsibilities, be it family and kids to take care of. You know, the thought of making a big shift and jumping into the passion becomes even harder. But that doesn't mean you have to take, like, unnecessary risks as well, I think become okay with the worst case scenario. And for me, it was learn to find complete joy and fulfillment and peace right now without anything needing to change. And then, you know, you're ready to take the leap, right? But then, and I did that thankfully early in my 20s, and I didn't have a whole lot to risk, to be honest.
I'm fucking all in.
I've got no plan. I'm just like, I'm going after it. But if, you know, you're later in your life, probably it's not wise to take those kinds of risks. Then start to nurture the passions outside of work so that you at least know you're moving towards something that's more in alignment with your highest contribution. And I was just saying that to the other day to a client of mine who's in kind of the private equity world, and he knows he's destined for something bigger. And I was like, well, let's make sure that you're working towards that outside of work, rather than just doing the socializing and going out for drinks and this and that with friends and not watering the seeds of potential. That, to me, is the place to start. Because for me, the place to start is start Sharing, start creating around the things you're passionate about. Yeah. It's not putting something out into the world. You know, there's still so much opportunity on social media and these platforms to become someone who gets really good at creating something unique because AI is still not going to be able to create better than a human being that's passionate about something. Not at the moment yet. So. And we are also very bullish on in person events. Absolutely. So create about your passions and then bring people together. And I can guarantee like that that community that you build will become immensely valuable. Building community, bringing people in person gatherings is the future, is what we all want, is what everyone's going to start yearning more and more of. Be a leader for that. Yeah.
Amen. And I think once Covid happened, it really opened up people's eyes to like, oh, we need this in person and stuff. We crave this and we go a bit crazy without it, quite frankly. And exactly what you said with AI going like this and a lot of, I would say a lot of jobs will be replaced by AI, but nothing is going to compare to an in person event with your friends, you know, doing things you love and yeah, super excited to get back to Toronto go to Seoul expansion. Actually this coming Monday. That's a very special, special, special event each month.
Yeah. And when we could be. We could have some in person events coming up this summer in Ontario as well. What. Why don't you tell the, tell the guys what we're thinking.
Yeah. So we're gonna plan a couple, a couple different retreats up at my cottage on Georgian Bay. Got a little island there, little cabin. It's my, it's my favorite place on earth. And we really want it to be like a mastermind setting where we're bringing in different practitioners to share their skills. Whether or not that's breathwork, sound healing, massage and also, you know, I would love to speak on Peptides psychedelics. You know, we can share basically just our different, our different skill sets with these different people and then also just have fun. I think that's such an important aspect to these things that sometimes some events maybe forget, like you gotta have some fun. And then we are gonna plan a bigger event in Toronto by Peakhuman and we really want to have just some of the best of the best up there speaking and also integrative with breathwork and then have some different wholesalers that have amazing supplements or amazing different offerings. Maybe IB's there and just make health and wellness event. I think each year it's going to be super powerful. And I really look forward to putting it to the test.
Likewise, Brian. Something magical happens and you bring the right people together. And that that island you have in Georgian Bay is one of my favorite places in the world too, so. And if you're listening to that, to this and you're going, fuck, you know, I wouldn't be mind being out there with the boys, you know, just having some quality time and up leveling my life, just ping me on Instagram, send me a dm, Jordan Keller show one and all. We'll let you know when that's launching and happening. But mate, this has been a really powerful, just a special way actually to round out, you know, this chapter that we've shared together in Portugal and Ayahuasca and we had time in Miami. You know, you're flying back to Toronto on Sunday. I'm heading off to Colombia next week. And you know, our parts will be realigning in Austin. But I feel second to what you said, which is the, you know, doing great things with your mates. This has been the theme of our this year for us, which was we need to be around each other. We recognized that that was one of the keys. Physical, physically, be close to your mates. And our friend Danny and some of the other boys and Josh were with in Miami, we realized that's the formula to rapid growth and success in life is be in proximity, learn through osmosis, you know.
Yeah, man. And like, you know, being around you, Danny, Josh, and just like pushing me in different ways and these small little learnings, you know, like even just like the small silly ones like you carrying around one of these and I'm like, I will continue to do that. And then Danny just eating like skin on a bunch of like sweet potatoes. Ginger. I sent him a video yesterday. And just like these little learnings that like actually like making my life better. And it's been really fascinating to just peek into other people's processes and different morning routines and just taking little, little notes and yeah, it's been great.
Yeah. And the time in Miami with the boys that we had, Josh, who runs a crypto fund, and Danny, who's also a coach and doing big things and learning from Josh, who was in the crypto space and was launching a coin at the time, Billy bets. And the amount that I learned through about crypto from just being around him and you know, seeing the launch of an AI generated betting agent, which was so fascinating to me and being a part of that was, was just so cool that, you know, I wouldn't have got that experience if I hadn't put myself in that environment. For those interested.
Really do a billion.
We heard it here first. Anything to back the boys in, you know, and like, and that's why it was just so great to see how we all supported each other and having friends who backed each other in, put.
Money behind each other and like, that's always been one of my dreams is like having little pieces of all my boys, you know, businesses. And then to build on top of that, owning homes together around the world in places that we love. And yeah, I've always envisioned that and I feel like we're taking steps in the right direction for something like that. And I just like, yeah, really look forward to this just coming to be. And it's coming.
I agree. It's coming. Without a doubt. Without a doubt. So, yeah, for us with Peak Human, you know, our big focus of this next little bit is, is kind of getting the word out, you know, collaborating with the right people and putting ourselves at the right events. Us attending events, also running events. You know, we're coming to the Health and Wellness Summit in Austin in April. A few other events we'll be attending in the summer in Toronto. And we just realized after attending the biohacking event in Miami, that shit, we need to just get ourselves out there.
Because they're so fun and they're very obviously. But yeah, they're great. It's just like, it's so nice to just meet people who are just as passionate in the health and wellness scene and providing different products and modalities just with love and trying to help people.
That's it. Big time. And for the people who are listening, who want to learn more about Peakhuman and what we're up to there, where can they go?
Yeah, so Peakhuman Labs on Instagram is a great place to start. You could say subscribe as well to our email newsletter. And yeah, we're going to be. We're going to be launching some pretty cool things. We're doing a rebrand right now, which I'm super excited about. And we're working on a specific athletic recovery proprietary blend, which, yeah, it's going to be great. Really, really great. And then also we're working on a different delivery method that's a bit more bioavailable that you stick underneath your tongue. So a couple exciting things. And then also on our personal pages, I think we're gonna start posting a lot more about Peptides. So I'm just at Liam Donovan and Jordan Kamlish.
Yeah, thanks, guys. And stay tuned. If you want to learn more about the Peptides as well and kind of be on the leading edge with us in this journey, then check out Peak Human and all of the things that are going to be coming up really soon. It's going to be super exciting. All right, bro. Love you.
All right, brother.
Love you, too. Until next time.
Yes, sir.
