Interview with Joy and Linda of AlphaOmega

In this conversational interview, Joy Brown recounts her transformative journey from a back injury and job loss in Portland, Oregon, to becoming a digital nomad teaching English online across Mexico, Costa Rica, and Bogotá, Colombia. She describes the practical challenges of travel, budgeting, and teaching, as well as the emotional upheavals of the COVID‑19 pandemic and the Chinese government’s ban on foreign teachers. Joy explains how a deep spiritual awakening—spurred by inner‑child work, meditation, chakra activation, and Merkaba experiences—led her to heal childhood sexual trauma and connect with higher‑self and angelic entities. These insights inspired her to create a spiritual business, “Astronaut of Life,” offering soul readings, guided meditations, and a community on Discord, Instagram, YouTube, and Insight Timer. The interview also covers her creative pursuits (sci‑fi writing, screenplay development) and her philosophy of integrating intuition, ego, and faith into a purposeful, healing‑focused life. The closing segment features mutual appreciation between Joy and host Linda, signaling ongoing collaboration and future content.

Hello Joy!
Hello!
Hi, how do you feel?
I feel good, I'm excited, this is fun.
It's a lot of fun. Yes, I see that you have mountains in the background. Where are you?
I am in Bogotá, Colombia. So I'm from the United States, I moved I left Oregon, Portland, Oregon, to come to South America. So this is where I ended up.
How long has it been? When since did you leave Oregon?
I left on December 31st, 2019, or actually my flight got delayed, so I actually left on January 1st, um, of 2020.
Wow, it's a very significant date for me too. It's very interesting that you're saying because that's exactly when I came to Canada. Oh wow, I came to Canada exactly on the verge of 31st of December, 1st of January. I was in the airplane crossing these timelines or time— what is it— zones, time zones, um, 2009-2010. So for you it was 2019?
Yeah, 2019, 2020.
Yes. So it's been about 2 years. It's going to be 2 years completed in November.
It's kind of hard to believe I've been outside of the United States for 2 years. Like, but then it's like, well, yeah, I have been now.
So you're doing it. So can you tell me, how did you actually end up in Colombia and what happened to you there?
Yeah, it's a beautiful story. So we'll have to go back to 2019. That's when I felt like my real spiritual awakening happened, where I was just finally open up to everything. And I was at this point— it happened in May— where I, um, was recovering from a back surgery and learning to walk again, basically.
Really?
Not again, but like without falling.
Did you have an injury or an accident?
I had an injury. I had ruptured a disc in my spine and it was squishing my sciatic nerve, or I forget the name, but you know, the one that goes down your leg. It starts with an S. I think it's sciatic nerve. Yes, sciatic nerve.
Thank you.
Yes. And then it was— excruciating. It's excruciating. And none of the treatments were working, so I had to get surgery. I had a 50% chance the surgery would work, and thankfully it did. So, um, but right after that surgery, when I was healing, um, I lost my job and I broke up with my boyfriend, and it was one of those like What do I want to do, right? And the idea of getting another apartment, getting another job, and just staying in this American cycle was not appealing to me. So, and I was still recovering from my sciatic nerve injury and my back.
So what kind of jobs you had before, before this surgery?
Oh, good question. I worked at Target and I also worked at— I worked for a small family-owned business. I was their content manager for a tiny boutique social media company. So I had to quit the Target because of my back and then the social media company just kind of dissolved. So that was gone too. I asked some friends like about online jobs, and I had a friend tell me, tell me about teaching English online, and you just need your computer. And so I started doing that because I didn't feel ready to like go into a business where I could stand and walk all day. I wasn't ready for that. And as I was learning about teaching English online, I stumbled upon digital nomadism and like I found teachers who were traveling the world doing whatever.
That's what it is, the online nomadism?
Yeah, yeah.
Specifically like a platform or it's a term or what is it?
It's a term.
It's a term for teachers, for people who want to teach English all around the world. I see, okay.
Well, it's not just English, you can Basically, if you just have a job that you can do on a computer and you don't need an office, like, you can travel and do it. And right, I was an online teacher, which I could do from anywhere that has internet, right?
So you had to take the teacher's training.
I had to get a TEFL, um, and they required a college degree, which I already had, so it worked out really well. And the TEFL wasn't too hard to obtain. Um, and I got a job at that time teaching online to kids in China, which was really cool.
Um, so you were still in the States and you started teaching online kids in China.
Okay. And then I started playing around with this idea of just traveling. And as I opened myself up to it, I felt very drawn to South America. It felt like a magnet pulling me telling me to go to South America. And I was like, but like, Europe would be probably more than South America, or Asia's cheaper. And I'm already teaching Chinese kids, so like, I'll be more on their time zone. No, it was South America.
And so I was like, okay, was there like a particular vision or emotion that was pulling you more towards the South America than Europe?
I'm not sure how to explain it. It felt like a magnetic pool and like I needed to just go to it.
So it wasn't like a dream or anything? You just had that pull?
Yeah, I just had that pull, like, or intuition feeling like you need to be in South America. What you're looking for is in South America. Oh, like, but I fought it. I won't lie, I fought it because I was like, but like Yeah, Europe would be so much cooler, right? Like, I never really thought about going to South America, maybe Peru, but that was it. So I had to work on that. And as I was planning this, my family was not super supportive. Obviously my parents were scared about me leaving the country and like just doing whatever, right? But I was super excited and I started planning and saving and just kind of figuring out how to do it. And I gave myself basically—
how did you do that? Did you find an agency you went through? No, you just went, bought a ticket?
Yeah, literally, that's what I did. I got a new computer, I re— I watched videos on how to pack, to condense everything, and I just slowly kind of filled in the blanks. Like, well, how much money do I need? How much should I budget for travel and everything? And I tried my best to watch other teachers because we would have the same like income level, right? Um, right.
So you had to understand that you're gonna get paid in the money of the, uh, the, uh, the currency of that country wherever you are gonna go.
Well, at this point I was just getting paid in dollars, so, but I ended up That's later in the story, yeah, where I get paid in pesos. But, um, yeah, so thankfully my ex was a kind person and we just became roommates, so I didn't have to worry about moving or, you know, adjusting my American life while I prepared for this travel. So I spent, I want to say, like 9 months preparing. And while I was doing this, it was also I was also doing spiritual work and finally like healing and opening my heart space up. I started watching tarot readings for the first time and, and figuring out how to use my intuition. I was meditating regularly. It was a beautiful, beautiful time for me, and it was a growth. Yeah, it's totally a growth and preparing me because it was exciting but also a little nervous to just go out on my own and see everything, right?
Sure. And I have a very good world for a little girl, right?
Yes. And everybody was like, but you're a woman, you're alone, you're gonna get raped, you're gonna get stolen, something will happen to you, it's just gonna happen. And I was like, I, I appreciate your concern, and I, I totally get that, you know, I am a woman and I'm alone and doing this, but I, I know I need to do it. And I just didn't have that fear in me.
I mean, not that I'm not cautious, but like, that's the healthy way of protecting yourself. Absolutely. You have to be vigilant. But you had basically your goal. That's all you had to— you had to attend to it. Yeah.
So, yeah, on January 1st, I flew from Texas to Mexico City, and I spent basically all of January in Mexico City, and that was an amazing time. I'm so thankful for that month because it kind of eased me into living outside of my country. I was around a lot of other travelers. I probably only met a few Mexicans, actually. I met people from Britain and Ireland and Germany.
Was it like a hub of, you know, teachers that wanted to pursue teaching job in this Spanish-speaking country?
Well, they were just other nomads. So I think I met one girl from Australia who was an English teacher as well, but they all had different jobs.
And it was like a place— how did you find that? Was it hotel, hostel, or was it community or?
It is two ways. So one was Facebook groups. I would join like expats of Mexico City or digital nomads or something like that. And I know I was in a specific Mexico City one and I needed a place to teach because where I— my Airbnb, the walls were too thin and I had— because I was teaching Chinese kids, I woke up very early in the morning. So I found a guy in one of those expat groups who had a— oh, you know what I'm talking about, like those work— workplaces for people with computers, right?
Kind of like when you go to library to working space or study space. That was what he was offering.
Yeah, he made a key for me. I paid him, and I was able to go there early in the morning when no one else was there. And teach and be as loud as I needed to be for my students. And he also had a language school. So I had Spanish in college and high school, but I hated it. I won't lie. And I did not really care to learn.
I don't wonder the way they teach it, for sure. I don't wonder that you didn't have the connection, really. Yeah.
Yeah. But I went to his Spanish class and that's how I met a lot of other expats. I also found a meditation group led by a German guy who— we would go to this large park in Mexico City and sit in a circle and just meditate together. And it was so nice, it was beautiful.
And I was like, this is exactly what I needed, like, to kind of ease into the right people that are your, your kind of, uh, vibe, I guess. So yes. It wasn't misleading you, but it was leading you to the right moments where you could build up on your growth, right?
Totally. Yeah. And I felt supported. I mean, I wasn't super far away from America at that point, but Mexico City is a very, very, very large city, very beautiful city.
I think it's one of the most populated cities in the world.
That's like 26 million or something super high like that. It seems to go forever, like you just— it never ends. Get in a plane and leave.
Wow.
Um, no, it was a beautiful experience. And then I went to Costa Rica, which I was only there for—
what moved you there?
Because you had to go, or I was at that point, my goal was to make my way down Central America and then just make my way down South America, go to Costa Rica.
How long did you stay in Costa Rica?
2 or 3 weeks.
Oh, okay. So it was really short.
It was really short.
Okay.
And it was a much different experience than Mexico City. Mexico City was like dream life. Everything was perfect. Practically, I only had a few hiccups. I had so many hiccups in Costa Rica. I, I could not figure out the money because like I said, my Spanish is horrible and they would— your pesos would be like 50 million. Well, a million means thousand in Spanish, but I didn't know that. So I thought, oh wow, I have 50 million pesos. And then I would go out to eat and like my money would just disappear and I couldn't figure it out. That came later, but I lost my debit card there. Oh no. Yeah, and I was like, okay, I'll just have my bank, you know, mail me a new one. And I call my Airbnb host and she's like, oh well. I was like, what's the address for our you know, where I'm staying. She's like, we don't have addresses in Costa Rica, and the mailman just kind of finds you and flags you down and hands you your thing. And I was like, I was like, wait, what? Oh, do I have addresses? How am I— what am I supposed to do? So I don't even know what all I did. I did more research, and I finally was able to just mail my card to the post office Um, and you picked it up? Well, that was the plan. When it got there, it came via FedEx, and they were like, well, we can't deliver your package, your card, to the post office. You need to come to the FedEx office, which once again, there are no addresses. So it was very, very hard to locate this FedEx office. I went in a taxi to where I thought it was, and it was all residential. And when I asked the people walking around, like, do you know where FedEx is? They were like, what is FedEx? So I was like, oh my gosh, it was so hot. And like, I was literally used the last of my money to put on the taxi to get to my debit card so then I could like buy things, right?
So It was easier for you to find a husband than to find your credit card, right? I get it.
It took, it took like another hour of crying and problem solving, and I finally got to where my card was and I got it, and like, it was all fine.
But no, so then you left Costa Rica.
Yeah.
Was there anything more significant that happened to you?
Well, my bookings with the Chinese students were starting to dwindle at this point because of COVID and COVID was, um, you know how it happened in China first. So I was like, oh no, like, this isn't good. I was making X amount in America and now I'm making like half of that. So I think I need to enact like Plan B, which is just getting a teaching job in a school. So while I was in Costa Rica, I applied to a few teaching jobs to Costa Rica and Colombia because I was going to Colombia next, here in Bogotá. And literally, it was a Saturday, okay, this is a Saturday, or maybe a Friday, I can't remember. And I was leaving on Sunday, and a few hours after I applied, I got a phone call from a guy was looking for an English teacher in a school here in Bogotá. And we did like the phone interview and he was like, well, I think you're perfect. You're going to Bogotá in a few days. So on Monday, when after you arrive at 7 o'clock in the morning, please go to the school for your second interview. I'm not even in Colombia yet and here I am. I got this job interview. So I go to Colombia, um, and I arrived at like 10 o'clock at night, and I go to my little Airbnb, and I try— I get up at like 6 or 5. I did not anticipate the traffic here in Bogotá. I probably arrived at that interview at like 8:30 or 9. It was insane. To try to get a taxi, and I was really far away, but they still hired me. And they were like, can you start tomorrow? And I was like, no, I can't. I, I don't have any professional clothing. I was not actually planning on, you know, staying in one place or doing this. So like, I need to like just take a breather and like go to a mall and get clothes and Spit it down there.
Yeah, you were just a newcomer.
Wow. Yes.
Okay, so they needed you urgently.
Yeah, yeah, they did. And that was also a different experience because my very first day, at first they were like, oh, let's show you around the school. Go, you know, it felt more like orientation where you go on a tour. They got me some coffee. And then they're like, well, it's like 11 o'clock your time. It's time for you to teach the third grade. So this is that classroom and somebody will tell you what to do next when it's over. So goodbye. And then I was like, wait a minute. I don't have a book. I don't have a lesson. I don't have anything. And I only had a translator or a bilingual person with me because I don't speak Spanish. From 2nd grade down, I taught kindergarten through 5th grade was the job.
So, and your job was basically to teach English?
I was called the speaking teacher. So they had other teachers that taught English. I was mainly there for pronunciation and keeping them—
yeah, right.
So that was— I really, it felt like someone just pushed me into the water, um, and I didn't know because I literally had to go in that room with those 3rd graders and make up a lesson on the spot. It was insane, and I was— my stress was just—
I can imagine.
In my mind, it would be like an American school with all the supplies, and I was in a very rich school too. Okay, like very private school, but it was a totally different way, a system they had than what I've seen in America. So it was a big adjustment.
Yeah, a big adjustment. So then how did this new life lead to your spiritual ascension that led to your new business?
Well, it— the teaching, and then the lockdowns and stuff, when that happened, I kind of— I took a step away because I was just so overwhelmed to be I was in a small studio apartment by myself in a country where I don't speak the language, doing a job that I, I felt very overwhelmed doing. And it was just, um, it was hard, to be honest. So it took— I went— I had like a whole month of like freaking out. Um, at that point I had met my now husband, so But because of the lockdowns, we didn't really see each other in person. It was all like—
And you were saying freaking out. So it was like you're trying to say that you were trying to figure out yourself in the next few moments, right?
Well, I mean, I was in this situation, right? I had a job. I couldn't just—
You had to do something, yeah.
I couldn't just leave. I was stuck here. And I wanted to do a good job, but it was— It was hard at that time. I really struggled. It took me a while to kind of get into a new routine, and I had never really lived alone either, so I had all these—
it was all emotional.
Yeah, very emotional. All these layers of stress and emotions, out of the country, being alone, lockdown, new job. Yeah, it was a lot. So I didn't meditate like I normally did. I I— all the work I was doing in those first few months in, in Mexico and Costa Rica, I just kind of pushed it aside for a little bit. And it wasn't until my husband and I got the apartment we're in now and I had more space and we were starting a new life, you know, living together and everything— this is at the end of 2020— and I felt like, okay, I need to bring that spiritual stuff back. That's the whole reason I left the country, was to just teach and focus on my own spiritual healing. And all I've been doing is teaching, and I, I've left this alone. So I brought that back in, and that's when the magic started to happen, really, for me.
Yeah, beautiful. Yes, let's go to that. Um, What was the magic? What happened to you? Well, I— I should say what happened for you.
Yeah, yeah. I decided not to teach at this school again in 2021, um, just because of the stress level it was at that time. I was comfortable teaching, but I was like, if I want to spend more time on my spiritual self this teaching gig is not going to do it because all my time and energy goes to lesson planning and grading and, and actually teaching, right? So I was like, I'm— I can live off of my teaching the Chinese students. So I just did that, and I took that kind of step of faith that I could make enough money just teaching in the mornings and using the rest of my day for myself and it worked. It was the right decision. And I began writing again, meditating again. Um, it was beautiful.
And then what kind of writing is it that you are going— I mean, that you're doing, that you went back to?
Yeah, yeah, that's fiction writing. I'm a huge sci-fi fan, um, and I love everything sci-fi, every subgenre of it. And I get story ideas a lot, but writing them down, that takes a lot of time, and planning them. Yeah, but I found an online group of other writers that would write at the same time on their, you know, individual projects, and it was perfect. For 2 hours every morning, I would write with this group, and then we would talk, and just to talk to other writers and get in that kind of good vibe. It was beautiful. Yeah.
Okay. So it was kind of like a group, intentional group that would, I guess, help one another, inspire one another, share.
Yeah.
Kept each other accountable for that time of 2 hours writing.
Yeah. Yeah. And it was a Discord group and we would get on Zoom calls like this. Chat for like 10 minutes, and then you would just turn your camera off and write for like 40 minutes. Then we would check in. It still goes on. I'm still doing it now. But, um, yeah, it was, it was perfect for me at that time because I needed to heal that and bring that back into my life. And that creativity that was going to my students before, I could now use in my stories and kind of let that part of myself out, you know. Yeah, and then the big shift, most recent shift happened around, I want to say August, September. The Chinese government announced that, um, no more foreign teachers. And at first they said any student who has bought a class with a foreign teacher they'll honor it and you can teach those, and then when they're gone, they're gone. So I knew the job was ending, right? I knew there was a— they gave it a year at that point. They told us 6 months to a year, you might be left teaching, and then it's over. But it's also the Chinese government, so I didn't really trust. They made a lot of rules over the years of my teaching and Chinese students, so I was like, okay, this could change at any moment. Which it did. But I was— so I, I was— to me it felt like a crossroads. Do I want to go teach students somewhere else? Do I want to start my own teaching business? Or do I want to take a completely different path? And I chose the completely different path. And I didn't really know what that looked like. I knew it had something to do with spirituality, so I was just— I just kind of took a step of faith and I made my own end date of like October 22nd. It was like, I was going on vacation after that, like my honeymoon actually. But, and I was like, you know what, October 22nd, I'm done teaching the Chinese students, and that's my end date whether it continues or not. Turns out the Chinese government did change the rules, and November 4th was the last day ever foreign teachers. So my timing was Right, it's spot on, right? Yeah, it would have been ended anyway. So I was able to use that time to kind of go inward for my transition and figure out— I'm stepping on faith. I know I want to start a spiritual business. What the hell is it supposed to be about and look like? I had no idea. So I knew I needed to go inward. I started doing, um, healing and just really letting myself go deep. And what came of it was, as I went in these meditations, I began to have, like, psychedelic experiences, even though I wasn't taking anything. And I was like, wow, this is amazing. This is like what I've always wanted, to have experiences while meditating. And just bit by bit, I was shown new things and like nudged to try new things. And, and it just kind of came to me to do readings and guided meditations for people. But it— I wouldn't have gotten to that clarity if I hadn't done the inner work first and really literally pulled it out of myself. Good.
So Let's go into what was it for you that you had to heal? What was the inner work that you were talking about? Oh, good one. Because it has to— not it has to, it has to be done. But I mean, for everybody, for everybody, it's something different. Is it intuitively that we feel what we have to heal, what we have, what kind of inner work we have to do? Or is it usually the same thing for everyone? I'm not sure. What do you—
what do you think? I think it's both. We all obviously have things to heal, right? But what those things are, are going to be different. For me, um, I, I met a woman in that Full-Time Purpose group who was starting a program to help people heal, and I was like, sign me up! I know I need to do it. And I went through her program, and it really helped me identify where in my life I needed to heal the most. And for me, that was my inner child at that time. So I, um, meditated a lot with my inner child, and I saw some trauma that I had as a very young little tyke that obviously was traumatic that I needed to heal. And it was beautiful. I obviously cried and Um, but I was able to heal that part of myself, and that for me was the beginning of this healing journey. And once I did—
sorry, why, why inner child is important?
Oh, I think our inner child is so important because, um, they're so innocent, right? And when we go through things in our childhood that when we look at now, we might understand what it was or what was happening. But if you're a little child, you don't have that perspective, right? So you— it's traumatic, it's scary. Your parent might just say one flippant thing and you hold it in forever, right? And as an adult, for me, it manifests in, in different ways. And I don't know, it just— for me, I, I, I knew about that pain, but I wasn't able— like, in 2019, I tried to address it, but it was too painful. I wasn't ready to heal it. But now, with my growth and the practice, I was ready to confront it and feel those emotions and bring that healing.
That's really, really good thing that you're saying. So for anyone who is watching, they can understand that They may be prompted to heal some side of them, but they may not be ready, and that's okay. There is going to be time when they are more ready to approach themselves from the truth and the, the, the only truth perspective, and they're ready to face it. Yeah, because we can have distorted views of what I have to heal, why I have to heal it, and how. And we try and it is not completely healed. We still have the residue. And then once we're ready to face the entire truth, that's when the breakthroughs happen. Exactly. So beautiful. Can you give us an example of maybe there were more things, but maybe one that is coming up for you as the most protruding one that you healed? Aspect of your inner child?
Well, that one was the main thing I healed, and that was a molestation. I was molested as a little kid, and I, I don't remember it, but I know it happened because the person who did it— I've always just had this— I didn't want anything to do with them. And it was like in your early years where you Yeah, I was in my early years. I don't think I was more than 3 or 4, at most 5 years old.
Was it somebody from your family?
Mm-hmm. Yeah.
And so you held that all these years inside of you. How did it— how was it manifesting in your adult life?
Hmm. Anger.
Anger.
Yeah.
For what specific thing?
I never figured it out. Like, I would get angry easily, and I could never pinpoint why I had this anger in me. And when I did that inner work, and I did a guided meditation on to bring, you know, the visualization of your inner child, and I basically watched her, myself, be molested, and then I just scooped her up and, you know, held her and just—
I see. So it was exactly, you went back to that point when you were being molested, to that moment, and you see yours— you saw yourself exactly in that same situation.
Yeah, I see. And I, I scooped up little Joy and I, you know, was crying, but I was just like, look, this doesn't define you. This is, you know, this person who did this is hurting and they don't have to hurt you anymore. And I love you. You are loved. You are safe. And this is not going to happen to you again, okay? So, and then I kind of took her from that memory and we went back to like a happy place in my childhood, which during that meditation was, I want to say, like a Sunday school room where I would play a lot as a kid. And, um, like the church nursery. And we went back there where she could be happy. And yeah, it was just a beautiful experience. I had to face that darkness, right, and, and see it for what it was. But scooping that little Joy up and telling her all the things I wish someone would have told me at that time, you know, if anybody knew about it Did anybody know about it? I, I remember as a child trying to tell my mom. I, I don't know what I exactly said, but as an adult, I asked her about it once and she's like, yeah, you did tell me. You were trying to tell me something happened, but you were with all your cousins and, you know, like You weren't alone with him, so we didn't really think anything of it.
So it was, um, an experience that you clearly remembered that happened to you when you were that young, and at some point you were not able to heal that.
Yeah.
Why? Why do you think so?
I think because it scared me. Um, it's scary.
It was scary because it can really help other people to understand when they can't face something they cannot overcome, they're not to feel. It's not pleasant for sure.
Yeah, no, definitely not.
Why can it be scary to face it?
Well, it's because it's traumatic, and when you face it, it's almost like PTSD. You go back to that.
You don't want to re-experience it.
That's what it is.
Yes.
Yeah, because it's like, this really hurt, not just my body maybe, but like my heart, right? Like I— it was an adult obviously who did this, so it confused me as a child why they were doing this, why me, you know, all these little questions were coming up. And it— to face it again, you know, I had to basically relive it.
And that's not something you want to do.
It's not something you want to do. And that's why I couldn't do it in 2019. I was just I knew I needed to do it, but it just felt too big.
And I think with everything else going on, right, you couldn't focus on that particular aspect of yourself because you had to, you know, maybe stabilize yourself financially and mentally, emotionally to maybe your job, new country, other people, and so on. So you were attuned to everything else outside of you. And then once you concentrate on all that attention you give to yourself. Breathe in and breathe out. And it's like, okay, now I'm going to, I'm going to do that.
Well, yeah, to me it was a mindset. Like, I know I need to do this work. And like I said, I did my friend's course.
Yes. And that's very helpful. So thank God for people that are doing these courses. Absolutely. Did you find it in Colombia? Was it American course?
She's American. Yeah. I don't know if she's launched it yet. I think it's coming out soon. I was like a test subject, basically.
Beta tester or something like that, they call it.
Yeah.
Beautiful. I'm very happy for you because that's a huge one. Yeah. No matter what the trauma is, But this one is especially— yes, I don't know how to call it. There's probably no word. It's just very sad.
Yeah, it is sad. And then as an adult, it was hard to experience too because it's like you're sad for that little girl, right, that had to go through that, even though it was me. It was like, you wouldn't wish that on any child, let alone yourself. Um, so it— but I only have— the other part of it was to forgive the person and to just kind of release this anger, and I'll basically say hate, that I had towards them, um, because they're still alive and not really in my life, but they're, they're around, right? That's why I'm not using names or anything. Um, but I, I had to face that part of it too and release that anger. And for, you know, because it— the injustice of it.
And yes, that's a beautiful word that you're using. A lot of that is being done to us it's for us, but it's hard to admit that it's for us. How can this be for me when it's so, so much injustice in this act of somebody else, I don't know, acting a certain way towards us, right? Yeah. So that's hard. And that's what the problem is with a lot of people probably letting go, acknowledging, forgiving, and moving on. And just the whole mindset is challenging us for sure. Yeah, well, congratulations, you, you completed your, your, um, you did the completion process. That's what they call it, completion process, when you go inward and then you exactly embrace the inner child, you give the inner child what it needed at that point, and then you can Go on. So you did. And from that point, when you finished the course, it helped you. You started doing the meditations and things, the visions or messages started coming to you.
Yeah. Yeah, it was, it basically was a nice kickstarter to everything for me. And I'm— I knew I needed to go down this path. I didn't know where it would lead. I literally felt like taking a step of faith, and, you know, it literally felt that way. But I was like excited to do it, and I just had this peace about it. So that confirmed for me this peace that did not come from 3D Joy, who would be freaking out about money and, I need a job, I need a job, right?
So did you feel like you have some guidance? Um, how would I call them? I don't know. Um, some entities outside of this world that were guiding you, that were—
I feel it was my guides and God yourself all working together. Thankfully, I'm fairly open to new roads, new opportunities, so when the teaching job, when I saw that it was ending, I knew it wasn't going to last forever. Right.
So you were basically open to start something new. And after this course, you did this meditation where you connected to your higher self. Can you talk about that?
Oh, yeah. Well, I did my own version now. In 2019, I did someone else's guided meditation and met my higher self. And I've basically been chasing that. Sorry, my cat's trying to jump on my lap.
And that's okay. So I want to also know what was the connection or what was the transition from you heal the inner child and then you were looking to connect to your higher self, or did it just appeared in your life as an option to do this guided meditation, or you were seeking it out, or how did that happen?
Well, after I did the inner child healing, I felt really strongly that I needed to create a spiritual practice where I dedicated— for me it was the morning time, which got frustrating teaching like the Chinese students. And because I was like, I just want to meditate, I just want to do mantras, I just want to do this, I don't want to teach this early, I want to wake up and do those things, not English.
Funny, I have the same feeling.
Yeah, it's the—
you kicked your day that way and you couldn't because you had to be online teaching or doing something else. Yeah, and it's annoying.
Yeah, but I made it work and I took the time to do it, and I was like, you know what, if we have a later breakfast, then we have a later breakfast because because I feel like I need to do mantras in the morning, and I would just do them, and I would let myself literally be guided to what I needed to do. And day by day, new pieces were added, and it just kind of kept building. I, I was also exploring different options, but I think I told you before, I was thinking about being a life coach But as I was doing my life coaching certification course, I was like, this doesn't, doesn't feel— this feels more like teaching. Like, I know I could do it and I would be a good coach and, and that would be fine, but that feels like that teaching energy, and that's not the energy I want to be in. There's not nothing wrong with it.
I guess that's not who you are. You are a teacher, but you are more, and that's what you needed to become.
So then I was like, okay God, well, if I'm not being a life coach, what the hell am I gonna do? You gotta show me, right? And he did. Um, and as I meditated, I started having these experiences. I was starting to sense energy better. I was working on my chakras in a new way. And I could start to feel a merkaba form around me, and I would travel. And I'd be like, can you talk more about what is merkaba? Well, my understanding is it's energy that we can create, and it— to me it looks like light, but, um, how can we create it? Good question. I created Well, one, it's, it's already created. It's more just tapping into it, in my opinion. So I tap into mine by activating my chakras and working on my chakras, and I kind of sit with that for 5 or 10 minutes. And then as the energy builds and I let that energy flow through me and my chakras, I just start feeling it. Spin around me.
And so you're saying that basically it's the energy that we are, and when we clear up the entire tunnel— or I wouldn't say tunnel, like a, like a, uh, was it like an energy field? Yeah, it's like a pipe basically that connects us from the bottom to the top. So as above, so below. You clear up all those centers, so it's, it's a clear, like a tube.
That's how I view it, like a white light tube, right? Or a rod. It feels like a rod. And, and then it's literally like a hole going through you, right? Exactly.
You started spinning. It was at the bottom of your body. Because when you're sitting in that meditation position, I guess you were sitting or you were lying down?
I was in a chair.
Chair. So you were, you're sitting in a chair and it started spinning you?
Well, I felt the energy spinning.
Yes.
I was still in my chair, right?
Right, of course. Um, and of course, because yeah, people can imagine that you are spinning on the chair, like on those, on this chair that it has two halves, a bottom triangle and a top triangle that overlap some.
And for me, when I get to my heart space, it activates the bottom one, which actually goes counterclockwise. And as I go up, once I get to the crown, then I'm like a full-blown— and it, to me, it's just activating the Merkaba. It's like I said, it's there, you just have to feel its energy. And for me, it felt like I stumbled upon this And at first I didn't know it was called a Merkaba. I just thought, wow, there's a lot of energy around me, and it's like— and that's pretty cool. And then I meditated. I would— it literally felt like I was lifting up in a rocket, and like the pressure, and sometimes my head would go back, and, um, and then I would gets somewhere, and it was like I was floating. And then I would see entities and, and have experiences, and then I would come back down, right? And I'd be like, what the hell just happened? What did I just see? What was all this? So I had to learn and do research to learn what the name of it all was, right?
And so how did you get to that point? Was it a guided meditation? Was it just you sat down yourself and you meditated?
Good question. I think for a while I was just doing what I felt led. For a while I felt more led to do mantras from, um, I guess Hindu. I would do Ganesh a lot, and I would do, um, mainly Ganesh and Shiva some. And whatever I just intuitively felt led to do, and I would dance around and I would just kind of be in the spirit and, and everything, basically building up energy. And then, um, I feel like my guides were like, work on your chakras, work with the chakras. So then I would focus on that. And I saw like a TikTok or something where somebody was like, you can scan your body like this and feel the energy. So I would practice with that. I started feeling where little blocks of energy were, and I learned how to like pull them out and cut the cords and How did you learn that? Just by absorbing other people's stuff and searching. I would find YouTube videos, or to me it was divinely guided. Like, I would be scrolling TikTok and there's a video, oh, you can scan your energy this way, and I'd be like, oh, you can? I didn't know that. Let's try it.
And so it was together you were learning it because you were getting information from your guides what to do. At the same time, you learned it from external sources, so it was all merged, and that's what, um, now you embody. So I also want to know what kind of entities— when you talk about, then you would feel yourself like you're on the clouds, you— yeah, different entities. What—
me, they're never negative because I'm going to a higher dimension. I know that now. That's been like a month to figure out, and I was like, what kind of dimension is that? I don't know the numbers, but I know they're much higher. I've been to the angelic dimension where the angels are. It feels very angelic. I don't know, to me it's like that energy is pure angel, and I can separate it from other energies. And when I went there once, that was really cool. I was just meditating to just kind of Okay, guys, whatever you have for me, kind of a meditation. And I did the whole chakra thing, the merkaba, and right, and then I get to this angelic realm, and I just mainly see golden light, like blinding golden light. And I have this feeling, I know I'm in the angelic realm, and this angel comes forward. Now for me, I— he was It's kind of hard to explain because I knew it was an angel, and that's just an inner knowing. He didn't say, I'm an angel, hi, I'm so-and-so. He didn't do that, or it didn't do that, but I knew it was an angel. And he came forward and he had his hands like this, and he put them towards me, and I saw like this energy go from his hands and into my mind and It was a story idea. And later I was like, well, thank you, that was a great story. Like, wow, what an idea. Okay, I love this idea. And I knew what to do with it. And then I felt like this energy going into my head, and it was like I knew— he didn't talk, but I knew it was the rest of the story. Like, he was putting the whole story in my head.
For me, it was like a fiction story that you got an idea from this angelic form, for, for this, and from this angelic entity. I'd say I don't really know exactly how to call them, so I'm offended. Sorry, it's just a joke. But yeah, so it's like a, it's like an angelic energy, right? Do they have bodies?
I think they do. To me, I, I see them more as energy, but Um, they do have some kind of body form, humanoid, like it— I saw an outline of a head.
Okay.
In that vision, he was kind of shadowed by all the bright light behind him, and it's like I see that, but that's not what I'm focusing on. Um, he was very intent on the story idea, and I was— my focus was on what's he handing me. And then I was also like, oh my gosh, I'm— this is an angel. I'm kind of freaking out.
It's happening probably all at the same time. It's like, whoa. So it's a beautiful experience. You got an idea for this story. Did you remember it?
Yeah, I did. Um, it's actually a screenplay, like a movie. Um, so I've already written Act 1, and I'm writing out Act 2, which I've never written a screenplay. That's like a desire in my heart to learn to write screenplays. So the fact I knew it was meant to be a movie, um, and just the way it was shown to me and like that inner knowing, it was like, okay, this is a movie and it needs to have this theme and, you know, tell this type of story. And yeah, and it was—
it feels much more different knowing that that story came from an angel and not just like me in the shower and like, oh, It's still, I guess, um, very interesting to ponder upon when you get direct experience with this entity giving you the story, and then you are not getting it through or upon meditation, but you're still writing, let's say, your stories, your poems, your screenplays, or, um, anything. It could be, right, blogs and so on. So it's still probably some kind of— you are the vessel communicating something that is coming through you from somewhere. But this direct experience is a different level for sure. And if you are to write it yourself, maybe— that's what I'm curious about. If it comes directly through, given to you, like on the hands of an angel, How is that different from a person writing a story, for example, a nonfiction story? So is it different lesson? Is it different way of wording things? Or is it the message? Or is it the energy that is communicated? How is that different? What do you think?
I like this question. I think, I think I just saw a visualization of maybe how an idea comes to us, you know, because I've gotten ideas that I'm like, where did this come from? I didn't have— that was my brain thought of that? Cool. Be it fiction or nonfiction. So to me, I was just given a visualization of what that process looks like, I feel. And that's not just for me. I feel like that's for everybody. Because if you feel divinely inspired, or for me it stems from my heart space, that's where I feel it. Other people might have another chakra or something where they, they feel things, but if it's coming from there, then even if you don't see the angel literally holding his hands out, okay, you know, it's— to me it goes back to that white light that streams down through us. It's coming in that way. And to me, if you know how to sense energy, you can literally feel it being put in your head, which is pretty cool.
So it is the— yeah, it's interaction between mind and— sorry, brain and your heart. But everything we do, when we do from the space of love, That's what it is. And it doesn't matter whether the angel gives it to you or it just happens behind your computer without having this meditative experience, um, or mystical experience. It is the same product. Yes. Okay, thank you so much. That's a beautiful answer. Yeah, it can clarify for a lot of people what's going on too, because I think that a lot of people are maybe trying to contact, make contact, and it's not always happening. So don't worry, as long as it is from your heart, it is the same. Although you don't have the manifested experience or you don't have the proof that it's from the higher realm, it's coming through my heart to you.
Yeah. Well, I think, I think the problem or the risk as a human is your ego I literally had an angel hand me a story, right? And it— I was like, this story is gold, this is amazing, I can't believe it hasn't been written yet, that I get to write it, how cool is this? But even as writing it, my ego would get in and be like, nobody's gonna buy that screenplay, how are you gonna do it? And it was just like, oh, but, but the angel— I mean, the angel gave it to me, so even if nobody sees it, I'm supposed to be writing it, even if it's just me, right?
Like, one disrespect.
But I think that's, that's, uh, that's the real life struggle right there, is you couldn't even get a story from a freaking angel literally handing it to you, and then your ego will still fight it and second-guess it. And that's normal, I feel. But you have to have that faith, like, whether somebody sees it or not, I'm meant to write this story, even if it's just for me.
That's exactly where we get blocked on, whether it's the throat chakra or it is, uh, basically you block yourself not expressing yourself. Doesn't matter whether it is social media or not, that's your, um, I would even say responsibility keep the flow going, express yourself through different ways. And if you block that, then it's really— it's not that difficult, but it depends. I mean, it depends on the time. If you've done it for that long, it's gonna take you that much longer to activate again and so on. But a lot of people are holding themselves back because exactly the ego steps in. And it could be just even, oh, I'm not going to talk to this person. I'm not going to text, right? Do, do. Because, and again, the intention of your heart, if it's there, it's definitely going to reach its purpose.
Well, to me, that's where faith comes in and stepping out of that comfort zone. Because I stepped out of my comfort zone to to start a business. I didn't even know what it was. I felt led to do this meditation. I didn't know what I was gonna see. I didn't know. I wasn't expecting to see an angel, let alone get a story idea. That was not my intention at all going in. It was— I kept it open and I kept—
yeah, yeah, I removed your ego.
Yeah, for that moment. It came back later, but for that moment I did.
Of course. Well, because your ego has to be there for sure. We know why, uh, We can talk about it also somewhere else. But that's important, what I got, because I was trying to meditate. And I had intentions. And I was like, I wanted it to happen. I wanted it to happen. And it just can't. And then I shuffled my cards. And the card exactly came saying this one, like, just surrender. Don't expect— you don't have the, I don't know, control to say what you want. I was like, oh, sure. And that's the control issues that we have in a lot of ways in our lives daily. We believe that we have to have control over things. But no, when you release that control, that's when things start happening. The magic comes. So what was the next for you?
Basically, I just kept doing it, and it— then I'm doing it—
you mean meditations?
Or yeah, the meditation, like, where to me it's— it feels like a ritual.
I—
it's— I, I take time to prepare myself for meditation. It's a— it's not just a, oh, I'm gonna play this and, and do that. That's how I started out back in 2019, but nothing really happened. Occasionally I would have a vision or a big experience, but most time I would just fall asleep or just get calm. But now I'm taking it more serious, and yeah, it feels like a ritual. It's slightly different each time, but it's what I need for that meditation.
It was probably a ritual.
Yeah, it's like I said, it changes.
So, um, and it's personal to you. Yeah, it is good to share. Maybe can inspire somebody that they can adjust it to their own being and follow your template.
Yeah, well, the first thing I do is clean my aura. So that's either with salt in the shower because there's no bathtubs here, um, or I I do like a Reiki thing where I imagine a green flame and kind of brush it off, and the flame consumes any impurities and then it extinguishes, right? So I'll either do that to just kind of start cleansing my own energy, then I'll do a scan either like this— now I don't need to use my hand, I can visualize my energy body and just figure out what needs work. So I'll do that. I'm also— during this, I will also use my intuition to figure out which music I need to listen to, and I'll already have it playing so I'm getting in that mode. Sometimes— one time there was drums in the music and I just felt like dancing, so I just danced for like 30 minutes. Um, whatever I intuitively do if I feel led to light incense or use crystals, I will bring those out and get them all set up during this time. And that's to me like the ritual time, the preparation, preparing my own energy, preparing my space and myself. And then when I'm ready, you know, calm, I will work on my chakras and activate them and spend time on each one and kind of get a feel for their energy and As I'm doing this, then I start to feel that Merkaba, and then when it's all ready, lift off, right? And I have this experience, and then I usually let it last for 15 or 20 minutes, and then I, I just kind of open my eyes and I come out of it. So for me, that's how the process—
and so when you are getting maybe I would say information, basically, right? Uh, knowledge. So then you work with that and it led you to opening up your business.
Yeah, to literally narrow it in. I realized my love for meditation as I was doing this, and I was like, I love having these experiences, I want to share them with people, and I want other people to learn how to do this because I feel like it's really cool, and who wouldn't want to do something really cool? And then I realized I could connect to other people's higher selves while I'm up there. So then I was like, I tested it as a reading, even though it's not tarot cards, it's, it's not somebody just channeling.
It's a higher self reading, basically. Okay, a psychic reading, maybe you can call it a psychic reading.
Yeah, it's this type of psychic reading. And I was like, well, even though I don't know if other people do readings this way, if I meant to do a reading this way, then that's how I'll do it.
And actually, I'm gonna go back to where you experience meeting your higher self, and then you can talk about how you get to meet other people's higher selves. So what's that higher self meeting higher self?
Okay, well, back in 2019, I did a guided meditation where they brought in your higher self and you saw them. And for me, that was a very big experience, because I, I assumed it would be like a duplicate of me that I saw walk in this room they had you imagine, but I saw like this 10, 12-foot light being. It was humanoid, but it was made of golden light. And as soon as it walked in, the me in my meditation, my, my astral self, which I didn't realize at the time, but I just fell to my my— the floor and started bawling because the unconditional love emanating from my higher self just overwhelmed me. And I could not— I could feel that it was me, but I was like in disbelief that my higher self was this divine thing full of love, full of unconditional, like, love I've never experienced before. Unconditional, like, godly love. And it was just I just was crying in this meditation. And then when I came out of it, yeah, I had tears down my face. I didn't even know I was crying in my body, but I was. And then I tried to meet my higher self after that, and it didn't— nothing was that level of experience, right? But then now, I— when I was doing these meditations, and I was doing readings, and I was seeing other people's higher selves, and they weren't just a humanoid shape like mine. They had details and names. And some didn't have the love energy. They might have forgiveness or strength that would just emanate off of them the way love emanated off of mine. And I was like, I want to, I want to see myself again. Because I feel like I'm not a humanoid either. That was just all I could see of myself at that level. But there's another level to myself and I want to know it. And it took some time. Like, I did the whole Merkaba thing and I was ready and I was going up, but it was higher than— with the intention of meeting my higher self, but it was— I couldn't handle the pressure of where my higher self lived. My higher self was like, okay Joy, if you want to come to me, you can, but good luck kind of feeling. And then as I was going up, I was like, you're right, this is a little, a little too much for me. I can't handle this pressure. So I couldn't do it, but I really wanted to. And, um, as I did more readings for other people and I was, I was starting to be able to handle that frequency, that pressure, And I was like, okay, okay, it's time. It's time to do my— I know I can get there now to that level. I'm ready. And so I did. And it was such a cool experience. I wasn't sure when I was going to do it, but I felt like when I need to do it, I'll know. And I woke up one morning at like 4:45. In the morning, right before the sun came up. And I was like, okay, I know I'm awake. It's— they want— my higher self wants me to meet them this time and to do it with the sunrise. How beautiful. So I did that whole process, clearing my aura, chakras, all that, right? And, um, I honestly can't remember if I laid down or if I sat I really— that's kind of fuzzy for me, but what happened was, yeah, I shot up and I, I saw Pachamama. I saw Gaia this time, and it was quite an experience. Like, um, it's a little hard to explain, but I'll do my best.
What is Pachamama.
Spanish for Gaia.
Um, what is Gaia?
And Gaia is Mother Earth.
Yes, Mother Earth. So you met Mother Earth, and yeah, we could think that that's not a being, but what is it that you met?
Well, what I saw was I saw the Earth. Well, as I was working on my chakras, I realized my Earth Star, which is the chakra below your root um, was the whole Earth. And I was like, whoa, I literally am like floating above the Earth. This is cool that I'm that connected to Pachamama, or Mother Earth, right? Um, and then it— I saw the Earth and I saw my light body, or myself, flying around it. And I could— I was in observer mode is what I'd call it. But I, if I would just sheer intent, I could project my intention into the me who was flying around the Earth. And I did that for a little bit. It was blissful. So I remember touching the water and I was just like really happy flying around the Earth. And then I went back to observer mode and I saw my tracks. And they were like turning into like this clay, and I was covering up the whole Earth. It was almost— at that point when I went back to observer mode, it was almost encased. The whole Earth was encased in my tracks going around it.
And I was like, wow, that's beautiful.
Well, I was like, what did I do?
What?
I'm not supposed to have tracks. What is this? And as I'm thinking that The me flying around like stops and kind of floats away, and the Earth is just hanging there. And then it felt like a movement, like it went and just broke out of this clay-like encasing that my tracks had created. And I was like, whoa, go Earth! Yes, okay, you're broke. I'm glad I didn't like trap you or something. And then I heard Mother Gaia or Pachamama. She was just like, no, thank you. That was my chrysalis. I needed to, to go through it. And then I saw, I guess, my higher self or her. And this is where it gets a little weird. I saw the earth, like the land and the water, but it became more transparent. It looked holographic.
Okay.
And when I— it was still big, like a big circle, right? And when I took my attention from that, I saw like these white streams going into— like the light of the projection was coming from this ginormous light body in the center of the Earth, stemming from the heart space, projecting the whole globe around them 360. So like the core of the Earth is this light body, or Pachamama, or Gaia, or Mother Earth, which in some way is my heart space. And their projection is what our bodies are living on and everything. And it was like, I just remember being blown away. Like, I can't believe I'm seeing this. Like, she's showing herself to me in like this way, in this form.
And What did you understand? Was it a message in it or just experience?
Well, for me, I realized, because I know I have a large heart chakra, I have a lot of energy that flows through it, and it was like, Joy, this is Mother Gaia is in your heart. Like, this is a part of who you are and your connection This is a tree, like your connection to nature that you love. I'm love— obviously I love nature, right? Um, and it just felt like I understood a piece of myself in a new way. And I have this whole new— I had no idea how connected I was to Pachamama.
And I mean, I love nature, I love being in nature, But yeah, it's like we are connected, but we don't know, we don't realize until we have connection through meditation what it is actually that we are— like, um, how would I call it— like, how we are connected either to that realm or that realm or so and so. But we are all earthly beings as well. So we are all connected to Mother Earth, and so all of us can experience this Pachamama connection.
I think so.
Yeah, well, yeah, true. We should say maybe everybody. I'm not sure.
Anybody who wants to, we'll put it that way.
True. Yes, anybody who is open to it, they can, they can get it. Yes. Uh, beautiful. So you understood yourself your origin, your connections to— you will fill in the gaps about yourself, I guess. Yes.
Yeah, yeah. I had no idea.
I thought I was gonna see a light being, or that was right, because you thought that you were meeting your higher self and you had the previous experience, so you thought maybe something similar is going to happen. And yet this is what your higher self gave you as an experience, right?
Beautiful.
And so I believe that's what the regression is doing, uh, with the help, because we are capable of doing it for ourselves. But, um, yeah, I mean, there are practitioners who can help us with these all kinds of modalities too. Oh yeah, where, where, what you are describing. And so you then were meeting other people's higher selves your higher self? And then through the continuation of your work, where did it lead you?
Well, now I offer what I call soul reading. So I can go into a meditative state. I'll do that soul process I told you earlier of incense and crystals and clearing my energy. But while I'm doing that for a reading, I'm tapping into the other person's energy. I'm listening to music that's meant for them, not me.
And how did you generate that understanding of what kind of song or what kind of music?
I know, like, that came bit by bit. Um, so the first bit was, you need to try this for others, which was a step of faith because I was like, well, like, I'm pretty content with what I'm experiencing now, so we don't need to involve other people. It was just like, take that faith, take a step. You'll— you won't regret it. You, you need this. And I really did, because it really helped me understand that what I'm experiencing and seeing when I do this astral travel is indeed astral travel and real. Because every reading I've done, it resonates with people. And they— like, I'll see a spirit animal and they're like, yes, that animal is my favorite animal, or I saw that animal yesterday, was brought to my attention, and the message their higher selves or these animals or their guides have resonates. So it was like, for me, it took me out to like a next level in my mind and spiritually, because I was like, okay, this— I'm tapping into something beyond my imagination, beyond Joy D. Fanning, right?
Like There is the removal of your subjective mind. Yes.
Yeah. So that kind of fueled the fire, and each time it'd be like, okay, now this time, pick— don't use your music, choose the music for that and see what happens. And the first time I did that, I got singing bowls, and I was like, well, I don't listen to singing bowls at all, but okay. So I use singing bowls, um, and I did a silent meditation. And the woman I did that reading for was like, well, I met— I pretty much only meditate to singing bowls, and I do silent meditation to singing bowls. That's how I meditate. And I was like, whoa, really? Because I don't do that at all. That— I'm a binaural beats kind of gal. So, um, that was just another confirmation. Okay, so I can use the music for them and Um, just, yeah, bit by bit, like, why don't you try this, Joy? And the last bit that came was to write a guided meditation for the person I'm doing a reading for, because obviously I love to meditate, right? And I got started doing guided meditations because as a clairvoyant, the visualizations helped me beautifully to imagine what I'm trying to see or experience. So I'd already dabbled in writing them. I took a course in how to teach or write or make meditation, so I was doing that. And then that was like the last piece, was like make a meditation for them. So I did it for some friends, and if they had amazing experiences—
that was my question, can you Who was the very first person that you did it apart from yourself?
Ooh, let me think for a second. I want to say it was my friend Ryan.
You're doing soul reading. That's what's your— how would I say it? Practice. That's what your practice is, soul reading. And you picked Ryan as your first person.
Well, it— I, I knew I wanted to do a soul reading for him, so I did that. But then I just felt, um, for him, he— his spirit animal was a whale, and the whale just really wanted to connect with Ryan in a different way.
So can you describe how did you start it? So if other people would really want you to do the soul reading for them, what are they to experience? What are they to expect?
I would say you need to expect to keep, keep it open, keep your mind open, because it will resonate, but it's also going to bring new insights into yourself. It's mainly like a personality reading in a way. Like, um, like I said, everybody— I emanate— my higher self emanates love, but I've seen strength, forgiveness, passion. There's all these other beautiful energies out there. And I'll tell you that, like, well, when I saw your higher self, I was overwhelmed with compassion.
Okay. And so how do you actually do the process? So let's say I find your client, I would give you some information about me, like my birthday, or my name, or what would you need?
I would really not. I just need to know your name. Um, I would only collect your email address to just give you the information. I don't— I really personally don't want to know that much, if that makes— not like in a bad way, but like I want— I don't want my 3D knowledge to impact what I see or experience or to take away from what you— the reading. Because if I don't know what your favorite animal is, and then I'm like, well, I— that happened in a reading. I didn't know her favorite reading— her favorite animal was a panda, and that's what the animal that came forward. And when I told her that, she's like, are you— she had a panda bear. She's like, I love pandas, right? Panda, beautiful.
So that's what it is. You don't need information because that's what you're doing. You're doing the soul reading for people, so all you need is their name, and what do you do with your name? So I give you my name, and what do you do? You prepare yourself? Like, if I—
yeah, I do my preparing. I, I pick the crystals that I feel you need during that beginning phase, and I'm just like, okay, Linda's guides, show me what she needs right now. And they'd be like, well, she needs green and purple crystals. Okay, I will gather those. Well, she needs to— we need the violet incense. Okay, we'll put the violet incense. Well, she likes— you need to listen to this meditative music, it's shamanic drumming. I'm making all this up, but you know, like, okay, I will listen to shamanic drumming. Okay, and then as I work on the chakras, I don't hook— I will do mine first, so I'm not bringing any of myself into it, but then I'm like, okay, I'm now going to work on Linda's chakras. And then I do that, I write down what I see. Sometimes I get messages during that. What I might feel— a blockage. I'll figure out, is this a block I can remove for her? Is this one she needs to remove? Is there a chakra that's hyperactive, overactive? You know, I'll make notes of all of this, and I ask my guides to help me remember because it does get fuzzy a little bit. I'm at the point now where I can write, like, take open my eyes and write it out and then go back into that energy. Um, so I'll do all this, and then when I get to the astral plane and I'm at where the higher self is, I literally— I'll say sense— I can sense their spirit family, like their spirit guides. It's this large group of energy, and for me It's basically like a black— I'm already in a black space, and it's like a more black blob that is their spirit guides. And I'll be like, okay, Linda's spirit guides, who has a message for Linda? Um, and usually it's either the higher self or the spirit animal will just kind of pop out of that black blob. Then I will see color, and I will see, oh, this is an owl. Hi, Mr. Owl, what do you want to tell Linda? Well, I want to tell Linda— and then they will tell me. And they're like, well, you got anything else you want to say to Linda? Nope, you're good. Okay, okay, who else has a message for Linda? And we— I just kind of— it's like a mini conference, and we talk.
And yeah, you, you download what you can from whatever the entity there shows up for me or for the client.
Yeah. And yeah, I'll collect all these messages, and then once like I've talked to 2 or 3 of them, I'll be like, okay, does anybody else want to say anything? Sometimes I might just see a flash. I've seen like some starseed aliens, they'll just— they won't talk, they'll just like show themselves to basically be like I'm a part of her spirit guides or whatever. And I'm like, okay, I'll make a note of that. And then I kind of come back down, which is the end of the meditation, and I just type it all out. Um, and I would encourage anybody who does this to, to write it out. I do that for myself, and I do it obviously for the readings. I will also stay— I'm still kind of tapped into that energy So while I'm writing, I might get clarity on a message that I heard while in meditation or while traveling, and I'll write it all out. Then I will go back and basically do the research for them, find the hyper— make hyperlinks of things. What does an owl spirit animal mean? I'll find a page that tells you that. What does green crystals mean? I will find a page that gives you that information. So then this Google Doc not only has what I have, but the explanation behind it.
Beautiful. So the entire profile. Yeah.
Yeah.
And so then you send them also home with some work to do.
Yeah. Then, yeah, whatever. Usually I'll be like, what do they need to work on while I'm in meditation? Or if they want to know their purpose, what, what's Linda's purpose in life? And they won't tell me the answer, which I'm completely in agreement with. I feel like that's for the client to do on their own. But I will either have an idea pop in my head, or I'll just have an inner knowing of what meditation to make for them. So like with Ryan, my friend Ryan with the whale, that whale was like, he needs to talk to me, he needs to be a Jonah and like literally go in my mouth and like experience my energy. I was like, well, okay, Mr. Whale, I will do this. So I was writing out Ryan's messages, the idea of, well, he needs a meditation to go meet his whale because I don't think he just knows how to do that. So I wrote a meditation a guided meditation, a visualization of being on the beach, diving in the water, and then a whale comes up and you swim to the whale and he talks to you. Pretty simple on my end.
Um, easier said than done, but yes, it's, it's a beautiful help. That's all you can do for sure. Yes.
And then, yeah, I gave— I've added— I use my intuition and pick the background music that I felt would be best for Ryan. And I go into Premiere, I put it all together, and I sent him the audio. And after his reading, he was like, okay, I really want to do this meditation. And he was like, wow, I met the whale, the whale talked to me, and I have more clarity now. And I feel more in line with my purpose and everything.
So if people can do that, anybody can do that. Meaning like, you, your clients already experienced that you, you are getting results. So yes, more and more, uh, for sure should flow because it's the best, it's the coziest feeling ever to have a connection to yourself, for sure. And you are the channel for that. That's beautiful. I am so super grateful for this gift of yours. Thank you, me too, especially because I think that we all struggle with bad decisions or certain things happen to us and we can't get clarity or healing, whatever it is that we need to tackle. And we all want to ascend. We all want to, I don't know, feel ourselves being successful and, you know, just be there for yourself as then you can be there for the others. So that's It's incredible. I don't know how to call it, the purpose that you are embodying.
Well, it was my own journey. Like, I didn't realize this when I first started, but as I did the work, it was just like leading me to meditation. And I was like, OK, I love making guided meditations. I just love it. It's like writing a story.
And that's what it is all about. Yeah, you love writing stories. You love writing altogether. It doesn't matter distinguishing what kind of writing it is. And so this is another genre.
Yeah, I think it's beautiful. I don't know.
Sorry, just to, um, wrap it up, and we definitely want to have you back on so you can go more deeply into your awakening process even more and also explain new, let's say, encounters that you have, you know, with different clients so that it can bring a lot more inspiration to the others that find this very useful for them. Um, because I don't want to hold you too long either. It's been, it's been a beautiful video, but, um, your website So you have website, do you have Instagram, do you have, uh, how can people reach you?
But my, my thing is Astronaut of Life, so if you just— the website's astronautoflife.com, all lowercase smushed together.
Well, we definitely put it below the video, and that's the way to contact you the best. Would you have, let's say, daily insights that you share on Facebook or Instagram or some kind of other social media?
3 times a week on Instagram, and I make YouTube videos. I also have a Discord group, um, for everybody to just talk about their meditations, and I put guided meditations in there. And then every Saturday at 12 noon my time, which is Eastern time in the United States, I do a live guided meditation on a Zoom call with people from my Discord group. So I also put guided meditations on Insight Timer, which is a meditation app.
And we'll put all those links for sure below the video. And I also want to ask you just the last thing, if you can clarify for me too. The Discord group is called the Discord because—
well, Discord is the name of the app.
Oh, okay, I didn't know.
I see.
And the guided meditation would be about connecting themselves or grounding themselves, or different every week.
I kind of let my guides and intuition tell me what, what the topic is for that week, and then I write it out and, and we do it together.
So it's always about something else, but it's always healing, it's always beneficial, it's always for expanding either the consciousness, ascension, and so on.
Yeah, we've done inner child, we've done past life, we've done, you know, different topics, but all in meditation. And, um, if you can't make it to the live, then I put the recording in the Discord group. It's just like a chat, a big chat group, um, for everybody to talk about their experiences and what they like.
How can they join? Is it like a membership-based or it's free?
Um, There's a link because Discord has like channels. So you need to join my channel, right? And then you're in our group chat and you have access to everything. So yeah, I can give— we can put that at the link.
Yes, we'll definitely put it below. Thank you so much, Joy. I know the time is progressing and we'll definitely have to get you back on to— like I said, I want you to specifically talk about some soul readings, uh, where you can also bring us an example of a transformative story or a story of transformation, right? So that would be very inspiring for more people to connect to you and get what they really need. It's, it's absolutely necessary. It is so, I would say, life-saving. Yeah, many, right?
It's, it's beautiful for me and it's beautiful for them.
So like, when it is, it's absolutely, um, magic to be experiencing somebody else's soul. Yeah, I can imagine. And then at the same time, you are not really breaching the privacy, right? Because I mean, you do get the messages, but—
well, I only— my thing is, I— if they want a reading, I like— if they're giving me permission, I'm not just gonna go visit your higher self without your permission.
No, for sure.
No.
Yeah.
So, um, if they ask for a reading, like if you're a client and you buy it, right, or Um, if a friend asked me, I'm like, well, do I have permission to tap into your energy and, and see your guides and everything? So to me, that's an important factor too, I guess, right?
Well, with workers like you, there's a lot of integrity, right? So there's absolutely no fear like, oh my gosh, this person is gonna know so much about me, more than I know about myself, because it's beyond that. It's, it's about I need that for my own connection that I'm experiencing in this life space reality. And this is— there's this person that can help me. So that's all about that. And Joy, thank you so much. We are ending at the beautiful time, 3:03 for me. Yeah, it's a good angelic number.
So I will contact you again.
We'll put the links below the video, and, uh, I wish you a very beautiful afternoon.
You too.
Thank you so much.
It's time, Linda. It is beautiful. I love talking to you.
I love talking to you too. So we'll be back. I'm gonna end this recording and I'll send it to you.
Okay, thanks.
Take care.
Bye-bye.
