It's been almost a month on this road trip. Adi and I usually like to drive off-road and sometimes wander off to wherever the road takes us. With each turn, I discover charming villages tucked away in the mountains, each one revealing a new story. As we wind through these remote landscapes, you might wonder, where exactly are we, and what hidden paradise awaits us around the next bend? Let me share a story. We didn't know much about this beautiful country, and while in London, we met an Uber driver who was from Kosovo. He was thrilled to hear that we were going to his homeland, as he had never heard anyone say they were going there. The conversation made us more excited. He suggested we check out the Šar Mountains and we are glad we did. We had no idea we had discovered what turned out to be a budget-friendly version of mini Switzerland. Walking through its cobblestone streets, you'll find yourself surrounded by centuries-old mosques, churches, and traditional houses that tell stories of its rich past. The market area is full of life with local craft people selling their work and cozy cafes where you can enjoy traditional Kosovo coffee. Mm, now we are on our way to Pristina to check out the local Christmas markets. And grab something to eat. I love going to Christmas markets, so I thought to myself, why skip this one? Honestly speaking, guys, I spend most of my days here outdoors in the nature. This country is absolutely stunning. And on my last day, I realized, oh my God, the hotel I'm staying in has lots of design inspirations. So let's go and check some out. Four Seasons by Sheraton. They have done a good job in dividing dining spaces along with lounge and conversation areas. I love the private screen in their dining room. It's a clever way to create a space for bigger parties. The use of wood panels on the ceiling reminded me of geocastor in Albania, but with a modern touch. They displayed many original artworks by local artists. The vibrant, colorful traditional pieces mounted on modern wood paneling added a sense of history and character to the space. The blend of modern furniture with traditional Kosovo art created an elegant fusion of old and new design elements. Kosovo is a country that is often overlooked by tourists. It is surprising to see how few people visit this beautiful and scenic destination. I fell in love with Kosovo through its people. I wish I had spent more time here. Kosovo, until next time, ciao for now! Did you guys enjoy this episode? If yes, please let me know in the comments below. And wait, have you subscribed yet? If not, please do it right now, right now, right now, please, bye!
