Hi, this is Kanika Bakshi -Khurana from Kanika Design. At the moment I'm in my favorite country, it's Italy, and we are in the city of Naples. It's chaotic, it's crazy, and I want to find all the design inspiration there is to offer. So let's go check it out. Naples is chaos, and I fell in love with this crazy city. Naples is truly impressive and charming. This is the Italy they show you in the movies. From the mouthwatering aroma of local cuisine flowing through the air to the vibrant streets filled with lively markets, Naples captures the essence of Italy in every way. From the shouts of the vendors to the bargaining between buyers and sellers at the fish market, there is a constant energy that fills the air. I was really excited to be in this shop, also trying to communicate with everyone using broken English and my Google Translate. I was fascinated watching them restore antique furniture, seeing all the different techniques they used to breathe life back into pieces that have been passed down through generations. In my opinion, if you have antique furniture, you should know that it has good bones. Sadly, we don't find that quality in furniture these days. Restoring old furniture and bringing it back to life is truly magical. If you're hunting for unique pieces in Naples, visit this shop. Their collection includes beautiful dressers, tables, chairs, and other rare finds that would make stunning additions to any home. Look at this beautiful chest. This will soon be waxed and polished. I love authentic shops like these. This is where the real work happens before it's sold to us in the big showrooms. Don't these remind you of some kind of dining seatings in a castle in Europe?
Sto riscaldando la colla di pesce per incollare. Americano? Pesce di balena, grasso di balena.
You're melting it so you can glue the wood together.
I pezzi che si sono staccati con il calore del ferro, fatto di fuoco, perché è colla che va sul fuoco, si riscalda, si rincolla un'altra volta. Vedi?
Oh, the pieces that broke off with the heat of iron made of fire. Oh, okay, so basically things that were broken. Oh, you know when it peels off? So he use heat and iron to glue them back together. When traveling to new places, you often encounter language barriers. The key is to be patient and respectful while using technology to bridge these gaps. Okay, we took some videos of everyone working, asked some questions, but thank you so much.
Okay, abbiamo girato qualche video di tutto coloro che lavorano e facciamo loro delle domande. Ma grazie mille. Okay.
A warm smile and kind gestures go a long way in connecting with locals, and you'll come home with wonderful stories to tell. Thank you so much. Bye. Ciao. It has been 3 months while design hopping around Europe, and before heading to Italy, we took a little break. It was necessary, and I am so happy because it's my favorite country, and I'm always so excited to land here and just be like, ah, because I want to live here one day. Guys, there's inspiration everywhere you go, so let's go and check out some more of Italy. So guys, this is a very cool find. Um, it's just on a market square, and you know how when we go into all these bars, cafes, and even fancy restaurants and they have these really cool posters all around? This place has it. So if you look through these, some of them, that's very interesting stuff. Here's some more options. I mean, like, God, this is beautiful. Women are beautiful, but this is amazing. Put it in some really nice frames and you have some really unique artwork to take home with you. This is so neat. I would love this in a cafe bar. So nice, so unique. Look at this poster, it's really popping, especially the yellow background. It's a really unique piece. This right here is very different. I just love whatever is captured in this moment, just the excitement. And I'm going to turn one more page. Oh, this is really nice too. Movie poster, anything you name, they have everything. So guys, there are lots of bookstores here, and this one is very unique. It's straight out of a movie scene. The decor and the colors and all the placements of these small stools It's just so pretty. It's beautiful in there. All the old books on top. It's a bar with something to read. We see coffee shops with books and library, but this is a unique take with a bar. I don't know what you'll be reading while you're drunk, but I love everything about this place. This royal palace is one of Italy's best. The interior is impressive with ornate staircase, beautiful royal chapel, and the incredible theater. All showcasing the finest Italian craftsmanship of that period. Every room had a story to tell. These spaces were a great reminder not to leave your fifth wall undone. All the ceilings I saw added such magic and beauty, drawing your eyes upward and compelling you to admire them from every angle. This palace showcases how marble can be used dramatically in designed to create a sense of luxury and powerful aesthetics. I was amazed by the incredible details and craftsmanship of these palace doors and walls. They really showed me how decorative elements can transform into stunning focal points that give spaces their unique personality and warmth. I love this look where hallway doors are surrounded by marble. It adds elegance and depth any space. With so many design inspirations, this palace is a great example of the beautiful Baroque style of architecture that originated in Italy in the late 16th century. If you love visiting palaces that are in a museum-like setting, this is a must-visit. Christmas is right around the corner, and every town, big or small, across Europe is decked out in dazzling lights, bringing the magic of Christmas to life. Free concerts fill the churches while people sing and celebrate together. I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know. Make my wish come true. Do you like Christmas stores and decorating around the holidays? If you are in Naples during this season, you'll find lots of stores selling ornaments, decorative items, and many Christmas goodies. This store is a magical place selling handcrafted traditional Italian Christmas decorations that make perfect souvenirs. Walking through these festive shops really gets you into the holiday spirit. Oh, and I also found a cute gift for my little niece here. I loved my time here, discovering magical finds on the streets, savoring amazing food, and exploring different neighborhoods. Naples, you made my time here special during this holiday season. I'll miss waking up to this beautiful, vibrant, and bustling city. The lively energy surrounding me has been pure joy.
