KMM 2026 Session 5 - Zen & 5% CHANCE | Naren | Life School |

Naren teaches a three-step Zen process for seizing low-probability opportunities: zoom out, explore possibilities, navigate. Shooter Manu Bhatt came back after a pistol malfunction. The session identifies four internal drivers that determine whether you'll take a 5% risk: fear of loss, desire for gain, fatigue, and personal standards.

Okay, voice loud and clear?
Good morning. Yes, sound loud and clear.
Excellent. So today now let's straight away jump into the topic. Because I believe today we have a topic which will be a turning point in the life of thousands of students. If we can feel this session and deliver the session properly, this will be the most fascinating session ever. Now, before I go there, let me share something very, very beautiful that I am going through that I am actually a little proud of. Uh, yesterday morning, for the first time ever in my life, I ran 22.31 kilometers in 3 hours of running. You know, since six months ago, I wouldn't have given myself a chance of running for three hours nonstop. Thanks to TJ and thanks to Betu and thanks to all the lovely meal support at home from Bharti. Three hours nonstop running The goal in front of us very very large that is to run the comrades. But this is an extraordinary milestone. Next Sunday, I'm going for my first half marathon, 21 kilometers in Hyderabad. When I started this, I thought if I can run it in 3 and a half hours, I'll be very happy. Till 15 days ago, I was thinking if I can complete it in 3 hours, I'll be very happy. After yesterday's run, I'm thinking next Sunday, if I can complete it in less than 2 hours 45 minutes, I'll be very happy. And when I come back, I'll tell you what I actually did. This brings me to something very, very beautiful and something very, very interesting, which is what is the topic of today's life lesson. Many of us have dreams and desires. Many of us wait for good chances Of converting the dream of desire into a reality. But the world is filled with examples of so many people. Where the chances of success was five percent or less, and yet people went for it and converted that into a reality. You know, I am in that zone right now where I think I want to give it my hundred percent and a little more. I remember when I had started training, 1999, May 22nd, when I had come to Pune. Nobody had given me a chance to succeed, which includes my darling father and darling mom. They said, "नहीं हो पाएगा," and lot of reasons were given. For example, I am not educated, so why should somebody come and listen to me? For example, I don't have any qualification of a PhD degree or psychology, and therefore why should anybody listen to me? For example, I have not been a leader in a corporate world in a corporate sense. I've never led a large team for years towards a target, so why should anybody listen to me? When I came to Pune, I did not know a single human being in Pune. I came just with When I landed over here, there is a guy called Dr. Arora who came to know about me being here, and he was the best trainer in the city at that point of time. So he called me to a place called Aurora Tower. It was not owned by him. His surname also happens to be Aurora. And there he said, "Sir, आपको पुणे में ट्रेनिंग करना है." And I said, "Yes." He said, "Do you know there are 765 registered trainers in Pune? All of them have some background in psychology or corporate training." And good news is, on 7th of September, we are starting batch 158 of my life. Today, Dr. Arora is not training. Poor fellow shut down his training organization, and we are doing superbly well. My chances of success was less than 1%. But gave it a shot. Like the place where I go to run, people look at me with a lot of sympathy. Fifty-seven years old, ninety-two kgs. And I am saying And for me, my role model in running is TJ. I assume TJ is a little older than me, and he can be fit and run kilometers as if he's a breeze flowing through the air. कुछ तो करी लेंगे अपन, और कुछ नहीं तो my coach tells me when I run I should say जय श्रीराम जय श्रीराम जय श्रीराम. I will say TJ Five percent, and yet people who had that single-minded goal, "I want to give my hundred percent to make it happen," actually made it happen. Isro's Mangalyaan, Mangal Orbiter Mission in 2014, India became the first nation to reach Mars orbit on its very first attempt. First attempt. And what was the cost of that project? Less than the cost of making the movie Gravity. So about 1% of the cost of NASA, we succeeded at the first attempt. Uh, how about Indra's— India's Chandrayaan-3 moon landing in 2023? So if you're a person who says the odds must be in my favor before I do something, I think your measurement is a little wrong. It should more be like, I don't care about the odds, I am going to give my 100%, and that makes magic happen. Magic is never in odds. Magic is never the chance of my success is so much, therefore I want to give it a shot. Even if the chance of your success is very less, you are willing to give it a shot. That is more critical in success. So don't look at the odds of success. Milkha Singh, he saw his parents getting murdered during partition. He came to India As a refugee, extremely poor, grew up in poverty, and became the first Indian to participate in the finals of a track and field event and created records which stood for decades. Arunima Sinha lost the leg after being thrown out of the train and became the first female amputee to climb Mount Everest. What are the odds? If she had told people I want to climb, how many people would have said हो सकेगा? You know when people tell you नहीं हो पाएगा? People tell you नहीं हो पाएगा because they can see the quantum of effort required. And remember this for the rest of your life. If you hesitate to go for a goal. It is not that the goal is difficult, but it is because of the quantum of effort required. Like I went for a run yesterday, and today morning again I went for a run. So I woke up as usual at four a.m., went for my run. The issue is not whether somebody who's fifty-seven years old and ninety plus kgs can run or not. The our issue is effort Before anything becomes effortless, we have to put effort. Again, if TJ Nayak the way he runs today, he makes it look effortless, but he would have put efforts to make it look effortless. So we give up on ourselves not because it is not possible for us; it is because we don't like the quantum of effort which is required. Let me give you a few more examples. India winning the 1983 World Cup. Kapil Dev's teams were ranked outsiders. In fact, they had booked their return ticket much before the tournament was supposed to end. None of them had ever believed that they could win it except one man called Kapil Dev. And in the history of 50 overs, they had not too many wins. So chances of winning was like 1 to 1,000. The odds of winning was 0.1%, but they made it happen. India winning the 2007 T20 World Cup. Relatively inexperienced squad, MS Dhoni's first assignment as captain, and they won it. And how about the most stunning example from the corporate world? Which is that Indian company in the FMCG sector which has a turnover of 1 lakh crore? There was a dairy company called Polson. Polson used to buy milk from the villagers and they used to get exploited very poorly. In the world, cooperative movements have not succeeded, but a group of poor farmers in Gujarat decided to start a cooperative and the Indian government put Varghese Kurian there to lead them. And it goes on to become the world's largest dairy cooperative, and it created in India what is called as the White Revolution. One lakh crore cooperative, which means the chairman does not have super fancy salaries. What would be the chances of success when they started? So the problem in our life is not whether we are meant to succeed or not. The issue of our life is, am I willing to put the required effort? The world says something has 5% chance or 2% chance or 1% chance, thinking about the quantum of effort which is required. Time and again, history has shown when I'm willing to approach something with a very beautiful mindset, I will create results That the world sees as stunning. Today's session is something on those lines. Me and Betu have been deliberating for the last almost two weeks now, and if we have to create one session which can become the turning point in the life of all the volunteers of KMM and the students. What could it be? You know, after every session, this is what we talk. So tomorrow again, else we'll speak. If we have to create another session which is as powerful as that, what should be done? I personally believe, and this is what I was telling to Betu day before yesterday, that Betu, this might be the best session ever. Now, if the volunteers feel this session, if they can mirror their session with some of the goals that they had, and if they dare to go for something which has less than 5% chance of success, and if they say, I will do whatever it takes, and they go inside the classroom with that spirit, We will create some world-class people because of this session. For the last few days, Betu has been wanting to just soak in and seep in this session into her system, and I'm waiting with excitement to see what she has for all of us.
Betu.
Over to you.
Thank you so much, Poppy. Happy morning.
Happy morning.
Happy morning.
Morning.
Morning. Morning. Morning. Morning. Morning. तो at least four slides वीडियो ऑन तो चाहिए चाहिए मतलब जितने लोगे वीडियो ऑन चाहिए please on your videos. And show me that lovely smile of yours, which makes me take the session with even more excitement. Yeah, very good. Now that most of us are here, थोड़ा loosen out करते हैं। Shake your hands. चिलाना चाहिए घर में लोग आके बोलना चाहिए सेशन ले रहे हैं क्या कर रहे हैं चलो ठीक है अभी remember the parade clap one two three one two three one two three वो तीन बार repeat करेंगे when I when I say three two one वो okay let's start three two one one two three one two three one two three one more time one two three एक और बार सबसे लास्ट, ओके सबसे लास्ट। You're so sweet। So before we hit on to the session, let me tell you I am super super excited because last दस दिन से ना यहाँ पे Star of the Future का तैयारी चल रहा है। Somewhere around the fourth, fifth session, star of the future is announced. And then you know this office of mine becomes full excitement because You can see Tahera on the phone full day only convincing parents And then they ask Mercedes Benz? So sometimes even the parents want to sit it. So it's a beautiful experience. This year we have 45 students qualifying. That's the highest that we've ever, ever done. Last year we closed at 37, and this year it's 45. I think all of us must give us ourselves a pat on the back. Wonderful work! And I think the way the kids are also excited. एक बहुत funny call हुआ, एक parent mother It was on speaker call. I was listening. Mother is saying, "नहीं हमको नया आना है वो Saturday morning कौन उठके आएगा सुबह 8 बजे वहाँ पे?" So it's so cute. We are looking forward to it. A very beautiful individual called Mr. Sunil Bhandari is coming round from Calcutta and he is going to be the chief guest of the day. Most of us will be involved in the coordination, and let's see what we make of that day. But we are really looking forward to a great time. So thank you one and all for placing Star of the Future brilliantly well, for motivating the students. What do you say? So अभी अपने पास fifth session, sixth session, seventh session है। So let's give our best. How many of y'all? I don't know about the youngsters but I think most of us would have heard that song. Yes. लेकिन बड़ा सैड सा सॉंग है वो हिममालिनी ऐसे चल रही है और रो रही है और फिर राजेश खन्ना एक जगह पे बैठा हुआ है you know that so that song is made in a राग called it's based on the राग called शिवरंजन यहाँ पे कोई संगीत के प्रेमी माविशारद होंगे तो मुझे माफ करना थोड़ा मेरा जितना भी शुद्र नॉलेज है उसके हिसाब से मैं शेयर कर रही हू so it's sung in that rag and that rag ना has been utilized by most music directors सब गोने क्या बिछड़ने के गाने दुखी गाने तड़प तड़प के इस दिल से वो वाले गाने के लिए okay and there were some music directors who said यार ये राग तो अच्छा है लेकिन इसको हमेशा use करके रुलाते क्यों हैं It's actually scientifically used therapeutically, it seems, for to help people to cry and vent out their emotions. So in music therapy, it's also used like that. But मेरे जैसे थोड़े रहते हैं ना थोड़ा out of the box, अलग जाके करने वाले। And you know with the same ragbhot song they did किन्ना सोना तेनु रब ने बनाया दिल कर देखता रहा अभी वो एक में बीट डाल के उसमें थोड़ी रोने को आता है मतलब उसमें हमलोग डांस करते हैं ना so certain times certain things which are very normally used in one direction some people like us at KMM use it differently and make it very peppy and enjoyable so today when I start the session you might say अरे ये तो हमको मालूम है वो आपको राग शिवरंजनी मालूम है सैड टोन में मैं आपको बताऊंगी राग इन किन्ना सोनातेनु वो वाले टोन में तो ध्यान से सुनना अच्छे से सुनना एक-एक सेंटेंस है ना मतलब ये जो पूरा एग्जांपल है ना जो हम रीकैप और ब्रीडिंग के बाद करेंगे यू शुड नो व्हाट टू व्हाट लेंथ्स आई हैव ग so she said तुम KMM वाले थकते नहीं हो क्या? I said ma'am मैंने मैंने इतना session attend किया full of excitement same session वापस लेता हूँ वो पूरे energy के साथ लेता हूँ she sometimes joins anonymously just to see okay and she keeps scanning faces of us कैसे सुन रहे कैसे नहीं hundred percent marks because भाव full attention all the time so she was telling me तो I want to give you the story as it comes from Narain directly. Okay? So the session का टाइटल this time is Zen and the Five Percent Chance. We are not going to do full meditation. It is not meditation का सेशन. Wait and watch. First part of the session as usual is recap and box print. I must tell you, I completed the session, was checking my mail on Sunday afternoon, and I realized I have my research proposal presentation to my college, and if that is the deciding factor whether I will be allowed to continue my PhD or not. And that was on last Monday. सब AVK first minute, fifty minute hour, dull hours because पूरा हफ्ते में use करके congratulations to all your love and support. I have cleared my RAC in the first attempt and now I'm at least fifty percent done for my PhD. So y'all are going to be able to call me Doctor Joe, Doctor J. See यार ना correct ना Doctor J ना Definitely. So when we recap the session, if there is a personal example from any of the sessions that you have implemented, it will be brilliant to mention it for a couple of moments in the class. It authenticates that we are living these sessions that we are taking. And then we move to box breathing. So today, before I take you through Shiv Ranjani in a different tone altogether, Let's do box breathing. Please sit comfortably, hands comfortably resting on your thighs. Those of us who know Nyan Mudra or Lotus Posture, it can be in that as well. Back straight, neck straight. Please close your eyes. Imagine there is a string tied at the base of your neck behind, and as I count five to one, I'm going to pull the string up. So let's straighten our back a little. Settle down, eyes closed. I'm pulling the string from the base of your neck, from behind the base of your neck. Five, four, three.
2, 1.
Now the straightened position. Let's hold it for the 4 rounds, 5 rounds of box breathing. Take in a deep inhalation. Exhale. Inhale excitement. Exhale all the tiredness and pressure that must have built up. One more time, deep inhalation and exhale. Let's begin with box breathing. Breathe in, 1, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4. Breathe out, 2, 3, 4. Hold. 2, 3, 4. Breathe in. 2, 3, 4. Hold. 2, 3, 4. Breathe out. 2, 3, 4. Hold. 2, 3, 4. Breathe in, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4. Breathe out, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4. Breathe in, 2, 3, 4. Hold, 2, 3, 4. Breathe out. 2, 3, 4. Hold. 2, 3, 4. Last time. 2, 3, 4. Hold. 2, 3, 4. Breathe out. 2, 3, 4. 4, and hold. 2, 3, 4. Keeping your eyes closed, you can relax your shoulders. Don't move just yet. Deep inhalation, deep exhalation. 2 more deep breaths. Inhale. 1, 2, 3, 4. Exhale. Inhale. Exhale. Now think of the person you love the most— your child, your wife, spouse, parents. Imagine you're giving them a tight hug with a smile on your face, and let's dedicate this session to this loving person in our life. As I count 5 to 1, very, very gently. 5, your eyes being totally closed. 1, your eyes being totally open. Please open your eyes. Five, four, three, two, and one. All back. Very good. और मुझे रिप्लाई आया, you keep raising the bar. I said I am with Narain बार-बार लगातार फुल डे, and I have that person raising the bar in front of me all the time, so I have no choice but to do that. So with this session, let's raise the bar for the standards we set for KMM. A quick one, and then box breathing. Okay, part two. I will need five-seven minutes of good attention span. There will be certain statements during this entire narration, and I would want you to note down those statements because you know what we hits us becomes our conviction when we deliver that example in the class. So part two, this part has two parts. Part A of it. There was a jungle, Ghana jungle, or jungle में there was a ferocious cunning lion. He was the king of the jungle. And this lion would randomly kill animals. Now the animals got together one day and said, "This cannot go on." I mean, how is it that you know this lion keeps killing and then we keep losing our loved ones? So one elephant, one lomdi, and one cheetah—they come together with a suggestion. So they go for a negotiation. As they're talking to the lion, they say, see we understand you need food, that's why you are killing. And then you don't eat them also. So can we create a system? और लायन है ना, he doesn't trust these people. So saying नहीं, we just want You know everybody to be peaceful because today we don't know which day you will pounce upon us and kill us. So lion says देखो I love to hunt that's my nature but मैं एक चीज कर सकता हूँ रोज अगर आप कोई एक इंसान आके volunteer करे मेरा खाना बनने के लिए तो मुझे कोई problem नहीं है मैं unnecessary killing थोड़ा सा मैं restrict करता हूँ अपने आप को मैं control करूँगा so every day मुझे जो खाना है मेरे घर के पास cave के सामने लाके रख दीजिए मैं खा लूँगा। so these three come back to the entire jungle and say कि देखो यार ऐसे हुआ है discuss एक-एक दिन एक-एक species का chance आएगा और फिर एक दिन एक tiger lion को एक दिन एक deer को भेजेंगे एक दिन एक खरगोश को भेजेंगे एक दिन एक calf को भेजेंगे और फिर at least आज अगर deer गया है तो अगले 20-25 दिन दूसरा वो deer family को तो पता है हमारा chance नहीं आने वाला है तो they can rest in peace So the system is set. One day they send a deer, the lion happily kills it and eats it. He doesn't have to put any effort. Then one calf goes, the lion happily kills it and eats it. Then one horse goes, lion happily kills and eats it. And the jungle is a little peaceful, but there is a little sadness also amongst people. One day it's the chance of this little rabbit. Now that rabbit is thinking to himself, if I die, what will happen of my family? I live in the jungle. So what are the options that I have in front? You become the raja, you'll rule it very well. And instantly he also sees the elephant in his mind replying, फिर वो सोचता है cheetah तो है powerful लेकिन एक approximate of the चीता कितना होता है seventy five केजी approximate हाँ lion का एक full grown male lion का कितना weight होता है approximately one ninety केजी वो अपने सोच रहा है lion ने एक हाथ उठाया एक उसका paw एक जबड़े पे लगाया चीता के चीता के गर्दन टूट जाएगी and the चीता will say this is your war this is not my war I am not fighting it जाओ So many times it happens that mummy papa I want to go out for a movie with my friends and mummy will say What is the lion's weakness? The lion's weakness is his ego. We all know that the lion or a species of this kind, they are very possessive about their territory. So he comes up with an idea he says ये बराबर है ये idea में ना सिर्फ five percent chance है लेकिन zero percent से तो better है ना zero percent जाके lunch बन जाओ five percent chance करके देखते and then he starts plotting and scheme that day he goes late ग्यारह बज गया बारह बज गया दोपहर हो गई चार बज गया lion अपने cave में आरे झारे मार रहा है, वो सोच रहा है, ये जंगल वाले ना बदल गए, प्रॉमिस करके इन्होंने ज़बान दे दी थी, मुकर गया, अब मैं इनको मज़ा चुकाऊँगा, कौन आया था वो? So that rabbit walks in late, he's shivering, trembling, So the lion looks at him shivering and What will you think? What does happen? The lion gets ferocious। So the rabbit says, "चलिए सर," he leads the way. Now this smart rabbit takes him to a very deep part of the jungle. There is a water pond there, and at one part of the water pond, it's quite deep as well. He takes the lion there and he says, "वो उसका घर है." The lion looks down into the pond. What does he see? His own reflection. He roars. The reflection roars back. This irritates the lion even more. He says, "Now I'm going to kill you," and he jumps in the pond. What the lion in his anger did not remember is that part of the land pond had a dal dal. Moment the lion jumps in, he's caught. He struggles to come out. He realizes his folly. But in a few seconds, the dal dal soaks away the lion. The lion is no more, and the jungle is a peaceful place to stay. All the animals from the jungle then gather around the pond. They say, "ये इतना सा छोटा सा animal has defeated the biggest and the mightiest of lion using his five percent chance." They all are very excited, and they start doing hip hip hooray for the rabbit. Can all of us do hip hip hooray? Great. This is how we involve the class. This is the story we all know. Sometimes in life there will be situations which will be like this. Hungry lion in front of us. We are going to go through it. The hungry lion is going to stand in front of us, and that hungry lion may be a difficult person. It may be a difficult situation, or it may be a problem which may look much much bigger than us in life. Self doubt is evident. It's natural. But there is also a possibility of possibility thinking. Possibility thinking. There will be the lion. He will be more powerful. He will have more strength. But I also have the intelligence to think about what can be the weakness. And take care of that weakness to come out of that situation. The rabbit knew he can't win the war with strength. He can't run away, but he can attack the weakness of the lion. In difficult situations, there may be chances that we cannot run away from it. Giving up Is a natural, obvious response. But we are not obvious people. We are people who carve a path, and we are people who do possibility thinking to get that 5% chance. And in that 5% chance, we might do something out of the box like the rabbit did and come up with a solution. So in day-to-day life, how do we do possibility thinking? Do you want to know? All of you? चलो let's come to it. So part two of our session gets over here, where we tell this entire story. It will need a little preparation, more energy because the students already know the story. If you want, you can give the Shivranjani rag example to start off with, or a color palette painting all of us does do. So yellow and blue Yellow and blue का combination green green green होता है right? But अगर मुझे more pink ही color बनाना है, which is not exactly green also bluish green. Then I might have to do few more trials and errors, isn't it? So I can introduce that today from what we learn, we are going to make this different color altogether and then narrate the story so that we have the attention of the students. देखिए part one और part two कितना easy है. Twenty minutes is done for y'all. Congratulations! Pat yourself on the back. Lovely, lovely. Let's come to part three. ठीक है चलिए ये book है ना आप लीजिए अभी and hold it very close to your eyes मतलब है ना ये elbows bent होने चाहिए थोड़ा एकदम आँख सामने रण, hold कीजिए। और slowly slowly मैं ten to one count करती हूँ। Let's stretch your hands out so that the book goes absolutely away. Now catching the book. Have a look around. Okay. Now again hold the book to your eyes. Can you see the entire view what you saw? Now stretch your hands out. Now can you look around and see the room around you? Absolutely. Thank you. Thank you so much. In life, sometimes the situations which are difficult— the hungry lion is too close to our face and we are not able to see anything around. It becomes like a wall. When I face the wall, I may have certain options. I bang my head on the wall. I want to pass through, move out of. What happens when I do that? I bang my head, the wall will break, but ninety percent of the times my head breaks. So the first obvious response is bang my head on the wall and hurt myself. The second obvious response is I feel dejected, turn around and give up. In this situation, I need to practice zen for possibility thinking. I need to practice zen for possibility thinking. And zen is what? Not box breathing, not meditation. Write down Z dash, and the word is zoom out. The word is zoom out. Now what do we mean by zoom out? When I'm faced with the wall which is so close I may not see a solution, but if it goes a little far away from me, like the book, then I might see certain things around. If I take a few steps back, just a few steps back, I might be able to see the width and the length of the wall, the height of the wall. And possibilities are I might realize I can either go around the wall and reach my destination It might take a little effort, but that's a chance. I might gather momentum, run, and attempt to jump over the wall. I might throw a stone and make a door through the wall, or I might even dig below the wall and have a tunnel to go through the— from below the wall. The wall doesn't become a stop for me. The wall just becomes a traffic signal. I have to wait, come a little behind, Understand what are my options and go ahead. So I zoom out. That's point number one. Point number two is E, that is explore. Explore what are the possibilities. So the rabbit took a little time to zoom out and say. What is the situation? The lion is huge. It has a strength. I cannot defeat him with power. I have to defeat his weakness. Now he explored the possibilities. Take him to a place where he kills him own self? Possibility work out. Sometimes when we explore, the first answer is the obvious answer and may not be the best solution. I need to explore a little more. What else can be done? What is another way? And can I think something out of the box? That's exactly what the rabbit did— something out of the box which was not obviously thought of. So my exploration doesn't stop at point one, point two, but look at least for three possibilities. And the last word N that is navigate. The most important. Navigate. N A V I G A T E. What do I mean by navigate? रैबिट को सल्यूशन मिल गया है, कितना भी डर लगे उसको, he has to go and attempt it. Sitting in his house, he cannot kill the lion. So I move about, go experiment. If it doesn't work out, think of more possibilities, experiment, and the process continues. Whatever solution I find, I navigate myself through it. So what is my zen of possibility thinking? It's a possibility thinking tool. What is possibility thinking? What are many more options that are available to us? And in that, Z is zoom out, E is explore for possibilities— don't stop at one, take at least 3— N is for navigate. Zoom out, explore, navigate. Because only when we do this We'll be able to see that little 5% chance that is there, and then I grab that 5%, and that might be my jackpot. All good? This is part A of 3. Let's come to part B. This is where the sharings from the class is going to start. So we're going to share three situations, and we are going to ask the students for weak responses and possibility thinking. So let's all of us move into the shoes of the students right now, and let's think and answer from the students' perspective. So what I will do is I'll tell you a situation. You write down the situation. Each one of us will note at least three negative responses, and what are the three possibilities? Now, as we are thinking through the session, if we write one, two, three, then when we take it inside the classroom, we say explore at least three. Don't stop at one. It will come out with conviction. Okay? So let's do the first part. Let's experiment and let's practice then. Scenario one. Scenario one. The scenario is marks. Our marks. I'm a very good student. I've studied really hard. I generally get between 85 to 90, and I am expecting that much to come. When I get my final results, I realize I've scored only 78%. Somebody who's expecting 90 gets only 78%. This is the situation. I want you to write down at least three weak responses and three possibilities of a good response to this situation where I come out victorious. What will those be? It actually happened in my school in tenth standard. There was a girl called Anju Mandal, Bengali. She was even. She was only four feet tall, but what brains! I got eighty nine, she got eighty seven. It was not devastating for her. It was devastating for all of us. We started crying. Of course later on she did whatever she had to do. But that half an hour was Very difficult for us. The times may be some very brilliant students might end up with this kind of marks. Metaphorically, others also don't get the marks they want. So what are the normal obvious responses, and what is the possibility thinking that they do? चलिए, can can we have some sharings? I want to listen to two three normal obvious responses. You can raise your hands. I'll call out your name and then you can unmute and speak. This is nice. All of us are sincerely doing the exercise. Let's take a couple of minutes. One minute at least.
I thought you wanted all the three.
ठीक है, it's okay. Carry on carry on carry on.
मेरा incomplete cycle रहेगा नहीं तो ये teacher ना बहुत strict होगा मुझे ये strict teacher मिला correct correct कर भी must be very tired खाली अभी job complete करना फटाफट complete करो और ख़तम करो काम absolutely absolutely पद्मिनी good morning जो happy morning the first thing will come thank you first thing will come this is not possible there must be some technical error And the possibility is get it rechecked. Absolutely. Of course, there is denial, blame, unfairness. People are mistaken. Brilliant. Any novel obvious response that come to your mind मतलब out of the box negative response also? तो some may avoid the subject. Happy morning. I think possibility thinking maybe like my method of work was not proper. I work on it. More practice is required, and directly next time I'll do better than this. चलो very good, Vijay.
Happy morning. So yeah, the possible thing is this is not my last exam. Correct. Capable last time also. So I'll explore the things where things got wrong, where my preparation has been failed, where I was distracted. Correct. So this can be the possible thinking. Absolutely.
Sunita? Yeah, happy morning. Happy morning. Uh, so yeah, I think it's okay. I'll try hard next time. It's not the end of the world. And I know where I faltered this time. Absolutely. Very nice. Aditya? Acceptance that yes, I went somewhere wrong and until improved. Yeah, acceptance where I went wrong. Wow, lovely. I don't know who this is. It's coming as Zoom user. So if you can just type your name. But what is the next ball? That's also brilliant. Very nice. What is the next ball? Anju, I'll try to reach out to the teacher and check where my mistakes are and look for recommendations for improvement. Absolutely, absolutely. So you know some possibility thinking in this situation would be you know ask the teacher exactly where I lost my marks. See my paper where I've made a mistake. Check whether the paper the problem was in me understanding the subject or writing the paper or managing my time. We have done मामू में दम है। Find my AVK and apply the AVK. Probably do a small test with my group to find out did I actually make the mistake, or ask a friend what do you do differently who's gotten good marks. There can be so many possibility thinkings over here. I know my strengths brilliantly well. So when the students share and say the weak responses and the possibility thinking, let's get the answer sheets and review. Very nice. So you are moving from absolutely being dejected to finding a solution. Because the reality is setbacks are just information. They should not become our identity. I repeat, setbacks in any part of life are just information. I am bad at this. That is making the identity that should not happen. 78% may be a result. 78% is not me. The question here is generally, why did I get 78%? The question should be, what is the 78% attempting to tell me? And then I might find a solution for myself. So I have to beat the hungry lion, not by feeling helpless, but by understanding what went wrong, where it went wrong, and then devise a plan to make it better. Shall we move to the next scenario? Most of them. Will have lots of friends, and if you don't know this amongst the youngsters, if somebody is upset with you, and if you say, "Hey, चलो let's go for a party." So if I tell Tahira, "चलो let's go for a party," she will not reply okay to me. She'll just reply K. That's the trend, okay? And if K comes, then these youngsters know कुछ तो problem है बस. And then if you have a friend who's replying to you with a K. Your best friend not talking to you, not involving you. You're calling them for a party. They are not coming. You're saying, "Let's do group studies." They are not responding. You know something is not okay. In this situation, what are the weak responses and what are the possibility things? How do we get out? So weak response क्या होगा और how can we handle the situation? थोड़ा मुझे है ना क्रिएटिव आइडियाज दीजिए, because this is a very burning topic with the youngsters. And in the class we should be able to summarize and give them some very unique, nice, novel ideas to come out of the situation. And I'm going to choose my people this time to answer. Have I failed in some way? Did I do something to hurt them? Absolutely. Yes राजेश जी, good good. Let the matter take rest। चले, very nice। Thank you। Thank you। मैं अभी आपका ढूंढ रही थी टाइलर आपने हैंड रेस ये इसको बोलते हैं प्यार प्यार प्यार जी बोलिए जाने दो अभी उसको करने दो खराब जो भी कुछ करना है भाभी उसको मेरे जैसा अच्छा काम नहीं करना है तो ठीक है अभी उसकी उसका नसीब absolutely some will say भाव काता है अर्जुन is saying he does not know what he is losing let him be let him be miserable ओके इसका हमेशा का ड्रामा चालू हो गया है वेरी गुड कल पूछूँगी आई विल स्टार्ट रिकलेक्टिंग ऑल द रोंग थिंग्स आईव एक्सपीरियंस्ड ओके वेरी नाइस आने दीजिए इस ज़ूम यूज़र कौन है आपका नाम बताइए ना प्लीज अनम्यूट करके बता दीजिए ओह मोहन जी ओके ओके ओके ओके ओके ओके चलिए ये सेम चीज है ना मेरे साथ मेरे इंटरव्यू में हुई थी कैन यू इमेजिन आई ज्वाइन द लिंक आई डोंट नो इफ यू ज्वाइन द ज़ूम लिंक यू कैन't चेंज योर नेम आई एम इन द मीटिंग फॉर हाफ एन आर देयर सर्चिंग माय प्रोफेसर इस कॉलिंग मी वेर आर यू आई सेड मैम आई एम इन द मीटिंग और एक सेक so तब five percent chance को मैंने hold किया था and I passed through that exam so this session that I'm taking ना is only my life example in the past one week चलिए possibility thinking क्या होगा when friends don't talk आदि आदित्य सराया so for me it would be something like इसको आज जरा या तो coffee पिलानी पड़ेगी या तो table पे बिठाने पड़ेंगे जी अब तेरी आवाज़ नहीं आ रही है थोड़ा सॉफ्ट है। आवाज़ हेलो हाँ so for me it would be something like इसको आज कॉफी पिलानी पड़ेगी या तो टेबल पे बिठाना पड़ेगा you need to have a conversation something like round table conference चलेगा next time तू मेरा फोन avoid करेगा तो I know what to do Good, good, good. Roundtable conference. Very good, very good. Yes, Vijay.
So it can teach me to be patient and to handle relationship nicely. What I've been somewhere wrong with him, so that is causing.
Handle it with patience. Yes, Siona. Must be you. मैंने कुछ wrong किया होगा बोलो speaking from personal experience if it is like a pattern where they've been doing this you can just say जान छुटी लाखों पाए and just move on चलो very good very good जान छुटी लाखों पाए good good रशीदा मेरे से क्या गलती हो गई introspect absolutely absolutely Most times, now when these friends don't listen to him or her once, most time when they have these issues in friendships, now the one who is suffering now starts getting a little desperate. Here when we are doing possibility thinking, we'll have to say that sometimes the way through a friendship का problem is only a simple conversation. Maybe she is going through something, so you May need to give her some space. Absolutely. Here we need to emphasize that don't become desperate. I mean, yeah, they are your good friends, but we don't have to become rats in that situation. Shanti, patience, and we'll find a way. Maybe right now we have to give them some space. Ask a mutual friend to find out what's happening. Ask them directly through a conversation. Sometimes, you know, they don't want to talk, so give them time and let it be. We don't have to solve it immediately. So when we are taking this friendship one, I think we must emphasize that don't get desperate in friendships. Give it some space, give it some time, it will sort out. Friends are very, very important to them, and sometimes them not having good friends becomes their identity. I don't have the ability to have great friends. And that is devastating. I remember in my 11th and 12th, I went to FC College fighting my entire family. They said it was too far, you shouldn't go there. And I realized my best friend for whom I went to college refused to talk to me because she had another group. And all of 11th and 12th, I went into such a shell that I would sit alone on the last bench, not talk to anyone. I allowed it to become my identity. And then it took me a couple of years to come out of it. I have been a person who's totally social, mingles, everything, but those 2 years I suffered. And I should not let somebody not talking to me become my identity. So I will find a way out. It might need a little patience, but it will not make me feel bad about myself. If I'm wrong, I'll correct it. But I will not get desperate in this situation. So I come back to the result is just— a setback is just information. I need to find a way it should not become my identity. Let's go to the 3rd scenario. This is the last scenario. We're taking only 3 so that it gives us enough scope for having a lot of sharings in the classroom. And the third scenario is my family has assumed I'm going to take certain path of my career, maybe engineering, maybe go for medicine or something very, very safe, and I want to do something which is totally different. Now in this situation, I have to start talking to my parents about it, and they are not Even attempting to listen to what I have to say. What will be the weak reactions and what will be the possibility? Sometimes I may be even scared to remove the topic in the house because I know it's going to blow off. This is weak thinking or possibility thinking? Weak and possibility both. Okay, Bharti. Skipping, skipping to talk. Basically, it's more on the weak side. Absolutely, absolutely. I'm avoiding the conversation. Yeah, Bharti. Um, I will talk to my parents. Try to convince them. In case they don't listen, They don't know the world. They don't know what are the possibilities. Absolutely. So this is a response, but it will be more on the negative side because you are kind of biddowing with. So this is the negative response, right? Correct. And the possibility is That I have my father who is very understanding. I have my elder brother who is very understanding. I have my bhabi who understands me personally. So I will try to convince all of these three and then go to my mother, ताकि I get a support system and may somehow navigate the conversation and try to convince the mother. Absolutely. Runal? So in last session, I actually shared this example with kids, and that is my own son's example. He was very good in maths. He was always repairing some or the other thing. So we thought he is an engineer and he will should go for engineering. And, uh, that's what he also might have thought in 10th. By the mid of 12th, he started thinking something else. And one day was having his dinner and he, he have tears in his eyes. So I said Is it spicy or what? Why, why the tears are there? And he said, I don't go for engineering and I want to do career in mountaineering. That's okay. Wow. That's what that, uh, situation is. So I remember, and obviously I told it to the kids in last session, That he put it in this way. So we started thinking then what's next? Absolutely, absolutely. Thank you. Thanks, thanks. I will find what is stopping them to support me. Okay, weak response. I accept. I'm just reading from the chats. I wish. I accept your wish and I'll do as you say. And possibility is get I get my some time to prove myself. Okay. Let me understand their point of view. Brilliant. Yes, Hetal. Ah yeah, I just wanted to. Ah यानी मुझे ये बोलना है मेरे मेरा nephew है ना वो NIT का NEET का exam दिया था उसने अभी and he wanted to become a surgeon. Okay. तो उसके marks इतने नहीं आए तो then मेरे भाई और भाभी ने बोला कि यार Ayurvedic का कर ले that is Also good one. He don't wanted to do the Ayurvedic. तो I wanted to become a dentist. Hmm. बोला then he tried to convince उसके लिए बहुत time लगा। Then अभी the common decision is he wanted to become a dentist and he is trying for that. And my brother and Babi are convinced to yeah. Wonderful, wonderful. So this is a situation most students will definitely go through. Some of them will end up thinking they'll never understand me, or I will be forced to do whatever is there. See, you know, just let me complete this. I'll come to you. Okay? Sometimes, you know, like I used to so often think with my father. There's no point of talking. I used to go silent. Or sometimes, like Bharti said, there is a fight head-on. I know what I have to do. I don't care about you. I'm going to go and do it. See you now. Yeah, I wanted to add to our situation because this is also what happened with me and my like mama also. So I मतलब most of it from was from my side कि oh should I like pursue something which is like typical like let something science is Should I become an interior designer or an architect? Because my parents do the same. But then I wanted to do film production then, and my mom was like, "It is a very dicey field to be in. There's a lot of like time and investment that takes goes in." But if you really, I mean, touch wood, I'm fortunate that she wanted to at least hear my side out. So what she told is that I will listen to you if you make like a plan as to what will be your career options, how will you earn? What side incomes will you have? Because obviously income is also very important here along with talent. So I did all of that and then we weighed all my options. So it was either marketing or film production. And then I told her like whatever position I wanted to be, like screenwriter, creative producer. And then she said, then yeah, go for it. So that's also there. So like practically planning and then approaching your parents. Also work so that— because at the end of the day, they also want the best for us, that they also want us to succeed.
Yeah, absolutely.
So let me start off with possibility thinking with, you know, what Siona said— our parents want the best out of us. We may not be thinking on the same grounds, but the reality remains that they want the best out of us. That is the first possibility thinking pointer that has to come to our mind. Then what are the different things that I can do, summarizing what everybody is saying? Probably, you know, build a small proof to show that I'm interested in. Like if I like, if I say I want to get into professional cricket, and then if my mother has to, you know, pick up the bat itself every day and hit me to send me for practice, then there is proof that But if I simply make a small proof, I'm very dedicated to what I want to do. Fine, participate in some competitions, get the marks that I have to. I have to build proof to show my parents that what I am wanting to do is out of my sincerity. Sometimes when they don't agree to our career choice, it's not that they're against us. The question is about my sincerity to follow that path to the end. That is the doubt that they are having, and if we address that, then possibilities are high we come on the same grounds. You know, things like I might find somebody who's really successful at doing what I'm doing and say, "Okay, चलो they are proven themselves. Let me also do that." I remember when I wanted to work with Life School at least for five six years, my father refused to even look at my face. He used to be like this if I'm talking. He won't even turn around and look at me because he thought I was making a very very big mistake of my life. And one fine day, I sat with him and I asked him, "What do you think?" You know, will make me really successful. He said, "Get out of here. I don't want to talk to you." When I bought my first flat, when I was twenty-four, I bought my first flat. That day, my father thought I have some sense in my upper region over here. So the way to convince my father that I was capable was buying a property. It took a little time for me to understand, and after that day, he never questioned my choice of career. So, I also need to find out what their concern is and address that concern, and then we will be on the same grounds. As for a trial period, why, you know, just engineering? Can there be combinations? Engineering, entrepreneurship together, business, sports— there can be multiple options. But first, I have to open my mind. My parents are not against me. It's not my way or their way or a fight. There is always a third way. It's not my way or their way or a fight. There is always a third way, and that third way starts with a very neutral conversation which I have to take. I have to take that 5% chance because I want a great career and I also want a great relationship with my family members. In every situation, the hungry lion is going to stand there Roaring at me. My responsibility is to find that five percent chance, and to help me find that five percent chance, a very simple tool of possibility thinking is zen. Zoom out, find at least three possibilities, and then navigate. Talking to my parents is navigating. If I don't take the effort to navigate, Navigation is very very important. And then the world waits with open arms to give us what we want from life. Here we end the third part of the session. In the third part, let me summarize. We started with the book example. सामने लीजिए, दूर लीजिए, see the entire view. When the wall comes, take a few steps back. Above the wall, around the wall, beneath the wall. Then we discuss zen, zoom out, explore, navigate. In all three, we refer back to the rabbit and say. He zoomed out, saw the three possibilities, then navigated. He took that five percent chance. That lion could have said fake I'm going to eat you and kill you. That also is a possibility. And then to take the lion to think अगर lion को कुछ doubt आया तो be a little prepared. Winning in life, like win before you begin we discussed last year, is about practice and also about applying some little common sense with the help of Zen. But navigating is a must. I cannot stop there. So this is the third part of our session. Simple. All, all well. Then we move to the fourth part, which is the closing part. This also has 2 sections. One section is a personal example. Now, why this session is the most, most favorite of mine, and it's, I think, the first time in so many years I have put a message one day before the session saying that the session is very close to my heart. I have been blessed to see people around me taking that 5% chance and actually winning over situations. I've spoken enough number of times about Naren, We all know about him taking that five percent time chance so many, many times. Him attempting to do comrade at his stage of life, and when he comes back from his run, I think Bharti at home and we at office see how his physical state is. And last evening I was attempting to tell him, "मज़ा होना चार किलोमीटर के लिए," and he said, "नहीं, जाना तो है।" Doesn't leave that five percent to anything. One of our most dearest members of Life School family, who stood a living example day in and day out to taking that five percent chance and possibility thinking. I can't say was, but is our beloved Tyre Bhai. We began Keep Moving Movement with him in 2001. He used to so lovingly say that, you know, my my name spells T A H E R, and if you rearrange it, it becomes heart. And he was all heart. When we began the first session of KMM, it was on 20th January 2001. We wanted thousand teachers in Balgandarva, and I remember this man taking the form and driving all the way up to Ranjangao because Ranjangao make. He goes, sits there, convinces. A full bus comes with teachers from there for that one program. Five percent chance possibility thinking. We were having Anurima Sinha's program in Ganesh Kalakrida Manch and that time was this. भागवत सप्ताह that was happening by one of the missions. They had their board put up there, and we could not have a program where we have a religious board put up. It would we didn't want to upheaval any sentiments anywhere. And one night before tomorrow morning is the program. One night before we are all sitting the group who's arranging and saying so the authorities are saying हम इनसे नहीं भिड़ सकते मतलब उन्होंने पूरा पूरा दिन सिर्फ आपको दो घंटे दिया आपके प्रोग्राम के लिए बाकि तो उनका ही बुकिंग है ten thirty in the night tyre boy forces himself walks very lovingly into the room of the head of that mission talks to him eleven thirty in the night they lower their board and के अपना लाइफ स्कूल का बोर्ड ऊपर जाके अनुदिनवासी नाका प्रोग्राम And the next day that board comes down. Doesn't give up at all. Possibility thinking. I know he was working with one of the builders. That builders was building some two lakh square feet. They needed some fitting which was some particular size to for the light bulb. And if they went to buy that from the market, they would have spent crores. What this gentleman did was, soft He takes that to a workshop, cuts it from both sides, finishes, does the finishing of the edges, goes and fits it. Something that would have costed crores to the builder comes down to lakhs with his genius thinking, possibility thinking, five percent chance, doesn't give up at all. And I have been blessed to be very, very close to Tahir bhai. We lost him a few days back. I think God wants possibility thinking in his arena, so he's called him back. To me, I am dedicating this session to Tahir bhai. Wherever you are. But that's why this session is very important. If a child thinks possibility thinking or five percent chance मेरे हाथ में जो कोई भी सिचुएशन आया हम उसको लड़ सकते हैं, but उसने वो बिलीव करना चाहिए। And in this place, the first part of the fourth section of the session is give a five example where you have taken that five percent chance. I would really like you to think for a couple of minutes. Do you have a situation in your life where you've taken that five percent chance? I have discussed about Sapare Vedare the last year in the KMM session, and you should know if Joe is leading a team in a fraternity like KMM, she is expected to win everything. I mean, that was the situation in 2015. First competition paper presentation we lost badly fourth. Second competition lost badly fourth. Third competition we came only third there. And we were the last. Nobody gave us a chance, and we were like that outcast Afghanistan team in IPL probably, who nobody is giving a chance to. I've always gotten first prize when I stand to do public speak. From the first competition Narain took, I think We had the first public speaking competition there. I got the first prize. After that not look back. And the last competition in सापरे वधने was public speaking. Three topics, five participants, first, second, third, fourth, fifth prize. That was our five percent chance. The team held on to it first, second, third. In all three competitions we won and changed the tables the last day of the competition. So much so that there was. I also didn't believe that we won it when the name was announced. Now I just kept sitting over there. नहीं possibly नहीं है कुछ तो mistake हो गया है and they had to lift me and take me to the stage because I was so much in shock. And at the age of thirty five, I told myself, I can stand first and that's my only that's my only space. It's not a competition with others, but in my own game, I'm going to be first always. And I've not looked back after that experience. LSE was a five percent chance for me. Third thing is applied to Harvard, Stanford because of my financial paperwork I was not accepted there. My financial paperwork was too weak. I got some good universities Purdue, Michigan. Pennsylvania, and there this guy called Mayur Palod, ever grateful to him. He called up and said, "जो आप लोग KMM करते हो ना, I think you should go to LSE." And I told him, "LSE मैं वो कहाँ है? वो मेका है politics का. मेरे को चांस ही नहीं पड़ेगा. And he said, 'आप apply करो.' Reluctantly I applied. I still remember 30th, 29th of April we had A light school event at Chinmaya Mission in Mulshi. First was a Sunday. I never open my mail on Sundays. That morning I opened my mail, and first May 2009, I received my LSE acceptance. Five percent chance, and I didn't give it up. Thanks to Palod who was there as a support for me. That is the only day Narain called me seven times in ten minutes. He's saying, "तेरे को सच में मिल गया? रख दिया। सच में मिल गया? रख दिया।" Last me I said, "I'm forwarding the mail to you. Please read it." मिल गया। And LSE is another five percent that I grabbed, and I'm so proud of not myself, but the fact that I didn't give up in that. I am very sure each one of us has done that 5% grabbing. This is our time to explain to the students with our living examples. It's possible, and please do it. I have about 2-3 minutes in case a couple of you want to share about your 5% that you grabbed and turned around tables. We would love to listen to you. And if it is a little too sudden for you right now, I think in your AC meetings this is going to be the most, most important sharing. When I was reflecting— yes, Bharti, I'll come to you— when I was reflecting as I did the session, I thought of many examples, and what it did to me was Reinstate the fact, 20 लाख बच्चे करने हैं। कुछ भी हो जाए, 2030 December 31st हमलोग KMM में 20 लाख बच्चे touch करेंगे और as a full group touch करेंगे। वो five percent chance रहने दो, possibility रहने दो करेंगे। This is not we are not going to give up on that. So thank you so much for walking on this path. And I think everywhere now I'm going to put posters, 5% chance, 5% chance, 5% chance. Yes, Bharti. I agree to you, Joe, completely about Tyre Bhai. It's been a beautiful relationship with him, and I'm sure I'll miss him in every rakhi. And the second part is when I got an opportunity to work in an IB school, I did not have an email ID. I did not know how to answer, how to respond, how to use the digital, because it was everything for the first time. So 5% of chances success was there, and that 6 months, uh, probation period— that word also I learned that time when I had signed the contract. That they will keep checking my teaching. So I had that six months time only to learn completely how to use the laptop, how to make email ID, how to answer, how to portray the image, change the visual art teaching completely. It was not copy paste; it was explanation structure. Sure. So I think I did it. I did it brilliantly well, and I really tapped that I'm still learning. That's how I'm able to take my online classes. Still struggling with my online classes, but not giving up. More love to you and more power to you, Bharti. Anybody else before we move on? I know the simplicity of the session is quite— it's quite simple. But when you want to sit and think about the 5% chance, that's where, you know, it's going to take a little deep searching. And that's the scope of therapeutic development for each one of us. I'll listen to Mrunal Kanchan, and then we'll move ahead. Yes, Mrunal. There was a time where we can buy one two-wheeler, and my husband wanted a motorcycle. And my job, uh, demands traveling on two-wheeler. I was not, uh, used to ride a two-wheeler. Sorry, I was used to ride a two-wheeler but not a motorcycle.
Hmm.
And we went to buy a vehicle. Wherein, uh, the salesgirl, I think she, uh, listened to my husband's heart and she said, why don't you ride a motorcycle? I said, I never, uh, ride a motorcycle. So she said, try it. And that was a 5% chance where I may buy motorcycle and, uh, ride it for my job. and I so that was my five percent lovely thank you अभी भी चलाते हो मोटरबाइक मोटरबाइक अभी नहीं चलाती हूँ वो बेच दी मैंने हाँ simple two wheeler है good good good lovely chefi is writing moving to USA Arnab getting into pen KMM in Oma definitely chefi KMM in Oma is that five percent grabbing very proud of you for that Very proud of you for so well establishing yourself in the U.S. Arnav Ka, I think I'll give him the five percent का credit. Okay? I'm sorry, but Kanchan? So, Joe talking about five percent chance in my life. I had no business background when I got married. I was just twenty years old. And starting step up kids is less than five percent chance for me because मेरा कोई business background या attitude वैसा नहीं है कोई formal education नहीं था basic graduation वो भी छोटे गांव से और मराठी medium से और पुणा में preschool in English medium मतलब वो शुरू करना मेरे लिए out of the box था तो I was requesting few members in my family कि you join me You be front face, आप counselling करना parents को and I'll handle everything because I love kids. I can manage everything but language is a barrier for me. However, वो कोई help नहीं मिली but I took that five percent chance and it was really great decision of my life. I could expand really well and I मतलब मैं उतना अच्छे से successful हो पाई last twenty two years I am in this field. तो मुझे लगता है कि वो five percent less than five percent chance अगर मैंने लिया नहीं होता तो आज step up kids या मेरी जो भी purpose जो भी मेरा purpose है life का वो मैं achieve नहीं कर पाती। Thank you. And last year you took the five percent chance of taking the session in English. Thanks. And excelled at it. Yes. There was a time you know when we used to tell people और यहाँ पे हमको एक इंग्लिश स्पीकर चाहिए था अन कंचन कंचन you do it so brilliantly well ya and she owns the stage when she stands to anchor love you कंचन love you dear love you thank you राजेश जो सबसे पहले मैं आपको appreciate करूँगा you have a greatness in yourself और दूसरी बात मैं एक ऐसे व्यक्ति को जानता हूँ जो स्टैमर करता था और जिसने 2000 से ज़्यादा स्पीच दिया क्योंकि नरेंद्र सर भी कहते हैं कि करेज इज़ नॉट एब्सेंस ऑफ़ फ़ियर करेज इज़ टेकिंग एक्शन इन स्पाइट ऑफ़ फ़ियर एब्सल्युटली और उस व्यक्ति और उस व्यक्ति ने लगभग तीस और वो नौ लोगों से उसकी पार्टनरशिप अंडिस्प्यूटेड रही, लॉस प्रॉफिट अपनी जगह पर है। तो we are grateful to all of you। Thank you Rajesh, thank you, thank you, thank you। हम we'll listen to Vijay and then we will move on to।
मगर उसने कहा करो तो सही, because he knew me personally। I got an admission. I went to my foreign trip for the first time in 1978, Wonderful, lovely, and it's very special that Vijay is sharing right now, and I must tell you why.
He joined us in KMM when COVID times hit. There were quite a few sessions that we took online. Then in Delhi, we could have a few schools, and then there was a time when we could not take a school in Delhi at all. So much is his love for Keep Moving Movement. He travels a lot to different organizations and schools, and he's been conducting KMM sessions in every opportunity that he gets. Rajesh Tekrivalji and Vijayji, both of you, thank you so much. so this session is also to Rajesh Tekniwal because I know how much you love to spread and to you Vijay so thank you so much for KMM both of you are living examples of that five percent। You know, as as he said Absolutely I I think I'm learning for myself more than telling the kids Yes Thank you And may you keep learning and keep enlightening as many kids as you come across Love you so much Rajesh ji to you also Love you so so much Let's move to the last part of the session, and let me introduce you to a very lovely lady for whom the wall that stood in front of her was very, very huge. You must have read about her. You must have seen her, and her name is Manu Bhatt. In Tokyo Olympics 2020, she participated for the first time for shooting. During the women's 10-meter pistol qualification, her pistol malfunctions. The cocking lever of her pistol just breaks off. She's done only 16 shots. She has left with 17 minutes and The ticker doesn't stop, qualification time limit doesn't stop where malfunction of the instrument happens. So she has to do 44 shots in 38 minutes. Imagine the whole world is watching, her country is watching her live on television. She's attempting for the first time, the pistol malfunctions. She knows she's going to definitely lose, and that's what happens. Her rhythm is gone. She can't take the final shots properly, and she loses that one brilliant chance that might have made her career altogether. She had a few options. It's over. She might have gone into that loop. Or my luck is so bad. And you know she came. Very close to giving up. After coming from Tokyo 2020, she didn't touch her pistol for 25 days. She said it's over. In that time, she was taking a holiday in Kerala. And generally, these people who participate in shooting to make their arms strong, Starting from scratch all over again. She starts training, she goes for a routine, she goes back to small competitions, and the only thought is, if I have a 5% chance of winning in the next Olympics, I don't want to give up. Zooming out, that Tokyo 2020 dream is over, but what have I learned from it? Can there be something that I can implement and appear again? She didn't make it the end of the story. She took that information and built her next fight with it. She explored the possibilities— what can be done, what cannot be done, what has to be rectified, which coach has to be taken— and then navigated her way through. In Tokyo— in Paris Olympics 2024, She became the first Indian woman to win an Olympic gold medal in shooting bronze category. But then she didn't finish at that. A few days later, along with Sarabjot Singh in a mixed double competition, they won another event. She becomes the first Indian athlete to win 2 medals at the same Olympic Games. Since Indian independence, can you imagine? Tokyo gun malfunctioned. Paris two medals, and that also history in the making of this country's medal winning. If I had asked why me, or if she had asked why me, she wouldn't have participated. Oh wow! She's a she's an alumnus of DAV College Chandigarh. Lovely.
Good.
She found another door. You know, she didn't bang her head against the wall. The rabbit, Manubhakar, and most of us who have this 5% winning chance, we never ask why this happens to me. We always ask, is there a way out? And more, How many ways are there out? Not just one way, but how many ways are there out? You know that out-of-the-box possibility thinking? There also we don't stop at one. We create multiple 5% chances and ensure that we don't stop at— and that's the way to be. When the hungry lion is standing and staring in our face, stay zen, stay calm, zoom out. Explore, navigate, go get that 5% chance. We all deserve it. And here we introduce Star of the Future. Star of the Future is an event that we do in KMM to applaud all those students who have hit the historical high of the school. Sitting in my classroom today, you may be somebody who gets 70%, You have a five percent chance of being that one to hit the historical high. With power of choice, not being a chintamani, understanding communication inside and outside both is positive. With something like मामू में दम है and now understanding possibility thinking, why can't you become the one who becomes one of the star of the future students and takes that bench right? So I welcome you all to dream to be one of the participants of that award next year. Take that 5% chance and stun yourself. Do possibility thinking, stay zen, and go claim what belongs to you. Thank you so much. Have a great day ahead. I will now summarize the whole part before I give it to Narain. Start of the session five minutes recap box breathing. Second part of the session we do the rabbit story and we do the summarizing of five percent chance. Third part of the session, part A, the book example explaining of Zen. Part B of that part, three real-life situations where we take the sharings from the classroom. Okay, and last part, I talk about a five percent chance which I have taken an Excel. If some of us find it a little difficult to take that, find that five percent. There definitely is somebody like Tahir Bhai in your life. We can also talk about that person, something that you have experienced with your own eyes that will bind the session altogether, that will give the emotions inside the classroom the conviction. And then end the session with Manubakar example and Star of the Future events. Very simple, but I think one of the most, most beautiful sessions That I've experienced in KMM. I really wish and pray each one of you gets absorbed in its magic, and let's all of us become possibility thinkers. Thank you so much, and Naren, over to you.
Thank you, Vito. Brilliantly taken session. And thank you. It will be amazing if all of you decide which is that less than five percent goal that you want to give a shot to. I'll give you a small framework in addition to Zen, and Zen is about the approach, and I'll give you about the mindset. But before I go there, Mrunal Patel. We have two life scholars. One is Hiten Momaya and the other is Nikunj Shah. Both of them have created a career out of mountaineering. So if you wish to connect with any one of them, please ask Joe. Joe will probably give you their contact numbers. Sure, sir. Thank you. Vijay, it's it's so true that when we go to teach, we learn so much, and that is why. One of the greatest blessings of my life is to be a trainer because every time we have to think about a session, we discover so much about ourselves. And just in creating this session, we had to scan our entire life and find out where is it that we did chase the less than 5% and were there places where it could have happened but we did not give it a shot. So you know, when we are genuine teachers, not a person who speaks to get validation or applause, but if you actually want to create an impact, then the best thing that happens to you is you learn out of the session. Uh, Rakesh, uh, Rajesh ji, when you spoke about person who stammers who has given more than 2,000 speeches, I think anybody who stammers, the best profession for them is to be a public speaker. You know, when me and Joe and most of you speak, our speech is smooth, and therefore sometimes people may not pay attention. But when somebody stammers, there is a little uncertainty about when the next word will come, so everybody puts a lot of attention to listen to people who are stammering. Of course, that is on a lighter note. So those who are stammerers, and if you know of anybody who's a stammerer, please encourage them to take public speaking as a profession. Thair Bai is one of the most important pillars and will remain very, very important in the history of KMM. When we started in 2001, he played a critical role, and every time we have had programs in Ganesh Kalakrila Manch, His role has been stupendous. I remember there was a time when we went in the night to erect the backdrop and we found more than 100 chairs in Ganesh Kala Kailasa Mandir who were kind of broken or damaged. Overnight, he organized for some people who came like mysteries and they repaired the chairs and they covered the chairs which was defective. And overnight, we could rectify all the chairs. We means it was Tahir bhai who did everything. We were just witness to the magic that he is doing. His philosophy of life was never give up. And the most incredible thing about him is he has not lost a single relationship in his life. Let me give you something very, very solid in these six minutes. These six minutes for those of you. Who want to go for the less than five percent? If you want to be the Arunima Sinha and climb Mount Everest, even if nobody in the world gives you a shot, but you think it is worthwhile, let me give it a shot. Hello. It is for Joe who went for LSE. Some of you may not know, but she had she told about that flat that she bought. She sold that flat. And out of that flat, whatever money she got, she used it to go to LSE. She didn't take money from me or from her dad. When she came back, there was zero money in her bank account, but she was very clear, I will earn money again. It requires immense courage to pursue a dream. So now, keeping in mind these references, let me give you 4 possible Path that you will take when you have a dream. If you want to be like say I can see Aditya right now, Aditya Saraya, and let's say Aditya says I want to create a 25 crore company and out of that 25 crore company I should earn two and a half crores and I want to make it happen in less than three years' time. Now today he might be doing ten percent of that, maybe five percent of that, maybe two percent of that. So when he looks at it, he might say, "अरे ये तो possible नहीं है लेकिन कैसे होगा? But अगर हो गया तो कितना मजा आएगा? See the whole game of turning five percent is not how difficult things are, but हो गया तो कितना मजा आएगा? So when you have a goal like that where you reject your goal, there are four possible paths, four possible ways in which your brain is working." One is fear of loss. अरे नहीं हुआ तो very actual fear of loss. There are most of us who can't handle a loss, whether it is loss of image, whether it's loss of opportunity, whether it's loss of people, whether it is loss of money. मतलब the word loss sends shivers down our spine. So if I am a person who can't handle a loss or a possibility of a loss, I will never go for my dreams. A cricketer who thinks I'll get out will never hit a six. And the person who gets hits a six sometimes gets out. I have a deep desire to gain. Like I am visualizing how it will be when I cross that ninety kilometers of the comrades' race. I am not bothered about the seven hills that I will to conquer. I am not bothered about the injuries which are possible. I am not bothered about the difficulties. I am only dreaming about how brilliant it will be when I cross the ninety kilometer mark. If you are born in a family where intelligence is there, like mother father educated, brother sister educated, so But to achieve something like the comrades or to run a full marathon, मिल्खा सिंह का लड़का जीव सिंह is not great in athletics. He is good in golf. So you know fitness is something which has to be earned by yourself. It is not something which can be given as a gift. That's why when Betu said yesterday, Poppy Just smiled at her and said And today I ran the fastest four kilometers I ever ran in my life. Where normally I would have taken 31 or 32 minutes, you know Thinking about effort and feeling tired in advance. How many of you have said Like let's say Siona wants to go to the best college possible, wants to read the best. But when she thinks about effort, would she say Or would she say मजा आएगा? If any one of us wants to put effort like ration का दुकान. And if we want to go for a goal where there is less than five percent chances of success and we say So first option fear of loss, second option desire for gain, third tiredness of the efforts. And fourth and the most crucial, and I'll take two more minutes. Fourth and the most crucial is personal standards. You know Plato used to ask this question to people when he used to take sessions on morality in the University of Pisa. His question used to be, and this thought experiment used to be called as the Ring of Gyges. G-Y-G-E-S. He would say, imagine I give you a ring, you wear that ring, and you will become invisible, which means anything that you do is not visible to people, especially the wrong things that you do. Would you still walk the right path of morality, or because you will never get caught You might steal also. Like let's say I want gold. I enter into a gold shop. Nobody can see me. Nobody can catch me. No cameras can take me. Will I just take that gold off and go home? Now that is where. So this thought experiment was to find out what are your personal standards. When you will never get caught, what would be your personal standards? Classically, when we take KMM and every time we appeal, keep your videos on so that we can see you, we can connect with you. There will be times when somebody is traveling, but there are times when all 7 sessions, some of my darlings will just not put their camera on. Now, this is not just inconvenience, but these are personal standards. When you do not make your AC run behind you, that is your personal standard. When you excel inside the classroom, that's your personal standard. When your personal standards are low, Going for a goal is not possible. When your personal standards are high, then going for a goal is what you should do in your life. So it's not about social expectations. It is not about whether you will get caught or not. That is reputation-based expectations. It is your personal expectations out of which you want to live your life. Morality can be about social reputation, or it could be about personal standards. I have so much more to share with you on this, but maybe in life lessons. So your fearlessness by which you can go for that less than 5% Will depend on these four options in which your mind runs: one, fear of loss; two, desire for gain; three, tiredness of effort; and four, personal standards. May all of you tell us stories about, Narin, this was the five percent, less than five percent in my life, but thanks to this session of KMM Zen and the Five Percent. I have decided to give it a shot. And in that, if me as Naren, Life School as an organization, KMM as a movement can help you in any way, please let us know. May this be the best session that you take inside the classroom. Thank you so much, darlings. Love you all. Have a great day.
Thank you, Naren. Thank you, Naren. Thank you, Naren.
Thank you, sir.
Thank you, Naren. Thank you. Thank you, Joe.
Thank you. Thank you, darling. Thank you, darling.
Thank you, Terence. Thank you, Joe.
Love you. Thank you. Thank you, Naren.
Thank you, Joe. Love you, darlings.
Bye. Love you. Love you. Love you.
