The Sacred Island with Kallie Carter

This is a first-person transcript of Kallie (spelled Callie/Kallie in places) Carter describing her week-long Unleashed Author Adventure retreat where she worked on a book for purpose-driven, authentic leaders. Across multiple days she reports breakthroughs from equine therapy, breathwork, a cut-cow ceremony, and structured playful breaks—each helping open her body and mind and produce clearer, more authentic writing. By the final day she reports having fleshed out her book from a sketch to a clear structure, feeling more empowered in voice and grateful to organizers and facilitators.

Hi, I'm Callie Carter, and I'm working on a book that is to inspire the purpose driven, authentic leader. The greatest miracle I could receive this week is to receive the content that's going to be the most motivating, the most inspirational for people to step into their true purpose or the true calling and inspire the purpose driven, authentic leader. And also to be able to communicate the tools clearly to this audience so they can apply it in their lives. I am really excited to be in this environment that is so peaceful, free from all distractions, and I think the perfect location for the creativity I need to produce in my book. And I'm very ambitious and hopeful that I can get a lot of the meat of the book done in this week. Hi, I'm Callie Carter on day one of the Unleashed island adventure. And my biggest breakthrough today was during the equine therapy session, where I.
Learned.
That it was a very parallel experience to my professional experience, actually. So I came from an equestrian background. I was a competitive rider, and I was put into a very different situation in working with horses. I came from corporate America, felt very.
Confident and comfortable, was very successful in that world, and now I'm an entrepreneur.
And feeling my way through that, trying.
To striving for the same belief that I had previously.
So it's a very parallel experience. It really opened my eyes to some.
New things and how I bring my.
Energy forward in my new line of work. I just think overall it was a very amazing experience.
From the cut cow ceremony to the breath work and then the equine therapy, all of it just really helped to get my body and my headspace really open and aligned. And as I was writing today, content came out in a form that I wasn't expecting. But I think all of that work really helped prepare it to be put.
On paper in the way it was meant to be received.
Kali Carter again on day two. My main breakthrough that day was the importance of taking breaks and having fun activities to interject throughout your day. That was something that really helped me do some of the thinking I needed to do before putting content onto paper. So I found that to be really, really beneficial to the efficiency of the overall process and the quality of the content that was produced. On day three, we had a number of different activities lined up, one of them including a breathwork session. And I found the breathwork session to be extremely helpful in that it allows me to see visuals of what I'm trying to create with my story and what I want the reader to be able to see coming out of my story. So it helps me then figure out what are the words to put together to create those visuals. So that was really a big breakthrough for me today.
My name is Callie Carter. This is our final day on the Unleashed Author Adventure spent an amazing week. My miracle and main takeaways for today were one kind of in my writing, in my book, I opened up in ways that I was not expecting and it feels really right to do that.
And a lot of the work that.
Was put in this week and getting our bodies into the right place and our minds in the right place really helped me, helps me to move forward in this direction. I also the event tonight, this evening, the Goddess event, really helped me speak and feel full in my strength and my power and how I verbally communicate the objective and the purpose of my book. So those are my big takeaways for today. Over the course of the week, there was a lot of work done on talking, educating on the process of writing a book in a unique way that I've never seen taught or spoken of by other authors or publishers. And I found that really helpful for me in the work that I'm producing and then all of the activities that were interjected throughout the days to help us keep our minds and our bodies in the right place to produce the best work. That was really insightful for me too, like how much the intention and investment we put in ourselves is important to the quality of the output. I started my book with not a lot outside of a sketch coming here. So I have it fully fleshed out now. I know where it's going. I know what are the main pieces of it that I want to communicate. So very clear idea of what it's going to look like. I'm still working on putting some of the content in, but a lot of the content has been progressed. It was better than I expected. I gained more out of this trip than I could have imagined in many different ways. Above and beyond just the work here. To write a book, I would say it's so important to invest in yourself and the work that you want to do in creating a book is so important for the world. And in order to really properly do it, it's important to take yourself out of all the distractions and all of the mundane, everyday activities that can really hinder the quality and the value that you'll be able to produce with it. So I'm very, very strong advocate of coming to an event like this. I just want to give a big shout out and thanks to Kira for everything she's done to put this amazing experience together for Brittany, for the amazing location that we're able to come to. I've never been to anything like this before. I'm just so grateful to you, Sammy, for all of the work that you've done, too. You've been an integral part of this event. And also to Jeremy for all of his work with the breath work and other support throughout.
