The Sacred Island with Megan Tabla

First-person testimonial by Megan Tabla recounting a multi-day transformative writing retreat. Megan describes initial uncertainty about what to write, specific moments that sparked creativity (sunrise, cacao ceremony, seeing torches), assisted breakthroughs with facilitator Kira (energy work, prompts to free-write), a Day 2 "download" (an acronym tied to her book), intense emotional lows followed by breakthroughs through breathwork and energy work, and concluding reflections that the retreat was life-changing, produced a clear book outline, strengthened faith, and fostered a powerful women’s community.

My name is Megan, and I have no idea what book I'm going to write this week. Something to do with intuition, authenticity, finding my voice. It's wide open. So, yeah, the greatest miracle that could happen this week is for me to discover my purpose and for that to loose my tongue so that I can spread that inspiration to others to find their purpose too. On one hand, I feel like it's possible because I know with God you can do anything. But there's always those little doubts that come in. Maybe I won't write it, but also I will. I'm very conflicted. I'm Megan, and my breakthrough was I woke up super early, watched the sunrise, started writing about a tortoise and a lion. And then we went to do the cacao ceremony and yoga. And before we got there, I saw there were some torches. And so I observed them for a minute. And as we were doing yoga, I just kind of had a breakthrough on what I was going to write about, what I needed to start writing about. It was something that I had not planned on writing about. So I started doing that today. And I'll be honest, it was a little bit challenging, but worked through that with Kira a little bit. Kira was helping me through some difficult things and basically just told me to just write, get it all out. Don't worry about how it's structured or punctuation or, like, anything. Just get it all out. And don't even worry about if we even publish this book. And so that kind of relieved some pressure. And then I just started, like, pouring it all out. The end. I'm Megan, and my Day two breakthrough happened after Kira's teaching. In the morning, I received a download, an acronym that came in within, like, 15 seconds. And it was of a word I was thinking about for, like, the last six months. And it's gonna have or be a big portion of the book or a section of the book. So that was really. That was really good. And so the flow of writing was much better than the day before, where I felt like I was wandering. But I could see how, like, the first day was necessary for me to get to the second day. So today, out of nowhere, I just came in feeling very angry. And I just kind of sat in the class, sinking in my chair in a shadow. Not sure where that came from, but I was just in a really dark place for some reason. And Kira worked with me, and she breathed life back into me. I mean, I was at the point where I wanted to be gone. And she did some energy work on me and Got me to a place where I was a completely different person. And then we went to the Breathwork and it kind of did the same thing where I had this incredible experience of feeling those same feelings again in a very powerful way. And I just realized that that's what it's about. It's not really about the book. It's about, like, having my life completely transformed and looking at life in a different way. And the book will be a byproduct of that. And so it was a really good day. But I see how the lows were necessary to get to the highs. And it's all part of it. My name is Megan and I had so many miracles this week. So many downloads, so many times of inspiration, but also a lot of breakdowns. But today I finally found the flow that I've been missing and it was amazing. I just kept writing and writing and the book is coming together, so I feel really good about it. It's put together, it's all outlined and so I know right where to go in it and just finish a few sections. Well, and then you have all the editing and stuff like that. This trip was so much more than I expected. I already had really high expectations. I. I knew it was going to be very inspiring, but it was so much more. It's life changing. I'm coming out of here so inspired, like Joan of Arc. Round up these warriors and we're going to go out into the world and just conquer the world as women. That's how I feel. And committed to following God and the inspiration that I receive from God, no doubt. Do it. I don't even know how I got here, but like, you know, financially, I don't even know. But it's totally worth it. Like, just do it because it'll change your life. I just loved it all. It was amazing to meet so many great people. The women that were here were so incredible. And it was. It was good to get to rub shoulders with them and learn from them and definitely something I'll never forget.
