Unscripted: What Do You Do For a Living (ft. Israel Padilla)

Kevin Matthew Dana, 26, runs Build Remote, a marketing agency that hit $2.5 million in revenue in its first full year. His core product is a high-ticket webinar funnel: a 2.5-hour presentation driven by paid ads that generated $32,000 in sales from a $500 ad spend. He leases a Lamborghini using 100% bonus depreciation to write off the cost.

Look at that.
That's a kid right there, man. Hey, be daddy. Hey, Lamborghini is— ask this guy a question. We got a Lamborghini right here. My man, can we ask you a question on camera? Can we ask you a question on camera?
Yeah, of course.
All right, so what are you doing right now?
Working.
Working. Marco, get closer. Look at this, he's working right now while he's looking at the view. What do you do for work?
Stream?
Yeah, we're streaming. Streaming setup?
Yeah, I'm actually, uh, I was looking into that, I started thinking of wanting to get into it.
You should, bro. I mean, it's free, might as well take advantage of it.
Yeah, Twitch or Kick or what?
Uh, YouTube, Instagram.
YouTube? Okay, hell yeah.
What, um, fuck dude, what do you do for work if I already asked you that?
Yeah, marketing agency, it's called Build Remote. We help people start like online businesses, websites, CRMs, ads, all that stuff.
How much do you make in a year if you don't mind me asking?
Last year was our first official year, we did 2.5, and then this year we'll probably do 5, and then 2026 hopefully do 10.
10, how much money do you get from that money?
Last year I paid myself around maybe $600.
Goddamn. And how old are you?
26.
26. How long did it take you to start that business?
18 months.
18 months.
That was a brand new business. We started November 2023 and we went $0 to $200,000 a month, like instantly, pretty much.
And you paid your— did you go to school for that or you just learned everything online?
Yeah, online. Never went to college. And then pretty much, uh, yeah, just invested with a lot of, lot of people, like $200 grand probably up at this point. Dan Henry and like all the GOATs in marketing. Um, Jeremy Haynes. I don't know, what space are you in?
What space?
Yeah, are you in marketing at all?
Oh no, we're just asking people random questions, but I've seen this nice car, so I had to ask, what do you do for a living?
Yeah, yeah. So ads, I'm building a webinar right now. I don't know if you're feeling like webinars, but like, no, run ads, get people to like a webinar, talk about how, you know, you can sell whatever it is you're offering. And so we just built like a 200-slide page.
Uh, what do you post?
There's our past webinars that I got going on.
Oh shit, look at this, bro.
So it's basically like we intro like, all right, here's the goal. It's a presentation, it's like a 2.5-hour presentation, and at the end of it they're like, hey, if you guys want to get started, here's a link, book a call with their sales team, uh, they can talk to you about it and move forward. So that's what you run paid ads to. And then, uh, probably the easy best way to make money online because you have call funnels and stuff like that, but webinars are like people have no idea what— who the fuck you are, so you have to like talk to them, you have to structure push the presentation in a very specific way in order for them to want to move forward at the end of the webinar.
So, um, damn, man.
Yeah, I'm learning right now. I'm reading a book from the guy, he has the world record, made $57 million from one webinar. So we haven't done that yet. Our best performance, we'll spend $500 on an ad campaign and, uh, we had 4 people buy an 8K thing and we only spent $500. So that was like $32K, $500 just from the webinar.
Do you ever watch that guy, the School of Hard Rock?
Yeah, my buddy's homies with him.
Oh, no shit.
Yeah, he's Nice. He interviews all the guys. He's with Luke Belmar right now and he interviews all those, all those guys.
Interesting guy, man. But yeah, dude, hopefully these people will learn something from you. I like your whip. What kind of car is this?
Urus.
Lamborghini. Nice, man. How much these go for?
This one's $280K.
$280K cash?
I had a lease-to-own, so it's a— I paid the lease up front and then Trump's bringing that bonus depreciation. So lease is 100% write-off. I paid for the lease in cash. I didn't know you could do that, but you can. Um, so you can pay the lease in cash, I can write off write off the whole lease payment, and then it's a 12-month cash lease. And then basically in next— because I just got this like in March— and then next March I'm gonna basically just buy in the rest, which will be like $200K. And then as long as Trump— which is in Congress right now, the bonus depreciation thing— as long as that gets passed, then I can write off the $200K. But if I had paid cash right off the bat, they didn't have bonus depreciation, so I wouldn't have been able to do that.
Yeah, dude, I mean, that's it, bro.
But what's your channel? Where are you following at?
Uh, Israel Padilla. Just check it out on Instagram. Yeah, Israel like the Bible and Padilla Okay, what was your name? Kevin. Kevin. Israel, bro. Nice to meet you, bro. Say your Instagram.
Kevin Dana. Yeah, you can put it— it's on the back too, right there. Yeah, right there.
Heck yeah, man. Well, shit, nice to meet you, bro.
Oh yeah, dude, I actually have a camera guy I just hired to like do this stuff with me. I just haven't gotten out and done it yet.
It's a beautiful day to go out, bro. I got you. Some wild shit. You're gonna be like, man, he ain't— you don't be posting business stuff. But just trying something different, bro.
Yeah. What do you do for, uh, what's your main income source?
Uh, social media, bro. I just travel around the world and just ask random shit. Yeah, dude, just—
is it paid for views or what's the main— what's the main income source?
Uh, views, actually.
Views? Yeah. TikTok? What pays the best?
Facebook. People sleep on Facebook.
Facebook?
Facebook, yes.
You post on Facebook and just if it goes wild, like, yeah, there's programs too where you get like 5 million views, how many— how much you get paid on that?
Let's say, uh, 5 minute, uh, like what you said, it could pay for like— depending on the engagement, it could pay at least 1.5K just for that one video.
Really?
It does. It doesn't matter how long it is. And they also got programs where like if you post 2 videos, you can make 4 grand.
Really?
If you post 2 videos, I get 4 million— 2 million each. It just— dude, just a lot of opportunities on that shit.
Jeez.
Check it out, bro.
You can make figures from it?
Yeah, you can. I'm I make from Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snap, and, uh, I'm trying on that. Yeah, trying to grow on that one. Yeah, try it out, bro. It's free to post. Yeah, yeah, that's it. Take care, bro. Be safe, man.
