Kevin Surace describes how AI will let anyone turn an idea into a film by generating scripts, voices, and visuals in the style of directors like Spielberg or Hitchcock. Three-minute AI films are already possible, with longer formats coming soon as the technology moves beyond robotic avatars to human-like characters.

This is how fast AI can turn one idea into a film in 2026. The idea that anyone can be empowered to create at least a 3-minute video and then a video series, and then beyond that, a 30, a 60, a 90-minute complete feature film. And that's complicated because it includes the creation of 3D atmospheres and environments, camera angles, all of these things. And you can model them by, first of all, understanding, say, Steven Spielberg would have done and taking models from that and say what camera angles were used there and have the Spielberg model or the Hitchcock model or whatever it is, right? It's fascinating. And then you have to develop characters, and then the characters have to be believable. And at first they may be more robots and science fiction kind of characters before they're human-like characters. But I can see where the technology is going, is that we in our home, all of us, will be film creators and film directors. And within a few years, we're going to be able to write our own films without even needing to write the entire script. We're going to say, here's the story, here's the story arc, here's my characters, generate all the text, all the voices. And seeing some of that right now, and it's only 3 minutes, but you go, I see where this goes.
