Nicole Henry sings "Get Happy," a spiritual that calls listeners to shout hallelujah, wash away their sins, and cross into the promised land. The song blends upbeat encouragement with religious imagery of salvation and a peaceful afterlife.
Hallelujah, hallelujah. All you sinners, gather round. Hallelujah, oh hallelujah. All you sinners, I have found a land where we forever are free. So come, you sinners, and just follow me. Troubles, come on, get happy. Go on and chase all your cares away. Sing hallelujah, come on, get happy. Get ready for the judgment day. The sun is shining, come on, get happy. The Lord is waiting to take your hand. Shout hallelujah, come on, get happy. We're ready for the promised land. Lift your head and cross the river. Wash your sins away in the tide. It's oh so peaceful on the other side. Forget your troubles, come on, get happy. Come on and wash all your cares away. Shout hallelujah, get happy. Get ready for the judgment day. Amen. We cross the river, wash your sins away in the tide. See, it's oh so peaceful on the other side. Forget your troubles and just get happy, wash all your cares away. Shout hallelujah, get happy, get ready for the judgment day. Amen. Get ready for the judgment day. The judgment day. The judgment day.
