Three vocalists perform Somewhere Over the Rainbow, alternating between sung verses and spoken reflections. The performance uses imagery of rainbows, bluebirds, and escape to explore themes of yearning for a hopeful place beyond life's troubles.
3, 4.
When all the world is a hopeless jumble and the raindrops tumble aloud, heaven opens a magic lane. Ooh.
When all the clouds darken up the skyway, there's a rainbow highway to be found. Leading from your windowpane to a place behind the sun.
Just a step beyond the rain.
Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high, there's a land That I heard of once in a lullaby. Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue, and the dreams That you dare to dream really do come true. One day I'll wish upon a star and wake up where the clouds are far behind me. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you You'll find me somewhere over the rainbow. Birds fly, birds fly over the rainbow. Where troubles melt like lemon drops, away above the chimney tops, that's where you'll find me. Somewhere over the rainbow, bluebirds fly. Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?
Little bluebirds fly beyond the rainbow. Why, oh, why can't I?
