Kevin Surace shows how Claude AI can generate 20,000 lines of production-ready code in six hours. He argues developers mistake writing code for their actual purpose, which is delivering value to users. The real shift ahead is from code-centric identity to outcome-centric impact.

He exposed why the people refusing to use AI are making one massive mistake. Here's where we are today with the latest Claude models. It will work for hours and complete your entire application, top to bottom, front end, back end, everything. And the first person I saw do that, he gave it a problem and it went off and he came back like 6 hours later. It says, I'm done. It wrote 20,000 lines of code and finished the entire application and it worked and it was gorgeous. And the first thing that hit him wasn't wow, it was Where's my sense of purpose? And what I've been telling people, and I will scream this from the rafters over and over again, is the following: you mistook your sense of purpose for writing line by line of code. That was never your sense of purpose. Your sense of purpose was the outcome or the output from that effort, because the people on the other side who were going to use your application didn't know or care how you made it, and they still don't. I think people in business are going to have to shift a lot of their thinking away from what they thought was their sense of purpose.
