A short YouTube "daily tip" by Kim Zoller (Daily Tip #93) continuing a discussion about the "comparison killer." The speaker warns not only against upward comparison but also against downward comparison—using others' lower effort as permission to underperform—and urges listeners to hold themselves to their own higher standard to grow into their potential.

Hi, it's Kim Zoller. So obviously I'm enjoying doing these things outside. I like a little bit of the sunshine. So yesterday, you know, I talked about comparison and the comparison killer. And so today I was really thinking about taking that a little bit further. And what about when we compare ourselves to people who are not doing as much as we're doing and we actually give ourselves permission to not live up to our fullest potential because we're comparing ourselves to a lower standard and then saying, well, if they're doing it, it's fine, and, you know, it's fine. I'm just going to do that. So I want to challenge you to think about when you do that, hold yourself to your own standard. And the comparison killer is not only up, it's down, too, in that sometimes we give ourselves permission to do certain things when. When truly we could do better, we know better, and we need to just do better because ultimately that is what's going to grow us and make us who we have the potential to be. Have the best day.
