Short YouTube monologue by Kim Zoller (ID360) advising viewers not to use the alarm snooze button. Zoller explains that hitting snooze interrupts REM sleep cycles, which leaves people feeling drowsy rather than rested, and recommends setting the alarm for the actual wake time and getting up immediately to feel more awake and have a better day.

Hi, it's Kim Zoller with ID360. And welcome to Wednesday's Wirings. Are you a snoozer? Do you hit the snooze button? Do you know that hitting the snooze button is actually detrimental to your sleep? You may wonder why because you're thinking, oh, I just need that little extra bit, or I need a warning, or I love the dream I'm in. Well, what we're doing is generally what they find is that we are in the state, our REM state, which is our rapid eye movement state, which is taking us into a nice restorative, deep sleep. And so we're going in and out and in and out and in and out, which is making us feel drowsy and tired as opposed to feeling rested, which is why we're snoozing in the first place. So here's the deal. Wake up, set your alarm clock for when you need to actually get up. And then get up. At that time, you will feel more awake, you will feel more alive, and you will have a better day. Have the very best day.
