Kim Zoller uses a broken juicer to argue that guides—mentors, coaches, books, podcasts, family—aren't crutches but gifts for learning. She asks: who are your guides, and what can they teach you about health and communication?

I got a new juicer and it's taken me over a month to figure out how to use it. In fact, I didn't really even figure out how to use it. I had to wait till my kids came home so they could use it and then show me how to use it. Hi, I'm Kim Zoller. Welcome to Wednesday's Wirings. Sometimes when we are trying a new habit, trying to get healthier, trying to do something, communicate differently, we need a guide. We need someone who is going to show us, to help us so that we can actually learn and then do it the next time. And that is exactly what I did with this juicer. And it made me think about how I have learned from mentors and coaches and books and podcasts and used to be tapes and how having a guide is actually such a gift. It is not about having a crutch. It's about learning from people so that we can be better ourselves. I challenge you to think about who's your guide, what, what's your guide, and what can you learn to create healthy and good habits for yourself? And when I mean healthy, I mean healthy communication healthy and how you function every single day.
