Welcome to the Business Without Burnout podcast. I'm Kirsten Roldan, and I help entrepreneurs make a lot of money peacefully. I'm a New Yorican who went from working in healthcare while cleaning houses and braiding hair on the side to building a business that's generated over $4 million and counting. But there was a time I almost shut my business down because I had a lot of money but no peace. I managed to turn it around, and that's why every week I share the 4 strategies that help you grow without burnout: email marketing, team systems, and mindset.
So let's dive in.
If your launches create more trauma than revenue right now, then this episode is going to feel like therapy for you and for your email subscribers. Welcome back to the podcast. Today, I'm going to literally walk you through a behind the scenes of how I write 10 launch emails in 1 hour. You are going to hear my real process, the messy brain dump, the half sentences, the ums, the mindset drama. That is the point. This is a free masterclass. Treat it like you paid for it. Pause, do the work, and then send me your email win so we can add it to our public email wins dashboard. Most of you are trying to write perfect copy out of thin air, and you shouldn't, right? By the end of this episode, you're going to learn what it actually looks like to write quickly. And listen, I want you to practice, and it's okay if your first time you still don't hit the 10 emails in 1 hour, but I promise you, if you apply this method, you will get faster and faster. If you just stop editing yourself while you write, you will never stare at a blank screen again. This is a working session. So grab a notebook or a Google Doc and let's write some emails. Now, as a heads up, some of this video, because I positioned it as a working session for my clients, has some quiet downtime in it. So what I've done is I've actually had my editor edit those parts out and keep, you know, the most, uh, engaging parts of the video in, the parts that are actually teaching you something or showing you something, talking to you, et cetera. So it may be less an hour on this podcast, but just know it was exactly 1 hour when I was recording it. We just wanted to make sure to edit it in the most actionable way for you.
Enjoy. One of my favorite trainings is how to write 10 emails in 1 hour. Let's get you writing emails fast. So I'm going to show you a proven framework to write emails quickly, how to streamline your writing process, and common challenges slowing you down so you can start writing faster right away. So What this framework is, is a framework to help you write as many as 10 emails in 1 hour. And it really focuses on helping you with your consistency, with less overthinking and with higher conversions. Because the faster you write, the faster you get emails out, the faster you can make sales. But also the faster you write means less overwriting, which means less writing all these long emails just to not convert. Oftentimes the, longest emails are the ones that aren't converting because they don't include all of the important components. There, it's just kind of a run-on sentence, if you will. So we want to make sure we're not overwriting either. Now, why it matters is because sending emails equals sales, but also a huge reason why people rely on email templates, and we don't believe in templates in this program, is that they don't know how to write fast and they think that having templates will help them write faster. So this eliminates your need for templates. And makes you look more unique. So the challenges slowing you down is you don't know what to write in advance. You have unprepared topics. So you just sit at your computer and you don't even know what you're writing, right? Number 2, you have million-dollar energy leaks. So you have negative thoughts about yourself, your clients, your audience, your offer, or your income that you're not addressing. And these turn into what we call stop writing thoughts. So, for example, what if this doesn't work? Like while you're writing, you're thinking, what if this doesn't work? What if this doesn't sell? This isn't valuable enough. I'm not good at this. And that makes you stop writing or slow down your writing. Also, you're editing while you're writing. You know, you're editing while you're writing when you are deleting sentences or you're trying to create subject lines, CTAs, and PS lines while you're writing, asking yourself, how do I want to say this? That's how you know you're editing while you're writing. When you are sitting down to write, you should just be writing. No editing, nothing. Literally just getting boring sentences on the paper. Another thing that slows you down is lack of self-coaching, right? You're not addressing your mindset as you write. You're literally not addressing your mindset as you write. So when you are thinking, oh my goodness, I'm so tired, this is so hard, this is rough, you're just letting your brain run wild rather than replacing those Stop writing thoughts with keep writing thoughts. Okay. And another thing is you're putting other work before writing, right? So you'll be in the middle of writing, you'll get tired and bored and annoyed, and then you'll go do other work and then you'll stop writing and then you'll come back and write. You'll keep writing. You're slowing yourself down, right? Or in your brain, you're like, I need to get this done so I could just finally get this thing on my to-do list done. And that's going to slow you down too. Something to think about is if you start editing while you're writing or you notice that you are having all these negative thoughts and you have all these stop writing thoughts Stop, literally stop and ask yourself, what are all my thoughts right now about my offer, my audience, my clients, myself, and my income? That will help you to have a self-coaching session so that you can actually write faster. And you might think stopping will slow you down. It will actually help you write faster. And you will see that when you watch the behind the scenes of my own writing fast videos, you will see me literally stop and be like, okay, I need to take a minute and just self-coach. And then I end up writing Like there's this one video where I write 16 emails in an hour, right? And it's because I took a break and I self-coached. Now here's the Write Emails Fast framework. Step 1 is to prepare your million-dollar energy. Okay, you're going to identify and replace your stop writing thoughts with keep writing thoughts. Okay, so you're going to figure out what are all my stop writing thoughts? What are all the thoughts that would stop me from writing or slow down my writing? And then you're going to replace it. So for example, if one of your stop writing thoughts is, this is so hard, you can replace it with, this isn't that hard, right? Or, you know, this is going to take me so long and I don't have time. This won't take me that long, right? And then, you know, what if nobody even buys from this email? I feel like nobody ever buys from my emails. At least one person will eat this email up, right? Have keep writing thoughts in the in your back pocket, so as you're writing, you literally are self-coaching yourself as you go. Okay, and watch my behind-the-scenes writing videos for you to see this in action. Okay, step two is write boring sentences first. Stop trying to aim for perfection. Focus on simple sentences. Just keep writing, right? Literally, just keep writing. That's it. Don't even even if you notice you're like, oh, I'm not focusing on one idea like Kirsten tells me to, or oh, I added an extra framework when I'm only. supposed to have one, this, this, and that. Like, even if you notice, like, I'm going off the framework or whatever, keep writing. Just keep writing. Edit it after. It's fine. Right? Edit it after. Then step 3 is self-coach as you write. Notice when you're overthinking or you're editing while you write and coach yourself through it as you go. Literally talk to yourself in your mind as you go. For me, my, one of my favorite stop writing thoughts that I just love to think, not really, but I always think it is, this is going to take me all night. This is going to take me all night. This is going to take me all night. And you know what I always tell myself? My keep writing thought is, okay, so go all night. I say, okay, so you're gonna have to go all night then, right? You know, okay, go all night. It's okay if you go all night. That's usually what I say. And then I will be like, okay, and I'll keep going. I just don't make going all night, quote unquote, a problem. I don't lie to myself and say, no, this might take— this could take you 10 minutes. I don't, because who knows? Who knows, right? Instead, I'm just like, okay, yeah, you might have to go all night. That's okay. And then guess what? I get it done in 10 minutes because I don't give in to my brain. I self-coach it as I go, right? So that's literally what it looks like in action. So your next steps are to try to write 10 emails using this framework and time yourself. Aim for 1 hour total and post your results in the group under the wins channel. And something I want to know is it's okay if it doesn't happen the first time or if it doesn't happen a few times. You will get faster. Post your win if it's 2 emails in 30 minutes. Post that win, right? Because that is faster than you already are doing right now, I'm sure, right? So post your win even if it's not 10 emails in an hour. That's okay. It will become 10 emails in an hour as you practice and practice and practice. Use our frameworks of building an email from scratch and Writing Emails Fast, right? The 10 Emails in 1 Hour framework to help you to get it all out on paper and get it done quickly. All right. I can't wait to see your writing fast wins and how much more peaceful email marketing is going to be for you. See you in the next training.
Did you notice how I thought through everything? How I wasn't editing, I wasn't correcting myself, how I coached myself as I went? Now I want you to do the same thing. I want you to set a 1-hour timer and I want you to apply the frameworks that I talked about and start writing. Coach yourself as you write. You are not allowed to delete or edit or backspace, only to keep writing for 1 hour and see how far you get. The best emails are written without editing. The more you edit, the less converting. Every podcast I do like this is like a free masterclass. Don't just get inspired. I want you to actually implement. And my request to you is that every time you listen to an episode like this, you do something with it.
