Upgrade Your Sales & Identity with these Q2 Planning Tips
16 Jun 2026 · 17 min
In this solo podcast episode, entrepreneur Kirsten Roldan shares her quarterly planning system to help entrepreneurs grow revenue while maintaining peace. She recaps her recent Million Dollar Email launch (over 100 enrollments, AI‑enhanced content) and explains how she has been preparing for Q2 since Q3 of the previous year. Her process starts each quarter with a team‑feedback review and a "CEO performance review" that measures how well she executed external coaching and advice. She then breaks annual targets into three operational pillars—sales, operations, and fulfillment—and maps quarterly actions to each pillar. Roldan stresses the importance of a 10‑year vision and shows how her current activities (art journaling, Spanish lessons, researching housing in New York and Puerto Rico) align with that long‑term picture. She advocates a mindset shift: eliminate limiting thoughts like “I don’t know” and adopt new empowering identities, illustrated by a story of adopting the Spanish name “Kai.” Finally, she urges listeners to raise their standards for themselves, their teams, and their clients, and to set concrete Q2 goals that support their 10‑year vision. Listeners are invited to join her email list for exclusive content.

Welcome to the Business Without Burnout podcast. I'm Kirsten Roldan and I help entrepreneurs make a lot of money peacefully. I'm a New Yorican who went from working in healthcare while cleaning houses and braiding hair on the side to building a business that's generated over $4 million and counting. But there was a time I almost shut my business down because I had a lot of money but no peace. I managed to turn it around and that's why every week I share the 4 strategies that help you grow without burnout: email marketing, team systems, and mindset. So let's dive in. Hello, Peaceful Millionaires. Welcome back to the podcast. I'm so excited to come back to you all after my recent Million Dollar Email Launch. We enrolled over 100 people. I've been celebrating. That's my highest amount of member enrollments ever in a program in my business. I could not be more excited. I am on my walking pad right now. I'm not sure if you all will hear it or not, but If you do, just know, listen, I'm locked in. I'm locked in for summer. It only took me about 4 months to get there. But here we are. And I'm just excited to be here today and to talk to you all. Specifically, I wanna talk about how to walk into Q2 with a new mindset, with the right strategy and the right direction for yourself, because— Yeah. I've been talking a lot to my clients about how I was able to see the success that I did in this launch because I've been planning for this since Q3 of last year. So your results in Q3, Q4, even Q1 of 2027, they're being worked on right now. And so I really want you all to know how to effectively walk into Q2 so that you can look back and be like, oh, all of what I'm experiencing now is because of the work I did then. So just a quick Q1 recap for myself. I relaunched Million Dollar Email. I updated the format. I added AI tools and really leaned into my thought leadership around not just copywriting and email marketing in general, but around AI and using it in your business. Mm-hmm. And I enrolled over 100 clients while also at the same time making updates to my higher level offer. I plan on adding in a new one. There is a lot going on and it has been amazing. I've like never felt so lit up. But like I said, I have been thinking and prepping for Q1 and Q2 since Q3 and Q4 of 2025. So I think 2 quarters or 6 months at a time. Now that doesn't mean that things don't shift or change, but I always have a general direction direction of where I'm going. So I'm always working on the next quarter. So I start every quarter with reviewing my team's feedback. That's number one. I actually ask my team every quarter to give me feedback on what is making their job hard. It's a very simple form. It just says, hey, what has made your job challenging to do recently? What is the system that you propose to help you— Mm-hmm. Make it easier, right? And so I start the quarter with going over all of the team feedback. What is going on in the business that's making things hard for my team? What do we need to do to fix it? Something else I do is what I call a CEO performance review. This is where I go over all the coaching, consulting, and strategy and direction that I've received from others, whether it's— My team. My coaches, my friends, courses that I joined, whatever it is, all of the consulting that I got over the past quarter and how much I implemented versus what I didn't. Okay. So I consider this a CEO performance review because if I am receiving direction and consulting for my business, it is my job to execute on it. So I need to measure my performance in doing that. Right. So I— Like I said, I go over what is my team's feedback. I need to do a team review. Then I need to do a CEO performance review because you would be amazed. A lot of y'all will say, I don't know what I should be doing this quarter. I don't know what the next step is. Probably the things you didn't do last quarter that you were supposed to, right? That happens to me all the time. I cannot tell you every single quarter I'm like, oh, I already have my action list. I have a whole list of things I didn't end up implementing last quarter. You see what I'm saying? So a lot of you are looking for new, new, new, and actually you need to go back and look at what you were supposed to do or what you said you were going to do in the past that you didn't. Okay. Then from there, I break down my goals into 3 categories. So first and foremost, before I actually get into this, I want you to think about, number 1, what do you want this year? By the end of this year, what do you want? Okay, whether it's a revenue goal or an enrollment goal, you know, a client enrollment goal, or what— whatever it is, what do you want? By the— a profit goal. What do you want by the end of this year? Do you want a certain paycheck amount? Like, what is it? All right, and then you need to ask yourself, what do I need to do over the next upcoming quarters to achieve that goal. So that's where I break things down into 3 categories: sales, operations, and fulfillment, a.k.a. delivery, right? So if I have a goal of enrolling $500 million email clients this year, what do I need to do in sales, operations, and fulfillment in Q1? What do I need to do in sales, operations, and fulfillment in Q2? What do I need to do in sales, operations, and fulfillment in Q3? And so on. Okay, so this is how you need to be thinking. Now, it could be that with your sales you need to do lead generation or you need to do a launch or you need to— whatever it is, right? With your operations, it could be that you need to fix your admin systems. You need to actually hire an operations manager or your fulfillment. Same thing. Maybe you need to make a hire. Maybe you need to fix systems. Maybe you need to simplify your offer, whatever it is. Right. But you need to ask yourself, what is my goal for the year? Because a lot of y'all are working month to month, quarter to quarter, and your quarterly actions are not creating your yearly goal. You're just like, what do I do next in my business? And it's like, no, no, no. Like, everything you do should be creating and curating your yearly goal. Okay, but something else I've been really telling my clients is you need to have a 10-year goal, all right? You need to have a 10-year vision. Who do you want to be in 10 years, and what do you need to start doing and stop doing this year to achieve that? I've talked about this in my content, how I'm doing like a 10-year vision board series where I'm recording myself. And I'm sharing like what I am doing essentially in the behind the scenes of creating my 10-year vision board, which for me is to be work optional by 50, to be a mother of 2, to own 2 homes, one in New York, one in Puerto Rico, to be bilingual. I wanna be able to speak fluent Spanish and to be an influential Latina in tech. So everything I'm doing this year is to set myself up for my 10-year vision. For example, I've been asking myself on Saturday, what do I wanna do with the kids? I wanna do arts and crafts. So am I doing arts and crafts on Saturdays now as if I'm already there? So I've started art journaling again. I used to art journal all the time. I was like obsessed with it. I love scrapbooking and collaging. It's something my mom and I always really connected on. That's why I wanna do it with my kids. Mm-hmm. And so I've started art journaling again and like really getting into it. I'm now, I'm doing it even beyond the weekends. I do it like almost every night now. And so things like that, right? Or if I am thinking about owning a home in New York and Puerto Rico, am I learning more? For example, what do I know about New York? What don't I know about New York versus what do I know about Puerto Rico? What don't I know about Puerto Rico? So I'm learning. Yeah. The different things that I need to know about living in those places that maybe I don't know right now. Like, what are the schools like in New York? What are my options there when I'm raising my kids there? What are the local things I need to know about Puerto Rico? I'm literally doing all of that research now. And also I'm getting Spanish lessons every single day to be able to actually speak Spanish, all the things. So there are so many things I'm doing right now to be that 10-year version of myself. so that it comes, right? And it actually happens. So make sure you're thinking, what am I doing this year? What's my goal? And is it actually contributing to my 10-year vision or am I just doing another year of business where I do another year of business? Okay. And honestly, I think the biggest and most helpful thing that you can do is as I head into Q2, I'm really asking myself, What thoughts did I think in Q1 that I don't wanna ever think again? Right. What did I think about my offer, my clients, myself, the industry, others that I never wanna think again? So for example, in Q1, my number one thought was, I don't know how this launch is gonna go. I just don't know how it's gonna go. It's new, it's different. I just don't know how it's gonna go. And I decided in Q2, I'm never thinking, I don't know blank again. I'm never thinking that again. I just recently said to one of my coaches, I was like, I just don't know what my brand is on TikTok. And I caught myself. I was like, yes, you do. Stop saying I don't know. You don't say I don't know anymore, right? I don't know this. I don't know that. You don't say that anymore. Okay, so whatever it is, or about your clients, maybe like my clients are this or my clients are that. Where can you not think that anymore? Not say that anymore? Whatever it is, write down all the thoughts you were thinking in Q1 and where can you decide, "I don't think that anymore." And the best example I've been giving to all my clients, it's silly, but it's honestly true. I've been telling them, you need to believe that your identity can change in a minute. And I give the example of when I was in South America and I was at a café and— Hi. Someone was taking my order and they asked me my name and everyone in my personal life calls me K. No one— only y'all call me Kirsten Roldan, okay? That's just my professional name, but everybody calls me K. But when I'm speaking Spanish and someone asks me my name, whenever I say K, usually they think that I'm like either saying what, like qué, like what? And so they repeat themselves or they just don't fully understand like what the name is. So then I started saying, you know, como K, like, you know, K, the letter K, but it still was like, what? You know, like people weren't really latching onto it. And I personally don't like to go by Kristina for my own personal reasons. And so I was like, okay, you know, so once again, I'm in this situation where I'm like, my name is K. And then this person, the first person ever was like, can you spell it for me? And I was like, yeah, so in Spanish I spelled my name K-A-Y, right? In Spanish. And they were like, oh, como Kai, like, oh, like Kai. And immediately I was blown away. I was like, Kai, yeah, that's my name in Spanish, right? Like, oh yeah, I just didn't know how to say the name in Spanish, but yeah, soy Kai. And so when I tell you, I've been telling all my clients this story, I felt like I had a new identity bestowed upon me, given to me. By a Spanish speaker. They were like, you are now Kai. Like, stop saying K, you are Kai, right? When you speak Spanish, this is who you are. And it was like instantly my identity changed. And I went to all my friends and they were all joking with me and laughing with me about it because I was so dramatic. I was like, guys, soy Kai ahora. Like, now I'm Kai. Like, don't call me K when I'm speaking Spanish, call me Kai. And they were like, "Okay." And I was like, "No, this is my new identity." Next thing I knew, I was like, "I'm never calling myself a no sabo kid again. I'm not a no sabo kid. I don't say no sabo. I am never saying, 'Sorry, my Spanish is bad,' again. No, I'm learning Spanish, right? I'm never saying I'm not good at Spanish or that I don't speak it." If someone asked me, "Do you speak Spanish?" I'm usually like, no, I really don't. Like, I understand it a little bit. No, no, no, no, no. I'm going to say yes, I speak Spanish. Right? Like I became a new person so quickly. Like I said, it was like this person had just like given me this gift and was like, you are now this and this is how I see you. And so take it. And I was like, whoa. Like it blew my mind. So simple. So silly. But honestly, Yeah. That is the example I've been giving my clients. And by the way, I've been— I like drastically improved in my Spanish since then. Like, I like skyrocketed right from there. And that was like amazing, right? And in my confidence and my ability to like speak it and things like that and understand it. So I've been telling my clients this example because I'm like, why don't you all believe that you could just change your mind right now? That you could just stop thinking what you don't want to think, right? I don't want to think that I'm a no saboteur kid that doesn't speak Spanish, so I'm not going to think it anymore. You see what I'm saying? I'm just not— I'm just not going to think it. And so where can you change your identity tonight, right? Where can you change your identity right now? I'm also asking myself, how can I be a CEO that I'm proud of? I'm so proud of the way I showed up this past quarter. I mean, if you ask my team, it was like night and day, the way I showed up as a leader, the way I showed up as a coach, the way I showed up as an entrepreneur. I am so proud of myself. What do I need to say by the end of the quarter? What am I gonna be proud of, right? By the end of next quarter, What am I going to be proud of? And then from there, what are my standards for myself, right? What are my new standards? Like going back to, it's very similar to what am I believing and what am I not saying to myself anymore? It's like, what are my standards for myself now? Where can I raise my standards? Like, no, you don't do that anymore. You don't say that anymore, right? You don't do this or do that, whatever it is, okay? Yeah. And what are my standards for my clients? What are my standards for my team? Okay, what are my standards for my clients? For example, I really raised my standards for my clients this past quarter, especially in Million Dollar Email. I was like, y'all need to be more self-led, right? Like, I'm raising my standards on you. You know, you need to be more self-led. You need to trust your genius. You need to be emailing a lot more. You need to be doing this. You need to be doing that. I'm raising my standards for them. And here's how I'm going to help you. And same thing with my HighLevel clients. I'm like, we're raising the standard here. Okay? Same thing with my team. I did the same thing. I raised the standard on them. I was like, I need y'all doing this. I need you doing that. We need to raise our standards. Okay, so what are your standards right now and what do you need them to be to work toward your 10-year vision? And how can you be that identity right now? That is everything you need right now to prepare for Q2 and for this to be your best year yet, okay? And I cannot wait for you all to see what I have cooking up. It's gonna be so, so good. Make sure you join my email list because that is where I send my best, most exclusive content.
