Kirsten Roldan argues AI email writing is essential for entrepreneurs and counters three objections: AI's carbon footprint is modest, it empowers creatives rather than replacing them, and originality stays intact when you feed AI your unique frameworks. AI-generated emails drive higher conversion rates and free up 10+ hours per week.

Welcome to the Business Without Burnout podcast. I'm Kirsten Roldan and I help entrepreneurs make a lot of money peacefully. I'm a New Rican who went from working in healthcare while cleaning houses and braiding hair on the side to building a business that's generated over $4 million and counting. But there was a time I almost shut my business down because I had a lot of money but no peace. I managed to turn it around and that's why every week I share the 4 strategies that help you grow without burnout: email marketing, team systems, and mindset. So let's dive in. Hello, Peaceful Millionaires. Welcome back to the podcast. Today we're gonna touch on something controversial, which is why you should use AI to write your emails, even though it feels like everyone is saying the opposite. I wanna push back on that. I wanna give you a different perspective. But first, why does this matter so much to me? Why am I fighting with people on the internet over this? As a woman in business and someone whose core business mission is helping people to make a lot of money peacefully, I'm a firm believer that AI is now becoming a standard business practice, and yet I'm seeing so many people resist it. Like, I'm seeing people resist it and I'm just thinking to myself, I don't get it. It's like if you don't use Zapier, you know, the automation tool Zapier in your business, that would be insane. That's like standard. That's how I feel about AI right now. I'm just like, it is insane that pe— that every single business owner isn't using it. And There is already a gender gap happening in women using AI in business, and it's growing. And I've been talking a lot about this with my clients. Using AI right now is about staying competitive in the business space. And if you're choosing not to use it, you are choosing to fall behind and make your business much harder. Like, like I said, to me it's like you're choosing not to use Zapier, like you're choosing not to automate your business. What? Why would you do that right now? If you've hesitated around AI, it makes sense. There are real concerns being raised, and today we're going to address the 3 biggest ones head on environmental, economic, and originality concerns. And I'm gonna give you just really simple reframes. And like I said, this is a controversial episode, so you may not like all of them, but I just wanna help the people that want the help, okay? So for the first concern, environmental, AI is bad for the planet. Unfortunately, unfortunately, okay? Unfortunately, a lot of things are bad for the planet, y'all. All right. Studies are showing that streaming services like Netflix consume more energy and water than AI does. Like one rom-com could do worse than an AI prompt. [LAUGHTER] Data centers have always had an environmental cost. People are simply more aware of it now because of AI. There are things far more harmful to the planet that none of us are abstaining from, that we really should be abstaining from, or at least limiting, right? So if this is your reason for not using AI in your business, it's worth asking what else you're applying that standard to, number one, but also have you thoroughly done the research on the actual cost and what you can do to personally reduce it? So for example, instead of completely abstaining, like I have not completely stopped using plastic because the reality is plastic is a very common thing in our society, unfortunately, right? I've not completely abstained from it. I know that it's bad. I do my best to go glass as much as I possibly can, and I make every effort to recycle, Right? It's the same with AI. I make every effort to be highly intentional and discerning with when and how I use it rather than trying to completely just ignore it and get it out of my life. Right? Concern number 2 is economic. The concern being that AI will replace creative service providers. First of all, this is just not true. I use AI a lot in my business and I pay thousands of dollars for my team members still for custom design work, for coaching assistance, all the things, right? So that's number 1. You can use AI and still invest invest in creative service providers, but high-touch services with unique frameworks and real authority will always be in demand. The actual threat to service providers is not AI. It is choosing not to use it, which will cause delays in your service delivery, limit how many clients you can take on, and lead to creative burnout. AI is not your competition. Service providers who use AI effectively are. So for example, I use AI in my own copywriting agency and was signing more clients than my counterparts because AI gave me the capacity to, and I knew how to use it. Correct. Correctly to get good client results. To me, I'm just like, think about it, ChatGPT and other models like Claude, all the things, as good as they can be, they're also very generic and very vague. Y'all are worried about that taking y'all out. I'm not worried about that. I think instead every single service provider should be building their own custom AI suite of tools that's proprietary to their unique frameworks and services and using it to make their lives easier in their business, but also. that's what people are joining for. They're joining for your unique frameworks. And yeah, you just happen to have been like automating them. Why not? Right? So instead of being like, oh no, AI, my clients are using ChatGPT and Claude and now they're not gonna get copy from me, or they're not gonna get design work from me, or blah, blah, blah, blah. I'm like, build your own proprietary AI suite. Why wouldn't you do that? Right? Something to think about. The next thing is originality. The concern being AI will strip your voice and make your work generic, and the internet will just be a boring, bland AI slop place. By the way, if I have to hear AI slop one more time, I'm like gonna bang my head against a wall. It's too much. The only time that happens is when you treat AI like a vending machine. You put a prompt in, you copy the exact output it gives you out. When you feed AI properly, your frameworks, your language, your your voice, right? It produces copy that is distinctly yours. Okay? The businesses using AI most effectively are not the ones using it least. They're the ones who learned how to direct it. And treating AI like, you know, this, this big scary thing that's gonna just make the world such a boring place will not protect your originality. It's not gonna do it. Okay? Should we use it with intentionality and discernment? Absolutely. But like I said, withholding is not the same as being thoughtful. For example, I made 5 figures in cash last month from AI-written emails that my audience was loving. My content is unique and original because that's what I feed it. I know how to use it. Now, a note on intellectual property protection when using AI. There are legitimate questions and concerns about IP when using AI, specifically around what you put and what comes out, what is plagiarism, et cetera. The key distinction is is using a purpose-built tool versus a general public model. When you use a platform that's built with data privacy protections, your frameworks, your copy, and your client inputs are not being fed into a public model or used to train anyone else's AI. Your intellectual property stays yours. This is why the tool you use matters as much as how you use it, right? Like I said, if you're feeding a general ChatGPT model, Yeah, your IP's not really protected, right? And it doesn't really care that it's just copy and pasting from other people's stuff on the internet. But if you use a platform that has those protections in place, you are in a much better situation, right? And so that's what I make sure to do. Now, when you get past these concerns, here's what's on the other side. Your conversions increase because your copy is more consistent, more strategic, and written without the mental fatigue that makes most emails fall flat. Your productivity increases. We're talking 10+ hours a week. Mm-hmm. Week back in your life without working harder or producing less. And that time goes back to you, your relationships, your rest, your life. Okay? The missing piece for most people isn't access to AI, it's having the frameworks that make AI produce copy that makes sales. And that is exactly what Million Dollar Email is built to do. And my new Million Dollar Email AI Copywriting Suite is built to do. Now, in my next episode, I'm going to show you how to get AI to actually write a high-converting email.
