Everyone thinks you need more new business to make more money. I think that's wrong. There are only 3 ways to grow a business: get new clients, get existing clients to buy more, get existing clients to buy more frequently from you. That's it. And 2 out of the 3 live inside your existing customer base. Yet most owners obsess over the front door—ads, funnels, lead gen, more traffic—while the back door is wide open. I call it the backdoor conundrum. You're chasing new revenue while ignoring the clients who actually already trust you. It's cheaper and it's faster, it converts better, and it compounds. So before you spend another pound on ads, just ask, have I maximized the people who already bought from me? If not, you don't have a lead problem, you have a retention problem.
