Broker Call From Seller Answered On Speaker at Live Event

This is a YouTube video titled "Broker Call From Seller Answered On Speaker at Live Event" recorded in February 2025. It features a live event conversation primarily between Kyle Mallien and Alicia, discussing Alicia's strategies and experiences in brokering business deals, including a live phone call with a broker named Paula. The discussion covers deal negotiations, contract assignments, and creative deal structuring, highlighting Alicia's progress and success in the business brokering game taught by Kyle.
Alicia, last year you came to the Carlsbad event. I gave you a scholarship for 12 months. I put you on game to get into this game. Right. Is this your core strategy or. Tell me your core strategy. Yeah. How does it work for you?
It's been quite successful. I kind of take it a little step further because I negotiate and actually write the lois and then I try to flip it. Yeah.
So you assign the contract to the buyer.
Yep.
Yeah. How many of those deals have you done?
I did one just this year at the beginning of the year. And then the seller backed out. I mean, the buyer backed out. The buyer. Okay. All right. And then I have two more that are in negotiation right now. Like they should be getting signed this week. Okay. And so it's been going well.
2025, we're going to have you up here.
Yeah.
You didn't know anything about this game in 2024. You came with your six year old.
Son, Oren, who I just talked to at the time. He's seven now. Yep. And without you, I would not be able to do any of this and do for him and have the freedom and it's been. Thank you. Thank you.
No, I appreciate you. I can't wait to see you on stage next year.
You got it.
So she writes the loi. Well, how much is your fee in those two.
Couple of two, three deals I usually take. Like, I can do either or. Actually, the broker for the one deal is calling now. She's probably going to tell me.
Put it on speaker. I'll close it.
Hey, Paula.
Hi there. How are you, Alicia?
I'm doing phenomenal. How are you?
I'm doing well, thank you. So, you know, Mike's been really thinking hard about the fall. Yeah, Actually feeling pretty good about it.
I love this. Does he want to sign?
I think what's really impressed him is how determined you've all been. He said, wow, they must really like my company. I said, yeah, Mike, I think they do.
Yeah.
So he said he set up appointments. He. He's inclined to sign, but he wanted to meet with his advisors on Tuesday and if they agree, then he will sign.
All right, well, I will be looking forward to hearing from you.
Okay. And you have that. It expires on the 7th, so I just want to give you a heads up.
Don't worry about it. We'll wait for Tuesday.
Sounds good. Thanks, Alicia.
Thanks for the update, Paula.
You bet.
Bye for now.
I swear to God that's not scripted. I swear to God that's not scripted. That is so not Scripted. I was like, is Alicia still here? That's incredible.
No, I didn't even expect her to call today. But yeah, I knew it was coming. I'm like, it's coming. So this deal is an electrical company in Virginia. And I had two guys. It was one guy who wanted to buy it, and I was trying to go and deal, scout for him specifically. I knew his buy box. I was looking for stuff. And he did not. He was not the best person to take this business. He didn't know the industry, but he wanted it. So what I did was I introduced him to a guy who had skills in that industry, who grew companies, and I made them meet each other. And I said, this is your new partner.
Yeah, exactly what I was just saying, right?
And then, yeah, I'm a strategist. Like, he taught me the game. I just brought all the strategies. So I made them introduce. They hit it off. And so I said, now this is your operator, and now you're just an investor. And so this one I just talked to someone about, but it's very, very different because most of the time when I write the Lois, it's very straightforward. It's to the point. It's yes or no, I'm in and out. And this one, he said that we had a broker who was being a broker, he wanted 2.2. It's a literally, it's like a 1.25 multiple. We're killing it.
It's crazy deal.
It's crazy. Yeah. And so he wanted 2.2. He came back, he said, tell them that I want to do it for 1.8. And I said, okay, I'll write it. But no, still a fact. I write it. I wrote that the same hour, 1.8. Here you go. He came back heavy, said, I really feel bad. I feel like I'm not getting enough or whatever. I said, would he be open to a creative structure? She said, he'll think about it. So what I wrote back is he wanted 2.2. I said, we'll give you 2.2. We'll give you the 1.8 up front and you'll do a forgivable Note for the 400,000. If your revenue stays above 3 point whatever, 6 for the first year, then we'll give you the 200,000. Second year, 3.8. We'll give you the 200,000. But you're staying in the business. You're going to work. You're going to probably work like five hours a week. We'll still pay your salary, but you're going to help them replace that client that you lost. And you'll help them grow it. And you'll still see a piece of the uptick because we're leaving you with a percentage. Blah, blah, blah. Well, you just heard. He likes it, so we'll see.
What's the fee on that?
I'm going to make 5% of the 2.2.
Yeah, that'll pay some bills. Congratulations, Alicia.
