How to Love Your Body & Build a Healthy Lifestyle That Lasts with Alondra Sanchez

In this episode of The Biohack Method, host Lindsey Burwell interviews Pilates instructor and community‑builder Alondra Sanchez. Alondra shares how losing 55 pounds sparked a broader transformation that went beyond weight loss to include mindset shifts, the intentional shedding of unaligned friendships, and a focus on self‑love. She describes her early reliance on treadmill cardio, the subsequent realization that building muscle, improving sleep, managing stress, and proper nutrition were essential for sustainable health. Alondra explains how she moved from an ‘all‑or‑nothing’ workout mentality to a ‘less‑is‑more’ approach, now training three days a week and prioritizing recovery. Central to her mission is creating inclusive, women‑focused community events in Arizona that romanticize movement, empower participants, and foster genuine connections beyond superficial social‑media aesthetics. She discusses the challenges of navigating overwhelming fitness trends online and emphasizes returning to fundamentals—hydration, sleep, consistent nutrition, and mindset work. Alondra also promotes her upcoming in‑person workshop “The Algorithm for Your Next Level” (September 26, Scottsdale) and provides her social media handles (TikTok/Instagram @alandrasanchez_ and business page Simplicity Co. Movements) for listeners to join her community.

Like I mentioned, when I was losing the weight, I had nobody. You know, my friends no longer— me and them weren't aligning, right? Like, I wanted to work out and they wanted to go to the bars. So it was like, like you mentioned earlier, just shedding friends but leaving room for me to align with the right women.
That's so, so powerful. Actually, I was listening to something the other day, and it was the reminder that in order to call in, like, the version of yourself that you're working Towards the next evolution, the life that you want, you have to shed and open up space for that version to come in, for the universe to bring that inside, right?
Welcome to The Biohack Method. I am Lindsey Burwell. I break down the science, cut the fluff, and give you real tools to optimize your body with peptides, transdermal patches, and root cause biohacking that actually works.
Hey, guys, real quick before we jump into today's episode, I want to remind you that I am hosting The Algorithm for Your Next Level on September 26th in Scottsdale, And you guys, it's been a minute, like truly an entire year since I've hosted an in-person workshop like this. And honestly, it might be the only one I'm doing for 2026. So if you've been feeling called to get in the room with me, this is the room. We're going to go deep into the exact algorithm I use with myself and thousands of women I have worked with to create their next level, from building the foundations your body actually needs Utilizing personalized data instead of throwing spaghetti at a wall and just guessing what your body needs. Detoxing, blood sugar optimization to really tap into fat stores for energy and see that metabolic switch, that physical transformation, the nervous system regulation. And I think a piece I think so many high-performing women are missing— energy alignment and becoming the version of you that can actually hold your next level. This is for the woman who is doing All the things, working hard, taking care of herself, doing the work. It's perfect macros, perfect diet, doing 90% more than all of her friends, and still knows there is another level available to her. We are bringing together the science, the strategy, the energy in one room. September 26th, Scottsdale, Arizona. The link to grab your ticket is in the show notes. Head over to my Instagram. I cannot wait to see you there.
Welcome back to the Biohack Method podcast. I am so excited because I have a dear friend, Alondra, here with me. She is a Pilates instructor. I actually met her at a wellness event that she was hosting and leading Pilates. And when I listened to her mission on bringing women together for not just physical transformation, but life transformation through community and loving your body, I knew I like needed to know your story and needed to know you more. And since then, we've actually got to do a few events together.
Correct.
Most recently at the PATCH Method 1-year birthday party. And that is where I learned that you're a badass body, like, boss. I'm like, this girl knows business. And so I'm so excited to have you on today. Your business acumen is really great.
Thank you.
You're not just beautiful, but you're incredibly smart. Yeah. So, um, I couldn't wait to have her on just to hear her story too. We were kind of talking about that, and her story I feel women can really relate to because transformation is not just what you eat and the workouts you do. And sometimes it requires versions of yourself that you have to shed. And, um, also just the importance of community, the importance of us needing to be with like-minded people to raise our frequencies and to get us into that next version of ourselves. So welcome, Alondra. Thank you so much for being here.
Thank you for having me.
I'm so excited to be here.
You are amazing.
You're a natural. Actually, share with us how you manifested this, and it was on your vision board.
Yes. So the beginning of this year, obviously I started this business now a few months ago, and this beginning of the year I was putting my vision board together, and being on a podcast was one. And so this morning I got up and I was like looking it over. I was like, wow. Today's the day.
Alondra's in her manifesting era.
I love it.
Oh my gosh. Okay, take, take me back. Like, what has your life been like? Like, how did you get to this version of yourself now that is not just like health-centric and care about health, but like you are very much in the movement of creating community, transforming your mindset, like really bringing women to believe like their body is beautiful, not broken. So like, what got you here?
Um, the fact that I didn't feel that, you know. So after high school, I was kind of in that transition phase of like, what's going to happen with my life? What am I doing? And the biggest thing was my weight. I was obviously a lot heavier. I lost 55 pounds. Yeah. And that really kickstarted everything. I mean, I just felt very insecure. I had no confidence, obviously, no accountability, no Real friends that motivated me to do that, or to seek you know bettering myself. So I really spent a lot of time, you know, at the gym. Just like I think at that time I was working at a gym, so I would love to connect with the residents and staff and everything. So I would be at the gym all the time. Well, before I knew it, I just kind of fell in love with being at the gym. Like I think that at one point I was going to the gym. To just like decompress. It wasn't anymore like focusing on my appearance; it was just to decompress. And I kid you not, before I knew it, I was 55 pounds lighter. However, it wasn't I feel like the healthiest way because I spent a lot of time just on the treadmill, right? Everybody thinks like I want to lose weight. Let me hop on the treadmill. Like I'm going to shed the weight. Although you do shed some weight, I also felt like weaker and my body I just wasn't building muscle. I wasn't eating good. My my stress, my sleep was awful. So that's where I really took a step. Back and really dialed in on all of that. Like, I focused on my nutrition, I focused on my sleep, my stress levels, all of that. And from there, yeah, I started gaining muscle, felt amazing, you know, within and without. And I was like, wow, if I feel great and I know that, you know, I'm sure other women, this is something that they're wanting to seek but may not know who to, you know, reach out to, then I want to be that person for them. So I got certified. I became a personal trainer, and I've worked exclusively with women for the past seven years, just transforming their bodies. You know, within my community of women last year, I realized that they—I was kind of starting to see like a slippery slope kind of effect of them wanting to work out and wanting to change their body, but seeing it more of like a chore where I was like, wow! I want to shift that mindset, right? Like I don't want women to see working out as a chore. They should be grateful. They should. They're able to move their bodies. So I really got dialed in on building a community that romanticized movement, romanticized movement, community connection, empowerment, because that was so huge for me. You know, and like like I mentioned, when I was losing the weight, I had nobody. You know, my friends no longer me and them weren't aligning right. Like I wanted to work out and they wanted to go to the bars. So it was like like you mentioned earlier, just shedding friends. But leaving room for me to align with the right women.
That's so, so powerful. Actually, I was listening to something the other day, and it was the reminder that in order to call in like the version of yourself that you're working towards, the next evolution, the life that you want, you have to shed and open up space for that version to come in, for the universe to bring that, that inside, right? And so part of literally expanding and growing is going through a season of shedding. I don't know about you, but like, I, I also went through a season of shedding with friends. I've had to go through many seasons of shedding of thoughts and beliefs and versions of myself that were not in alignment of who I wanted to be and what I wanted to embody and what I wanted to become. And I was even, you know, talking earlier today about how we are, we are all meant to evolve, right? We're not here to be the same version of ourselves that we were born into. Like, we're meant to grow and learn and evolve. That's the beautiful part of life. And sometimes that means a contract with a friend or a group of people ends. You know, like you, you, you, they brought, you brought, you know, you had a time with them, you had experiences with them, but that contract is end. It taught you what it needed to teach you, and now it's time to kind of like move, move on, you know? And that's hard sometimes for the ego. And even just thinking about too, you're the average of like the 5 people you surround yourself with. So if you're like, I want a snatched body, health and vitality, but you're hanging Being around people that are partying Thursday through Sunday, that are very like lack-minded, scarcity-minded, um, like it's going to be significantly harder to live into that dream life when you're in that surrounding constantly. And so I'm sure that's what you experienced.
Yeah. And that's something I want to encourage too, that it's okay to have different friends as you're aging, right? Because like you just said, you're outgrowing them, not necessarily in a bad way. There are some friends that I know back from high school that I absolutely love and adore them, But we're just not aligning, right? Like, and it's, it's not a terrible thing. And it's, it's something that it's a hard pill to swallow because some women want to be loved and liked and have so many friends. And they think that that is what, you know, the correct way to grow and whatnot. But I think for me, it's like what you just said is like really finding that group of like 3, 4 girls that you really align with that like in a way you guys are just empowering each other and bouncing ideas off each other. I say this all the time, like me and my friends, we're hanging out in my living room and we're all on computers just bouncing ideas and, you know, what's next? Oh my gosh, I want to conquer this. I want to travel here. I want to, you know, and it's like, those are the kind of conversations.
Totally. Have expansive friends who are like, yeah, girl, go chase your dreams. Exactly. And not like, jealous of you chasing your dreams and that like can't handle you chasing your dreams. And just knowing too, what I love is that you're building something for people to find friends like that, you know, because I have had seasons in my life where I didn't have that. And so I love that you're building that community, which also is so cool because I feel like there's a shift with people who are wanting to get out and connect. Like, there in Arizona particularly, there's a lot of health events and like, you know, classes to take like on the weekends. And so I love that you've kind of been like the pioneer in that.
So talk a little bit. Talk about it.
Yeah, I know. So Tell us like what prompted that and like what are those experiences like?
So besides just my weight loss, um, a year like ago I was in like a 3-year relationship. That was all I knew, right? It was just my partner. Um, I had no friends because again, like I was kind of like outgrowing them. I was doing my own thing. So I was that girl that was shy to go to events by myself. Um, I didn't know how I was gonna get out and like you said, in the world and make friends because everybody's so used to their little friend groups. Um, so that was honestly one of the big reasons why I created this. I wanted to create aligned friends and communities and make it— or visualize that it is okay to go out and talk to a stranger because at the end of the day, you really never know how, how connected you guys can be. You know, I mention this all the time in all my events. I met my best friend at one of my events. I met my Business partners at some of my events, you know, like these are just women that I connected with, and it took me stepping out of my comfort zone, which was making these events, but also like romanticizing and showing women that it's okay to say hi to your neighbor because you never know how much alike you guys can actually be. And you know, that is something that I don't think is shown as much now on Instagram because everybody just shows like the highlights and the good stuff of. You know what's going on, but deep down, like there's so much more that you guys can connect and help each other out. Yeah, without even knowing. I love that.
What is like your your daily or what is like your day look like when it comes to health and supplements and maybe like exercise? Like how are you right now taking care of your body?
So I am actually, believe it or not, working with a trainer myself.
Yeah, there you go.
Yes, I just felt that with me focusing on all my clients, my business, and everything, I was not pouring into myself. Yeah, and I always say this: you can't pour from or you can't.
What is it? Yeah, pour from an empty cup.
Yeah, totally. Um, and that's exactly what I was doing, right? I was so focused on everybody else, I wasn't taking care of myself. I wasn't working out, I wasn't eating great. Um, so I got a trainer, and now, believe it or not, I'm actually working out less than what I was before. Yeah. So he really— isn't that engraved in me that less is more, you know? Because like, I think you guys I heard of it earlier where we're always on our fight or flight mode. And for me, before, for so many years, it was like, oh my gosh, I got to work out 5 days a week, 6 days a week to keep my body the way it looks. And the biggest thing too that I think got to me was at some like point I did get a little bit of body dysmorphia because I felt like I am the platform. I feel like I am my product. I don't sell a service, right? So if I gain a little bit of weight, like, are people going to trust me? Oh my gosh, like, she's a little chubby or she doesn't have the Biggest butt, you know, like those are just little things that were going in my head or like like going crazy in my head. That once I kind of put all that like negativity aside and just like really poured into myself and taking care of myself and not paying so much attention to what other people think of how you look, you know, I've heard this too where it's like we are our biggest critics.
We are right. People are not looking under a microscope. No, we are not.
And it's like nobody is as mean as you can be to yourself. So I think that that's super important that you really just, you know, pour into yourself. And for me right now, I am doing only 3 days of weight training, which is super, super crazy. Yeah, it took some time to be like, oh my gosh, wait, I'm not working out today? Like, it's my rest day? Like, yeah, this is okay. Yeah. And I feel like I've seen the best results, or my— I've felt the best I've ever felt.
Well, it's so true because when— if you are breaking down muscle every day, you're not creating space for that muscle to regrow back.
You're just like break—
re-breaking it down.
And I think I had to work through that too, of like less is more and not like not going hard every single day in our workouts. Because not just that, like it is so depleting on the body. Like you, how are you supposed to show up and do other work when you're just wrecking your body, depleting your energy sources right off the gate?
You know what I mean?
And that's where I kind of blame social media. Yeah. You know, because nowadays you see all these trends, right? Pilates, yoga. Weight train and drink this. And like, there's so much going on that— so much information that is very overwhelming. Yeah, especially if like, you know, you're how I was a few years ago and you're trying to lose weight. You're like, oh damn, I'm supposed to do all of this, right? And like you mentioned, like, I have to work out so many times a day or whatever, I gotta eat this. It's like, really focus on the fundamentals of it, right? And building muscle, rest, sleep, energy, like that. And from there, I think it just creates like a healthy lifestyle overall where you genuinely enjoy doing these kind of things.
Like, you have to get to a place too of like, what is realistic for me to do that I can stick to? Because it compounds. Like, going all or nothing and like, you know, eating like one apple one day and then like the next day like 12 donuts, like that's what actually wrecks, you know, your body. But like, it's the small unsexy shifts, right? It's the hydration, going to bed early, it's the mindset work, it's like the proper nutrition. Like the unsexy things that you just do over time that compound for like the actual transformation, right?
And that's something that I always encourage in my girls, that I'm not here to completely like change your day-to-day activities. I'm here to make it better slowly but surely, right? Like I always say, Rome was not built in one day. Yeah, we're not gonna get 50 pounds lighter in a month, right? Like there's girls that come to me and they're like, hey, I have a wedding in 3 months and I gotta, you know, dial in right now. And I'm like, okay, love that. But like, what happens after these 3 months? Or what happens after the wedding? Like, everything you just worked is gonna go like down the drain? Like, no, like, let's enjoy the process of it. Let's actually focus on creating a healthy lifestyle without like restricting you, right? Where I love the whole 75 Hard, and I think that that's great. But I also think that it's terrible because you almost like stop yourself from eating and drinking and this and that, that when you do reach the 75 days, what do you want to do? Like, you want to binge, you want to splurge, you want to go crazy, and then you've lost it all.
Transformation absolutely has to start from a place of self-love, because when it comes from a place of like restriction and like hating your body or feeling like you did something wrong and so you have to like fix it, no good energy flows from a place of like contraction and restriction, right? Like, but when you like love your body and you speak life over your body and you believe in your body's ability to heal, like, it will work at a different frequency. You'll also make different decisions and take different actions or inactions. You'll feed yourself differently. You might dress differently. You're going to show up differently, which ultimately that is also what's compounding into full-body life transformation, right? It's not just like this one crazy diet that you did 2 workouts a day, you know what I mean? It's like starting even just from a place of self-love, right?
And that's the beauty too of like achieving like a win, right? Is like I tell my clients, like, do you feel better? Do you feel more energized? Do you sleep better? Oh my gosh, how's your stress level? Have you paid attention to that? How does that one shirt that you, you know, started with in the beginning of the program, how does it feel now? You know, so like those are the small wins that I I don't think we celebrate enough. It's more of like, well, the number on the scale is not moving. It's like, okay, well, hey, what— guess what, babe? Like, we're gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, so it's not going to fluctuate, you know? So I think those are just little things that I think that women nowadays are so carried away with, like Instagram and, you know, numbers and this and that, that it's scary. Yeah, you know, but so huge.
Oh my gosh, I'd love to like dive into kind of a sensitive topic because I know a lot of women who've had weight loss transformations, there can be like a season of like the mental work of the fear of the weight coming back. Like, has that ever been a thing for you?
I feel like when I ever— whenever I show anybody like my before and after picture, the first question is like, well, how, how fast was that?
How fast was that exactly?
And, you know, I'm always like, well, you know, my life has been a roller coaster. So I think that, um, Once, like you just said, once you actually enjoy what I'm doing, like going to the gym and training and wanting to really get better for myself, I don't think I've ever feared gaining weight again because I'm like, I know I can just— I know what to do.
Yeah.
Right? So I think that it's like you just mentioned earlier, just loving the process. You know, that when I did lose the weight, I think for me it was like Not staying stagnant. Like once I lost the weight, it's like okay cool. Like now let's build muscle, and now you know let's let's incorporate different training methods. So I think that I never really went through a I'm scared I'm gonna lose the weight because I just really enjoyed everything that I was doing. I didn't see it again like a chore, and that's my favorite part of my events are girls. They're like smiling from ear to ear, super stoked, and I'm like you know we're gonna work out, right? Like you know this is like a fun. It's an event, but we're working out.
Yeah.
And they love it, right? Like, that's what it should be about. It shouldn't be like, oh my God, I have to work out.
You know, it's like joy and— yeah, joy and pleasure are like the highest frequencies. Like, when you can get in a place of joy, and that can— and like, definitely through movement, definitely through exercise. If you're just like going through the motions, pissed off that you have to work out, like, no good fruits will be borne from that, right?
And same thing with my events. It's like that there's so many thoughts that was put into these events or my events in so many ways, right? Like the pink is like, let's romanticize women, right? Like the pink, like themes, everyone wears pink is like, go get a pink outfit. Like treat it like a date with yourself, right? Like if I'm going out with my girls, I'm going to go get me a cute little outfit. Like I'm throwing on a little bit of makeup. Like I'm just feeling good because I feel like I say this to everybody. It's like, if you feel good, you look good. Yeah. You know, like, or if you look good, you feel good. Yeah. So that was like my— But also when you feel good, you look good.
Yeah, I'm like, people feel this, you know? Like, yeah, you could have a perfect body and be like so low vibes, and it's like, that doesn't look good, you know?
And I, and I would run into that a lot too in Scottsdale. Um, I felt like in the beginning when I started doing events, because again, I wanted to make everything look perfect, right? So I would gather like the prettiest girls that Scottsdale has, which is a lot. Yeah, beautiful women in Scottsdale. Um, and I kept getting messages of girls being like, hey, I'm a little bit overweight, can I still come? Or, hey, I'm a little intimidated because you have these girls that are like all done up. And I'm like, oh my gosh, I'm creating something I don't want to create, right? Like, without even trying, I'm over here trying to pull influencers and pull everybody and make it look like, oh, this is, you know, that's not what people want. Like, people want to come to a place where they're gonna feel seen and feel like they kind of fit in without physically looking the part, you know? But So that's when I kind of like took a step back and I was like, wow, like I am really like wanting to focus on bringing different females in like different shapes, sizes, ages, you know, because again, we all need women. And after doing over 45, 50 events, I'm realizing that like I've capped out at 60+ girls every event.
It's amazing.
I'm like, everybody needs women, I guess, right? Yeah, we all need each other. So it just, it shows that That community is so important. It's so important.
I love that. Okay, so Alondra, for anyone listening to this that either A, lives in Arizona, or if they don't live in Arizona, where can they find you and get connected into this incredible community and start doing the work that you do?
So I love TikTok and Instagram. Everybody always sees me and they're like, you're that pink girl from TikTok, right? I'm like, yeah, that's me. So you can find me on TikTok, Alondra @alandrasanchez_ or Instagram @alandrasanchez_. And then my business page is Simplicity Co. Movements.
Amazing. And then you have that community for people who maybe don't live here but want to get connected to like-minded women.
Yeah, so you can actually come on my business account and it is on my bio, but it's through school. Um, you can find me on there.
It's amazing. I love that you created that. So powerful.
Yeah, I'm excited.
