So I think curiosity is the key to growth. And even with ourselves, like when we're experiencing resistance, why am I feeling resistant? And you might not get the answers right away. And so I would say don't stop when you feel frustrated. Lean in to the frustration because that's always the breaking point. The frequency of frustration is actually very weak and low. Same thing with fear. So I say come toe to toe with fear, come toe to toe with frustration. Because when you acknowledge it, that's when that frequency will break and shatter. That's when the chain will break, and then you have your next question.
Welcome to The Biohack Method. I am Lindsey Burwell. I break down the science, cut the fluff, and give you real tools to optimize your body with peptides, transdermal patches, and root cause biohacking that actually works. Welcome back to The Biohack Method podcast. I am so excited today because I have the incredible Sam Harper here. She has such an incredible story. Actually, I remember like meeting you at that dinner and knowing— I just felt her energy. And then getting to know her story and just how she works a lot with sound bath, and she is a spiritual coach and energetics coach, but also has a background in trauma therapy and neuroscience. I was so fascinated. And the reason why I brought her on to share her story today is because biohacking is obviously something I'm obsessed with. I love talking about exercise, diet, all the tools and, and all the things you can use to biohack your body at the cellular level. But just my like expansion and journey I'm on this year, like really tapping into energetics and alignment and spirituality, knowing our body is not just a physical being, right? Like really looking holistically at the body as an emotional piece, a spiritual piece, and a physical piece. And so I've just learned even so much like watching you, Sam, and like listening to your story and all the things that you do. So thanks so much for being here.
Wow, what an intro. Thank you for having me. And I'm so excited to drop into a really fun exciting conversation with you, and it's been beautiful to see your evolution even in like the last year and a half, honestly. So, you know, I always say I rise, you rise, and like I just feel like you're such an epitome of that.
You're so amazing. Oh my gosh. So tell me about how you got to this work. So because you were doing neuroscience, like brain trauma therapy, so how did that shift into now the work you're doing today?
You know, it's same same but different. Yeah, I like to call it like therapy light now. I don't get into the deep traumas. I absolutely can; that's my expertise. I loved my work as a therapist, but I didn't love the system because there was a lot of limitations in the system, and there just parts of it weren't settling in my in my system anymore. And so I found my way evolving out of that in in starting my own business, and that came it. With its own journey of, you know, trial and tribulation and all the things that we all know as entrepreneurs. But yeah, I started out as a trauma therapist, worked in behavioral health for almost a decade before I transitioned out and then started working with high-level CEOs and executives. I would say I'd bring the woo-woo to the corner office, but like incognito. So I would use their language, I would match their language so that they could allow me through the threshold of these corner offices. And then once I was in, I'm like, okay, here's the good stuff. Now let's talk about, energy, right? And it was really during COVID where the fourth wall kind of broke down and all of the CEOs I was working with were— could not run away from themselves, could not use the same leadership tactics that they had always been using, found themselves, found themselves.
Yes. Period. Yes.
But also were like, I do not know who I am. I do not know what is going on. Like, help me understand this. And that is when I was able to really bridge the gap between just the psychology piece, organizational psychology, and energetics. And that's when things like really took off for me in that space, while simultaneously starting to do public community sound baths. And I thought back in 2020, I'm like, oh, I'm an accessory, like my business is gonna go, right? Like this is not gonna work. And it's the quite opposite happened, and that's when my business really took off. And I was like, oh right, people need to know who they are on a deep level. That's never going to change. And so I'm so grateful, and like, I have the best job security ever. AI can never take over my job, which is amazing.
Yeah.
Um, but the evolution has been beautiful and really expansive and has evolved so much since I started. So I've had my own business now for Going on 9 years, and everything has changed with how people receive, how fast people integrate, and what is accessible to them, and all these new biohacking things that are available to us. So it has been a wild ride.
Yes. No, I was going to ask what you have noticed in the last 6 years, too, of people realizing they are more than just these meat suits, really. They are more than our in their body, you know, they're more than just like the diet and the lifestyle, like, we are energetic beings. And I love that even just a little bit ago, we were kind of talking about our own, you know, identity shifting just even recently. And for me, this last year, I experienced true energetic alignment from a season of shedding, because I think that, you know, pain has a way of dissolving the ego, where you really have to face, you know, who am I? And those are very intentional times, are very beautiful times. I know that in the seasons I've been front-loaded with trauma and trials and pain, although it was so tight and contracting, I always knew there was something on the other side of the resistance, like a lesson or something I was going to need to steward later on. And I think that's what's helped me really co-create then the work that I'm doing today. But this last year has been Crazy when I had that huge shedding, and I started really waking up to like who am I and what am I here to do, and just how that has like evolved. And so I've just been this year even wrestling with like who is Lindsay if she doesn't just talk about health? And I've seen people in my life kind of walk away. Usually people who are insecure in their own bodies and their own selves can't handle watching someone else evolve because it triggers the ego. Right? Like, change triggers the ego and it makes it feel like something has gone wrong, something is not safe, something is bad here. And the only way— what I have learned for somebody to protect themselves is to try to bring you back to where they are at or where you were, because that is what is safe for them.
Oh my gosh, there is so much in everything that you just said. And it is so true. Like, when you start to evolve, for one, it is the light. Right? So when your light starts to amplify and you're turning up the wattage of the light and it's not so dim anymore, and you're coming out of your dark night of the soul, and people who have been next to you start to feel and see and experience the light, and it shows them where they're not shining. And it's a really, really tough spot to be in if you're not willing to look at yourself. And, you know, that's where all the projection starts to You know bleed out on other people. But I think I always say this: I'm like it's medicine either way. You're either going to shine bright, and then it's going to be medicine for somebody to be like, "Oh, she did it. I can do it." Wow! I'm watching her transform right in front of my eyes. Or it's going to be medicine for the person who's like, "I don't know what's going on here. I'm not sure if I like it." Maybe not even being able to explain why they don't like it. It's just making them uneasy, and that will set them on the their own personal trajectory and journey of healing. And you know what? None of it is our business. What is your business is shining and coming into yourself and owning yourself and taking up all of that space that you are meant to take up, right? And I think, you know, that is where the questioning of identity starts to click in of like, okay, well, I was this person before. I am not quite the same. But I'm not totally different.
Yeah.
And that's where the questions come in.
Yeah. And it's like, it's like the gray area too. What, what can feel a little bit uncomfortable when you're not— when you're in like an expanding time, because it's maybe something you've never seen before or felt before, but it's like meant to be that journey to like reveal what it's like guiding you to.
It's always, it's always revealing something. Yeah. So how How much can we surrender and let go of needing to know what it looks like and just enjoying the process of like, huh, I wonder what is going to happen today? Like staying very curious and open.
One thing too I have experienced this year, so I used to be so perfect and dialed in with like everything I did health-wise, right? The diet, the exercise, the biohacks. And looking back, I did heal from a lot of inflammation. I did heal from a lot of my health stuff I was dealing with, but This year in particular, I've had a huge like physical shift in my cells, and I have not changed anything. If anything, I have changed—it's loosening the grip on all the things and just really becoming more aligned and like coming home to myself and my belief in my body and things like that—that I've seen the greatest shifts, which it's like I've just been talking more about. It's like not just the biohacking of tools, but it's like tapping into like our inner knowing, our self-healing machine. So I'm curious: Have you have you ever like been? through that, like where it was like you dialing more into coming home and like energy work that you notice shifts within a health experience.
Absolutely. So I have had chronic illnesses my whole life basically and have healed from those, and I'm a 3-time cancer survivor. And just like the recovery after all of that too, that's the only thing that I can really say now that keeps me grounded and healthy in my body and safe in my body and regulated from a nervous system standpoint is tapping into the wisdom of my body. And I speak over my cells every single day before bed. Like, I will literally lay in bed as my eyes are closing and say, okay cells, you're going to recover, you're going to anti-age. Yeah, you're, you're going to wake up snatched.
You're going to wake up snatched.
Like, I will speak healing over my body. Yeah. Because our— we are energetic beings. Everything is listening. Yeah. And it's going to listen to all the noise or it's going to listen to you, which science actually proves this.
So, um, there's a study where they took water molecules literally under a microscope and they spoke negative words— you're ugly, you're broken, you suck— and like the water literally was breaking, right?
Right.
And then they would speak love and light and like, you're incredible, you're a healer, you're beautiful, and the water molecules will literally come together, just showing the power of Thoughts and words and just energy. Like, and so I love that. I've been, I've been getting into that too, like visualizing speaking over my body, over my cells, breathing life into those cells. Yeah, it's so powerful.
I like to do like little tapping on my body too to just like wake up the body. Not necessarily EFT. I love EFT though. But just tapping on the body like, okay, you're awake, you're listening, you're here, you're present. And now here's the direction. The direction is we are safe, we are happy, we are healthy, we are recovering, you know, and go on and on and on and on and on. Yeah. Your body, you're gonna feel that. Yeah, that's so good.
So for someone who's listening that is like never really tapped into this work, they've just lived life on autopilot, standard American lifestyle, just do, do, do, and BBB. And when they hear the word energy or woo, they maybe haven't identified with like the need dive into that, but they're like, woo, curious, if you will. Like, where would, where would be a great place for somebody just to kind of pause and start to come home to themselves?
Honestly, I think the easiest thing to do with that is just be curious and like ask a question. So let's say you feel contracted, like something happened, you feel that contraction in your body, you don't— you're like, ugh, I don't know. What I like, what this is, right? Ask, where did that come from?
Or even—
so we are conditioned certain different ways, right? Everybody was brought up differently. But even certain foods, is that the food that feels good to your body? Or are you just eating it because this is what you know? So when you are waking up in the morning and you are like, I do not feel so good. Why do I not feel so good? What is this? What was it?
Yes.
Why am I still doing that? Is it because I am choosing it or because somebody else chose it for me? So I think curiosity is the key to growth. And even with ourselves, like when we are experiencing resistance, why am I feeling resistant? And you might not get the answers right away. And so I would say do not stop when you feel frustrated, lean in to the frustration, because that is always the breaking point. The frequency of frustration is actually very weak and low.
Yes.
Same thing with fear. So I say come toe to toe with fear, come toe to toe with frustration, because when you acknowledge it, that's when that frequency will break and shatter. That's when the chain will break. And then you have your next question.
And even just the acknowledgment of the feeling, I find, gives you the space to proceed forward versus having it like hold you by the threshold, you know, like I, I always think about like my triggers. Like if I'm like triggered by like something someone said or something that I saw, it's like pausing and being like, what is this triggering inside of me? And even what I've practiced is like listening and looking at it from a place of like a motherly love, not like, um, like judging the trigger or judging the experience I'm having, but like as a mom, a mama bear, like, yeah, like. Why? Like, why am I triggered by this? Why does this make me feel tight? And like digging into what might come up then and just even acknowledging that has like 1,000 bricks off my chest so I can like move forward.
Right. Because nobody else can answer that for you. Yeah. And so if you're talking about sovereignty and coming home to yourself, you have to be the one to ask yourself those questions. Yeah. And find the answers. Yeah. I love that.
What are you— is there anything you're working on right now or learning about in Just the world of energy that is lighting you up?
I am doing a lot right now for my clients and bringing out some new offers for my clients that I have been not holding back for years, but it has been siloed to a small bit of people. And now I am opening it up to everybody. And that is through the Frequency Blueprint. So figuring out what is your blueprint of your own personal Frequency.
I think this is so good. We'll pause here because, um, I attended that.
Yeah.
Your Frequency Blueprint. I was on that and I invited a few friends and we were just like so dialed into this training. It was so impactful too. You walked us really through the process of dropping in, number one, and then started talking about even like Human Design and gene codes. And so are you going to kind of go deeper with that than is through the blueprint, the Frequency Blueprint?
Yeah, so the progression is the frequency blueprint of like figuring out like what is the architecture of me, right? Like nothing is a mistake, and now we're just like piecing it together. And then that takes you into the manifesting masterclass that I have, which is a self-paced e-course on really truly figuring out manifesting, but not from like a la-di-da kind of place, but like the neuroscience and how the brain works with manifesting. And then that takes you into my frequency academy, which is my group coaching. Where I do break it down like very, very intricately on how to use all of these pillars and building blocks within your own system to, to then go and feel like, okay, I know who I am and I'm not clouded. And of course we're humans, like we're going to get clouded from time to time, but like you get crystal clear on who you are and you use frequency and you use the brain and you use everything in your environment. It's a really powerful like sequence. So I loved that you were at the book fair.
I know, I was like, this is so good. Oh my gosh, it really— and my friend was just about to go into like a plant medicine journey, so it was like the day after. So, and she had one of the most incredible experiences, and like she felt like that, um, really opened her up to that. So it was really— the timing was great.
Oh, I love that. That, that offer had like such good feedback. It was amazing. And that— so that one actually came to me intuitively. That was not part of my strategy. That was not part of my plan for this year. But when you listen to your channel and you feel what's going on and you get that hit of like, you have to do this and do this now, and you follow it, beautiful things happen. Like, I don't even know the extent of the ripple that came from that. And it was just a free 90-minute thing, right? I'm gonna do it again because it was really fun for me.
It was so good. And you did— you opened us with a little moment to regulate, which today you brought a little tool for us to experience as well. But that's what I love too, um, with the work that you do is— and I'm sure it's all about your practice, your personal practice, um, to start your day off every day— but starting with grounding.
Yeah.
Right? And like finding regulation and clarity. And you did that in that blueprint. It was like a moment to clear the energy and then to bring in like the frequency. So we were all in like not just alignment but a heart-opening space to receive.
Yes.
From ourself and from you.
Yes.
And so I thought that was so Beautiful, and I love that you brought your sound bowl today. Yeah, it is so beautiful, so fun.
I brought this practitioner bowl that this is a Tibetan bowl. It's from Nepal. It's really powerful, really beautiful. I play mostly with crystal bowls, but this one I can play like over a body, and I'll hear exactly what's off in somebody's body just from this. But it's a really beautiful regulator too. So should we do it? Yeah, let's do it. Yeah. So for anybody listening to you, I'll just invite you. To find a comfortable seat or like a just a moment of pause. And if you feel good to close your eyes, go ahead and do that. And take a nourishing deep inhale in through the nose and a sigh. Just let it go. Let your body go. Another deep inhale in and just allow the frequency to find you exactly where you're at. And here's that moment of curiosity of where do you feel this in your body? What does it feel like? What do you notice? Another deep inhale. Just allow this frequency to track through your body, and wherever your attention is being pulled, breathe into that space right now. And you can even ask your body, what are you trying to tell me? What's here? What do you want me to notice? I'm here. I'm listening. I'm present. Allow the frequency to enter through the top of the head, the crown, and find its way all the way through the center of your body. Through the soles of the feet, feeling grounded and planted and rooted exactly where you're at. One last deep inhale in. You can flicker your eyes open and then just notice the difference of that, what, 45 seconds? So good. It doesn't take long, and I think that's a really powerful thing about frequency is that It literally meets you exactly where you're at.
Yeah.
I always say you can't BS the bowls.
Yeah.
Because you can't lie your way through frequency.
Yeah.
And that's what I love so much about it. And it's a really powerful tool, and it's gentle, and it's loving, and it's kind.
Yeah.
And it's revealing.
Yeah.
And it's true.
What would you say, is it— so let's say someone is at home and they do not have, like, a sound bowl. Could they go on Spotify and put on, like, a sound frequency, or is that not the same impact?
It's not quite the same because they compress those files.
Yeah.
Right? And so you're not going to get exact pure frequency.
Yeah.
It's going to be very relaxing. It will affect you for sure. Um, but we didn't even talk about this.
Yeah.
But you can come into my Sound Vault, which is like a sound healing membership. I have over 44 different sound baths in there, and those files are not compressed.
Oh my gosh. Okay. I didn't know that.
Yeah. So you can get true real frequencies.
I want to check that out because I— have you heard of Soak?
Yes.
It is like a sound. Yeah. So I was like listening to it and I was like, is this as powerful as like actual sound frequencies in real life? So I was wondering that.
Yeah. It depends on how they compress it or not. But the other thing too is like, I think we really desire Connection in real time, and so it is always going to be powerful in person than by yourself. But I think that there is something special by doing it by yourself because you can really let down all of the guards, all of the masks, and maybe release a little bit more. But there is power in both. And so I would not vote either out. I would keep them both integrated into your routine and allow the frequency to show you. Yeah, I love that.
Okay. Yeah. So for people who are listening, women who are listening that are like, okay, I wanna dive more into this. I wanna learn more about energy work and, and learning more about myself. Where could they find you and what would be a good place to start?
I love this. Well, I'm really active on Instagram. I'm sam_e_peace, Sammy Peace on TikTok as well. And then my website's easy, samanthaharper.com. And my sound vault is on there. So if you wanna get into the membership, it's It's on the website.
Okay, and you should totally do the Frequency Blueprint again.
You got it, girl.
I'd love to. You have to. It was so good. Oh my gosh, it was amazing. Well, thanks again so much for coming. I just love you so much.
I love you. Thank you for having me.
