The tapping is disruptor. So just by tapping on these acupuncture points, it started to calm my nervous system down. So I started to feel really relaxed. I felt like this massive weight that had been on my shoulders was lifted off.

Well, welcome, Jackie, to Let's Talk About It. I'm super excited. Let's talk about tapping and all of the things. Tell me where it came from. Like, there's got to be a moment where you were like, holy, this stuff works.
Yeah.
Oh, my gosh.
Well, thank you so much for having me. Lori and I often say that tapping. So if you guys are wondering what tapping is, it's not tap dancing. EFT tapping stands for emotional freedom techniques. Think of it as like acupuncture without needles combined with talk therapy. So you're tapping on acupuncture points on different spots on your face and body, and you're emotionally processing whatever is bothering you at the current time. And I often say it found me at my worst, brought me to my best, because 14 years ago, I was a new mom. I had my daughter at 19, and around the time that she was born, I had just a lot of tragic loss happen in a short amount of time. So we had a good friend was murdered nine days before she was born. We had. Within six months, we had five people pass away from different for different reasons. And so being a new mom, I and 19 years old, I had all these different body reactions that the doctors didn't have answers for. They're just like, you're a tired new mom. You're stressed, you'll get over it. But I did not feel like myself. And that's all I wanted was to feel like myself again. And so, you know, you kind of say a little prayer to the universe looking for an answer. And at the time I was staying at my mom's house, she had a friend of a friend that was coming through town and stopped by to say hi, and she was like, oh, I'm. I'm just learning this thing called tapping. EFT Tapping. EFT stands for emotional freedom techniques. And by the name of it, my mom was like, I think my daughter should try that with you. Would you give her a session? So, like in the basement of my mom's house, tapping on my face, talking about my feelings for two hours. And it just completely transformed my life. I, I really was able to understand the nervous system. First of all, I was in fight or flight because my core fear that came after the session was a fear of who was going to die next. And I had this little baby and I'm afraid that something's going to happen to her or something's going to happen to me. And it put my body in this perpetual fight, flight, freeze state that I couldn't get out of. And the tapping is a disruptor. So just by tapping on these acupuncture points, it started to calm my nervous system down. So I, I started to feel really relaxed. I felt like this massive weight that had been on my shoulders was lifted off. And then I slept for hours afterwards and I was like, wow, I don't know what that was, but I feel better. And one of the philosophies I have is like, when our nervous system is regulated, regulated, when we're relaxed, that's when we receive. And then I started to, things started to come into my life to help me heal. You know, I've met this person that introduced me to this naturopath that taught me about my adrenals. And I was like, oh, my adrenals are burnt out. And then Louise Hay's book came into my life. You know, it's just like all of a sudden I was in alignment. So my life started to fall into alignment. And then when my daughter was just under a year old, I decided I would get certified in it. And I did a nine month long training. And my mentor said to me, you are really good at this. And she said, if anyone had the excuse not to show up, it was you, because you have this new baby. And she gifted me two years of business mentoring from there. And I started then, obviously doing a lot of inner work because when you, when you get certified in tapping, you're tapping on your own stuff. So for two years I was like hyper focused on clearing all my stuff. I was only early 20s at this point, so I didn't have that much to work on. And then I started to share it with people I loved. And one of those people being my, my father, he was really sick. He had diabetes that led to kidney failure, that led to heart failure. And one day he was in the hospital and he hadn't, he hadn't moved, he wasn't doing well, he had just had a heart attack. And I had just done my level three training and I said, dad, can I just try this thing on you that I learned? It's called tapping. And he just was silent, like lied there with his eyes closed and just nodded his head. And so I, I started to work through with him. Bit by bit I took the side of his hand, I tapped on the side of his hand, started processing what I thought emotionally he might be feeling. And bit by bit, you know, he started to all of a sudden like open his eyes and started to feel better. And I was like, okay, I don't, like, is this working? Like it's worked for me? Will it work for someone else? And so then I start to see that he's, you know, brightening up and starting to feel better. Do another round of tapping. By the third round, he was able to sit up out of bed and, and walk to the bathroom, which the nurses were like, I don't know what you just did to him, but this is amazing. And so that really sparked the journey for me of not only using tapping to heal myself, but start healing others.
That's so powerful. And you said so much, I can't wait to pick your brain about all of it. I love that there was a moment for you, but then a moment like with someone else and especially a loved one, I mean, how, how incredible and impactful that is. And you, you said, you know, the nurses were like, oh, you know, oh my God, I don't know what you just, what do you say to the people who are like, it's a little woo, woo. Like even I like, I like evidence based stuff but then I do like a little woo.
Yeah, this is a great question. There is actually a ton of evidence around tapping that has come out in the recent years. There's a great book by Dr. PETA Stapleton called the Science of Tapping and they did a study specifically on people with eating disorders and how first of all, tapping can lower cortisol levels and keep them lowered long term. So that was one of the big results. The other one was the long term positive side effects of tapping. So not just it working instantly to lower your stress levels, but a year later, you know, people tapping on issues specifically around eating disorders or food still, their issues were still gone. So it, the long lasting positive side effects of tapping are very real. I always say to people that it is one of those things that's better experienced and explained. Like I can go all day long talking to you about how it works and where to tap, but until you actually go through a session on your. On your own or with me, if I lead you through, I can lead you through some tapping right now and see. Wow. Yeah. At the beginning, my pain in my neck or this anxiety in my chest was a 10. Now it's an 8, now it's a 4, now it's gone. And I always say in 20 minutes or less, I can usually get people down to a zero. Completely specifically around the topic of anxiety, because that's mainly. The people I work with are pretty high performers, and they're either holding stress in their body, having stress in their business or life. And so, yeah, that's my answer. You just gotta experience it, be willing to give it a try.
Yeah. You use the words receive or release. Receive and rise. Like, I see that in your content a lot.
Yeah.
And you mentioned that it allowed you to receive more. Like, you kind of said that when you were giving me the full explanation in the beginning. Tell me more about those three words and the importance of those in terms of this technique.
Yeah, well, I think in the. In the beginning, I said, I believe that when a woman is relaxed is when a woman receives. And I know that tapping, whether you believe in it or not, just learning the tapping points will relax your system. You'll. You'll have. You'll feel yourself yawning. You might feel like tears in your eyes. You'll just feel your whole system kind of exhale and take a deep breath. And the release to receive method is what. What I started to realize was happening for me. Life would present me with something that it's like, time to let this go. Whether it's a person, whether it's a situation, whether it's just a season of my life. And I would come up against resistance. Like, I don't want to let it go. I'm like, I remember sitting with girlfriends and I'd be like, you just need to let that guy go. And I'm like, I understand what you're saying, but I can't just, like, command myself to do that. And so I started tapping around things that I needed to let go of. And the resistance to letting it go started to lower. And as the resistance started to lower, good things started to come in. I was like, oh, it feels safe for me to let this go. Because it's one thing to tell yourself you need to let that go, but to actually feel safe letting it go. That's what the tapping started to do for me. And so I ended up having people. It's sort of a fun story, but I ended up having people start to come to me and say, I want you to teach me tapping. And I'd say, just no, like, go to someone else. Like, there's lots of people that certify I, I don't really teach, like, I don't really teach the same way as other people. And they're like, that's why we want to learn from you. And so around 2018, I decided to run a 21 day challenge for myself. I was like, I'm going to tap every day for 21 days, but I'm going to do it from this different frame of mind. Instead of just using tapping as a trauma tool, because that's what it's most famous for, I'm going to use it as more of a manifesting tool. I'm going to set an intention at the top of the 21 days what I want to create, and I'm going to just tap through it. And at the time I was single and I was like, I'm going to, I want to like have fun manifesting different dates. I had, like, I set up like really wild things in my head. Like, I want a guy to like take me on a picnic or whatever. Like, I was just like having fun with it. And I put it on my Facebook. I was like, hey, I'm going to do a 21 day tapping journey. Does anyone want to do it with me? And 180 people said yes and signed up and they did it with me. And it was wild. The messages I started getting, people were like, I just been tapping for five days, Jackie. And I just got my dream home in the new city I moved to. I just met the love of my life. I, I know someone from that particular journey in 2018 messaged me last year. She's like, by the way, that 21 days I was in another relationship, I left that relationship, met someone new, and today we have a baby boy together and a full. And it was all of a sudden I was like, whoa, what if I can just use tapping to start, like tapping towards what I want, manifest what I want. So I started running these 21 day programs and getting all these results. And then people kept saying to me, I want you to certify us. I want. And so I decided like about a year later, okay, I'm gonna run what is now known as tapping school. Just put another Facebook post out, had six people say yes. By 2020, we had. Now we're almost up to 300 people we've certified. But I had my first six figure month and like, tapping helped me build not only, like a better life for myself and my body, but a whole company that was impacting people all over the world.
That's so cool. And you know what's important about, like, bringing something to the world or doing it like your way is doing it your way. When I teach people to meditate, when I do that with my clients, we think of something like meditation, like, quiet your mind and be able to relax. My clients can't relax. Their minds aren't quiet. So to try to teach it from that perspective, they're like, you're out of your mind. But if I tell them, like, use meditation to get you to focus on what you want to focus on. Use a mantra, focus on your breathing, doing something. Not for the sense of trying to get them to quiet their minds. They're like, oh, this actually works. Yes. Like you were saying, it's great for trauma. But coming at it from that, like, manifestation, work toward what you want aspect is so cool because it's a different spin on something that works and has been proven. And I love that.
Thank you. Yeah, it. It was really fun to start attracting people that want it the same, because I know as a healer, lots of times people get. Get stuck in the loop of, like, endless healing. And I think my method. You talked about unconventional. I always say I attract unconventional women who are here to do things differently. We're like, yeah, I've done a lot of healing, and now I'm ready to more accelerate. And that's what I started playing with. And then created a whole method around it and taking it a level deeper advanced eft. So I built this certification program and taught people the basics. And then there's something called the wildly wealthy woman. And this is where one day I was sitting in my house and I was listening to Joe Dispenza, and you know, he's saying, like, close your eyes and sit down. Like you said with your clients. Like, sometimes I just, like, can't do that. Like, I can't just, like, sit there, close my eyes, and like, feel my future self. And I just couldn't do it. So I was like, I'm gonna just tap while I do this. And I teach finger tapping. So I was like, because I need to move my body. So I was like, tapping, closing my eyes and listening to him. And I saw this, like, future me, and she was sort of just. I imagined a path and I saw her like, Waiting for me up ahead. And it was kind of the silhouette of this person. And then I realized it was me in the future. And as she introduced herself, it was like the name, I'm your wildly wealthy woman. Like, I am you in the future. And so again, I just took it online. I was like, I just did this meditation. You guys should chat with me. Did it with everyone. And then it was so cool because all these people started to tell me either similarities that they had. Like, mine was wearing white too, or like, she was in white, or she was by the beach, or she was on a mountain. And this is the information I got. So then I started playing with that. I started doing that all the time. I just started tapping with her every week, like, tapping with my future self. And. And that's where the parts of self method came in. So when I. When I was tapping with myself or with others, I started to notice when I'd sit down in a session, and I immediately am thinking, which part of self am I tapping with on this person today? Is it the part of self that is afraid to be seen? Is it the part of the self that feels shame? Is it the protective part of self? Or. And where is their wildly wealthy woman in this? Where is that future self advising on this current moment? And so I started to do these sessions where I would go into parts of self, work with tapping, not just knowing those parts of self were there, but tapping with the part of self. And it was wild. Like, all of a sudden, people were healing. People were manifesting, receiving, coming to me with stories. And so then my certification method took it a step further to teach people how to tap with others in that way. And it's interesting. Gabby Bernstein's book came out this year. I think it's. What's it called? Something Self. Self help, I think her book is called. And she talks about ifs, like internal family systems. And I was like, this is what I've been doing for years, just tapping and adding tapping into it. So, yeah, I think there's lots of different ways that we can heal and manifest. And for people that are verbal processors, this method works phenomenally well.
Yeah, because you add something into the talking. Even when I meet with clients, right. We're breathing, they're fidgeting, like there's. We're naturally doing something to try to calm that nervous system, and people don't even realize it. So to do something purposeful, I can imagine, like, exponentially how much. I mean, even more incredible. That can be absolutely.
Yeah. And like, the verbal processing at the same time. Like the tapping on the points calms the system, but then you can talk at the same time. So you get such fast clarity. Because we're working with the subconscious, it will reveal what's going on underneath. And almost every single time people are like, that's what this is about. And I'm sure you've heard that with people too. They're like that. I thought I was just feeling tired today, but. Oh, there's actually this other thing that's been going on that you can just start to move through so much quicker. You don't have to do a ton of sessions. One session can get to the root of it very quickly.
So you said you can walk me through something. Can we do it in a way for the people listening? Can you explain it or.
Okay, yeah, we can totally just do a tapping session with your listeners. What's like a common subject or theme? Like for example, a lot of my people, we tap on visibility, or we tap on money, or we tap on self worth. Feeling worthy. I'm curious if there's a topic or theme that your community would benefit from.
So if we think about like working through something, it's like anxiety, overthinking, overwhelm. If we think about it in terms of working towards something, I would say like the self worth, self respect, confidence. So if you want to take it from the working toward angle, let's do that.
Amazing. Okay, so let's say we're going to tap for more confidence and what we're. And I'll just show you how to do it. So as long as you're not driving, you can close your eyes. If you are driving, you can just listen along. It's totally fine. But if you're in a safe place to do so, I invite you to just close your eyes for a moment. Get comfy wherever you are. Roll your shoulders up and back a few times. Just connect to your body a moment. Take a nice deep breath in through the nose, out through the mouth. Just visualize setting aside whatever you were doing before this and anything that you'll go to after. Just feel yourself creating a very intentional space just for you right now. And we're going to set this intention. I feel confident. I feel I am confident in myself, where I'm going, what my vision is. I'm confident in my ability to create this vision for myself, to make it happen. And as you hear me say those words, I want you to notice in your body. How does your body respond? Does it feel like, yes, that's easy. For me to say, I am confident, I do make it happen. Or did you notice that there is some resistance? And if there was resistance, just notice where that resistance lives in your body. And if you're like, I don't know where it lives in my body, just take a guess. I want to feel confident. I want to believe I can make it happen. I want to feel worthy. But there's just this little bit of doubt or fear around that and I can feel it in my body. Where do I feel it? Maybe in my stomach, in my chest, in my head. And how high is it on a scale of 0 to 10? So 0 meaning there's no fear, no doubt at all. 10 meaning there's a lot of fear, there's a lot of doubt, there's a lot of uncertainty, and just give it a number on a scale of 0 to 10, so, you know, you might be like, oh, I have a little bit of doubt in my stomach or in my chest and it's like a seven or an eight. The number does have meaning. So depending where your number's at, we use different languaging when we tap. And Lori, if you want to, you can share. What number came up for you?
A four.
Okay, great. So now we're going to start tapping. And if you want to follow along with me, Laura, you're welcome to open your eyes if you don't know the points. And it's like a game of Simon says. So I'm going to tap on a body or face point and then you're going to tap and copy me. So I'm going to say something. You're going to copy me. So let's say even though I really want to feel confident in myself, even.
Though I really want to feel confident.
In myself, I can feel there's some doubt.
I can feel there's some doubt.
I can feel it in my body.
I can feel it in my body.
And that's okay.
And that's okay.
I love and accept myself anyway.
I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I want to feel confident.
And magnetic, Even though I want to feel confident and magnetic right now, I.
Have some fear and doubt in my.
Body Right now, I have some fear and doubt in my body.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I really want to believe.
In myself, Even though I really want to believe in myself that I can.
Do the thing that I want to.
Do, that I can do the thing I want to do, there's a little.
Bit of doubt and fear in my body.
There's a little bit of doubt and fear in my body.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
And I love and accept myself anyway.
Good job. Now we're going to tap on the top of the head and say, there's this fear and doubt in my body.
There's this fear and doubt in my body.
Tapping on your eyebrow point where your eyebrows begin. That I can really do what I want to do.
That I can really do what I want to do.
Tapping on the side of the eye. Because I've tried it in the past.
Because I've tried it in the past.
Tapping underneath the eye. And it didn't really work out the way I thought it would.
And it didn't really work out the way I thought it would.
Tapping underneath the nose. I don't feel 100% confident in myself.
I don't feel 100% confident in MYSELF.
Tapping underneath the mouth because And I would get you to fill in the blank. And this could be for any reason. So because of the way I look, because of the things I've tried in the past, you can fill in the blank.
Because of what someone might say.
Good job. Now we're going to tap on the collarbone point. I don't feel 100% confident in myself.
I don't feel 100% confident in MYSELF.
Tapping underneath your arms. This is like at the base of your bra strap. Because of what someone might say.
Because of what someone might say.
Tapping underneath the chest again, where your bra strap would be underneath your chest. Or because of what they might think.
Or because of what they might think.
Tapping your wrists together. Because of what someone might say or think.
Because of what someone might say or think.
Tapping on the top of the head. I don't feel that confident in myself.
I don't feel that confident in myself.
Eyebrow point. But I would really like to let this go.
But I would really like to let this go.
Side of the eye. And start believing in myself again.
And start believing in myself again.
Great job. So you can stop tapping. You can take a deep breath, close your eyes, and tune back in. And just notice now, on a scale of 0 to 10, how high is that number that we started with? That resistance in your body to feeling confident in yourself or about the thing that you want to do or make happening. Just notice if that number has changed or if it has moved to a different spot in your body. So, Laurie, I know you were about a four before. Is that number the same or has it changed?
I would say it's pretty low. Like, I Feel pretty relaxed and like, I can do this.
Beautiful. Okay, so that means when your number is below a three, that means that your subconscious brain is primed and prepped to receive an affirmation. And you just told me the affirmation, I can do this. I feel confident. That means your system is in full agreement with that. If someone was at a 8, 9, 10, or really above a 5 and they said, I feel confident myself, I can do it, their system's going to have, there's going to be like, I don't, I don't really believe it when I say that. And that just means we have a little bit more tapping to do. The secret to success in tapping is getting really specific in your wording. And so what, what you're experiencing right now is called global tapping. It's just this general theme that we're tapping on. But when we see people have these kind of one minute wonders where their intensity goes from like a 10 to a 0 is when we're using their specific wording. So I just want you to know if you're listening, you're like, well, I'm not at a, I'm not at a three like Lori, or two like I, I'm still at an eight. That's totally fine. There's no right or wrong answer. If your number went up or went down or stayed the same. It, it's just giving us feedback of what's going on subconsciously. Because there's, you know, this great book, the body is the subconscious mind. The body is showing us what the subconscious believes. And if it's still an 8 or a 9 or a 10, it's just saying, okay, there's more clearing work to do here. So do you want to do one more round and we'll do some affirmations?
Sure.
Awesome. So we're going to tap again on the side of the hand. Everyone can tap along with us and say, even though I had some resistance.
Even though I had some resistance to feeling and believing to feeling and believing.
Confident in myself, Confident in myself, I'm ready to start letting that go.
I'm ready to start letting that go.
And really believe in myself today.
And really believe in myself today.
Good job. Even though I had some resistance before.
Even though I had some resistance before.
To feeling confident in myself to feeling confident in myself, I'm ready to let that resistance go.
I'm ready to let that resistance go.
And believe that I can do this.
And believe that I can do this.
Even though people might judge me.
Even though people might judge me And.
I might have moments and I might have moments of not feeling good enough.
Of not feeling good enough.
I choose to love and accept myself.
Anyway I choose to love and accept.
Myself anyway and to give myself permission.
And to give myself permission to move forward. To move forward.
Tapping on the top of the head. I choose to feel confident in myself.
I choose to feel confident in myself.
Tapping on the eyebrow point and believe that I can do this.
And believe that I can do this.
Tapping on the side of the eye. I am good enough.
I am good enough.
Underneath the eye. I do have what it takes I.
Do have what it takes.
Underneath the nose. It's time for me to take action on this.
It's time for me to take action on this.
Underneath the mouth. I choose to believe in myself today.
I choose to believe in myself today.
Collarbone point. I'm starting to feel more confident in my body.
I'm starting to feel more confident in my body.
Underneath the arms. I'm starting to feel more confident in myself.
I'm starting to feel more confident in myself.
Underneath the chest. This is really exciting.
This is really exciting.
Wrist points. And I am so grateful.
And I am so grateful.
Top of the head. For my willingness to give this a try.
For my willingness to give this a try.
Eyebrow point. And to believe in myself again.
And to believe in myself again.
Great job. You can stop tapping so you can close your eyes one more time. And notice now in your body, how high is that resistance on a scale of 0 to 10? To feeling confident, to believing in yourself, to believing you can make it happen. Laurie, I'm curious what your number is at now.
I would say the resistance is, like, next to nothing. I think, like you said earlier, it's pretty primed and ready to be like, let's do this. Yes.
Good job. Amazing. Well, congrats. That's how fast tapping can work. It's one of the things it's most famously known for is how quick it is. And, I mean, we just did two quick rounds, and you went from a four to a zero and you're like, let's go. I'm good. Like, and again, not everyone will have that experience. Some people, you might stay at like, a 6 or 7 for a few rounds or a 9 or a 10. And the three rounds of tapping that I do often on video, if someone's between a 9 and a 10, that means we need to vent. We need to speak all of your fears out loud. And some people are like, well, that's negative. I don't want to reinforce a Negative. It's like saying. It's like. I often explain it as like having a cavity and saying to the dentist, like, just focus on all the other teeth. Like, we need to. We need to fix the cavity. In order for things to get better, we need to tap through these fears. We need to say them out loud so they lose the power, the charge that they have over you. And once you do that, you'll notice your numbers shift from a 9, 10 down to a 6. And when you're at a 6 and between, like a 5, 6, 7, that's. Your subconscious is open to a new possibility. So our language at that level is like, I give myself permission to let this go. I'm open to letting this go. Maybe I could let this go. And it's sort of like this. I think of it as like a ping pong ball in the brain. It's like, I don't want to let it go. I do want to let it go. I don't think I can. Maybe I can. And so that's where our language is, that middle stage. Then once your number is between, like, a 0 and a 3 again, you're primed and ready to say an affirmation. I feel confident in myself. I'm ready to do this. I can do this. You'll say that, and you'll feel the resonance of that in your body.
And for everyone listening, I did follow along with everything you just said. Like, it's a nice practice. Like, it felt good. My body relaxed. Like, I was pretty relaxed before. I'm pretty chill. You know, I have the tools, right? This is what I teach people. But to relax even more when you can take something from good to great is like an amazing feeling. And so if you're listening, go back and watch the video and do it along with us. But, Jackie, like, going forward, how can someone do this on their own? If you could get them to do something every day for a minute, five minutes, what would be required to say for the next 30 days, do XYZ and. And you can expect to feel whatever. Like, how can you really get someone to commit to this if they're like, okay, I'm open to it.
Yeah. So how I use it is when I'm getting ready in the morning and I'm looking in the mirror, because they find tapping in the mirror is just so powerful. I ask myself in the morning, like, what? What is it that I want today? What is it that I want this week? Like, what do I want right now? Do I. Am I clear on what I'M manifesting. So that's like one of the first mistakes people have is like, I don't know what I want. So I always think about what I want. And then the second question is like, hey, what are. What are the beliefs or feelings are stopping me from having it? And I just sort of bring those forward. Like, I can't do it right now. I'm too busy right now. Now's not the right time. Then I just tap through the points while I'm getting ready and just take a moment. Even if it's just with one hand, I'd be like, I don't think I can do this. Now's not a good time. I can't. I'm too busy. This is going to be too hard for me. Just take a moment while you're getting ready in the morning, even if it's while you're brushing your teeth, and just tap through the points and tap out all the negative first. I can't do it. It won't happen. It's too hard. I'm not enough. Take a moment to tap through the negative, then take a breath and you'll notice your mind shift and be like, that's not true. I could make it happen. Like, you'll. The words will come to you automatically. I can do this. Maybe I can, I don't know, do another round. Maybe I can do this. Maybe now I. Maybe I could pull this off. Maybe there is enough time and you could just do three quick rounds. By the last round, I'm ready to do this. This is happening for me. I'm so excited. I feel the excitement in my body. I feel confident in myself. I'm willing to let it go. This belief that I can't do it right. It's just sort of like tapping and talking to yourself in the mirror is like, for me, the most practical way to put it into my day. If you are somebody that does have a big goal that you want to achieve, or you're a high performer with anxiety, and you're like, I have no problem manifesting, but I have a hard time holding the things that I've created for myself. Like, my life is amazing, but I like to hold. It all feels really intense. I would book a session with me in one hour or less than an hour. You're going to see and feel the tension in your neck, the pain in your shoulders, the headaches decrease. You're going to feel that safe, relaxed feeling. And that's what I mean. Where you are right now is this open place of receiving this Is where good things can start to come. And in a one on one session, this is. It's kind of cool because visioning practices start to come into play. Like, you'll start to see, oh, this is what I need to do next. And ooh, that's the person I need to connect with. And it's almost like you start downloading the blueprint for your personal next steps once you get into that place.
That's super practical, like you said. I mean, looking in the mirror, I always tell people, like, how we wake up in the morning is going to kind of set the tone for the day. So whether you have 60 seconds or 60 minutes, like, have some kind of predictable routine that you can rely on and that like, primes you for the day. Adding this in, like you said, while you're brushing your teeth, like, super accessible. I love that because so many of the things out there, people are like, I don't fucking have time for that. You know, and it's ridiculous. So that's super accessible. I would say most of my clients could be like, okay, I could do that for a month and see how it goes. Like, I love that. Awesome.
And those two questions, right? Get in the habit of asking yourself every morning, like, do I know what I want today? Do I know what I want right now? Because it's also like giving the universe a guidebook. Like, remember, this is what we're going for. And then like, why do I believe I can't have it? Or what do I feel when I think about having it in my body? Like, oh, there's just this tightness in my chest. Like, I. And that tells me if there's a tightness in your chest, there's a part of you that doesn't want it. And that's okay. We love and accept that part of self anyway. And deeper tapping where it can help that part of self feel safe with you having it. Because maybe you saw your dad have it and then he got sick and died at a young age. Like, that was one of them mine, you know, my dad was very successful, but he was a workaholic. And so I'm like, work ethic is not my problem. But there was this fear of, like, oh, you can either be healthy or successful. You can't have both. And the tapping work reversed. Like, I didn't even know I had that belief till I tapped on it. And I realized, oh, no, I can be healthy and successful. So there's deeper work we can do. But I think really practical, asking yourself those two questions in the Morning. What do I want? Why do I believe I can't have it? Doing a couple rounds of tapping. And I also have the 21 days of tapping. People can purchase anytime. And it's. There's 21 sessions. It's. It's about 20 minutes a day. And it's a different affirmation a day. So each time I run the 21 days, there's a different, like, I do different affirmations each time. But you can go on my website, buy the most recent one, and you can listen to those in the car on your drive to work or whatever you want to do, and, and just do some gentle tapping, and it will completely rewire your nervous system for success.
I love that. And it's exactly what I was going to ask you is like, if someone does say, that's it. Like, I got to talk to Jackie one on one. This is amazing. How can I connect you and stuff? So, yeah, I'll link your website and the challenge, any resources and stuff you have. I want to ask you really quick because, like, I feel like I could talk to you all day, just, I'm here. It's so fun and so powerful. Is there anything or anyone that tapping won't work for? Have you seen, like, time and time again, you're like, I guess someone skeptical or someone who doesn't want it to work, like, you're not there to convince them. We all know those people. But is there a condition or anything that you're like, that is just too much or something?
The only experience I've had with someone not working is exactly what you said. They didn't want to be there. It was like they were in a breakup and their partner asked them to do it, and they were just. It was like, you know, they're just stubborn, didn't want it to work. And so it actually did work for them because it opened up more stuff. But I think, you know, be prepared for that. If, if you are going into a tapping session, lots of people cry. And I, I always say, I forget you're gonna cry, but it's because you feel such relief that the thing that you've been carrying is gone. And so the only people it wouldn't work for, I can't think of anything. I mean, if you're in really active trauma, I have, I've certified all types of people. And one of the people that I have certified, she's an ambulance driver or paramedic. Sorry. And she taps with people on the back of the, of the ambulance that are in active crisis. Because it will just calm their system down. And people have come to her and said, like, I think you saved me from having a heart attack just because my system could come down. So tapping is very safe, it's very effective. It does lower blood pressure. So, you know, just something to be aware of. If you already have low blood pressure, it can lower your blood pressure. And after you tap, I recommend having some kind of protein, even if it's like a piece of cheese, because we're doing like brain work. It's like going to the gym for your brain and having lots of water will support you. But it's, it's the most safe, effective and, and fast tool that is available literally at your fingertips. The only time I've had someone have issues is either if they had an injury at their hand, they couldn't use their hand, or they were in a situation, for example, an mri, where they can't move. And I've, I've actually been in that situation where I had to go for an MRI and had anxiety. And I just visualized myself tapping. I started at the top of the head, eyebrow point, side of the eye. And it just, just by visualizing it, I don't know if it just distracted me or calmed my system down, but it was a much easier experience than I had anticipated. So those are a couple things and then the last one is surrogate tapping so you can tap on behalf of someone else with their permission, which I often see with. I work with a lot of women and they work with obviously their family. So if you have a little kid that is having a freak out or that say, having anxiety going to bed or anxiety moving between homes, you can tap on behalf of them and say even though you're feeling really anxious about going to your dad's this week, you're okay and you can love and accept yourself. So surrogate tapping is really cool. It's what I did with my dad in that earlier story, like tapping on behalf of him. I've certified people that tap with pets. So if you have a pet with anxiety, it's really powerful. There's points down like the spine of, you know, a cat or a dog or a horse's back. And the finger point tapping is really helpful if you have anxiety in public places and just learning the finger points, which is just tapping right on the side of the nail bed is so powerful. I have had clients that say, you know, I was really triggered at a wedding and I just went into the bathroom stall and went and did some tapping on, on my finger Points and just let myself vent the anger and came down, went out and it was totally fine. Got got to go back into the wedding and I could be present. So those are little bonus tips that I teach a lot, is just how to incorporate it. If you have anxiety driving, you can just pick one point. I often tap on my collarbone point and then just like, I hate this traffic right now and I feel really hot and I just don't like this, you know, And I'll just.
Just give.
Just start to move that energy out of the body and pick a point to tap on again.
Accessible, like, super doable. Really. No one can be like, absolutely not. Like, you can do it while you're driving. If you can do something while you're driving, I would say it's pretty dang accessible.
Like, and obviously I'm not like, promoting that. But if you're having in a panic attack in a. In a traffic jam, you can just tap on your collarbone point and be like. Or side of the hand if you're sitting still. Even though I feel really anxious right now and panicked and freaked out, I love and accept myself anyway. Even though I feel just super anxious right now and I don't want this to be happening. I love and accept myself anyway. And you can even. Even if you're like, I don't know what to say. You can just tap through the points. You don't have to say anything. And what that does is, you know the amygdala, that part of our brain we all know that controls the fight flight freeze. It starts to bring blood flow through to the brain. So it starts to calm the system down just by tapping on the points. And you'll see people that are in crisis often, like, put their hand on their head or they'll touch like there's certain areas put their hand on their chest. These are all tapping points that we're naturally wanting to bring blood flow back to these areas.
Is there any thing you see people get wrong? Are you like, you're tapping wrong or you're starting trying to convince yourself of a positive affirmation before you, like, address the negatives or the fears? Like, what are a couple things to look out for to, like, make sure you're doing it quote unquote right?
Yeah, you nailed it. Is is the emotional bypassing trying to get to the affirmations before you're really ready? I often, like, tell the people I certify spend a little bit more time in the venting stage. Even if they said their number went from an eight to A six. I might just do a little bit more venting to make sure. Because most of us are holding a lot of shit in that we just haven't had the tool or the space to let it out. And people. That's why it's called emotional freedom technique. When you finally get to say the thing you're really feeling, you feel like a whole new person. You're liberated. So exactly what you said. The only mistake, I would say, is people avoiding the hard feelings. Don't be afraid of them. The tapping will do the work. It will move those feelings out for you. I love that.
I think it's super important. And I see that in therapy. We see that with, like, EMDR techniques. All of this stuff works. You have to really address what's going on. A lot of times it's like, well, I don't want to. It doesn't feel good. But I always tell people those thoughts. Those feelings are like in Shrek where Donkey was, like, jumping up and down and he kept popping over the window. Like, it's like that. Or a screaming toddler. You can't just put them in another room and close the door. Like, you have to address the negative to get to a neutral before you could even get to the positive. So, again, EMDR does this. Tapping does this. I do this with my clients. Everybody works differently. But, like, you cannot bypass where the shit came from in the first place. So I love this. This is right up my alley.
And that's where release, receive came from. Like, yeah, you can have everything you want, but sometimes you gotta look at the stuff that you don't wanna look at. And it's actually the. Like you said, it's like the most beautiful thing. Cause there's just a part of you, usually from the past, that has been sitting waiting for you to see her and remember her. And once she's seen and heard, she's free. And you're free, and all of a sudden things start to come into your life. And I always say wild and wondrous ways. It's like, wow, this is so cool.
It is really cool. Oh, my gosh. Well, I will absolutely link everything if people want to find you. Do the challenge. If there's resources on your website. I just think. And you teach so much on Instagram. I love your stuff. And again, it's been, like, such a pleasure. And I. I feel. I don't even know. Like, I feel so good after talking to you, but I also feel like I owe you now because just to be able to pick your brain and go through something. Like, it's just so awesome. You teach and give constantly so anybody can go and do some things on your Instagram and see what you're up to and then work with you too. It's just like you provide so much information, which is always awesome. So I appreciate that.
Well, thank you so much, Lori. And it's my. My mission is to get tapping into the hands, hearts and homes of people worldwide. I think that emotional freedom is the foundation for everything. Financial freedom, your dream life. Like everyone deserves to be emotionally free and it's literally at your fingertips. So thank you for helping me get this mission out there and sharing it with your community. It's like truly my dream come true. So thank you.
Okay, well, you have to come come back at some point. But yeah, I'll link everything. Everybody needs to go follow you and stuff. And I appreciate it. Thank you so much for, for your time, your knowledge, for walking me selfishly through something. I know it's something I can use. So now that I have a little more of a foundation, I'm super pumped to again use the like, accessibility of how you taught it and integrate it into my day. And I just want people to experience like what you have to offer. So definitely coming into my heart and home. And I want people to do it too, for sure.
Thank you. And yeah, if you guys listening do end up trying it and or even today's session brought up something for you, please message me on Instagram or you can email me. Supportackiemcdonald ca. There's a wildly wealthy woman tapping meditation. If you're. If you want to meet that future self and tell me what she looks like, I love to hear it. So thank you. Laura. Yeah, any. Any way I can support you with tapping, I'm here.
