Yay. I love you. I'm so happy to be with you.

So good. I'm so excited because you've been such a massive mentor for me. You really changed my life, my business. And I truly believe that everyone needs the tools that you offer. So not only to grow as a person, but truly just to free yourself of those stories that we have in our head. And especially for you guys that are listening, if you want to learn how to run a spiritual business and feel aligned, proud and connected to your message. I truly, truly think you guys are going to get so much out of this podcast. So, Gabby, can you tell me about a time maybe way before you had any Idea what you knew you wanted to do.

A time before I knew what I wanted to do, you know, that was a shitty time because I think that there was a period when I was in theater school, I studied drama in college, and I at the time was really bad actress because I didn't understand what I know now, which is that all people want is for you to be real, right? And so at the time when I was like 17 in college and like, on, like on the stage, I was like, trying to be something and trying to act in some way, and that's the opposite of what the world wants from us. The world wants from us to be real and authentic and genuine. Actually, I'd be an amazing actress now because so. So connected to what's truthful, you know. So I think at that time I, like, was going on this fast track to becoming an actress. I was like, that sucked. I really hated it. I didn't want to be an actress. I didn't want to pretend to be anyone other than me. And so that was a time I didn't know what I wanted to do. And it really sucked. I love that.

So what were some of the events that shifted you to your path now?

So many. Oh, my. So when I was 21, I started my first business, and it was a nightlife PR business in New York City. And I represented nightclubs and restaurants. And I was pretty much on a fast track, going nowhere at that time, kind of really beating myself up with the New York City life nightlife scene and, and really trying to keep up with the, you know, this, the, the style of New York and the people in New York and all the things that were, you know, ego based. And so in that story, in that way, I was just very disconnected from my truth. And so by the time I was 25, I hit a really big bottom. And I was realizing that I was a work addict and a drug addict and a love addict and a food addict. And I just saw all of my fear just planted in my face. And I hit bottom, which ultimately I believe is the best place to land because there's only up from there. And in that bottom, I was able to really recognize that there was so much more for me to bring to the world than the woman that I had been trying to be. And I became. I got sober. At 25 years old, I chose to get sober. I found a recovery program. And in that recovery program, I started to reconnect to my spiritual roots and find the truth of who I am. And that's what set me on the path of becoming a self proclaimed spirit junkie and a spiritual teacher and a self help book author and a catalyst for helping people wake up to the truth of who they are.

I love that, you know, I sort of resonate with your story. I remember I literally found you through a true miracle. I was randomly talking to a girl I didn't know that well at the time and she was like, hey, I know you like to read. Have you ever read this book? And I was like, I have no idea who that is. And I took it home and like devoured it. And I was like, this woman is like talking to me. I love her. It's crazy. I remember hugging that book. Isn't that crazy? But that's that moment that you're like, this person is reconnecting me to where I need to go. So who were some of your teachers who when you first started out, when you said yes or when you started following this path? I truly believe everything opens up for you and you get delivered what you need. So what were you delivered?

I was delivered a book much like you. And the book was called A Return to Love. And it was by Marianne Williamson. And it was probably one of the most important books I ever read my entire life. Because ultimately Marianne became my mentor and my teacher and my guide. And she is a teacher of a metaphysical text called A Course in Miracles. And she introduced the principles of A Course in Miracles to me in a very easy to digest, authentic way. And very quickly I became a student of the course as a result of being her student and began what is a mind training really? It's a reorganization of your belief systems to restore your faith in love and source and truth and relinquish your faith and fear. And that's been a big part of my own spiritual journey and the teachings that I give to the world. And it all began with Marianne's book. And today she's one of my dearest friends and still my mentor, but one of my close friends and somebody that really was there at a very pinnacle turning point in my life.

So when you started, you know, when you read her book and when you really started connecting, I think we get these feelings in our heart, like, oh, my gosh, what. What is this coming through that's so much bigger than me? And how do we. How did you figure out that this was something that you had to share?

I knew right away, Lori. Like, I. You know, I don't know, there's something maybe just in the makeup of who I am or the type of person I was born to be. Right. I think sometimes there's certain. Certain path that we embark on as a result of the. The karma we choose in this lifetime. And I think that, for me, I was meant to be a preacher. You know, I. I don't. I do identify as a preacher in stilettos. And I. And I mean it. I mean, I think that it is my calling, it is my art, it is my mission, it is the way that I serve. And so speaking publicly about my own recovery and my own path has pretty much been what I've been doing for the last 11 years. And, you know, I think. I think that it just happened naturally because I felt so moved by what I was experiencing in my own life that I felt this level of responsibility to share it with my contemporaries.

So that's kind of. That's literally kind of how I feel is when I hear something that just, you know, it in your gut, you know, in your soul, like, I want to share it that moment. Like, I want to. I literally want to go on, like, a Facebook Live or start sharing it. But there's a lot of different blocks for a lot of people that can come up that, you know, you hear a message, you feel it, you're carrying it around with you every single day. But maybe fear is stopping them from sharing that message. And that's kind of what I want to talk about, because I think that you've not only relieved so many people of. Of sharing authentically and really stepping into that, but you rocked my world at this one event. I think it was out in la, and you had said, if you feel weak, you're relying on your own strength. And I was just like. You know that moment, like, where you literally feel like a message gets shot like an arrow into your heart, and that was it for me. It's like, I could leave now. And it was at the very beginning. I'm like, I could leave now and be totally good. Like, that is the message that I needed to hear. So what exactly does that mean to people? I think that this can really shift things for people if they really understand what this means.

Well, the concept is that the presence of fear is a sign that you're relying on your own strength. Meaning that when you realize that you have focused your faith in your ability to do something or your perception of who you are, then you've completely disconnected from a spiritual relationship and you've disconnected from the truth. Which, listen, not everybody believes this, but if you're on a spiritual path, you in some way have a belief system that says that there is a power greater than you that is supporting you, whether you believe in the energy of the universe or God or angels or spiritual connection of any form, whatever it is that you believe in. And whenever you start to rely on your own strength and your own will and your own power, that in some way means you've denied the power of, of that spiritual source. And so in the denial of that spiritual source, you take matters into your own hands. And life can get really difficult at that point. If you're someone that's listening and you don't have a spiritual path, path or practice, but you're open to it, then you're in the right place. And if you're just totally atheist and have no interest, then take it or leave it, you know, oh, well, you.

Know, one of the biggest reasons I wanted to have you on is because I went to your master class. And it, it truly, I think at that point I was at. It was like I was sharing and I felt like I was sharing and getting my message out, but not in the way that I necessarily wanted to or reaching the people that I wanted to. And what happened there in just a brief amount of time, really completely shifted. Not only my just beliefs within myself, but knowing that that message was not my own and also something that was gifted to me. There was really my statement around my higher power, so around God, around my higher power, and really knowing that he's, you know, intertwined in this message and that we're meant to get our messages out there. So I love this quote too. I was going through my. My masterclass book that I took home and all the different things that I wrote, and I was like, oh my gosh. Just the growth after that event was mind blowing. Not only my business, but just in my connection to source, to really to all of the people that I'm talking to, to who I want to get this message across to. But I love that quote, if you want to master something, teach it. So it's about mastering the tools, not being a master. And I Think we put so much pressure on ourself to be the master instead of, no, I'm just gonna get really good at these tools, and I'm human and I'm gonna use these things. So what was it that made you want to share and really elevate people who had the message? When did you know that that's what you wanted to do?

You know, about two and a half years ago, maybe three years ago now, I had the vision for the masterclass, and it was really. I was. Yeah, it was three years, three and a half years ago. I was sitting in a. In my yoga teacher training, doing a Kundalini yoga teacher training. And I was watching this video of Yogi Bhajan, who's the Kundalini master, and he said, I'm not here to create disciples. I'm here to create teachers. And similar to what you said about the thing that you heard in my training that kicked you in the ass, that just knocked my socks off, I was like, holy shit. That's exactly what I needed to hear. This is so spot on. And it just sort of freed me up. It was like, oh, that's what I'm supposed to do. I'm not just supposed to wake these people up and just consider them my students. I'm supposed to wake them up and consider them teachers and help them become teachers and help them facilitate their own movement. And that was the hit. And from that point forward, I made the commitment to create my own training, which is called the Spirit Junkie Masterclass. And the purpose of the training is to give people the confidence to step out and own their power and live their purpose and be abundant in that and help people really get into action. Because I think that there's a lot to be said for being an action taker. And so that's my hope and my connection and my. And my commitment to. To my students is to get people into action.

Oh, my gosh. That's amazing. So as far as when. When people decide, like, when people decide, yes, I'm gonna get this message out. You know, a lot of the women that I talk to as well, they're all people who either are starting to take action or wanting to take action, but I think so much comes around with even the thought around taking action. A lot of. A lot of fear. And I know that's mostly what all of your training. Well, what your training is based on is, you know, going to that loving place over fear. So you provide so many incredible tools, not only in this masterclass, but just in everything that you give out all of the time. Were there some blocks that you had to deal with in the beginning around resistance, around fear of what's going to happen next? When I really start to step out there.

You know, I think that I'm a bad example for people who are new to just showing up for their dreams, because I've been just really fearless. Like, I just kind of. I'm not a typical story. I just. I've. I said yes and I went for it. And fear has not in any way blocked me in my career path and mission. Fear has definitely been a block for me in other areas of my life, but not there. And so I think that we're clear. Some of us can be clear in some areas. And for me, that's one. So I wish I could say, like, oh, I struggled here. I just haven't, Laurie. Like, it's been a pretty clear path that's laid for me, and I've just been full speed ahead.

Well, I think that's actually really cool, just because the thing is that, yes, you've felt fear in other areas of your life, and you don't necessarily feel fear there, but the tools that you give still work great on people who do. Because I remember in the beginning it was like I felt some hesitation or fear around if I really start coming out and talking about certain things, you know, on this path. And it was like, all of the tools that you teach, literally all still apply to everything. It's kind of like a blanket, you know, it just kind of covers everything that you're doing. So I really, really feel like as far as people who want to get started and really start sharing, I think it's a great place to really start to crack open. And there's a lot of things that you do there, like creating your freedom statement, how to be a clear channel as a teacher. And I really love that. It's super practical, too. Like, you have meditations to prevent freaking out. So what are some of your favorite things that you teach at Masterclass?

Oh, I love it all. The first part of the training and we turned into a digital program now. So it's like eight modules of training. And so the first half of those modules in those first few modules of the. Of the digital course are the really understanding your own. Your own God concept, your own presence of what spiritual relationship means to you, clearing a lot of your own fears and beginning to really own your power as a teacher or as a voice or as a leader or as an incubator or really someone who's living in their purpose. And then the second half of the training is all about how to make money doing that work and really become unobstruction apologetic about your earning capacity. And so there's a whole lot of training on how to turn your ideas into digital courses, or how to manifest media for your message, or how to make your blog your business, or how to use social media to grow your to grow your message and share your story. And we're adding a lot of new teachers and speakers to the digital training this year. People talking about how to make money with webinars and how to get a book published. And you'll leave the training after watching it with, like knowing how to write a book proposal or at least an outline for your book. And so there's this emphasis of the spiritual shift, and then that's married with the business backbone and the practical action. No, that's exactly how I left. It was just so. There were so many things that I was able to put into action right away and then see the rewards and just the benefits and reaping just the beautiful blessings that came from it. And it's truly because it was super practical application. It was, here's how you feel, here's what it is, here's what you wanna do, here's the action, do it, go. So I went home and just had a plan and I think that some of the biggest things is having a plan and also just having somebody say, you just really freed me up to share my message, be proud of it and make money from it. So I can tell you that this is the most aligned to date that I have ever felt with my message, with promoting my passion, with really wanting to share and have other people step into their, you know, business as well and sharing their message too. But so many people, you know, have this, they kind of have this contradiction around running a spiritual business or like an oxymoron that it's to be spiritual and run a super successful business and really, you know, think that they can just accomplish everything that their wildest dreams can possibly dream up. Up. So what's something that you maybe touch on there around that in terms of.

In terms of it not being spiritual to earn? Is that what you're asking?

Yeah, in Terms of freeing people to really be proud of what they're doing and really answering that call.

Yeah. So I mean I think that when you're in the flow of what you are here to express, then you're in alignment with what we say in personal growth world is abundance. You're in abundance energy. When you're doing the work that is your soul's work. When you're doing work that inspires you and lights you up and contributes to the world, that is the energy of abundance. And so it's the law, the natural law that that abundance be a boomerang, that abundance, that abundance be reflected back to you. And I believe that when you turn that faucet on and you let that energy flow, then that faucet just continues to flow as long as your belief systems don't put a kink in the faucet. Right. So when you're aligned with that energy of abundance through the contribution that you bring to the world, you will be very richly rewarded and it doesn't stop.

So how do we, you know, if people are sitting there like, like yes, that sounds great, I want to feel abundant, but I'm just not feeling is there something quick that they can switch their thoughts or do in order for them to be just really be able to tap into that.

I want to say that it's quick and that you can start the moment you become willing to change your mind about it. The speed with which you make that shift kind of all depends on how rooted you are in the belief belief system. Right. And most importantly how willing you are to let it go. Because if you're willing to let it go and you're willing to change, then you'll end up listening to this audio or you'll read a book that's going to help you get there or you'll find a teacher that's going to support you. A big message throughout the masterclass is really helping people change their money story and helping people realize that there's nothing wrong with earning for work that's service oriented. Right. Or work that's healing because you, it's once again, like I said, it's like turn on the faucet and just let it flow.

I love that you say that a lot and I absolutely love it. It rings in my ears that you just have to be willing. I remember my mother in law was having just major issues with forgiving herself for certain things just throughout her life or really caring it and carrying it around with her. And we were having a great discussion and I had Gone for a run while she was staying with me. And I'm like, okay, I'm gonn. Whose podcast can I listen to? Like, what can I hear on forgiveness that I can give her something that she's gonna use? And you had a forgiveness lecture that it was just like, you don't have to know how to forgive, you just have to be willing. And she literally said those words like, I don't know how. And I think a lot of times we think we should just know how or we're gonna be tuned in and hear this message how. And it's. That's not how it's looked for me at all. I think those words are like, freedom. You just have to be willing. So every time it comes up, I love that. It just rings in my ears. Just be willing. Just be willing to either look or be open or, you know, be open to the teachers are being delivered those messages. But I think a lot of what I'm finding is that a lot of people are coming to me and they're saying, you know, I really, really want to do this or I want to start this. This business. But this person's doing it and they're saying it this way or it's already been done before. This is probably one of the biggest messages I'm hearing right now is it's already been done before. So how am I going to get my message out there? Or why am I special or why is this going to stand out? I would love, love, love if you would expand on that.

So the reality that I come back to is that while you think someone's already doing it, think about how many people need it. There are far more people that need what you' offering than there are people doing what you're offering. So focus back on who needs it and get over who's doing it.

I love that. So what are you excited about with the digital course the most? I know. So I went to the in person event and truly, I think that weekend shifted more for me than I can possibly tell you in such a brief amount of time. Because like you said, I really could feel all of the love and the time that you poured into it and anything that could come up around somebody starting to get their message out and really create a spiritual business, you really covered it. I was like, this woman is thorough. So I know that you're bringing it into the digital course, which you guys, this is exactly why I wanted to have her on today, is because this is accessible to everyone now. I came back and people were like, I Literally wish I could have gone to experience what you experience because so much shifted for you. Like, they noticed a difference in me and what I was putting out there. And now that it's digital, I'm like, ah, you guys can all get this for yourself. And I was going through the digital course and it truly feels like the experience of being there. So what are you most excited about? What do you hope that people get from it? What do you know people will get from it?

Well, part of what you just said is exactly one of the goals, which was to help people feel like they're in the room with us. And I took the videos from the live trainings and I am over an eight module course, and it's 17 hours of video that is broken up into really tangible, easy to digest lessons. And they're from the live training. So you have this experience of almost being live in the room and turning on your computer to be with other us wherever you are in the world. You know, it might be like, it's not better, but at the same time, I'll tell you that today when I was going through it, I was like, oh my God, I get to rewind what she just said. Like, I'm like, could you repeat that again so I can write that down? I'm like, you're gonna be paused. Hold on one second. It was Becca.

And that's truly something that I look for in a mentor, is people who are always, always, always seeking, learning in whatever's coming up for them now. And I really, really, really respect that in a mentor, because I think there's a, you know, sometimes there's people who don't go out and seek that. And I love that you are constantly a student as much as you are a teacher. And I feel it. I feel it in all of the work that you do, because it's always, ever. You're always teaching something new. So what are some of your, you.

Know.

When you're seeking and when you're learning, where are you going to fill up your cup?

Well, I have a really good therapist. I fill up my cup in my meditation practice daily. I have the most incredible posse of spiritual running buddies and soul sisters that I would not be able to live without. My husband is a very big support to me, and so I feel very supported, thankfully, and I feel great spiritual practice and spiritual mentors and guides that I can tune into daily, whether it's literally on a phone call or over listening to them on an audio recording. Right. And so I'm so committed to my practice, and that commitment is what's been keeping me really centered and grounded in the work that I do.

So I love that because you created that. You hadn't always had that, and you created it through different modalities of probably tuning in and saying, what do I need right now? Or what makes me feel that way? Or what makes me feel supported? I'm really in that place right now of just looking at what makes me feel really good. And a lot of that is community right now. And I know on your program you have a Facebook page so that everyone can connect, because I think community is vital. I think a lot of times when we are going through something or we think we're alone in something or feeling shame or guilt or whatever that is or that we don't want to share it through, like, that story just expands because we're alone. So I find in community, it really. It's like when you share your stories, they really just shrink. They really. You realize that you're not going through these things alone, that everybody's going through these things. So what Kind of things get shared in this spirit checking masterclass community. What's going on in there? Why is it awesome?

So in the community, it's like the most loving place on the Internet. It's the craziest thing. So much love. There's so much support I give. I'll be giving spiritual training calls, following the training. So when people sign up, they get live calls with me and then they also have a live experience on the Facebook page. So, I mean, I think that you have to have that kind of community when people are going through something like this, because you need to feel like you're not in it alone, as you said. And so there's just like, there's so much great sharing and stories and people supporting each other and like helping each other. And it's. It's awesome. It's so gorgeous. It's so beautiful. And people have made some of their best friends on that Facebook page.

It's so true. And there's so much cool collaboration that can happen when you meet people in these groups too. So it's like you get to form your own little communities and also just be able to share your message together. Because I think that's so, so important. That's one of the coolest things that, that really, I think has come with sharing my message is finding other people with the exact same message and being able to, you know, but they're saying it in their own way. And I think that also helps you realize that, you know, from. From that prior lack mentality we had talked about that everybody's doing it. It's like, yes, you might be saying the same thing, but you're saying it in such a different way that it's because it's, you know, from a different story or from a different background that it's not even remotely the same. So if you. I would love for you to just, just share anything else about your course that you want people to, you know, who is this for? What is this really going to maybe do for somebody who enrolls?

So it's for anyone who feels as though they have a purpose and a passion that they are really needing to bring forth or wanting to amplify. And really someone that's looking to gain the confidence to step out and rise up and own their voice and whatever it is that they're here to share. And then the other bit is that it's really there for someone who's ready to take action. It's for someone that may feel stuck and has been not taking action, or even someone like you who's been taking a lot of action and wanting to take more spiritually aligned action and take action from a new place or a new energy or a new frequency. And so there's those two elements and then people really wanting to take their inspiring, passion driven work and learn how to make more money doing it. Let's just be practical. I mean, that element is a big through line throughout the training. And so confidence, action and abundance. And people have come through training with all different backgrounds, whether they be coaches or people in the fitness world like you, that are also inspirational teachers, as you are, or people who are authors or people that are lawyers and bankers and publicists and magazine people and people in the media. It's been very interesting to see that this has attracted many walks of life and it has benefited all these people in just the most profound ways.

I can tell you. I could have brought anyone there, any one of my friends, any one of my family members, and they literally, whether you are, whether you are doing a business, whether you just want to elevate your life, whatever it is, I, I felt like I literally got filled in every single portion of my life. And that's because you understand that it's not just about one thing, it's truly everything that makes us feel whole because we're so diverse and we have so much going on. And I just absolutely, I can tell anybody that if you are ready to, like, if you feel that call, if you're like, I definitely have this message, or if you're like, I have it, but I'm not sure what to do, or if you've already started and you're like, you know what? I know that I'm meant to make a much bigger impact or I need to really, really, really get connected spiritually to understand exactly what my message is, that you are going to walk away with the answers. Because it's really a space, Gabby, that you provide. That's. It's a space where we figure it out ourselves. Cause I've been in some spaces where I think you're getting told things or you're like getting motivated in a way and you leave sometimes and you're like, but that wasn't my V, that wasn't me who really figured that out. That was somebody else's message. And I know that you provided the space for me to have me figure it out and myself hear it and get those downloads and truly, truly tune in, get connected and get what I needed to expand my business and feel so incredibly amazing and aligned with it.
