People who were in there, some of them knew me from fitness days, some of them knew me from Isagenix, some of them knew me from all of these different places that were anywhere from five to even up to 12 years ago. You guys, people underestimate, like, the amount of time it takes to build relationship capital. Like, they want everything in a year or two years, and it just. It just does not work that way. And we're back with another episode of.
He Said, she, she Said.
And we're literally back from Beverly Hills, where last night we just hosted our second ever dinner series, Advanced Networking Mastermind. And it was freaking awesome.
It was. Oh, my gosh. This came out of one of those ideas where it's like, stupid idea time. What if we created something that was, like, our actual daydream to attend, and it would be the way that we want to meet people and network and have deep conversations and facilitate a room of incredible humans who not only want more, but are also aspirational or there's a lot of aspirations, inspirational people in the room. There's a lot of people whose maybe the dreams that you have are their realities that they are living. And also, like, what if it was a room that we all had to kind of show up for? Meaning get a little bit more dressed up, dress as the next best version of ourself, and just connect and network and see how we can all help each other. And so that's where the dinner series came from. And it was an absolute daydream. I feel like the people who show up just consistently blow my mind of how kind and generous and welcoming and real and fun. So I can tell you that these events, like, I woke up this morning feeling so good. Like, a lot of times at events in the past, like, I. I would experience being tired, which is totally normal and totally fine. But there's something about this one, too, that just. I. I feel really energized.
Yeah, totally. I woke up, like, filled with energy, and last night even went to bed filled with energy instead of being drained. And that shows you're in the right place, doing the right thing that's super aligned with you. It's funny because you and I are going to take away, like, three, four takeaways that we want to share. Brendan Bouchard came and spoke, and we had really awesome takeaways from Mike Gagnino, came and taught them how to do their 32nd story. We had awesome takeaways from him and then even takeaways from some of the guests that were there. And we just Thought it'd be really valuable if we plucked those takeaways out of the room and dropped them into the podcast here so that you can grow and benefit even though you might not have been in the room. But the first thing that made me so damn proud and was seeing all of those boxes of glossy, you know, 120 people in the room, seeing 120 boxes on the tables all lined up, a gift to them. It was just a surreal moment, Lori, where the product that you fought to bring to market and that you had to do a major pivot and just all the things the past three years, seeing it there in person and everybody getting it was just a really neat moment for me as a husband to see on your behalf.
Oh, my God. I mean, it was actually. It's just like hard to wrap my brain around that. Finally looking out at our event, I can put out glossy. And what's really cool is so many people were like, oh my God, thank God, because when I travel, I don't feel like myself. And they were all drinking it right away. And, you know, everyone had cocktails. So they were drinking it that night before they went to bed. And I'm just really grateful for all the people who are are telling me how much they love it.
Honey. The couple that came up and she's like, okay, my husband loves it and he's taking three a day, she said. So we both just had to double up on our orders. That was really freaking cool to see again as a husband who watched his wife fight so long and so hard to bring something to market, to watch people loving it is a really special thing.
I believe in this product with my whole heart.
Well, and you're putting your money where your mouth is. You said you want to get even more first time products in first time mouths, if that makes sense. So you just upped your discount for the podcast? What is it?
I did. It's $20 off your first subscription order. So you can go check out code Happy and go try it for the first time. You guys. I want everybody to experience it. Literally.
Go to get glocy G L, O c. I get glocy.com, use coupon code happy and now get $20 off. That's freaking awesome.
First time subscribers.
First time subscribers. Okay, so first takeaway. I know I've got two, three. You've got two, three. I wanted to share them with the podcast listeners. So again, we're always trying to help our community grow, even if you're not in the room. What's your first takeaway.
You know what? I want to use Mike Ganino's first because he helped kick us off with our 32nd intros. And his is all about being memorable. When you do those elevator pitches, when people say, hey, what do you do? And you're stuck going, I'm a podcast host and I write books and I have events. People are like, cool for what you know. And so he helped reframe and let's use him. For example, he's what he calls a keynote director, but essentially like a speaker coach. But he said even when he's introducing himself, he's like, okay, well, I'm a speaker coach, but you know when people have a keynote coming up or a talk or they want to do their first talk and they feel really nervous and they don't know how to tell a story and they feel like they don't have a story. Yeah, I help people get really good at being on stage. And so when, boom, you paint a picture of exactly what he does. So he said the title, but then he really said who he's for, what problem he solves. So it just paints the picture. And you can't unsee it when you introduce yourself that way. And notice that was what, 10 seconds long? So that was my first one.
I thought it was brilliant the way that he said, you know, first of all, he corrected them all. He's like, guys, stop trying to make it so fancy. You know, you mentioned the first one. Stop saying, you do 50 things like, pick one. Don't worry, they'll learn about the others later. So pick one that is most important to you right now or that is applicable to the person you're talking to. And then the second thing was, stop trying to make yourself like, I help advanced mothers in the space of X, Y and Z. Take on the new realm of. He's like, people don't talk that way. And so they don't know how to refer you and they don't know how to give you business. He's like, dumb it down and tell them what problem you solve. And I just loved the format he gave him. Like, I am a speaker coach. But you know when people struggle with X, Y, and Z and when they're stuck on A, B, and C. Yeah, those are the exact ones I help, and here's how I do it. I just thought, that's so good because you just told them how to refer you. You just told them what makes you kind of differently or what your special sauce is all within that 10 to 30 seconds. And now you Have a captive audience that will ask you more about what you do. I'm telling you, nailing that 30 second story, because that's all you get. To win someone over or not. Nailing that 30 second story is absolutely crucial. So hopefully you guys can kind of steal and use that format and get some value out of that. I'll tell you my takeaway. One of my takeaways was playing the long game, and it showed up in a few ways. One, Brendan Burchard was there. You know, what a. Just. What a stud. God, I love him. He's just such a great human being. So major thank you to Brendan for coming. Literally just flew all the way there just to talk to a group and then leave. Like, what an incredible human being. And he wowed them. He blew their socks off, obviously.
I mean, out of the park, like, beyond what I've been in a room in a long time.
But, you know, they asked him a question, they said, hey, what is it like when you keep pouring into people but you can't measure the roi? How do you know that's contributing to your success? And he said, you know, it's contributing to your. To your success if you're doing it consistently and you're not attached to an immediate roi. He's like, if you're not attached to an ROI at all, just serve, serve, serve. And know that those are, in my words, not his seeds you're planting, and that one day those seeds will form a crop in some form, even if it's far further down the road than you expect, because you're always going to need some new crop in life, right? So as long as you're concentrated on giving, AKA planting the seeds, and you have absolutely no timeline for return, and as long as you do that consistently, every day that you wake up down the road, some crop is going to sprout for you. You're not going to know necessarily when you planted that seed, but they'll be cropped there waiting for you. And that's just so powerful to not be so attached to the short game. Now, listen, have urgency, move the rocks that you can move, but make sure you're playing that long game. And we had a real example. I thought this was kind of cool. So we met a really neat couple, Becca and Willow, that were there. And she's like, oh, my God, I followed you guys since I saw you on stage at Angie Lee's. Pays to be brave. I think that was 2017 all the way. Since that. And this is the first thing of yours that I'VE come to. It was just the right time for us to come to something. And I thought, my God, six years ago, seven years ago, a stage that we were on was enough to catch someone's attention. And then by giving, giving, giving, right, Podcasts, social media, whatever, for seven years, we're able to keep them on our radar. And then all of a sudden, they're like, hey, this is the right time. This is the right product. I'm going to buy it from you. And by the way, what a cool couple. They're just crushing it. Like, they were a really inspiring couple to meet. I just thought that was so cool. Evidence of playing the long game. You don't know when their crop is going to sprout, but you're going to need it one day. What's one of yours?
I mean, I just want to add to that that the room of people who were in there, some of them have been, you know, some of them knew me from fitness days, Some of them knew me from Isagenix. Some of them knew me from all of these different places that were anywhere from five to even up to 12 years ago, you guys. So it's like when people want something, that's something that just hit me. When Brendan said it, he was like, people underestimate, like, the amount of time it takes essentially to, like, build relationship capital. Like, they want everything in year or two years. And it just. It just does not work that way. So the other thing that Brennan said was done by one. And what he meant with done by one was nobody can talk to him before 1pm because we had asked him. This came off of the back of the question saying, brendon, you're like one of the busiest people we know. How do you still seem to make your relationship such a priority in the most important thing? And he gave us a couple answers around that. And he's like, look, I actually, he's like, I'm probably less busy than you all think because I'm just so, so good with my schedule. And so he takes everything before one for himself, whether that is taking care of himself and getting all of his needs that he needs to get done for his needle movers done by 1pm no one can bother him. Nobody. Like, I'm sure he has such boundaries about what he even checks and what he even looks at. And he doesn't get back to texts. He doesn't do any of it except the things that he needs to prioritize and get done. And everything else falls after that 1:00pm.
It'S so funny because like, you know, we obviously text back and forth a lot, but when he said that, I realized like, oh my God, he never texts after one. He literally upholds that boundary. You know, I've always, my, my time has always changed, but I always called it our protected time, right? You can't get a hold of us while we're in our protected time, while we're filling our cups first so that we can then pour out of a full cup for everybody else. And you know, mine's 10 o' clock right now. And that's when I'm doing everything else, getting my needles moved where they need to be moved so I can then be free and effective for everybody else after that.
So the other thing that piggybacked off of that was we said, okay, you're like the busiest person talking about the priority thing. You prioritize your relationships. And he told us the done by one. But then he said, on Fridays I have something called Finisher Fridays where I dedicate one to two hours for all of my relationships and I just shoot off texts to everybody that I care about checking in, how are you? What's going on? And he responds to all those texts back and forth for check two hours, you guys. And I was like, oh my God, every time I get a thoughtful text from him, it's on a Friday. And I'm like, oh my gosh, this is the best thing ever that I want to incorporate. And he schedules it in so it's not like, okay, maybe I should think of that person. Or how do you always think of these people? How do you always think of these people? He's got these people's names on a list in a schedule on Fridays, you guys. How much easier is this for your bandwidth and keeping up communication with people that you love? It's so simple. 2026 is the year that you launch your business.

Yeah, and then the last takeaway that I saw a couple times in there was when Brendan talked about he went in this Great big talk about, you know, why am I where I am today and why are other talented people maybe not where they want to be? And he said, the difference is I come into rooms like this and then I do two things. I make the follow up and I make the ask. He said, I've never been afraid to follow up and I've never been afraid to ask. Whereas everybody else comes in the rooms and then they start a relationship. They see somebody with a potential answer or solution that they need, but they get in their heads and they don't do the follow up or they get in their heads and they don't make the ask. He said, that's literally it. He said, I'm not more talented, I'm not more this, I'm not more that. I just make the follow up and I make the ask. And then that's how I built such great relationships, is I didn't start a relationship and then let it die. And I thought, oh, it's powerful because I know really high performers, really high performers where I'm constantly shaking them by the shoulders as a friend or as a coach. I'm like, you're not making the follow up. You're not making the ask. Why haven't you followed up with this person yet? Why haven't you asked this person yet for this thing or that? And I understand human nature, man. It's even tough for me sometimes. I don't like to ask for help. But, gosh, when you do, when you're the first to follow up and when you're free to make the ask, that's when everything finally starts tilting your way. Instead of wondering where that spark went, wondering where that relationship, wondering where that opportunity went.
Yeah, it was just, I think it's our favorite, one of our favorite events that we get to do. And the fact that we get to do it together, I think brings a really cool dynamic as well into the room and the stage and who comes in there, because it's just all different types of people. We were looking around at the room and I'm like, this is such a diverse group of businesses. Like, it is brick and mortars, it's online businesses, it's CPG companies, consumer packaged goods. It's like all over the board. We have actors in there, we have performers in there, we have stage coaches in there. It's quite crazy. But that is where the richness of why you find these answers and these connections come from.
Yeah, it's really cool room. Listen, if you guys want to join the November one, we're going to open up a small handful of seats, not very many of them.
