for the women, they keep hearing about the skin, the inflammation, and the weight loss. What are a couple other categories? I know there's some for like, oh my— sex. Is that men and women? Where is it? Men and women.
I read about it and take it like, you know, 20 minutes before. I take double the dose not knowing it. So 20 minutes later, we were done, and I'm like, no offense, babe, but I didn't know. I was like, oh well, whatever. Go to bed, wake up at 5 in the morning because I had to use the bathroom, and I'm like, What the fuck is happening?
You guys, welcome to another episode of I'm Obsessed, and I have my co-host here, Stephanie Gambetta. And you guys, we've been having so much fun with this podcast. And while it is primarily focused on peptide conversations right now because we are partners, We are going to be branching out and talking about all of the things we're obsessed with. But because so many people right now with our partnership and what we're doing are excited, we're going to go deep and make sure that you have at least 4 episodes.
Yeah.
To completely dive into in the beginning so that I can refer all of you back to that as well, because my text messages are going crazy, which you guys, I'm so obsessed because I'm learning so much about what people are afraid of, what they want, what they're excited about, how relieved they were when they heard our last podcast. Like, relieved.
They're like, vulnerable now. I feel like—
totally, totally. They're like, oh my God, there's an actual, like, possible solution for how I've been feeling, and that I don't have to accept, you know, aging the way that I thought I was going to have to accept it. Or just however you feel. If you're 25 or 35 listening to this, like there's a lot of stuff we think that just has to be the way that it is. And we've never questioned that there's something else out there, which is just crazy because there's so many things now, especially with AI, that literally I feel like we're just discovering new things faster and faster.
Oh my God. The pet world changes every 2 minutes. Every 2 minutes. I think what I'm loving too, Lori, is like you have such a loyal following for so long and they trust you and they show up and they listen to your podcast and like they really trust what's coming out of your mouth. And I know if you were to recommend something, they're like, okay, if Lori does— like, she's authentic, she's real, she would never ever put her name on something that she didn't believe in.
Yeah.
And the peptide world is crazy on Instagram. And I mean, we talked about last time, like, where I started, like, no one was on there talking about peptides. And so I think one of the reasons also on my side that Loop has done so well is that there was— there has to be a trust, and there really has to be like, okay, like This person is gonna show me the ropes. 'Cause it is scary, right?
Yeah.
It's, it's confusing. It's scary. And it's even more confusing now when like, God forbid you're on TikTok. I mean, you hear like every story and then they, and everything is like contradicting each other or scary stories, right?
Yeah.
Where like someone wasn't so smart or like, you know, got peptides that weren't pure. And that happens a lot.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Let's, let's actually start there because I think that, you know, for me that was kind of one of the things that kept me from wanting to do it right away.
Yeah.
Even though I was like, wait a minute, I would love to have, you you know, the experience that she's having. So let's start there because I see it a lot in the text message conversations that I'm having as well. What are some of the main things or the main reasons why people are afraid to start peptides that you have heard of?
Okay, so think of like how we're normally consuming anything. Yeah, you're taking a pill usually, right? You're taking a pill, you're taking a syrup or maybe a nose spray. But like injecting something is not what we're used to. It's not— I do really believe in society-wise, like in the future, most things, even supplements, will start to be injected because they're just so much more bioavailable.
You absorb it so much faster and better that you're not wasting money and peeing everything out.
Absolutely. So I think the biggest barrier to entry is literally reconstituting your peptides, which means adding bacteriostatic water to the powder, which is a supplement, which turns it into a peptide. That scares people 'cause there's this like big long needle and you're like, what if I add too much water or too little water? And they're not realizing it's just water. So it's gonna be, either a little more potent or a little less. It's fine. It's like a chemistry class, but it's nerve-wracking because you've never done it before. And then needle's like— then you think, is this needle going to go inside of me? And I'm like, no, the big needle. People make—
my parents thought too.
And people make the mistake the first time, they're so eager. And I'm like, you did what?
But they're fine.
Everyone's fine. That's the nice thing is I think people also feel like you can like OD. Now you won't feel very good, but you're not going to OD or be in the hospital. It— they're an amino acid chain. I think that's where everyone just needs to be Like, okay, just because it's injected does not mean that it needs to be terrifying. Then you have the needle, right? And so you're like, okay, you're like looking at this little insulin needle and you're like, oh my gosh. And the amount of FaceTimes I do, I feel good. I'm very intimate. I'm like, take that fat and just let's get it out there. Lift your shirt up. And they do it once and they're like, oh, that was nothing.
I just did this with my brother.
Right?
No, because he was so afraid of needles that he started to like pass out even before he did it. And I was like, nope, sit down. Yeah, grab your fat roll.
Yes. I mean, it's what it is. Like, let's just call it what it is. Where's the most fat? Let's do it. But also, it's funny of how many men, no offense to the men, are so scared.
Yeah.
And a lot of their wives or girlfriends are injecting them. They're like, oh, I just inject them in the glute, you know?
Yeah.
They don't even notice. But eventually what I do is I try to really say, okay, you gotta self-advocate a little and learn how to do it yourself. 'Cause when you're traveling, you wanna be consistent. Yeah. But I think that's the biggest piece is just the whole process of just like, by when you, when you order them, you're scared, right? And they're expensive. Defensive. You're kind of like, did I make a mistake? And then when they come now, you're like, what do I do with it? I mean, I, I had this problem with a lot of things. I order something and then I look at it and I'm like, that's gonna be really hard to put together. And then it sits in my corner.
Yes. Right.
Instead of like not being overwhelmed, I think people get really overwhelmed. And so I think that's something that we are working with at The Loop Way of just really having a supportive, like that first injection live call that you can be on with other people and you can feel like, or your coach can FaceTime you so you're not nervous cuz you do it once and then you're kind of off to the races. Yes. But that's really, to be honest, it's just I think the type of injection is the way we're doing it. And then also just that you hear the horror stories of people saying like, do I have to be on this the rest of my life? What if I'm really sick? And so I think they take in all the stuff they've seen on social media or read and heard. And so their head is just like, uh-huh.
I think that's another big one that I've gotten from so many people that I know is, am I going to have to be on this the rest of my life? What if it stops working? Am I going to gain all the weight back and then some? How about that?
I kind of usually ask them a question back, like, okay, so look, are you on thyroid medicine? You take that and you're on it the rest of your life. Are you on a statin? You take that the rest of your life. Most people are taking vitamin D. You take that regularly. So my answer is like, that might not be a bad thing, right? But no, are you a slave to it? Absolutely not. And so it happens at the Loop way especially is like, and you've seen this cuz we had a, we had a big moment here with you. It's like low and slow and being patient, right?.
Right.
And so I think what happens, and it's not no one's fault, but it's just like, you, you know, you, you take it after one week, it's not working and you wanna inject again. Like, really you wanna wait two weeks and see, and then after two weeks you're gonna be like, okay, even if you literally have lost like 0.5, I'm happy. Like, I want to— you want to actually have the most results with the least amount of GLP, especially like GLPs are a little different category. Usually everyone's asking GLPs, do I stay on the rest of my life? When I work with you, I'm trying to keep you at the highest— is a little bit over a low dose— and we play with other peptides. When you're on that, Lori, you can play with it like weekly if you want to. You don't have to titrate down majorly. It's not like you're having these big swings. And so really, if you trust me, we're going to do this very low and slow, as a lot with lifestyle changes as well. And then all of a sudden you're like, okay, I get this. Like, I get that there's not big swings, there's barely any side effects, and then it becomes something that is simply a tool. So like, I tell, you know, someone the other day was like, oh my gosh, my doctor said I can't go to Europe with my peptides, and she was freaking out. And I was like, well, I've got someone in Italy right now going everywhere and she's fine. I've been to tons of places. However, I also say it's a great time to take a break. Totally. And so when you're on a dose, you can just say, oh, I'm not going to bring it with me, or it gets— God forbid it gets taken away. Look, you're not going to have this like crash. No, you're not going to all of a sudden have this like I'm starving. Because what people don't understand, especially when you're working with a coach or a group, is like, I want you to be hungry. Mm-hmm. So like, it's not like I'm hungry, I'm gonna increase my dose. No, no, no. So I think that's just understanding how do you use a GLP as a tool. If you're using it as a tool, then it's gonna be a great experience. If you're using it literally as a huge crutch and doing nothing else and not eating and being sick, I mean, we got a whole mess of problems.
Yeah, that's— I think that's, uh, something I've seen across the board is like whenever people start it, I'm always like, look, this is not— you have to change your lifestyle because if you think you're going to rely on this and go lose 30 pounds, which you will, you can, but if you're gonna eat terrible, like what's gonna happen is you're kind of gonna start to just plateau and you're gonna have a bad weekend and you're gonna think you need more and then you're gonna feel worse and you're gonna be tired and like the higher your dose goes, the more you start to like get a side effect if you go really high. And it's— it, it becomes like this Band-Aid for people that all of a sudden is not being used as like this amazing tool that it is. And so if it's done anything for me, it's made me want to get even more healthy, dialed in, because I'm like, this is the most powerful tool that I've ever used in my entire life. Like, it has made me feel better than I could possibly imagine, and it's, it's made me really pay attention to how much water I'm drinking. Am I getting my electrolytes? Am I eating healthy food? Like all of those things. So that's really exciting. Okay.
Well, because also one thing to that, Lori, that thing is important is like, okay, at what cost, right? Do you want your hair to fall out?
Exactly.
You want to ruin your metabolism? So like, I think just generally as Americans, we're like, you just want a quick fix. And so I'm like, I know you have this event, you want to be snatched in 6 weeks, but like at what cost?
Yeah, exactly.
So I think just having that kind of conversation and then taking the shame away, like I have a lot of clients who come in and they are on the max trisepatide. I mean, that's a lot of trisepatide, to be honest. I would never be able to do it.
I'd feel terrible.
It's— I mean, it's— yeah, it's 15mg, 15 a week.
Wow. Yeah.
And so it's kind of how do we get them down? And they're terrified because they are really a slave to it. So it's like you just never want to get there. If you're there, we can work with you. We just never want to get you even close to a max dose. It's just unnecessary. At all.
Yeah, that's crazy. Okay, so let's talk about— I know that you just said something that probably made people go, what the hell? Um, the hair loss thing. So I just want to say that typically comes, if I understand, is people like when they cut off their appetite, they're not really eating, so they're not getting nutrients, they're not getting the fats that they need, and then that's when hair can fall out.
Well, it's like anything, like your body's going to start to preserve things, right? Because it needs energy to keep your heart beating and like everything else. It's like you don't need hair. Yeah. So then you're asking yourself, your hair is falling out. You're like, okay, I've— and usually you'll can— if you're— I tell anyone, if you're losing more than a pound a week, you're gonna get yourself into trouble.
Mm-hmm.
In the beginning, oftentimes someone's like, oh my God, I lost 5 pounds really quickly. A lot. It's inflammation, it's water weight. There's a lot. Your body's kind of adjusting. So I'm not really worried the first 2 weeks, 3 weeks. If it's a consistent thing, then we really have to work with the dosage. But usually if that's the case, you're like, I don't— I'm not hung— I'm not eating. Like you're, you're aware. And so you just never want to get to the place where like your hair is falling out. Yeah. I mean, it's a whole nother set of— No, that's a whole—
Yeah, you don't want to, but it's not the GLP.
Yeah, it's your lifestyle.
Totally. Okay, so now let's chat about the conversation around what are research peptides, what is telehealth.
So good. Okay, now I want everyone to understand research peptides exist because of kind of the way the administration has changed things. So I'm going to make this kind of as, as quick as I can. Yeah, there's 503, 503, and then there's research-based peptides. So 503 is where you have to have FDA-approved peptides made. Your GLPs, tesamorlin— there's a small handful that are FDA-approved. They have to be made in a certain facility. Then 503 are compounding facilities where, you know, you can get a thyroid medicine done there. Any doctor can actually have a medicine— medication made there that is unique to Lori, like what you need. They legally, they have to actually treat you and make sure that you're safe. And so sometimes you can't use a certain medication, so they can create one for you through a compounding pharmacy. So most peptides lived in 503, and so they were able to be produced. Doctors for, you know, until 2023 were writing prescriptions for BPC and peptides that you really like for a long time. Biden administration came in and all of a sudden said, we are gonna put these on a do not compound list and a Category 2 do not compound list. And to legally do that, it has to show that there was harm. There was—
they—
so they did it illegally. And there's a lot of reasons you can say Big Pharma, you can say FDA, but they all got moved. So now what happens is these doctors who are normally used to writing these scripts, working very well with their patients, now it's, quote, illegal to do that. So what are they going to do? They're like, well, My patients have had tons of success with their autoimmune disease, with their gut issues, with their brain, with their mitochondria, all the great stuff. And now I'm just not going to give it to them.
Mm-hmm.
And so what happens is this research market got— this is the workaround, basically.
Mm-hmm.
And so what happens is, now mind you, they're made by the same chemists in a different facility that's marked for research-based peptides only. Ours have to be 99.9% pure. FDA's only have to be 98% pure to be an FDA-approved peptide. So just because something says FDA approved on it does not mean it's necessarily safer or better. It's just different. So the research peptide is you basically, Lori, you're going to say, I got— I want this peptide that I can't get anywhere else, right? I want to get MOTC right now. I'm so excited about it. Well, you can't get it from a compounding pharmacy. You can't get it from telehealth. And I'll get into telehealth in a second. So you can get in the research world, which is exciting. But when you get in the research world, you're basically saying that you're not going to use it on yourself. You're going to use it on a rat. You're agreeing to that. That's how you legally can get it. However, when you do get it, you have enough places to go where you get education, you understand, you know, it's a safe place. It's been tested by a third party. It has its, um, COAs and you trust the company. They're really good peptides, very clean peptides. There's nothing to worry about. Now let's go to telehealth. Telehealth right now is only gonna be able to give you FDA-approved peptides. So there's like a small handful of them. They're much more expensive. I like telehealth. I wish every single peptide would be on there one day. So eventually, at the end of July, if the administration brings these 9 peptides back to 503, you can get them on telehealth. So it'll make it a little bit easier if you're worried for some reason about research because of the name or not quite understanding the whole process. You can go through telehealth. It has its own set of problems sometimes, but there'll be more peptides hopefully offered there.
Yeah, it's interesting. And just, just so people understand, like, I went through a version of telehealth when I first started, and it was really expensive. And if people are like, oh, but there's guidance and there's all these things with it— there was not. Yeah, it was the fastest phone call and then got it and had such a high dosage that I was like ill. Yeah, because I did not— my instructions were crazy. It was like, start here, which was high, and then it was by like week 2, go up more. Then week 3 was go up more. Then week 4—
can you imagine in 4 weeks going up every single week?
It was insane. And so my First dosage, I was like in bed. I was so tired. I was sick.
I can't work.
It was awful. And so I did not have a great experience. And so that is why I love when people come into Loop. I'm like, book a phone call. Like, get— this will make your whole journey much easier, so much better. You'll have a great experience. You'll be able to ask all of the questions. Like, it'll be very specific for you.
Yes, which is very important. Yes, I think that's the most important. And Telehealth has a place. Yeah, I think what's happening is that there's a— I mean, the Wall Street Journal just did a big article on it. There's a telehealth popping up every other week, you know, with Serena Williams on the face or Tom Brady or, you know, Joe Schmo, who it is. Now, it's not a bad thing, but like at the end of the day, it's just checking off a box. You don't actually— most of them talk to a doctor.
Mm-hmm.
So even with Loop, like you're gonna get— before you decide where you want to go to purchase certain peptides based on what you need, you're gonna understand the whole landscape.
Yep.
And then you'll make the most educated decision for yourself. And that's with me as a coach, I always say, now you, I've given you the landscape, this is what we've suggested or whatnot. Now you go make an educated decision what's best for you.

Okay, let's talk about where people, some of the best spots for people to start.
In terms of which peptides?
Yes.
Oh, okay.
Mm-hmm. Let's say right now they're curious and they're like, okay, what do I do? Number one, you can go down and you can text the phone number that is below in the show notes and you text the word loop to that phone number. And I literally personally am getting that conversation started. Um, but then we're gonna see if you want a phone call too, but I want them to like feel very educated around where they should start around easy steps. Yeah.
And so I, You don't have to have blood work, which is the interesting piece. I really, really encourage it. There's certain peptides for men you have to, but I really encourage it because you want a baseline. So if someone comes in without blood work and has a call with me, for instance, I say, yeah, when was your last blood work? Let's say it was 4 months ago. I said, okay, no problem. I said, within the first month, I would like you to run this panel. And we give blood work at cost, so it makes it really easy for them to get it just so we have a baseline. Because what you'll see with peptides is like, you might not know what's going on the outside yet, and then you get your blood work back 3 months later and you're like, oh my God, my cholesterol's been cut in half. Oh my God, my lipid panel's down. You know, like there's a lot of ways that you can see that it's working internally. So that's why I do love blood work. But I think as a coach, the most important thing for me is like going through that intake form.
Mm-hmm.
I learn a lot about somebody.
Mm-hmm.
And then the conversation, I learn a lot more about them. And that's kind of where the starting place, right, is. Cuz like the pet food has to meet you where you're at and what you're willing to do and how much either weight you wanna lose or energy you want or brain function or gut. What are you really working on? And half the time Lori's like, I like to get someone back to homeostasis. Mm-hmm. Like we're just getting them back to actually like getting their body to not be so inflamed, you know, getting their gut to be in check, just feeling better. Mm-hmm. And once they start to feel better, your body's primed for a GLP or it's primed for a peptide that might help with your mitochondria or really get your fire metabolism on fire. So to answer your question, The best place to start is a 15-minute free call or just book a coaching call with one myself. I have a lot of coaches who specialize in different things. Doctor, then you know you have a foundation. And I think, well, I know my clients have the most success start off with a coaching call. And once you start to educate a little bit, like, I'm not, I don't wanna be your therapist. If I'm doing a good job, I'm gonna be holding your hand for the first 2 weeks. You're off to the races. I don't wanna hear from you for 10 weeks. Like, I want you in my community. I want you learning and growing, but you should be fine if I've done my job. And then in 10 weeks, oftentimes they'll check back in and say, okay, I'm about to go off the stack. What do I do on this month off? What are your thoughts? And it's time for us like to reset, regroup, and then the next 3 months they're off to the races again. And then you get into a lifestyle. So we start off just really meeting you where you're at, I guess, is kind of answering your question. That's where to start is with a coach.
Okay, cool. And then let's talk about some stacks that most people start on. Yeah. And maybe from you know, you're coming in and one of the things that you're— I'm just seeing so much of the same response in my, uh, texts, and it's saying, you know, I definitely have a little weight that I want to lose. I think I'm so inflamed, like, I think I have so much inflammation that I just don't feel good in my body. So let's start with, like, if they could only get one, and then let's say if they could get two, and then three. I know this is hard. One, I know, and it depends on the person. Yeah, it depends on the person.
But, and, and I— and also financially, you've got to sometimes— I think BBC is first thing I would place, I would start BPC or KPV. They're not like super exciting. They're not like, oh my gosh, it's a GLP, I'm gonna, you know, be snatched in a week. But what they are going to find in both of these peptides is they're very much anti-inflammatory. So I usually start them on one depending if someone has a lot of gut issues going on, brain fog, not feeling good, I'll put them on KPV. Your skin clears up. Um, it's a peptide that has zero side effects except that you feel good and you really will notice inflammation going down. So it's a great peptide. And then BPC, if you've got aches pains and injuries, or you're like, hey, I want to get into the gym, as I start, it'll make it so you're not as sore. But it really also works with inflammation. So those are the kind of the two for the inflammation. I usually pick one based on our conversation of kind of what's going on with you, how are you feeling. But just alone on those, you will feel a lot better.
Okay, so let's move up the ladder. If you're like, okay, you know what, I really want to get started with more optimizing. And for the women, they keep hearing about the skin, the inflammation, and the weight loss. Yeah. So if we're gonna—
so I love a microdose of GLP. I mean, I just feel like if you're— if a client is— doesn't have huge autoimmune issues going on, right, or has things going on with their thyroid or their cortisol— so a lot of them that come in on perimenopause are dealing with a lot of other things that I really address with a few other peptides first. But if someone's coming in there just like, hey, I'm feeling really good, I just, I want to lose 15 pounds. You know, I get excited with that too, because I'm like, you're doing all the things and nothing's working.
Yeah.
Usually I'll put them on Loop Lean, which is tirzepatide.
Yeah.
And BPC, just those two. And they work in a beautiful marriage together. So if someone has— wants to lose more than 10 pounds, I start them with tirzepatide, which is Lean, which is great, dual agonist. It works faster, which people kind of want to— when I say faster, it's all relative. They want to jumpstart. They don't want to wait like you had to wait like 12 weeks to start seeing things going. They— and when it's more weight, I want them to have that because we can always move on to Red Hot Truth Tied, which is Loop Lean and Burn, which I'll get into in a second. But I really start people on those two. I feel great. They usually have wonderful experience, low and slow, and we're off to the races. Then I will say to them, okay, Do you want to try NAD? A lot of women want to try NAD because it's for their energy, their mitochondria. They feel a ton better. It's funny, men are like, I don't really feel it. I'm like, hmm, because we're used to feeling like shit, you know, and they're used to like feeling great. So NAD, oftentimes I'll let somebody— let's say when I say let, like, I'll do the first month just stay on BPC and your microdose of GLP. And if you're feeling great, your body's used to it, then I will either do NAD, we'll do GHK-C or Glow, which is just a peptide that is just for your hair, skin, and nails.
And yeah.
It works really well. One of the most studied peptides. Yeah. So that's kind of really the starter pack when you're not dealing with other chronic things in your body.
You know, I also love that you talk about, you know, we can start with these two and then let's see how they work for the month because, yeah, you know, what happens is I got really excited to want to try everything at once, but some of them, you know, some of them can make you feel a certain way or maybe they don't necessarily work work for you, but a lot of them do. But it's like, you won't know which one did not work if you start them all at once, or meaning which one is maybe making you feel a certain way. Yes. And so I've loved just kind of going slow and introducing something new.
Um, and I just have one, like, peptides aren't gonna go anywhere. They're here to stay.
Totally.
And so it's just like, we, you have your whole life. What people don't realize too, Lori, is like, as we start working on your inflammation in your body, your insulin resistance, that then we gotta start to work on your mitochondria. When you can work on your mitochondria, which is— NAD is a good place to start.
Yeah.
Everything else starts working better. So people need to understand too, is the peptides start to build on each other and then how you stack them together makes a difference in terms of like really understanding what the year is going to look like. Like, for instance, like when I go in sometimes to get my facialist or I said, let's— what's the year plan? When do I get a laser?
When do I do this?
Right. Because I want— is everything builds on each other.
Yes.
Same thing with peptides. Like, you really want to get your body primed for when you introduce some of the heavier lifting ones, like the big mitochondria stacks, which I love, because you're really, really primed for your peptides once you do that.
But you can't—
you don't want to start there. You want to eventually get there. A guy on TikTok last night I was watching, I was like doom scrolling on my vibration plate, he's like, "I'm on 17 peptides." Oh God. "Don't do what I do." And I'm like thinking like, I would never be on 17 peptides, and I know a ton about peptides.
Yeah, there's—
I mean, it's irresponsible for me to even talk about it, much less be on himself. And that's where I think it gets very confusing. And you get like, everyone's talking about MOTC, which I think is like, no one was talking about MOTC 6 months ago. Now I feel like MOTC is like the, the, you know, bell of the ball, the new hot thing. MOTC is great, but it needs to be done responsibly. It needs to be done at the right time. And our protocols is MOTC supposed to be pulsed? And it's not in the way that we do it and that I believe in it. It's not something you take every day. It's something that is done 3 or 4 times a year. And that's the cycles that we do. It's done at the right time. It's one of my favorites, favorite peptides. But you don't want to just jump into it because somebody on Instagram is like, MOTC is the hottest thing. I'm like, your body's not ready for MOTC. Yeah, trust me.
Which is why with what we all have at Loop, there's like the coaching calls. Like, you should literally, before you start different things, go get a coaching call and make a plan. Yeah. Which is— it will be the difference, you guys, between which— if, if you know a lot about peptides, great. But if you don't, it will be the difference between a great experience and a great result and getting your money's worth.
Right.
Like, this is the whole point. Like, it's make that tiny, teeny, tiny investment on a call, which is, you know, sometimes what, $75 to $100?
And I'm more expensive, but with mine, I give you 30% off your first order.
Yeah.
And so it pay— ends up paying for itself.
Yeah.
If you're doing it right. Cuz otherwise you're also gonna like get a peptide, it's not right for you, it doesn't work, and you throw it away.
You throw it away and you wasted that money.
Yeah.
So it is so worth it whether you're going with Loop or with something else. You guys like literally book the call because I really believe it's the difference between someone who can stay on and make these work for them or someone who goes, they didn't work for me.
Right. And also a lot of peptides I just talked about are under $150.
Yeah.
So I think there's also this notion that like peptides are so expensive. Some of them are. And if you get yourself in a pickle and you're on a high dose of a GLP, you are on a very expensive plan, habit tool.
Yeah.
But if done the right way, like you can definitely start off definitely under $500 with 2 peptide, way under if you want to.
Yeah.
And we discuss that too. Like I don't assume that everyone has this crazy budget. And so I think there's a perception that I get asked a lot, how expensive is this? Because I think people think— and there are people who are just ripping people off.
So for sure, spending thousands and thousands and thousands of these concierge doctors.
I love you, but like, come on.
Yeah, it can be very crazy.
Yeah.
Okay, let's talk about the fact that so many people don't know that there are peptides for a million different things.
Yeah.
So can you kind of name the categories? Sure. And then we can dive into kind of like one or— you had talked about Motsi. I know. Yeah, let's put that in a category as well. But name the categories and then let's name a couple from each category.
So we'll start off with the weight loss just because everyone loves that. So we have the GLPs, right? So you have Lupulin, which is tirzepatide, dual agonist. And then we have retatrutide, which is the new queen. She's wonderful. And it's a triple agonist, which means there's a glucagon receptor, a more fat-burning receptor. We'll get into retatrutide, I think, on its own podcast. Yeah, really dive into it. Totally. It's—
most people are going to start with tirzepatide and it's amazing. Yes, it's really what I think in my personal opinion. I had a great experience. On it. I think that's really what you want to start with.
And I do say to people, like, the great thing is, like, when it's not working as well at some point, or you're just feeling like you want a boost, you can always go to Red Hot Truthide.
Totally.
So it's like, why start— it's like the old iPhone's just as good as the new iPhone except for maybe the camera.
Yeah.
So I just think it's not because it's new. I, I have to say, I actually coach and lean way more to Loop Lean to start, and then eventually we kind of get there. It's also more expensive, and it's not necessarily better. Um, and then we also have some orals, you know, that we— you can use to for some weight loss. And I think that's like— they lean into a category that kind of works with your mitochondria as well. But we have 5-Amino-1, and we have Sloop, which is actually something that's almost like exercise in a bottle. It works with your mitochondria, it helps with your insulin resistance, it helps with your energy. We pair those a lot together because they're oral, so we can deep dive into those. Those are kind of the weight loss categories that we fall into.
Okay, just real quick, you keep saying mitochondria, and I want people to know, like, when you're saying that, what are we doing with our mitochondria?
Okay, so your mitochondria is like the powerhouse of the cell. Everything works around your mitochondria. And as we get older, because of our stress and our toxins and mold and you name it, like, obviously our cells get really compromised. And so they'll get weak and they get holes in them and they're not working as well and you don't feel good. That's why we age. It's just a natural aging process. And so when you go in and do some of these mitochondria peptides, which happen to be my favorite because it's what took me from like feeling really great in my body to like energetically being like, oh my gosh, Wow, I feel like I'm 20. Yeah, I feel like I'm there. And so our mitochondria ones, for the most part, like when you can do an NAD, like you can supplement with NAD on a regular basis, it's great. But I'd say it's kind of like a maintenance thing that you'll do.
Mhm.
When you want to do your mitochondria and really work on them, which I can't wait to do with you. I know, I'm excited. It's like taking your car into the shop. And so we do SS31, which is a mitochondria peptide, which really works on the integrity of your cell. So it goes in like taking your car into the shop. You go in and they check everything. Like, is there a hole in your oil tank? Is your windshield wiper fluid, you know, is the casing still there? Because if they don't check that and they just start putting oil in and the oil starts falling out, the car doesn't work. So you're basically going in and repairing the integrity of the cell. And then if there's any die-off cells that like just can't get repaired, they kind of get absorbed and they go away. So it's not like you're dealing with a really unhealthy environment because when you bring in mozzie It's amazing, but it's strong. And so it goes in and fixes the— in the inside, the ATP. It works with the cell, it gives you your energy, your metabolism, your insulin resistance, and it becomes this like powerhouse and you feel great. If you don't do SS31 first, oftentimes you'll take MOTC and it's going to be way too much for you. You cannot actually tolerate it. So you have too many antioxidants in your body, your cell's integrity isn't strong enough, and so it overpowers it. So you really have to prime yourself to get into that situation, and you're only doing it 3 or 4 times a year depending. I do it 4 because I love it, but I think 3 times a year is fantastic. Then you can use a 5-Amino-1 oral to kind of supplement if you want. It still works on your mitochondria, and then a lot of people just use NAD on a regular basis, and they just are kind of literally off to the races.
Okay, one of my favorite things I get to do, and it doesn't happen nearly enough, is to throw milestone parties for my family. Yes.
Okay, let's talk about brain.
I got asked this question the other day. It was so funny. I was on a podcast, a big peptide guy, and his wife was like, okay, like, what is the peptide that like got you the most, like you were surprised by? And she thought I was gonna like, I think, say like some sexy peptide.
Yeah.
I'm like, C-Lanc. She's like, what? So C-Max, C-Lanc, Dihexa, um, BDNF. These peptides are just great for the brain, and it's everything from Alzheimer's prevention, when you have Alzheimer's. Yeah, um, I've got clients who it's night and day when they're on these peptides. Their prevention while you're on them, it helps your brain fog, clarity, anxiety, mood. It just really works with pathways in your brain. For me, the reason why I said C-Lanc Yeah, Selank is actually known for depression, anxiety, and it kind of helps you if you deal with that and you want to either get off an SSR or you're like, I just want to test and see how my brain feels on this peptide. I did it because I hadn't tried it before and I was like, let me see what this feels like. I tried CMAX before, which I thought was great. I felt a little sharper. I get on it, Lori, and I think I've told this story a few times, but I'm in the gym and I'm working out and my brain is like I'm usually going and it is going. And it was like creativity is out. I mean, I left early, got in the car, messaged my team. It was a Sunday. I'm like, "I want a meeting this afternoon." I was like, "Who am I?" But I didn't think of the peptide yet. But I'm like, "Oh, I'm on fire. I want to run with this." Monday, same thing. Tuesday. Finally on Wednesday, I'm like, "What is happening?" I'm like, "Oh my God, it's a slang." It made me so creative. It opened up some pathway in the brain. And that's what's interesting about peptides. It's not a one size fits all. You know, you went on it and had a different experience, like, right? And so that's why it's really important that people understand. We talk about like, are you on SSRs? Are you prone to different things? Are you sleeping well currently? Because you want to make sure if you're taking some of these peptides that everything else is primed for it. But for me, it works really well of just getting me on it.
Yeah.
So yeah, those are them. There's tisofensine if you want to be focused, laser sharp. Sometimes if I've got multiple podcasts.
Yeah.
It's— people describe it, it's almost similar to Adderall where you're just laser focused, but it's simply a peptide that's easy to take. It's oral. I take half.
Okay.
A full one is too much for me. We talk about that though in coaching. I'll say to somebody, hey, make sure when you're taking this, start off with half. I've never ever done cocaine, but in my mind, the first time I took a full one, like, I feel like I'm the guinea pig for people when I do things. And I was like, what is this? You're like, I was on it. The problem is, like, and if you take multiple days in a row, good or bad, you're up at like 4 or 5 and you're ready to go.
Wow.
Which is, you can sleep, which is weird, but you, around 4 or 5, you're ready to go. So it's just something that like you talk about. So like, hey, understand, like it might affect your sleep and you might not wanna do it every day. You might wanna just take it when you need to focus. So that's what's really important is understanding these different categories. Yeah. And like why you are taking something and it needs to be specific for you and what's going on and make sure there's no contraindications. Like if If you are on an SSR for depression or anxiety, there's certain peptides I don't want you to take.
Yeah. What about for sleep? Because you had mentioned sleep. Oh, there's specifically peptides for sleep.
Okay. So ipamorelin is a great peptide that helps you release your own natural growth hormone. It's light. I love it for women. But one of the benefits is you sleep so well. I'm about to go on it next month. I'm very excited. You sleep like a baby. Um, epithalin is a peptide that you'll take about 3 times a year. It lengthens your telomeres. But also it helps you sleep. People just say that's kind of a side effect that's great. There is a peptide, um, DASP, which, which kind of helps induce the deep sleep phase while you're sleeping. For me, for instance, I don't like it. I'm groggy. Doesn't work well for me. I have clients, they swear by it. So that's why, again, it's important to talk about things and try things. And like, you also have to be willing when you buy something that it might not be for you. Or we were going to say, I'm going to start you really, really on the half half dose and let's see how it works.
Okay. I just, I just thought of something that some people are talking about, and I know it's definitely a question that comes up for people is they're like, oh my gosh, I'm hearing all of these things about sometimes peptides can accelerate cancer if you have cancer. Yeah. Can you talk about that?
There's no—
just tell me a little bit about it.
Okay. I think that is spreading like wildfire because it's such an easy thing to say. If someone's like afraid to get cancer, then they're going to be like, I'll never try something. So, right. Yes, there are a few peptides where it's actually increasing your blood flow. Yeah. So it's not gonna discriminate if there's a healthy cell or not healthy cell.
Mm-hmm.
And if you take blood tests, you can tell what's going on in your body. Mm-hmm. You can take a cancer prescreening test if you're worried about this. You can take a Prenovo body scan.
Yep.
So if you have a tumor, let's say that you don't know and you're increasing blood flow, could it possibly actively increase the blood flow to that tumor? Cancer. Yeah. Mm-hmm. But it's not gonna cause cancer.
Yeah.
If you have active cancer in your body, there's definitely most peptide— I mean, there's some peptides you can take, but most peptides will say stay away because it's activating, right? It's getting your body kind of, it's feeding off of each other. So it would never cause cancer. But if you are worried about something, I always say just get all the tests. I've, I've all, I've had done all of these tests.
Same, same.
And then you have nothing to worry about. Also, knowledge is power. So like, yeah, when you wanna take a Prenovo scan and see if you have anything.
Mm-hmm. I think it's just, you know, because social media just says headlines and you just read the headline, but you didn't read that underneath that they gave you all the details.
Yeah.
Around the fact that, you know, everything that you just said.
And it's a scare factor.
I think it's—
for sure. Anyone, even if someone, a doctor doesn't know a lot about peptides, the easiest thing is to say is, oh yeah, it could cause cancer.
Mm-hmm.
I hate to say it, like your supplement that you take every morning could cause cancer. Your toothpaste could cause cause cancer.
Totally.
Your hairspray could cause cancer.
If you live in California, you get a cancer warning on just about everything you order there.
Everything. Your sunscreen probably causes cancer. Mm-hmm. You— I mean, it's just at the end of the day, you gotta— I don't wanna say pick your poison cuz that sounds really bad. Be educated.
Pick your battles.
And like really take care of your body. Like figure out what's going on in your body and then you can figure out what's right for you.
What are a couple other categories? I know there's some for like sex. Sex, tan skin, all of these.
So interesting.
Yeah. Oh yeah.
They're those, they, they're, they, they are actually in the same category. Oh. One, they're like one little, I don't know how how many amino acid chain pieces are different from, you know, PT-141, which is for sex, and then methanolamine. Yeah, but oftentimes, like, if you are on PT for sex, like, you will get tan.
Is that men and women PT? Men and women.
Okay. It's really great. I'm going to tell you a funny story about it because we're close now and they can all hear this. And I said, I am the guinea pig for this because I've been doing it for so long. So this is before, you know, I'm new in the company and I hear about PT-141. I'm like, oh my God, I want to try this because I heard it works for women. So I get it and I, you know, I bring it to Dallas. I'm with my boyfriend and I'm like, okay, this is going to be really fun. I've heard you're supposed to take it like— and I'd read about it and take it like, you know, 20 minutes before you want to have some lovin' and see how it works. So we're like two kids in a candy store, like, go out to dinner, like, have a cocktail. We get home, we're like reconstituting it. Like, we both, you know, and I couldn't forget the— I couldn't remember the dosage. So I was like, yeah. I don't know, is it like 5 units or is it 1 milligram? So JP takes like double what I take because he's bigger. Yeah, I take double the dose not knowing it. So 20 minutes later we were done and I'm like, no offense, babe, but I didn't notice anything. He's like, I didn't notice anything. And I was like, oh well, whatever. Go to bed.
Yeah.
Wake up at 5 in the morning because I had to use the bathroom and I'm like, what the fuck is happening? Highly sensitive. I'll just put it that way. Oh my God.
Highly sensitive.
Wake him up and he's like, well, no, no shit. Oh my God. So anyway, the funniest thing, poor guy, it lasted for a long time for him because it was like, la devil. But what I now learned from it—
I hope you didn't have plans that morning.
Oh my God. He went to a baseball game and came back. He's like, you got to help me out again. I was like, oh my God, now your whole community knows my sex life. But my point is actually, it can also make you very nauseous. Nauseous. And oftentimes, and especially for women, so that— nauseous and sex don't go—
don't go together.
So when I coach on it, I'll say, okay, I want you to start off with half the starting dose, and I want you to take it after lunch. You have food in your stomach. And then for me, it really works better, I think, 6 hours, 10 hours the next day, lasts in your system for a couple of days. I think it takes longer than 20 minutes personally, from what I've experienced. So I would say start earlier in the day, or if you're going to do it, do it. Go to sleep and in the morning you'll feel great. But like, yeah, there is a chance you'll get nauseous, especially if you've been out and you've been drinking and then all of a sudden you take this and then sexy time is not so sexy. So it's important to understand that. It's important to have a conversation. So I really talk to you about it. I love it. It's wonderful. Ease into it and then take it at the right time and figure out how it works for you. But it's great for women. And just one other caveat is that But unlike a Viagra for a man, this method works on the brain. And so it actually stimulates the brain. So you naturally— blood flow increases to the areas because your brain is turned on, which I think is fascinating.
That is fascinating. And again, like through this whole conversation, you guys can hear why it's important to be a part of a community where you have education. Yeah, because there are so many nuances that's like like, well, this is great for this, and this works great for, you know, this person in the brain and focus, except it also in certain people could cause anxiety. So these are things that you don't necessarily know at all. And it's crazy when you're, um, dabbling in some, some of them, because something can be happening that day and you forget. You're like, wait, why do I feel this way? It's like, oh yeah, I could be one of the people that this doesn't work for, or I could be one of the people this works great for. So You know, the reason I wanted to do this podcast is to just kind of eliminate the fear of like, okay, worst case scenario, you're going to be a little uncomfortable. And like one of the, you know, Selenc for me caused a little bit of anxiety.
Yeah.
And so it wasn't this crazy experience, but it was like I was doing podcasts that day and I was like, okay, I probably shouldn't have tried this on a day I'm doing podcasts.
Yes.
Because I felt my heart rate rise and I was like, oh, I feel a little like I feel anxious. And it wasn't the best feeling for during podcasts. Us. And so I think just fully going over every conversation is, for me, makes me feel more excited about trying different things. So anybody listening, some of you, I think if you need all of your questions answered like I did, I hope that this really helps. And by the way, we didn't even touch on every single category, but— oh yeah, it, it just goes on and on, the different things that you can do. But I feel like this was such a great, like, drop-in of an overall general idea and also where to start. So you guys, if you're super curious, we would love if you would text the word LOOP to the number below in the show notes and we can start a conversation there and we can get you booked on a free 15-minute call. If you book one, please show up because this is with one of our incredible doctors on staff. He's absolutely amazing. And that is so rare. You're going to find a free 15-minute call like this.. So go and shoot us a text at Loop.
And I think what I'm also excited about, I've learned, because I have coaching groups, so I have like Cat Size 101 and I have my Loop group, and I've had groups that have been, have been with me for almost a year.
Yeah.
Some that are newer is that they in these groups end up coaching each other because it's not a one size fits all. And I learn, you're constantly learning because you're like, wow, I never knew that could affect somebody that way. We're all different. So I'm excited too with our Loop Health app that's coming out is that we will have so many community chat groups based on kind of what's going on for you. Are you perimenopausal? Are you trying to get pregnant? Do you have SIBO? Are you dealing with Alzheimer's? Do you have a family member where it's not just coaches and doctors that like— you will learn a lot, guys, from your peers because like it's the largest human trial right now is just doing peptides because we don't really know. But I'm missing one thing, like hospitalizations for peptides, really go look. There's almost none. You might get a CJC epimorlin. That's probably the one peptide. And it's only because it causes a histamine response sometimes. So that's, you know, sometimes you might get a rash, you can't breathe, that kind of stuff. But usually, like, when I coach on that, we talk about that. We talk about doing a low dose. What might, you know, do you have any other histamine responses? Other than that, guys, no one's in the hospital for peptides.
Yeah. And I think that's the main thing is people—
unless they're abusing them. Yeah, exactly. Or they're abusing them. Or like, you're on such a high dose of a GLP and you're like, I haven't gone to the bathroom in 2 weeks. Well, if you don't know yourself that that's probably an issue, that's a you problem.
