We are in the busy season, and it's not going to get less busy. And what I want to share with you is that you have these seasons and you are going to need to set your expectation for the season, and you are going to need to set up your life and the way that your habits are for this season. And if you don't do that, you're going to feel it. Hey, everyone. Welcome back to the show. It's time for another quickie because there's always time to fit in inspiration. And it has been such a beautiful whirlwind of a week, of actually two weeks. I feel like since we drove back from our Wisconsin lake house, that we spend July and August in until we got to Arizona has just been the craziest few weeks of this year of 2023. And I think it's partially because we come back from the lake house and obviously we are working up there still. But coming back to Arizona, it's like all of the things that we needed to get done, whether it is taking our dogs to the vet, doing our own doctor's appointments, doing all of our filming, doing social media, having events. Like, this is now the busy season. And for me, mentally, if I know that going into it, then I'm ready for it. And I can say that this is the most ready I've felt for a busy season because I also have gotten really real with myself over the fact that I need to take really good care of myself. I need to cut back on the alcohol during these times. I need to make sure that I'm in bed at 9pm, 9:30 at the latest. I need to make sure that I'm eating really well. I need to make sure I'm eating more green food than beige food. Do you guys know what I'm talking about with beige food? Like French fries, chicken fingers, like, not that I normally eat that, but like chips and bread and carbs and all the things that don't actually give me the energy that I need to get through everything that I need to get to. But a lot is changing right now. There's a lot that's changing in my personal brand. I'm going to be going through a full rebrand. So everything feels really cohesive with my social medias, with my podcast and with my events and anything coming out. Because right now, it feels really disjointed to me. And I want to share this with you because I'm on year what of this entrepreneurial journey? Like, am I on year 15? But of really, like, kind of Being out in the world, I'm definitely on year 11 or 12, and I just want to share it's taken me this long. Like, you guys might look, some of you and say, oh, yeah, you've got, like, earn your happy, and you've got the Lori Harder brand. You've got girlfriends of business. And then I have this new company coming out, but they're all kind of like, the branding looks all over the place. So this is a season of my life where I'm asking myself what the next version of me looks like, and how would that translate out into the world? Like, how do I want to start showing up? What do I want that to feel like? So that's really what I'm in right now, on top of having this company come out, which is so exciting. But also, there is a. A lot behind the scenes, and I want to be sharing even more of that with you. But there's a lot that you kind of don't necessarily want to be sharing because things change. And also, it's really important that you update your investors and do all of those things. So I'm really learning to manage what does that conversation look like about being out in the world, but also making sure that you have everything set to where you want it before you're really going out in the world. So it's an interesting dance of wanting to bring everybody along, but, like, kind of needing to sort through everything to make sure that it's all secure before something changes again. Cause let me tell you, if I'm learning one thing, it is that vetting people and really figuring things out and locking things in, and with branding and with everything with teams, that things can change really quickly. So you can enter or start to enter a partnership and start to see things that you're like, this might not be the best fit. So I can't wait to share more with you. I have been sharing a little bit. We're gonna be doing a little bts, but that's all rolling along and super exciting in my life. But these are all things that I feel like came back to with a vengeance and knowing that this is what I was gonna do and really managing my energy around it and making sure I'm taking really good care of myself, because that is one of the messages that I've been sharing coming through is it's kind of like asking that question to yourself, what are you pretending not to know? And I was pretending not to know that I would have to really clean up my D and clean up my wine drinking. I really need to dial it in in order to have the energy and the clarity for me to come up with all of the things that I need to be on point for at this time in my life. Last week was a live living room session. If you don't know what that is, my friend Lindsey Schwartz and I, who she has the Powerhouse Women community and event and podcast. Her and I collaborate together to do a live podcast in front of like 35 to 40 people. We sometimes bring in surprise guests, which has been so much fun. So we had that on Friday, and then on Saturday, I had to run around like a maniac trying to get ready for my girlfriend's in business event. It's like you prep as much as you can, but I swear, like, it doesn't matter how much prep you do. You realize that you have a ton of stuff to get done to set up for your event. And I also like to go help set up everything with a team. We've got a bunch of fun swag. We had a free book. I like to set the room. I like to get in the room. I like to feel it. So I was in the room till about 8, 8:30 that night, came home, ate some food, got in bed, and then on Sunday had the Girlfriends in Business event, which was, no lie, my favorite event I have ever hosted in my life. I think it was a mix of the guests being off the charts and what they delivered. And also, I was so dialed into this event because I prepped so hard with each speaker. We got so clear on exactly what their biggest value add right now for this particular room would be. And I just feel like they served so hard that it blew my mind. Like, I wish I could go back and attend this event because it was an event that really I created for every woman who has massive goals. And there were all walks of life and all walks of businesses in there, whether they were brick and mortars, whether they had a product company, whether they had events or podcasts, or whether they wanted to have these things. It was people who had a big vision all coming together to network and really work on each other's businesses or work on where they should begin. So a lot of breakouts, a lot of deep connection and a lot of learning. Not to mention we had a super fun VIP wine party afterward with really amazing vendors. You could get permanent jewelry from White, who is Aisha Marshall, permanent jewelry. You could get piercings, and then you could do some shopping from ksl, the label, which is Katrina Scott's label. So swimwear, bodysuits, amazing flowy linen clothes. And then we had Kelly Kusman who had her Kayla Gray there, which is my favorite natural non toxic scents, which is candles and, you know, all sorts of fun stuff which you guys got gifted. The cutest girlfriends and business candle of all time, along with some other fun stuff from Clear stem and Jen Gottlieb's new book, Be seen. Like, guys, it was a party and everybody looked so hot, I could hardly take it. You guys, if you're wondering what the heck, why did that audience like, why did they all look like they got the memo? It's because they got the memo. We sent out a mood board which Tori Crews helped me create. She helps dress aspirational women and speakers for what they want to do and who they want to be in their life. So she helped us pick out all of these incredible outfits to put on a mood board for inspiration for you. So you knew how to dress for the event, which made it really fun because everybody looked like a dime. Plus, so this is what I'm coming off of. Then right after that, my husband hosted his roundtable, which is a two day deep dive. He only takes 15 businesses so that they can go really deep on how to scale their businesses and what's next for them. And then I was shooting content all day long for the new company's launch and telling the pivot story. So that was an all day thing. And let me tell you, I struggle. Shooting video like it is one of the hardest things that I actually do. And my creative team was so incredibly good. They're a husband and wife duo, Joey and Kristy Spears, and they really helped not only keep me on track, but really dig deep into myself and my story to be able to share exactly what happened and the feelings that go into it. And I want you to feel empowered after watching all of this and seeing everything that's gone into the back end, I want you to feel like you're able to do these things too. So that was my whole day of shooting. And now tomorrow we are flying to Colorado to speak at Keisha Getmeri's. Empower her live. So Chris and I get to go do that together. We'll probably take the plane ride as like a little date. Maybe we'll have some wine because we have a Q and A. I don't know, we'll see. But you guys get the gist. Like, we are in the busy season and it's not going to get less busy. And when we get home, we go to our California house and things continue to progress as I begin to get on the launch of this awesome new company that I'm doing with the holidays and the new year coming, you probably are looking around your house thinking that you would love to upgrade and freshen up your environment and there is no easier way to do that than with your window treatments. So what I want to share with you is that you have these seasons, and you are going to need to set your expectation for the season, and you are going to need to set up your life and the way that your habits are for this season. And if you don't do that, you're gonna feel it. And I've had real conversations with myself. It's not that I don't screw up during this time. I totally do. In fact, I've got a dinner tonight where I'm like, are you gonna do it? You're gonna have those two spicy mugs. Okay, but don't go for a third because you know how you're gonna feel the next day. And also dialing in my food, like, I know you're gonna want the creamy Mac and cheese tonight. And it's not that I'm saying that stuff is bad. I'm saying that stuff makes you feel some kind of way. So can I have the fish in a cocktail? Yeah, that's probably a better option. Do I want the frickin bread and the cheesy Mac and the loaded baked potato and the multiple drinks? F. Yes, I want those things. That's really all I want out of life. You know, I just want that cheesy Mac life. All right? But that cheesy Mac life does not make me feel good. It does not go hand in hand with my dreams or the woman that I want to be. So what am I pretending not to know now? I know I was pretending not to know that these things were really deeply affecting me and taking away energy and making me feel anxious and depressed and waking up in the middle of the night, and that's really what's going down. So I don't want to do that to myself anymore. Like, one night I woke up this summer and I just was like, when is enough enough, Lori? When is enough? Like, sabotage and causing your own anxiety and causing your own stress? When is it enough? Like, when are you gonna start loving yourself a little bit more to make these dreams move a little bit faster and go a little bit easier on me? Meaning am I still doing the things? Yeah. It wasn't really affecting, like, what I was getting done. However, it was affecting how I was feeling when I was doing them. And, you know, if you believe in energy and the universe, God and all the things, I do believe that how you're vibrating and how you're going about and being in the world is going to be a big part of your results of what you're getting. So I'll tell you that now that I'm dialing this in even more, I feel like a fricking magnet. Like the women who are coming into my lives, life, my lives, my many lives, many masters, my lives. I feel like these are the women that I've always wanted to be around. I just feel like I'm vibrating on a whole new level because I am doing really hard things daily and I'm taking better care of myself. So if this is your sign to take better care of yourself and to put those challenging things in your schedule and to not whine about it like I wanted to do and to just say, this is my busy season. This is where I'm at. I'm so lucky to get to do these things. You want to know what you guys, Today I was writing out my to do list, and I wrote I get to do. And I just. That's it. I left I get to do, and then I wrote everything that I get to do underneath it. And that felt so good. And I was actually excited writing each thing. Like, wow, how cool that I get to do this. Because I've done work before this and now we're here, so I'm sending you guys. So much love if you love this podcast, which, by the way, this podcast girlfriend is changing, meaning it's gonna up level. We're gonna be videoing in person majority of these. And I'm actually taking the time on my calendar to really prep for some of these, which it's not that I didn't before, but honestly, so much of this is stream of thought and that's all that I had time for and done is better than perfect. But now I'm making more time because this is something that, to me is a platform that I want to really invest in. So you're going to be able to watch this on YouTube, you're going to see in person interviews. It's going to be so much fun. So if you've loved this podcast at all. It would mean the world if you would go, rate and review. All you have to do is you can go on your phone to podcasts and you should be able to rate it right there and follow, follow the show. That would be really, really awesome. The other thing, if that's too challenging because it is kind of confusing, but I know you can do it. I know you got this. The other thing you can do is go and text this show out or an episode that you loved to a friend. That is how this gets out in the world. And it's kind of like an equal energy exchange. Are you ready for this? If you believe that being able to put good things out into the world makes things happen, then if you've gotten energy from this, the biggest boomerang you could create is to give me some energy back. And it's a thing, you guys. It's a real reciprocal, universal law that when you do these things for other people enough without even thinking or wanting something to come back, they just do. They just do. I've spent my life doing that. I take probably an extra one hour a day to share different people's things, send little voice notes, ask them what they're up to, and this matters. This is how everything good in my life has happened. So find those people that you want to give back to who have given to you, and just keep pouring into them. It doesn't take long. You don't have to take the hour. You can take five minutes. So I'm so grateful for you. And until next time, you guys earn your happy. Bye, everyone. Sam.
