Louis Massaro advises founders/entrepreneurs to use economic downturns to build capabilities quietly in "stealth mode": learn to generate customers, develop skills, and prepare so you can rapidly scale when the market rebounds. He frames recessions as opportunity windows rather than reasons to panic and emphasizes anticipating economic cycles and acting without surprise when conditions shift.

So if we're here, this is the time to build the capabilities. Because now when you get here, you're on a whole nother level. Imagine this right now, you're down here, you're in stealth mode. You're doing the work, you're gaining the capabilities, you're understanding how to generate your own customers. You're learning how to fish. Instead of going on a fish market. Doesn't have any fish today. Fuck, get the pole and go get the fish. Got to eat, right? So we build these, and down here, companies are falling off, they're going under, things are happening, right? Market turns around. I don't know exactly what's going to happen, but it's going to shift, right? Americans can't sit still for that long. They're going to be like, fuck it, I'll pay the 7%, right? We got to move then as you come up and you got these new capabilities, you got these new skill sets, and now the market's just booming. I mean, you're off and running. So it's important that we make use and we understand the economic cycles and where we're at, and we don't fear it, and we don't act surprised that it's happening.
