Are You Thinking of Opening a Second Location?

So when should you open a second location? You've got a moving company, you're doing well. You want to open another location? Well, what I did was I opened way too early. I thought I had my systems dialed in. I thought I had the processes dialed in. And I went ahead and I opened three additional offices in the first year of my expansion. And it was a, like, huge thing, huge mistake to unravel, to get everything dialed in again. So what I would say is you've got to dial in the fundamentals. Fundamentals are marketing, sales, operations, customer service, and finance. You've got to make sure that all of those are dialed in. Because when you open a second location, what you're really doing is you're really copying and pasting, right? You're taking something that either works or doesn't work, and you're duplicating it. So if your systems aren't dialed in, your processes aren't dialed in, you're only going to create more problems. Don't open a new location just to solve your money problems. Go deep and fix the stuff in your business. Then expand that.
