A short YouTube segment (speaker: Louis Massaro) describing how social media platforms’ AI (e.g., Facebook/Meta) automates ad targeting. The speaker explains that instead of manual interest-based targeting, advertisers can supply campaign inputs and budget and the platform’s AI will quickly identify users with intent (e.g., moving) and serve ads, charging only on clicks.

Facebook. Let's just say Facebook, but it's really all of them. Their AI is so intelligent that it will target the people for you. So in the past, you had to get really specific and target people, right? They have interest in Realtors. They're likely to move, things like that. Where now if you kind of set up Facebook and give them the information they need and give them a little bit of money and let them run with it, they're gonna go find the people that you need. The minute you place that ad, and the minute they recognize that you're looking for people that have an intent on moving, we might not be able to comprehend how that breaks down. But within seconds, their AI knows, oh, these people just visited that moving company site. Serve them up this ad. Cause guess what? You're telling them, here's my bid, here's what I'm willing to pay, but unless somebody clicks on it, they don't get paid.
