Five ways I attracted my husband. Now, have you ever wondered how do those women attract their amazing husband into their life? Well, I'm going to pull the curtains back today and I'm going to share with you some internal as well as external strategies that I have used on my way to attract my husband of now 10 years. Hey, I'm Anthea Boyd with Magnetize youe Man. And together with my husband Brody, we've been helping thousands of successful women all over the world to get the committed, connected and long term relationship they desire fast. So let's go ahead and dive right in. One way, how I attracted my husband is to learn how to communicate authentically without attachment. So it's story time. Once upon a time, I was part of like a personal development training. And in that personal development training, I made it my goal to create a trusting and an authentic relationship with men. Reason being is because I just had a lot of resentment towards them and I was constantly emasculating them. Now, in this particular training, you were assigned to actually take action on a specific thing that was happening in your life in that moment. So it just happened to be one of these guys that sent me sort of mixed messages. I didn't know what to do. You know, we were in the same training together. So I was like, well, I mean, I have to authentically communicate how I feel about him. So one day I, you know, we actually set up a conversation, connection talk or whatever you want to call it. It was certainly not exactly a date at Starbucks. And look, I just shared with him, I just said, shit, you know, hey, I'm. I'm really finding myself attracted to you. And this was really a practice for me to communicate authentically my emotions. Not knowing if he's going to reciprocate now I'm going to, I'm not going to leave you hanging. What he ended up saying is, you know, he was actually in tears, he was so moved. But he had just met his wife, right? So they're now happily married, have two kids and so on. Right. But he had just met her and he had started seeing her. And he said if it wasn't for her, you know, he would, he would give it a shot, right? Because he said, I've never met a woman who was so honest and so authentic with me and not guarded at all. Now, you know what the funny part about that is and how it actually helped me to attract my husband is when I drove home, yeah, I actually felt celebratory. And this was so confusing because how could I feel celebratory if I was just basically rejected, right? So I realized, wait a minute, it's not about being rejected, but it's about how we feel after the rejection. And how we feel after the rejection depends on our level of attachment. So I learned to let go of that attachment and to really feel what do I need to communicate, especially emotionally, and then let it land and sit with the discomfort. The second way how I attracted my husband is I broke through my stories around trust. Now, some of you have been following me for a while, may know that I had actually much more of an anxious attachment style, right? And so of course how that was showing up was that I was constantly thinking about the future and how this man fits into it, only to get disappointed, of course, at the end of the day. So it was just one of these days where I was like talking to this guy online. This was like 2009, okay? And so he was like living in Chicago, I was living in la, but. But you know how it is, right? You just think, oh my gosh, he's a match. And it's amazing. My mom heard his voice message when he left me a voice message and she said, wow, he's your soulmate. And of course, nothing could have been further from the truth. You know, he had like a lame ass excuse why he ended up not coming to LA that he actually had planned on and it was because, you know, he didn't want to get attached to me and so on and so on and so on, you know. But long story short, you know, I of course went through lots of disappointment and I realized, look, I'm so done with being on this like, merry go round on this, on this like, wheel and I just have to do something different. So what I ended up doing in that moment when I was actually so anxious, I wrote down 134 times, I trust. Now I have to find it somewhere in my journals. I have like so many journals and I have to find like, which page shows that. So I will show that to you guys in one of my videos. But 134 times trust, you know, I don't know why. 134 times. Maybe that's what fit on the page. I write pretty small. But the point was that I said, you know, hold on a second. My system is so flooded with fear, so I have to counter flood this brain with something else. And I realized, you know, based on attachment stats and what I understood was, you know, I don't trust, I don't trust that something good is going to happen. I don't trust that I'm actually deserving. I don't trust fill in a blank. And so I realized like I need to just, I just need to trust more. And because of that it just broke something open. I broke through a wall that I had that kept men at bay that now started to actually show up in my life the next way. How I attracted my husband. And by the way, this comes from the true research just looking for all my whatever 20 journals or so is. I actually constantly use the gratitude journal. And you know, you may laugh, I mean I use like the smallest reasons to be grateful for. Sometimes it'd be like I had like a green light or my friend who have been waiting for to talk to, you know, got back to me five days later or whatever the case may be. It would be so silly. But every day there would be concerted effort to write down what I'm grateful for. And that just made me feel like, you know what something in my life is working it build a foundation it inside of me to create more belief, more trust that I'm worthy, that I'm deserving, that good things are on my way. It's what's almost like as if I had like sort of this collection of evidence, right? So the gratitude was sort of the collection of evidence that my man is on the way. You know, there's the saying when, when Columbus of course sailed to, to you know, to South America, which she didn't know that it was obviously South America. But what's interesting is that he didn't of course see first land, but he actually saw birds, he saw driftwood. And so he said, oh my gosh, he didn't say, oh man, why did I just see this driftwood? Screw the birds, what I want is land, right? But he said if there is driftwood, it has to come from land. If there are birds, they have to come from land because they have to nest somewhere, right? So he got so excited. And so that same applies to when you write your gratitude journal. It's as if you are creating your own driftwood and your own birds that of course get you to your paradise that you want to arrive at to attract the right man. Now the next way, how I attracted my husband is learn to set a clear boundary. Now in January 2013, I finally had it. I remember was the second weekend of January and yet another man was like disappointing me with his ever, never ending stories and excuses why he can't meet me, you know. And I talked about this a little bit more in detail in One of the other videos. But the point was that there was always this pattern, right, where the man would like make sort of like this, this promise or gave me like a vision. But then he didn't follow through and he just kept texting. And it's so stup it because texting, what is that? Like, that doesn't give you anything. It feels like you just get breadcrumbs, you being left, like feeling, okay, what's next? You know, let's get to the next step, right? Like let's talk on the phone, let's meet in person and so on. And so I remember that morning, I just had it. Something happened with all my prayers, with my gratitude journal, with me working on myself and of course continue to date and seeing what can shift that my. My unconscious started to shift. And what happened that moment is there was this moment where God highlighted to me a different dimension. And a different dimension was when I was actually waiting for my dad when I was little. I was waiting for him to fulfill his promises that he had made to me. Now, of course, long story short, he never did that. And so because of that, I projected onto men. And then because of that, so. So I realized this is what I'm doing and I'm done. And I was so excited, the thought that I never have to wait on a man again, you know, I literally said that, you know, my man knows. So also with that setting boundaries was setting a standard, right? Not like my man needs to pray on it. He needs to feed the seamstress, he needs to feed the samster. He needs to, you know, talk to his ex girlfriend, you know, whatever the case may be. No, my man is ready. He knows he is clear, right? So I took a stance and then in that moment, of course you may have heard that before. You know, the song from Taylor Swift came on, we will never get back together. And what it really was about was me breaking up with my old self. And so when I broke up with my old self, I actually, it took only a couple more months until I met my husband because I had broken through the barrier to. To really make myself available to my incredible man. Now the next way how I attracted my husband is learning how to let go of control and the need to be right. Now what ended up happening is five months later, I actually found myself heading to Hawaii, right? And the reason why I was going was actually I just wanted to go on my own God journey. I finally had enough of like hoping and praying and you know, my germs are full with like talking about guys and, you know, and hoping and wishing that that would work out. And so I said, you know, let me be an intentional single, not, like, accidental, which was actually, I didn't want to be single. I hated being single. I resisted being single. But I said, let me actually just, like, let go of that resistance and actually lean into being single. Now, of course, God has this good sense of humor. Ten days later, I met my husband Brody, at a spiritual discussion group. And it's so funny, because he took me to another group afterwards. And after that group, that was all the same day, by the way, you know, he told me that I'm the girl of his story, okay? And so when he did that, there was a part inside of me that said, wait, am I crazy or is he crazy? Right? Is my reality, right? My need to be right? Right? It might need to be in control, which is my reality. Or am I willing to let go of that need of control and needing to be right and be open to something different? Like, even though I didn't expect it and for a man to know, I mean, instantly, I mean, I had five months earlier made that stance, you know, my man knows, but be careful what you wish for, because he knew so much so that he knew, hey, I've been doing my visioning for years on the right woman. And you're it. You're matching that vision, that story that I've been telling myself for years in front of the mirror or wherever I was. And so that is going to be a challenge that I see my women have all the time. But are you willing to let go of control and are you willing to be wrong? Because I had to be wrong. I had to be wrong, right? Because, like, you know, being right meant, like, that men let you down, that men disappoint you, that men are not reliable. And so here's this man who proves me the opposite. So I had to be willing to be wrong so I could have a new experience. And, of course, the rest is history. Like, eight months, nine months later, he proposed marriage to me. And here we are 10 years later. And this can be true for you as well. Now, by now, you may have identified some patterns, and one is about lack of attachment, and another one is about being authentic, right? Another one is also about being generous with yourself and actually seeing what is already working in your life as opposed to staying in a complaint loop of not good enoughness and scarcity. And when you do that, the internal as well as the external things will shift for you at such a speed that when I met my husband, I actually thought this can't be my husband because I think he's coming into two to three years and he came within 10 days. So it can go really fast when you do the right things that are coherent with each other.
