New Bishop procession in St.Stephen’s Basilica Budapest 2 Set 2023
The video records the ceremonial procession for the installation of a new bishop at St. Stephen's Basilica in Budapest in 2023. The central element is a liturgical chant performed by a choir, featuring traditional ecclesiastical vocalizations that are transcribed as a series of phonetic syllables with mixed scripts, reflecting the chant’s melodic and rhythmic structure rather than semantic content. The procession includes the bishop in full vestments, clergy, and congregants moving through the basilica’s grand interior, captured with the building’s resonant acoustics. The visual and auditory atmosphere conveys the solemnity and reverence of the Catholic rite, highlighting the architectural grandeur of the basilica and the cultural significance of the episcopal installation.
