In this excerpt from the live performance of "The Hands of Man" by Chris de Burgh at Expo City Dubai, two vocalists deliver a poetic, inspirational monologue. Speaker A enumerates humanity’s dreams and achievements—crossing oceans, following stars, building cathedrals, sailing the skies—while acknowledging imperfections and the possibility of change. Speaker B reinforces the message with a call to bridge‑building, open‑heartedness, and collective power. The passage blends visionary optimism with a humble admission of human fallibility, positioning the performance as a celebration of human potential and unity.

Chapters

These are the dreams that take us forward. These are the dreams that walk the moon. These are the dreams that make us what we are. These are the dreams of mine. And we have crossed the oceans, we have followed the stars, we have learned to reason. We have studied our heart. We can build cathedrals. We have sailed the skies. We have energy hostage, turning day into night. We are far from perfect. We are making mistakes. We can change direction, 'cause it's never too late.
We can cross over bridges. We can open our hearts to a brand new world. We are powerful. We are powerful.
